First chapter is just fluff
Second chapter is just smut
Luz sat with their pup in her lap, on the large couch. The very same one from the Owl House. It had taken a lot of whining from Luz to get Eda to let her and Amity take the old couch when they had first moved into their own home. Eda ultimately gave in, with a bit of a push from her mate, Camila, stating that the couch would be a housewarming/mating present for the young couple.
Once Amity and Luz had both graduated from Hexside, they bonded, having been dating for several years up until that point. Soon after they had mated, Amity started looking for homes for just the two of them.
Not that Amity didn’t enjoy living in the Owl House with Luz. It was just that it was getting quite crowded. Now that Luz’s mother was bonded with Eda, that bumped the residents of the Owl House to six. Far too many. Amity and Luz needed their own space.
It didn’t take long for Amity to find the house she wanted. It was perfect. Not far from the Owl House, and more than big enough for them to grow a family together.
Now, several years later, that couch still sits in their living room. It probably gets a lot more use these days than it ever did before. Luz loved to lounge on it, and Amity found it comfortable enough. But it was their pup who truly loved it. It was her favorite plaything, it got jumped on, climbed on, and even had a few bite marks on the legs and armrests.
Amari was a wild little thing. She had taken mostly after her mother. Her tan skin and dark hair screamed Luz. The only thing seeming to tie Amity to being her sire was her eye color. Even after she was born, she obviously looked more like the omega. Luz still insisted they named her Amari, after Amity. Even though at first, the alpha protested. Luz had ensured her that they would name their next pup after herself.
Amity stood, leaning against the door frame as she watched her mate and pup. Amari was being surprisingly calm, sitting in Luz’s lap, watching her mother as she scrolled through her Penstagram.
“Keeen!” A happy squeal came from Amari, gleefully pointing at the scroll.
“Yep. That’s King. Very good. Mija.” Luz responded gently, running her fingers through her daughter's soft hair.
The alpha watched her omega and pup interact. Titan, Amari was getting so big now. At three years old the halfling was growing faster with each day. Learning new words, how to open doors, figuring out every baby lock they had in the house. Amari was a troublemaker for sure.
Amity not only saw Luz’s rambunctious energy, but her own sibling's troublemaking attitude in their daughter as well. Ed and Em were just as bad, if not worse as pups. They got into everything they could.
Thinking about her family gave Amity a weird pain in her chest. She missed her siblings. She hadn’t seen Edric in quite some time. He fled the family as soon as he could. Not that she blamed him. Being a male omega was hard enough. But their parents made sure to make his life difficult on purpose.
Of course, Amity got to see Emira more often. Being that her mate, Viney, worked with Luz’s mother Camila.
Thinking back to all the fun times she had had with her siblings when they were pups. Back when they were happy and carefree. The alpha looked down at her pup, a soft whine building in her chest. Their pup deserved that happiness too.
Stepping away from the door, the alpha crossed the room to sit next to her mate. Amari immediately scrambled into Amity’s arms.
“Sire, sire!” The pup cried out joyfully.
Sire had been one of the first words that Amari had learned, much to the alphas immense delight. Even though Amari took after her mother in looks, she absolutely adored Amity. The pup clung to the alpha, often following her around. If she wasn’t in her sire’s arms, she was off getting into everything she could. And being a general terror.
Amity wrapped her arms around the pup, pulling her close. She expected Amari to try and squirm away. But instead, she just ducked her head into her sire’s neck, settling down. Understanding flooded Amity’s system. No wonder she had been so calm in Luz’s lap.
“Oh, I see. Someone’s sleepy.” Amity teased softly, trying not to speak too loudly.
A whine of disagreement could be heard, but the alpha knew better. Amity kept one hand on the pup’s back, rubbing in soft circles. The other hand came up to rub the tip of one of Amari’s slightly pointed ears lightly. The alpha let out a low purr from deep in her chest. Flooding the room with soothing, protective alpha pheromones. Amari took several deep breaths and let out a soft purr, nuzzling closer.
Feeling the toddler in her arms Amity realized just how big she had truly gotten. Amari was growing up. She would be starting at Hexside soon enough. She would soon be independent, her own little witchling.
A sense of longing filled Amity’s system, a familiar ache in her bones. The same ache she felt when she had first bonded with Luz.
She wanted another pup.
Soon Amari’s purring turned into snoring. Once Amity was sure the pup was asleep, she dropped her hand from Amari’s ear. It was a nervous habit of Amitys’. She often rubbed at the tips of her own ears to help calm herself down. And it seemed to work on their daughter as well.
