Rating: PG13

Adora looked at Adam as they walked towards the throne room. “Are you sure I should stay hidden till our parents drop their hands?”
“Yes, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they saw you outright.” Adam replied as he looked at his sister just outside of the room.
“I guess so.” Adora wanted to look into the throne room to see her real parents but Adam kept her from doing so.
“Stay close to the door as soon as I tell them to cover their eyes, come in and stay behind me till I step aside to reveal you.” Adam stated, as he started to open the door to the throne room, leaving Adora standing there.
“Father, everyone, can you cover your eyes for I have something to show you.” Adam asked, as he walked in, only stopping close to the thrones.
“Son, what do you mean?” King Randor asked, as he looked at his son.
“Please, father?” Adam asked.
“But son, this is very odd for you to ask this of us?” Marlena asked.
Duncan spoke up. “Don’t tell us you got some creature from the swamps and you want to show it off to us?”
“No, Duncan, nothing like that.” Adam replied. “It is so much better than that.”
“So what is it, Adam?” King Randor asked.
“Do not ask me any more questions. Just cover your eyes. You, too, Duncan, Teela. You both need to cover your eyes.” Adam said, as he turned to them.
“Adam, this is very unusual for you to do this, what are you planning?” Teela asked, as she placed her hands in front of her eyes.
“You will see, Teela.” Adam said smiling, as he made sure that she was not peeking as well as Duncan, before he went to check on both his mother and father. “It will make you all smile.”
He hurried over to the door and opened it. “Okay, sis, come in. Stay silent till I step aside to reveal you to our parents.” he whispered.

Adora nodded as she followed her brother into the throne room, stopping when she saw her mother in her long green dress and her golden crown atop of her medium brown hair, before her eyes went to look at her father, with his orange and blue robes, his brown beard and mustache and his golden crown atop his medium brown hair. She whispered very softly, “Are they . . . my parents, Adam?”
“Yes, sister, they’re our parents.” Adam whispered, softly to her as he pointed behind him as he stood close to the throne.
King Randor was starting to get impatient with the waiting. “Well, Adam, we’ve done what you have asked us to do? So where is this surprise? Must we wait all day?”

“All right, you can drop your hands.” Adam said, as he stepped aside to reveal Adora behind him.

“It is about . . .” King Randor said before the words no longer came out of his mouth as he gazed at the woman who stood by his son.
Queen Marlena whispered behind her hand, “Adora?”
King Randor whispered, “Adora? Can it really be her?” as both of them stepped from their thrones to approach the young woman who turned to look at Adam, who gave her a nod.
“Mother? Father?” Adora cried out, as she walked swiftly towards them.
Queen Marlena reached out to touch the young woman, running her hand over her shoulder before caressing her face. “My daughter. Oh how lovely you are. My long-lost daughter has returned to me.” and then, she hugged her tightly.

Teela looked at Adora before turning to look at her father. “Who’s that?”
Duncan spoke, his voice shaky. “By the Ancients, it’s Adora, Adam’s twin sister.”

“Twin . . . sister?” Teela asked, as she turned to look at her father, not understanding what was happening before her. “I don’t understand, father.”

“Adora was kidnapped from Queen Marlena when she and Adam were just newborns. The Sorceress and I chased after Skeletor and Hordak to rescue her but Hordak vanished into a gate taking Adora with him.” Duncan stated.
“Who’s Hordak?” Teela asked.
“Skeletor’s ally.” Duncan whispered.
King Randor asked, as he gazed at his daughter, not wanting to look away in fear that she would vanish. “How . . . did you find her, son?”
“The Sorceress summoned He-Man and me to Castle Grayskull.” Adam stated.
“Which was to find your sister?” Queen Marlena asked.
Adam smiled as he nodded. “The mission that the Sorceress sent us both on was to find Adora and bring her home. She had finally located where Hordak took Adora to. Though she could not tell us who we were searching for till we had encountered her.”

“Son,” King Randor spoke, as he pulled himself away from his daughter to his son, placing a hand firmly on his shoulder. “I want you to know that today you have made me the happiest man in all of Eternia. The Royal Family of Eternia is whole once more and by the Ancients, I swear that nothing shall ever separate us again.”

Adora looked at Adam with a worried look on her face, he smiled softly. “I hope nothing does, father. I just found my sister.”
Duncan watched with concern on his face as he knew Adam’s secret and now here was his twin. Did she, too, have the same sword? He approached Adam. “Adam, a word . . . privately?”
“Oh sure, Duncan.” Adam smiled as he walked away from his parents and sister to where he could speak with Duncan privately. “I know what you are about to ask, Duncan.”

“Is she like you, Adam?” Duncan asked, in a low whisper.

