Determined Korra, the Devious Tomboyish Princess, and Angry Asami

"You might be the 'Avatar,' but that's not gonna stop me from dominating you!" the tomboyish short blonde-haired woman, a princess of Sousse Kingdom, declared. A devious cackle followed. The dark brown-haired woman that she faced appeared to be at her wits end. Her brownish skin was scarred from the fight. She was unsure what to do next against an opponent who appeared to be stronger than her, whose brown eyes stared right into her. It was like this woman could stare into her soul. She was no Avatar, but the blond-haired woman was a quad-caster. She had a high aptitude for all four elements (Earth, Water, Fire, and Air) just like she did. That made it a hard challenge in so many ways.

It is important to go back a bit to how we got here. After exciting the Spirit World, and ending their vacation, the unexpected happened. An unknown force pulled the dark brown-haired woman, and her girlfriend, out of their world and into another one. When she came to, she found herself standing in an arena. "Welcome to Sousse, Miss...I won't let you lose." Stepping back, she tried to evaluate her situation. She ended up blurting out what she thought.

"Okay, now, what in the living hell is all this? I was with my girlfriend in the spirit realm and... now I'm in some arena?...and who the fuck are you?"

The blond-haired woman tussled her hair and laughed, as her pale skin shined in the light. She was clearly overconfident and believed she could beat any foe no matter the circumstances. She was unsure why this woman had appeared in front of her, but she rolled with it. How could she not love this woman? Her flowing hair and her fierce eyes. Everything attracted her. She relished in the feelings bubbling up within her.

"I'm Manaria Sousse, the princess of the Sousse Kingdom...and I'm gonna dominate YOU."

The brown-haired woman rolled her eyes. She couldn't take how damn bold Manaria was toward her. She didn't know what this woman's problem was. Did she just want to piss people off? She put that aside. She knew what was going on: this woman was flirting with her. She whispered to her girlfriend. She told her to wait in the stands, saying she would "take care" of this, and to only help if absolutely necessary. For now, her girlfriend went along with her suggestion.

"Oh, you really wanna go! Well, tough shit, my name is Korra and I'm the fucking Avatar...and I'm not gonna lose...to a damn tomboy like YOU!"

This perturbed Manaria a bit. How dare someone talk to her that way! Just as she was about to make a snappy retort, Korra's voiced boomed across the arena. She wouldn't be shouted down. She wouldn't be beaten.

"The only person who can 'dominate me' is my girlfriend, Asami Sato, no one else. I won't let them."

Asami blushed in response to Korra's comment. She was willing to cheer on Korra. If things got hairy, she would jump in, just as Korra had told her. Then they would fight together. She would do anything to protect the woman she loved.

The announcer declared, "this match between a woman calling herself the 'Avatar', Korra, and the acclaimed quad-caster, Manaria Sousse, begins now!"

Korra planted her feet in the ground and prepared herself. She wasn't ready for Manaria's attacks. In no time at all, Manaria cast her first magic spell. She yelled one word, "spellbreaker!" and aimed her wand right at Korra, ready to take her down. This spell attempted to analyze the structure of an opponent's magic attacks, then disrupt and disarm them. Korra attempted to block it, and she was relatively successful in doing so. Despite that, Manaria's spell still reached her. If it had been anyone else, like that woman, the dashing Rae Taylor, it would have worked with even more terrifying accuracy. She was still angry that Rae had cast her off, even though she had become friends with her since then.

Frustrated, Manaria prepared her deadliest spell yet. She said one word: "Dominator." Suddenly, all the magic in the vicinity was under her control. She made it go berserk. Korra couldn't bend anything. Her elemental abilities hit her body with lethal force. She barely survived the attack. With that, we come back to the present. Korra had only been this close to death when she'd been poisoned and when she faced Kuvira in a battle near the walled city of Zaofu.

Manaria believed she had won. She thought that her ultimate weapon had been just as successful as it had against Rae. After all, Korra was assaulted by all her elemental magic. She had been pressed to the ground. Blood came spurting out of her mouth. Asami was startled. She was ready to protect Korra. She hasn't expected it would go this far. It was her support that made Korra realize that she could hold on and win. Korra whispered to Asami that she'd be okay.

As such, the tomboy's original assessment was wrong. Using all her might and abilities, Korra harnessed her Avatar powers, reassuring Asami, causing her to stand down. In no time at all, using her skills as the Avatar, Korra bent the air itself and hovered above the ground, as she fired huge fireballs at Manaria. Rock walls, and metal, followed. The latter was something Manaria hadn't prepared for. She wasn't ready at all. She couldn't stop it. She had been trounced.

