Okay, even the Marquis de Sade would think this needed a paragraph break or two. It required some active suspending disbelief to accept infection would happen that fast (and at all; wouldn't the freeze kill most of the bacteria?) but as a transgressive fiction it kind of works. I could imagine someone like Irvine Welsh writing that scenario.