“That is for her to tell.” Adam replied as he looked at his parents talking with Adora.

Duncan glanced around before whispering, “I will not say a word.” before he went to join his daughter Teela who was now shaking Adora’s hand.

“I’m a bit taken back as I never knew . . . Adam had a twin.” Teela stated, as she looked at Adora.
“I never knew I had a brother as this is all a shock to me.” Adora said, as she waved her hand towards everyone as Adam walked over to her side.
“Mom, dad, why didn’t we remember that I had a sister?” Adam asked, even though he and Adora heard the story from the Sorceress.

Randor turned to look at Marlena. “We need to have a meal while we tell them.”
Marlena nodded as she looked at him before turning to look at their children. “We have much to reveal.”
Randor looked at Adam before looking at his wife. “I wish we could have the Sorceress here to help explain but she’s restricted to the area around Castle Greyskull.”

“I understand . . . father. That cannot be helped unless we venture there and have her explain.” Adora spoke, as she gazed at her parents. She didn’t want to take her eyes off of them.
King Randor smiled as they walked outside to the gardens where they strolled around in silence as the royal family was whole once more in many years. He glanced at his wife, whose smile was so much wider than usual. He pulled her close to him and kissed her forehead. “I’m so glad that our family is together again after all these years.”

Marlena turned to look at her son and daughter standing off to the side looking at some of the sculptures in the garden. “I’m so glad that we have our daughter back with us. I feared . . .”

“Feared what?” Randor asked in a low whisper.

“That Hordak would have killed her.” she whispered, as tears fell from her eyes as she started to cry as she collapsed in his arms. “I feared that he would have killed her, Randor.”

Adora and Adam just turned to look at their mother to see her collapse into their father’s arms. “Mother!”

Adora ran to her mother and was quickly wrapped up in her arms as her mother cried against her shoulder as her hands ran over her long blond hair. “Mother, what’s wrong? I’m here now.”

Marlena looked up at her daughter and whispered. “I feared for the longest time that . . . Hordak would have killed you to get back at us.”

“Mother . . . he didn’t.” Adora whispered. “He actually raised me like I was his daughter.”

King Randor snapped off, his anger was in his words, “He was never your father! I am!”
“Father.” Adora’s hand touched her father’s arm. “I know but at the time, I never knew he wasn’t.” She looked down. “He was not overly mean or cruel to me. He . . . I think deep down . . . he acted like a father to me. Shadow Weaver acted like she was a mother to me even though she was not really my mother, she stated that she was always like a mother figure to me.”

Marlena reached over to her. “They are and never shall be your parents. We are and we never stopped looking for you.”

“I know that now, mother.” Adora replied, as she looked at her parents. “I . . . somehow knew something was missing. I never realized that the planet that I was on was not my birth planet.”
Adam looked at his sister and spoke, “Probably because deep down, you knew something was wrong.”

Adora turned to look at him, nodded. “I probably did and just didn’t realize what it was till now. I never really felt comfortable on Etheria, when my heart said it was not where I belong.”

“You knew you were not where you belong.” Queen Marlena stated, softly. She looked at her husband Randor. “Maybe under all those spells, she knew.” She turned to look at her children. “Deep down, you knew you were not in the right place.”

King Randor looked past his family to see the chef standing there at the edge and nodded slightly. “Maybe we should venture to the dining hall and have a meal?”

