Deep beneath the surface of the Atlantic, a creature stirred. A monstrous green serpentine beast, with too many arms, too many eyes, teeth large and sharp enough to put the fear into a great white. Tendrils of kelp tangled into the wild spikes of its hair as it sat like a fault line- frozen in a painful tension for what seemed like an eon only to thrash and buck violently without warning. Her name was Malachite, and in a word she was toxic.
At Malachite’s core was a frightening liminal space of dimly lit aquamarines and teals, a battleground between two fiercely powerful minds. Lapis Lazuli stood arms akimbo, her legs braced as if pushing against a great weight, sinuous chains of living water connecting her to her prisoner. Jasper, the ancient warrior, mightiest of the Earth-hewn gems, was never one to surrender. Even after fusing with the treacherous ocean gem, she fought valiantly and in vain for days to take control of Malachite by raw will. Her attempts so far had been fruitless, and a kernel of doubt picked away at the fringe of her consciousness, mingled with the first pangs of an unfamiliar weight: hopelessness. She would have to change her tactics if there was to be any way to win this battle.
“You know, it was a pretty good trick you pulled on me, Lapis. Gives me the feeling it wasn’t your first time. Leave a lot of broken hearts on Homeworld?”
Lapis remained silent.
“That little Rose had better be training hard- because when I get out of here, I’ll pull her weak little body apart before I shatter the rest of her sorry band of leftovers.”
A fist darted out of the water to crack Jasper squarely across the jaw, turning her head on a swivel and tossing her unruly hair up like a dancer’s skirt.
“You will not hurt Steven.”
Being unable to touch a hand to her Jaw, Jasper simply rolled her head before settling her piercing amber eyes to Lapis’ icy blue.
“Not bad for amateur hour. But if that’s all you can do while you hold me here then it’s only a matter of time before you’re weak enough for me to get our body back. And that’s if you’re lucky- if we split, you’re poofed.”
Lapis laughed- a dry, cold, mirthless sound that seemed to come from everywhere at once.
“You think you can overpower the ocean? Humans call it the most destructive thing on their planet. If you don’t believe me, I can show you.”
Jasper’s chains retreated into the liquid floor, splaying her on elbows and knees. Cords of muscle stood taut against her skin as she growled with vain efforts to stand. Behind her back rose a serpentine whip of water, stretching high into the unseen limits of Malachite’s ghostly ceiling. Finally the wave crested and flashed down, narrowing its tip to a sharpened point. The jellylike wobble of the water softened the supersonic crack as the whip sliced across the sound barrier, but there was no hiding its effect on Jasper as it tore across her back, leaving a fire-red welt across between her shoulder blades. Jasper winced, back arched and mouth flying open in a paroxysm of pain. Lapis winced too, not beyond pity for the suffering of trapped gems. Jasper took a deep breath and swallowed. Her head shot up, eyes flashing.
“Nobody’s ever hurt me like that before… Do it again.”
Lapis cringed at the request- disgust etched on every line of her face. Still, an idea stirred. While the thought of allowing Jasper any kind of pleasure rankled her, it didn’t seem that her efforts so far had injured the gem. And if playing along- yes, only playing along- could contain Jasper more safely with less struggle…. If she came to crave her cage… then Steven and the gems would be safe.
Never relinquishing the chains around their wrists, she planted a bare foot on Jasper’s chest, the firmness of muscle and breast yielding beneath her sole. Jasper’s eyes strayed across the smooth blue skin, up her leg to where the shadows of Lapis’ dress stole her sight.
“Well, Jasper. If you think you like pain. Then I’ll give you as much as you can stand.”
Chambering her leg back, lapis lashed out with as much force as she could muster, heel striking Jasper squarely in the solar plexus. The burly warrior’s mouth lolled open, eyes screwed shut as the wind was driven from her. Now it’s true that gems don’t need air to breathe- but they do still need it to speak.
Jasper allowed herself to fall backwards- an impossible luxury in any other battle- and savored the hot ache in her chest, the cool lapping of the liquid floor against her cheek.
She whispered thanks.
“I’m sorry, I don’t think I heard you.”
Her words ripped out at the end of a growl. “Thank you.”
