I love your story so you have to promise that you'll complete it. I love the way you show various sides of your characters. Nobody not even Iroh or our goody-two shoed Katara. I hope Katara grows up faster. I'm not saying that life has been particularly good to her but i feel there is room for character development. Great fic by the way

Review incoming within the next 24 hours.

    -short preview-

-Wow still hate the fire folk

-Mung is trash who has no business even being near a child let along breathing.

    -Still sucks to be katara

-OF COURSE the refuges and townsfolk are warming up to zuko, a man not that much better than their abusers and hating on the girl who is in a shit situation and doing her best to help.

Please could you translate this part to normal English for me? I'm not versed enough to understand dialects, sorry. :(

Fan sighed, “Yer cousin always did say you were a little slow, yer Mam is a member of the Kumanishi but she had to earn her mother’s name. Her mother is the youngest daughter; she married the House of Zhuán’s oldest son. She lost status when she took his name and became a member of that damned clan. Your mother grew up with the stigma of the Zhuán name. It didn’t help that her sorry ass Pap was the way he was and everybody knew it. Well and then there’s you. Chir’ren don’t pick the men that make ‘em so they shouldn’t be held accountable for what those men do.”

OMG this was a gory chapter. If this happens to traitors, then why was Iroh unpunished, not that I wished ever to read something like that... anyway if such punishment is 'normal' for Fire Nation, then there is no way that Zuko would ever run and support the Avatar (most wanted enemy of the FN) and even if he would be successful as in the original story, when I don't think he would live long. His people would see him as traitor and usurper.

Thanks for answering the question reagrding Azulas letters. I expected that Ozai would make his appearance as he did on the ship, and this time Zuko would get it for falling for his waterbender pet.

So Qiaolian is not a fragile flower, but a though young lady? I lover the way you give your OC and the minor characters such deep. So Sing Se is searching for new master, which can be really dangerous if Azula will get the wind of this. I'm bit confused though... or maybe I missed something, but did Ozai get the letter from Azula?

WOW sucks to be sokka, so close dipping out of that hellhole before getting grabbed and that poor girl who is in a similar situation as katara, moments like that serve to remind readers that despite how some of the FN people treat katara, it is mostly due to her association with Zuko and that when not around her they are off doing shit like visiting the that rape box.

If anything happens to Sokka, Katara is gonna WRECK some fuckers.

welcome back and sorry for not leaving any reviews in a while, finally got a steady job and been working quite a bit.........plus my laptop betrayed me and died again so that slowed my reviews down on multiple stories.

    -waits patiently for next chapter-

I really enjoy your story and I also understand what emotions you're trying to portray. I don't think its impossible for them to love each just that it would be incredibly difficult like steel through fire kind of thing. They've been through a lot together and i think that you can trust and maybe even love your worst enemy if the two of have been through a lot together

What happened to Katara? I mean chapter before she almost drowned in despair and now she seems to be happy and loving? I understand that her experience is changing her views and believes but I'm not sure, if she can ever overcome her deep rooted hate for Zuko. I mean I'm also a woman and I can't imagine how a victim can forgive a repeating abuse/rape. Such act would bring out the most darkest side of me, but I also know that there are mostly women who can't leave their abusers, being mentally attached to them. I don't think this is a case of Katara, not yet anyway.

I love your description of the auras and Fire Nation customs, and how Ty Lee is trying to balance her feelings for her long-time friend Mai and Katara.
Apologies for my English, it's not my native language. I'm sure I'm making many mistakes and i'm struggling to put in words what I want to say.

I really dislike Chu-hua and really hope Ursa was nothing like that. Anyway the last chapter was depressing. You describe a world, where the woman is more or less a plaything. Katara is breaking more and more, and losing herself. Bit more and she will end like Azula in the canon story, losing her mind. As for now I see the story ending in a tragedy, with dead Zuko or/and totally broken and socially rejected Katara.

Thank you for the swift updates.