Korra bound Manaria's hands together, and her mouth. She snickered. Clearly teasing her, she declared, while coming within inches of the woman's face, "you look better bound and gagged." This was something Manaria couldn’t stand to hear. As she was about to break out of her binds, the announcer interrupted. He suddenly declared, "we have a clear winner, Ms. Korra!" The audience went ecstatic. They had never seen anyone beat Manaria in a contest before.

Releasing the metal binds on Manaria's hands and mouth, causing her to collapse to the ground, Korra ran toward Asami. However, she couldn't get to her. That was because onlookers surrounded her. They demanded to know how she had beat the tomboyish princess. Korra attempted to escape and get to Asami, but nothing worked. Luckily for her, Asami was forceful. She pushed them out of the way. She came close and smooched her girlfriend on the cheek and growled.

She then shouted loudly, followed by a huff. "I'd like to be with my girlfriend now. Your fun is over, you damn vipers!" She firmly clasped Korra's hand and they proudly walked out of the arena. People did not want to follow either one of them. After what she had said, they were a bit afraid of her. They had some reasons for feeling that way, since she could be very protective of her girlfriend at times, including in this instance. Onlookers recognized that.

Not long after, they walked into a nearby park. Both sat down on a bench and sat side-by-side. Asami breathed a sigh of relief. It was finally over. She wanted to get back to their home, so they could somehow move on from this.

"Korra, are you sure that you are completely okay? That fight looked really rough."

She nodded. She still didn't know exactly what was happening or how they had arrived in the arena in the first place. She would figure that out later. At least she was with Asami. That grounded her in more ways than one.

"Yeah, I'm fine...but she was tough!...I'd like to go back home now."

Before anything more could be said between them, Manaria, who was bruised and beat-up from the fight, caught up with them. Asami got up and stood in front of Korra. She was very defensive. Korra was wary. She didn't trust this princess. What if she wanted to fight them again? Surely, she could whoop her ass again, and show her who was the really the boss. That would make it clear to her what fighting her meant. Maybe that would push off Manaria.

"I finally found you both! I just wanted to say, Ms. Korra, thanks for the wonderful match. I've never had someone, who I used the dominator or spell breaker on, beat me... I didn't even use my levitation or teleport spells."

She then added, as loudly as she could, "I have to say, I love you and want to be with you!" She wanted to drive a wedge between them. This was only the start, as she saw it.

Korra wasn't sure what to say. Asami looked at Manaria with a scowl on her face. She was glad that Manaria was being forthright, and blunt. But, she couldn't put up with this. Not another romantic interloper! Not again! She wouldn't let that happen. She did her best to let her down easily, then they could get back to their own lives, away from her. That's what she wanted. Asami felt the same way. This was one of the many instances that they were united.

"Ms. Sousse, thanks for the kind words, but I already have a girlfriend. I'm not interested in another partner at this time."

She wanted to let her down easy. However, Manaria wouldn't stop. She was someone would could be forceful and aggressive to achieve what she wanted, going to whatever length to achieve her goals. This had almost worked when she tried to get with Rae, but Claire Francois had stopped it with her declaration of love. She still held it against both of them. She'd get back at them someday. She'd get her revenge at some point.

"You will be the prize. I will fight Asami Sato for you. Let there be another match!"

Asami didn't like this idea, nor did Korra. They did not like where this was going. She had to put her foot down. She wouldn't let herself be treated as something to be won or lost. That wasn't who she was. She would never be that, ever.

"My girlfriend is not an object!"

Korra chimed in. She agreed with her girlfriend. "Asami is right. I am my own person and I make my own decisions. You may have been forceful with other women in the past, but I ain't putting up with it."

Manaria was put off by her response, as much as she had been when Claire stood up for Rae, declaring she was "hers" and, at the same time, Rae refusing to comply with her. As a confident woman, who could be roundabout in her methods, she still did not want to give up on those she loved. She was willing to sacrifice her needs and wants for those she liked. At the same time, she could be conniving, teasing those she found amusing, and flirting with those she fancied. All the while, she could be ladylike and well-mannered, even as she recognized people's inner turmoils like she did with Claire and Rae. Perhaps she could do the same with Korra too.

"Fine, fine. But, I still have every right to fancy you, Avatar Korra. You are the one who peaks my interest. And I will do whatever I can to be with you."

Asami was about to punch Manaria in the face, tired of this damn woman messing with her girlfriend. Korra struggled to restrain her. Manaria laughed when she saw this, seeing some echoes of how Claire and Rae acted around one another, although Asami and Korra had been through much more than Claire and Rae. She still wanted to split them apart in some way. She thought she'd try to do so by continuing to annoy Korra. She loved doing that.