Lapis shifted the chain of her right hand to join the one on her left. She hooked her thumb into Jasper’s mouth, yanking her by the cheek and bowing so their eyes were millimeters apart.
“So you do have manners. I was starting to wonder.”
Jasper’s nose twinkled as her head erupted into a battering ram. She surged forward against her bonds, but Lapis danced casually back, a geyser of water propelling the top of her foot into Jasper’s chin in a tidal kick. The battering ram flickered out of existence as Jasper’s teeth chattered together.
“Incredible! Are you still trying to win?” Lapis yelled. The chains dropped from her hands, but Jasper’s remained tight- in fact, she was lifted bodily by her handcuffs, tiptoes scraping across the floor, spread eagled.
“Let me remind you who’s in charge here, Jasper. You seem to forget so easily.”
Bubbles of water lifted from the floor, coalescing around Jasper’s head. Water slid between her lips, up her nostrils, down her throat. Lapis raised her hands like a conductor, rage bubbling in her eyes like ocean foam roiling in a sudden storm. An orchestra of watery tendrils rose behind Jasper. Lapis’ fingers moved with a pianist’s grace and the tendrils struck. One lash, two, three, four, five. Each deliberate, spread over tortuous seconds. Jasper’s face shifted and shimmered beneath her water helm, but her lips were held tight. Did they curl in an arrogant sneer or in restrained ecstasy?
Five more lashes came faster, each drawing a clean line across Jasper’s uniform to reveal the marbled flesh below. The next ten came faster, the ten after that faster still, straying across broad shoulders, sinewed back, quivering rear, until the back of Jasper’s uniform had been completely torn to ribbons.
Lapis let the water fall from Jasper’s face. With ragged gasps she purged the water from her chest.
“More, please, diamond…”
Lapis rubbed fingers across wearied brows.
“I’m sorry, I’m a diamond now?”
“You can be anything you want as long as you don’t fucking stop. Punish me, Lapis…my diamond.”
Lapis took a deep, sobering breath that did nothing. A wave swept through Malachite, tossing Jasper to her back, bonds regenerating to hold her to the floor. Lapis marched forward, tentacles of water swaying around her. Lifting her skirt, she squatted down over Jasper’s face.
“If you want it, you have to work for it.”
She expected hesitancy. Hell, if Jasper were trying to escape she would have expected a measured show of obedience. But Jasper ate her hungrily, blindly. What’s more, she had not expected the wetness between her own legs, or the tingling warmth as Jasper kissed her lower lips.
“Good energy J, but you can do better. Maybe with some encouragement?”
Tentacles of water oozed through the front of Jasper’s clothes before reforming in wriggling masses that cupped her breasts or spread a hole before prying deep inside.
Jasper squirmed, her groans testifying to Lapis’ skill. Soon that fabric too gave way to the unfailing power of water. The tendrils shifted and swelled, stretching Jasper’s physical form to its limit, crossed wires of pain and pleasure clouding her mind as her nipples were lapped by whirlpool tongues, slick slit and clenching close to tearing.
The salty waters of the ocean even flowed over her lips as Lapis ground herself on Jasper’s upturned mouth. She wanted to scream. But her struggling slowed, turning to simple squirms as her body was rocked by the truth her mind was now forced to contend with. Maybe the ocean really was inescapable. Inevitable. But if that were true, then the ocean floor was inevitable too.
Lapis’ posture slumped and tossed as Jasper’s worshipful ministrations pulled her to orgasm. The two yelped and writhed. Jasper came first, clenching around the waves inside her. As the electric fire within her faded, her attention on Lapis’ groin did not. Nor indeed did the thrusting inside of her, rendering her nearly a ragdoll in the afterglow. With her last vestiges of energy, she locked her pouting lips around Lapis’ clit, enveloping it with her tongue in circles until the Blue gem’s own moans built, climaxed, and trailed into silence.
Lapis spread her wings and rose, unable to avoid the sight of Jasper reaching after her with a seeking tongue and glazed, hooded eyes. She repressed a shudder, averting her gaze. With a flick of her wrist, Jasper’s chains rematerialized, dragging her beneath Malachite’s waves once more.
Lapis would spend the next day chewing on one observation- as her face vanished into the floor, the look in Jasper’s eyes shifted, describable only in one word- victorious.
