Steven Universe had achieved so much in his short life so far on Earth. Not just for a human but for a Gem as well. He had saved the world from the Cluster, had discovered the truth of his identity, had not only fought against the Great Diamond Authority but even won them over his three long lost sisters. Ending the hegemonic tyranny of the Homeworld Gems and reuniting them with the Crystal Gems, he had even formed a colony back on Earth. And owing to his status as the new messiah, he had wronged the sins of his mother too. Life was good.

But in spite of all that, he was still missing something. After defeating Spinel and assuming leadership of Little Homeworld, Connie had gone off to college. Watching her drive off into the sunset, he had so many things he wanted to say. So much he still wanted to do with her. Surviving all the ordeals and trials of his life, fulfilling his destiny, he was still very much a boy when it came to girls.
