Reviews for Summer Camp

With any luck you're still getting notifications regarding this story. I started listening to it a few months ago but had put the converted speech (very basic shareware) into one giant file and kept losing my place, so I finally reorganized and listened to the last couple of chapters while out tonight.

First off, the imagery in the introduction is great, and I really love the description of the secluded area by the waterfall and especially how Arnold stumbled across his old friend and tormentor. While working together and bonding more, for more than just both being from Hillwood, worked to slowly let them open up and work out any old feelings before getting into new emotional ground - which is always shaky at first. They not only found their way together but apparently had a really good time when they'd sneak off. Starting off slowly, kissing then graduating to second and third bases, was a lot sweeter and touching than if it'd turned into a boinkfest. There was real romance between them.

Finally, when they do get home and Gertie goes hog wild (no offense, Abner) it was pretty funny but also pretty much a seal on the deal. As with all of the other romantic and sexual descriptions, minimal and tasteful worked well for the type of love story it is.

Too bad you're not going to finish it, as you obviously put some thought and had some conflict in store when they returned to camp, not to mention Big Bob and the rest of the gang. Apart from that the only other down-side, which struck me the most when they announced their dating to Gerald and Phoebe, was that they kept thinking back to elementary school – and then I noticed throughout that while Arnold and Helga had each matured on their own, their normal relationship as schoolmates, being in the same neighborhood, etc. over those years hadn't done much about the way they'd acted towards each other since the show days. Even if they didn't hang out, went to different classes, eventually they'd have at least settled into a truce just out of maturity. (Again, I started listening a few months ago so maybe you did touch on that, and despite Arnold's supposed "peeping" they were more mature towards each other.)

Melius tarde, quam numquam – better late than never – I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the story. Thanks. :)

this story has been one of the best i've read on AFF so far, not only because of the fantastic writing. but also the pure fact that its a non-creepy Hey Arnold Arnold/Helga pairing. non creepy being that their adults and it not being a quick one night stand but a wonderful love story. im so happy that your writing this story. please continue writing more to it. this is how i always imagined them finally getting together. obviously not them getting together at a summer camp. but rather finally expressing their love to each other as adults, after years of being idiots. so i beg you please continue writing this story. i've seen far to many great stories get abandoned for one reason or another. i deeply wish to see how this story ends

The wedding dress scene was really cool. You should rewrite it and post it to FanfictionNet.

Awww! The only way this could get better is if Helga changed her name (no offense to anyone with that name). Can't wait to read more!