"A supportive, protective girlfriend is my style too. Maybe I should date Asami too...and we will see which one of us can make her happier...how about that contest?"

This time, Korra wanted to go at her. Asami whispered in her ear that she needed to hold back. Korra realized she was right. They had just gotten together. As such, she wouldn't let anyone or anything ruin what they had together. It wouldn't be right. At the suggestion of Asami, she outstretched her hand. She was willing to extend an olive branch of sorts. Maybe this would help disarm her.

"I do not accept a contest, but how about we remain friends?...you can guide me in the ways to use those 'dominator' and 'spellbreaker' attacks...I can control the elements and go into the Avatar state...I can't do any magic like what you cast with your wand you know."

She bowed to Manaria, surprising her a little bit. She was about to say more, but Korra continued. This caught her off guard again. This was yet another way to break her concentration. "Please teach me, in your ways, and be my sensei."

Manaria snickered. She knew how she could spin this situation. She loved teasing girls that she liked. It was one of her favorite things to do. She was scheming for how she could spin this in a certain way. She came up with an idea.

"Oh, you want me to be your master? I didn't know you were looking for that kind of relationship."

Asami was steaming. She could not stand this damn woman! How could she talk to Korra that way? What did she want? Korra was almost used to it by now but she wouldn't let Manaria get under her skin. If she did, then she'd be submitting to her whims in one way or another. She wouldn't let that happen. She would do what she could to push her off, again. This was getting very tiresome.

"Ms. Sousse, I only want you to my sensei with this magic. I am not looking for any romantic entanglements. I already have a lovely, and amazing, girlfriend."

It was clear that Korra had won this argument, for now. Manaria understood, even though she wasn't burying her attractions in the back of her mind. She hoped to win over Korra eventually. Maybe she would be able to so, although she hadn't figured out the exact strategy yet. She was still thinking of a method to do so. Maybe one day she could figure out how to pull them apart, even if that wasn't possible this time. She made another attempt to pull in Korra.

"I will teach you in the ways of magic. But you must come alone and without any distractions."

This was something that Asami could not accept. Korra wasn't sure about it either. It seemed like a ploy to bring Korra to her side. Why should they trust someone who was a clear flirt with other women? They both resisted with all their might. They would never fall for whatever she had planned. They'd fight back against it no matter what. That's just who they were. They didn't give up, even when times were hard.

"No. We have to come together!", they shouted, strongly, with their voices in unison. Manaria was willing to accept it...for now. They had won the battle but the war wasn't over, as she saw it. It appeared that the argument had dissipated.

Out of nowhere, Manaria ran their way and embraced both off them. Her boldness surprised Korra and Asami, a little. She laughed, almost playfully. She wanted to throw off their concentration and make them lower their defense somehow. This was one of her many methods. She hoped that this time she'd finally be successful. Maybe she could win one or both of them as a "prize."

"Fine. You can come. I can play with both of you. Both of you are so cute. I could eat you both up…"

She cut herself off before she said anything more. It wasn't because she had come to a realization that she had gone too far. There was another reason she pulled back and attempted to recompose herself. She gracefully bowed, but she did not apologize for what she had just said. She never would. Her strategy this time was to present herself in such a way that they would respect her, so she could fight to win another day. She had this all planned out.

"Thank you for making my acquaintance, Ms. Korra and Ms. Sato. I will see you in the morrow."

Korra and Asami were puzzled. They couldn't understand why had she suddenly become so formal. They weren't sure what was going on, but guessed that she wanted to put on the appearance of being more dignified and lady-like, since she was a princess after all. In any case, Korra and Asami bowed to her and left, while clasping each other's hands. The matter seemed resolved. Korra and Asami were relieved. They could put this all behind them at last.

Not long after, Asami excoriated Korra on how she had, in her view, flirted with Manaria, at the end of their fight. This was a charge that she vehemently denied. She could never admit the reality: Asami was right. She had flirted with her as a way of rattling her. She wasn't sure she had feelings for her. Suddenly, everything seemed all out of sorts. It was like they were going through some kind of vortex or portal. The next second she knew, she was on her bed.

She awoke, moving her body upright with a start, with Asami strongly clinging to her side. She came to the summation that this had all been a dream and that she had never met a tomboyish woman named Manaria Sousse after all. None of that seemed real. Asami rolled over and opened her eyes. "I just had the weirdest damn dream...Korra." She nodded. None of it occurred. They had never left their house. She was just tired, right?

There were some realities which threw into question the idea that this had been a dream. Both Korra and Asami had vivid memories of it. Korra had bruises across her body, none of which had healed. Whether they would meet Manaria again was an open question. Even so, there was no doubt that she was someone that neither of them would ever forget, no matter what they experienced next...