Hello jaded priceless !!! it's been awhile since my last login. Sorry for the wait but I'm back to tell you that i haven't forgot about this awesome fic.
not to be annoying, but i seriously want to know more about what's up with Katara's dad and his kind-of-a-water-tribe-boyfriend/fiance. I know you are getting closer to the crazy part were everything with fast and nasty in a blink of a eye, you r killing me with anticipation and need, like Kain said this is freaking addicting, the next thing to crack cocaine must be this fanfic, and I'm starving for it ( had been withdrawal for far to long).
On another point, the Relationship between Katara and Zuko has been evolving well (well at least for the kind o situation the are in), but what will happen when the escape (if they make it) and the Stockholm syndrome begins to wear off, will the twisted sentiment growing in their hearts (mostly Katara, Zuko it's irrevocably head over heels) survive it?
Also you have been dropping hints of who may ally with who (or may not, I may be just my loony lil' head going wacko for all I know), and of other possible benders that haven't discovered or awaken the potential yet (such as Ty lee and Jianguo)I'm super excited to see how that will develop.
And last Thanks for answering back about "The World On A Silver Platter", I will find it cool if you find a time to write a little more about it, but I know you intended to be a one-shot (one full of awe ;D), and it seem pretty complete so don't worry to much about and concentrated your genius on writing Borealis, because you don't want a bunch of addict fan-girls (psychotically)cutely complaining about more updates, or do you? tahan tahn tahhn (lame melodramatic sound).
now it's time to say hasta pronto, take care, I hope everything keep sailing great on your life so you can keep feeding the addiction of dozens of fangirls with your astonishing writing (especially this fanfic ;P)

Just wow. You really are master of story twists. I really fell for the poor little Zhao twins and then you show us again the depravity of the Fire Nation. I mean I could maybe understand the punishment of the boy, but raping of innocent to punish the sinner is... I don't know how to put it in words.

You know, I wonder what would happened to Fire Nation, the way you show them in you story, if they lost the war. I suppose the Water Tribes and the Earth Kingdom would probably exterminate them all without remorse.

Had to backtrack and re-read your author notes and yes I agree the Zhao kids had a fucked upbringing even by fire nation standards but no matter how crappy they had it, it doesn't excuse what they do and makes them no better than there father. The only difference is they try to justify their savagery.

    Holy @#$@

I mean seriously.....yikes. Disproportionate retribution to the extreme. The guy peeps on the girls so instead of just giving him a beat down they instead rape him and his INNOCENT sister, possibly getting her pregnant and then try to justify it, then leave the guy broken over what has been done. Even if they have a pretty solid alibi, Katara would more than likely believe they did it and that would just be one more reason for her to hate them and hate Zuko even more for covering it up. Pretty messed up that they still seem to think they are in the right and it's even scarier that these are the guys who want to help Zuko "change" things in the fire nation. How can they change a nation if they can't even change themselves.

your a master at hitting people right in the feels. After a few chapters of the Zhao boys being somewhat sympathetic and even kind this chapter served to remind people that they are still just like everyone else in there nation. The Gaang needs to get there hit and gear and either escape or go out in a blaze of glory and take as many soldiers as they can with them. Although Karma would be the Zhao twins, zuko, azula etc getting raped themselves. And I am a person who would never wish that on anyone, be they fictional or not, so it's a credit to your writing ability that I am so utterly vexed at these assholes lol.

Love the fic, keep it coming.

Well well well, look who decided to return to us. Leaving us for weeks all will nilly and having us go through fic withdrawals like addicts looking for there next fix. FOR SHAME I say.

    Welcome back.

    Nice double update.

-Ty lee continues to show a large amount of compassion for Katara's situation.

-Yue needs to get her spectral ass in gear and start helping her girl out beyond the small comforts. Like couldn't she find a way to imbue Aang or katara with some of her power like La did for Aang at the north?

-Loved Azula's fury at being chi blocked.

-Katara continues to brake my heart. Girls taking any kind of affection she can get even if it means getting it from people she has every reason to hate. At least it seems the townspeople are starting to 'forgive/warm up to' her.

    Now this:

"I promise I would never do anything to hurt a child or allow one to be hurt in my presence. There are many of us who feel the same way in regards to children. We don’t look kindly upon those who hurt them.”

1.Damn son, in that case you must REALLY not be too fond of your nation since rape of minors seems to the raison d'etre of your homeland.

    2. If your so righteous then there is this little........"garden" shall we say, that was mentioned not too long ago where plenty of innocent children and women are being hurt quite a bit. So when the feeling suits you,MAYBE you could go and practice what ya preach and try to help out. Sad back story doesn't wipe the slate clean and I still wouldn't mind seeing a scythe buried where the sun doth not shine.

Hi, I'm bit confused how to understand this part.

(...) “I feel it. You lied to me Katara I feel it. You love me too,” the words of his spirit were strong and clear. Their honesty was accepted and echoed by how strongly Katara’s heartbeat resonated within him. (...)

Did Zuko mistook Kataras care about his well-being with love?