Adam and Adora nodded as they walked towards the dining hall.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Brother?” Adora whispered, as she tugged at his arm.
Adam glanced back at his sister. “What’s wrong, sis?”
“Adam, I wasn’t with the resistance long enough to talk about my life with them. I was with them . . . barely a night and a day. What will I do . . . to explain them to our parents?” Adora whispered, as she looked at him.
For once in his life, Adam was stumped on what to say as he glanced over at his parents. “Do what you think is right, sis?”
“Alright.” Adora whispered, as she followed Adam towards the dining hall, thinking what she could say about the resistance. By the time they reached the dining hall, she knew what she was going to say if they asked.
After the first course was done, King Randor asked the question that Adora was concerned about. “What is it like being with the resistance, daughter?”
Adora picked up her goblet and took a sip to calm herself down as well to collect her thoughts. “I didn’t have much time with the resistance, father. I was only with them for a day and a half before we came . . . home.” She turned to look at Adam, who gave her a slight smile. “It was actually Adam’s friend He-Man . . .”
“He-Man went with you, Adam?” King Randor asked, turning to look at Adam.
“Yes, he came with me to help in case I got into trouble.” Adam replied. “He was most helpful in getting Adora to see reason.”
“See reason?” asked King Randor.
“I was blinded by a spell that ShadowWeaver cast over me when I was young. I had captured He-Man and sent him to Beast Island. I went to Beast Island and confronted He-Man. He told me that I was blinded by the lies that the Horde was good and that the resistance was evil. I had to go out and see the world with eyes wide open.” Adora spoke.
“What did you do, Adora?” Teela asked.
“I went to the stable to get my horse Spirit and a cloak to hide my appearance to venture into Etheria. I explored the lands, hidden by the cloak. At first, I was so sure that he was wrong, but I ended up seeing the truth behind the lies that Hordak told me and I was very angry at him, for lying to me for my whole life.” She picked up the goblet and took a big sip, as she thought about the next part she would say. “To be honest, I should have returned to Beast Island, told He-Man what I saw and freed him, but my anger was so great. I confronted Hordak about what I saw and ShadowWeaver ensnared me in one of her spells to keep me on their side, till the night that they captured He-Man and was about to drain him of his strength when I broke the spell that had ensnared me for so long and I freed him and we escaped to go to the resistance where they were thrilled that I was ‘captured’ till I told them that I was ensnared by a spell casted by ShadowWeaver and I broke it and I’m now on the side of the rebellion.”
Adam smiled and spoke, “I asked He-Man what he had said to Adora and he told me that he just told her to go out amongst the people and see the truth that Hordak was hiding from her. I was glad that he was able to help her see the truth.”
“It was soon later that Adam called on the Sorceress to open a gate to return home to Eternia, as he felt that his mission was a failure, even though He-Man told him that it wasn’t, they helped free a lot of people. That was when the Sorceress revealed to us both that I was Adam’s twin and I had parents who were searching for me.” Adora stated, as she looked at her brother and then to her parents.
“I never knew I had a sister or that she was my twin, so it was a shock for me as the Sorceress explained everything up to when she and Duncan lost Adora.” Adam replied.
Queen Marlena and King Randor smiled. “We’re glad that we finally have you home, daughter, where you belong.”
Adora looked over at Adam. “Father, I’m afraid I cannot stay here for long.”
They started to state their complaints about her leaving, when the sound of a cart was heard and a chef with a huge cake on a cart and then, Hordak appeared and stunned everyone. When everyone woke, Adora was gone. Adam quickly rushed off to find He-Man, so they could plan to get Adora back, unaware that Adora was already freeing herself.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Queen Marlena held Adora tightly after she returned to the palace with Adam, Duncan and Teela. “I will never let you go, daughter.”

“Mother,” Adora spoke, as she pulled away from her mother. “I cannot stay here.”

King Randor and Queen Marlena cried out. “Why, we can protect you?”

“Mother, father, no, this incident just proves that he will never let me go.” Adora replied, looking at them both. “Seriously, if he doesn’t get me, who will he kidnap next . . . you, mother or maybe even father or my brother, to force me to return to him?”
Duncan spoke up. “She’s right, your majesty.”

“Shut up, Duncan! She’s our daughter, we will protect her!” King Randor roared, angrily, then, his voice went soft. “We can’t, we cannot lose her again.”

“Father, Hordak will come back for me if I remain here.” Adora stated.

King Randor looked at his daughter to see that what she said was true. Hordak would never stop trying to reclaim her. “Very well.”
“Thank you father.” Adora spoke.
“But I will not send you back there alone.” Randor stated, calmly, as he turned towards Man-At-Arms. “Duncan, summon a platoon of your warriors, they will be under my daughter’s control.”
“Sire?” Duncan asked.
“They will help the rebellion defeat the Horde on her planet. The sooner they defeat the Horde, the sooner Adora can return home.” King Randor stated, firmly as he looked at Duncan.
“That is, if they end up defeating him within a few weeks, sire.” Duncan replied. “But, with the men I will send with her, it could be a few months to at least a year on her planet.”

“Then it will be.” King Randor stated. “Make sure that my daughter has the army to help fight the Horde.”
“As you command, sire.” Duncan bowed and hurried off.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Sorceress stood at the drawbridge of Castle Grayskull as she opened the gateway towards Etheria as the fleet of warriors went into the gate. Adora hugged her brother and then her parents. “I will come and visit when I am able to.”
“Be careful, Adora.” Queen Marlena stated, as she kissed her daughter’s forehead before stepping back to let her husband take his moment with his daughter.
“Send word if you need more help, we will send it.” King Randor spoke, as he hugged her. “We will always be there for you.”
Adam glanced away, as he ran his hand through his hair. “I’ll try to visit when I am able to, sister.”
“I know. Thank you for bringing me home.” Adora cried as she hugged him before turning to Spirit and hopping onto his back and spoke, “Come on, Spirit, time for us to go home.”
She gave her family a wave before entering the gate and vanishing from her birth planet to the planet she called home.
The end.