Amity looked over at her omega. Luz sat with a wide-eyed look of pure love and adoration. Classic Luz.
“We should have another pup.” Luz let the words out like she was ready to burst.
“What?” Amity asked, surprise taking over.
“Sorry, I just- I’ve been thinking about it for a while. And watching you handle Amari just now reminded me what a good sire you are.” By the end of her little rant, Luz was blushing.
Amity couldn’t help a soft laugh. “You know, I was just thinking the same thing.”
“What? Really!” Luz’s overzealous response disturbed Amari, causing the pup the whine.
Amity softly shushed the sleepy halfling, settling her back down. The alpha gave Luz a disapproving glare. The omega shrunk against the look apologetically. Sometimes the human still had volume control issues, but she was working on them.
“I’ll put her down, then we can talk more,” Amity said as she started to get up.
Luz followed after her mate, taking her turn to kiss her daughter’s forehead after Amity laid her down. Both parents crept out of the room, slowly closing the door.
Standing in the hallway, the omega reached up, running her fingers through Amity’s hair. She pulled their bodies closer, kissing along her alpha’s jawline.
“So, about wanting another pup.. ‘Mari is asleep.. Maybe we should start now?” Luz used every bit of omega persuasion she could in her voice.
They didn’t often get time alone, she wanted to take advantage of the time she had. But the alpha just laughed breathlessly. Although the omegas charm was no joke.
“She’s only napping, we wouldn’t have nearly enough time.” Amity shakily explained her reasoning.
Luz whined at that but ultimately agreed. Pouting as she pulled her mouth away from her mate’s tantalizing jawline.
“Well, do you think your mom and Eda would watch ‘Mari over the weekend?” Amity asked.
Luz scoffed and rolled her eyes, “Of course. Considering Eda is her favorite person on the Isles.”
Amity couldn’t help but grimace. It was true. While Amari loved her sire, she had a special connection with Eda. There was something about the Owl Lady that the little halfling just idolized. Amari was a terror for everyone, including her parents. But with Eda? Amari is an angel. Perfectly sweet and calm.
Of course, Luz was right. Her parents were glad to take Amari. Though Camila would be at the infirmary when they dropped off Amari, she would still get to see her over the rest of the weekend. Plus, Eda, King, and Lilith would all be at the Owl House to watch over her grandpup, so Camila wasn’t worried about it.
Luz and Amity were very busy during the week, both being teachers at Hexside. Amity taught abominations, and Luz taught glyph magic. So the omega was glad her parents agreed to take Amari. The weekends were their only real free time, and there isn’t too much you can do with a toddler getting into every little thing she could.
“Come on little one, we have to get ready. You're going to see your Abuela and Eda today.” Luz said, nudging the toddler out of the doorway to the pup’s room.
Picking out a few pairs of clothes and other necessities, the omega packed them into a bag. All the while, Amari jumped on her bed chanting ‘Eda’ over and over.
“I know, you love Eda. Now. Pick one toy to take with you.” Luz held up one finger as she spoke.
Amari scanned the room, looking over the numerous amount of toys she had. Trying to pinpoint the exact toy she wanted. Finally, she spotted it. Squealing happily, the toddler ran over and scooped up the toy. A plushie Snaggleback. Amari had seen a picture of the Snaggleback in one of King’s books, and immediately wanted one of her own.
For several months both Amity and Luz searched high and low, looking for a toy version of the demon. But they had had no luck. Eventually, they figured they were never going to find one. That is, until one day, when they were dropping Amari off at the Owl House, King came rushing out, plushie Snaggleback in hand. Eda informed them that King had been working for months on it. He had made the toy just for their daughter.
The memory brought warmth to Luz’s chest. The omega was glad that King seemed to love her daughter just as much as he loved Luz herself. Amari trotted over, holding out the plushie to Luz. Taking the plush, ‘Naggle’ as Amari called him, and stuffed him into the bag too.
“Alright, let’s see if your sire is ready. Then we can go see Eda.” Luz followed after her daughter as she ran into the living room.
“Eda, Eda. Sire. Eda!” Amari yelled as she stomped in front of Amity, pointing to the front door.
“Yes, yes. We are going to Eda’s right now. Just let me put your shoes on, then we can go.” Amity sighed as she knelt down.
Luz stopped to watch her mate. Amity, much like Luz, had let her hair grow out over the years. Her hair came down to the middle of her back, and it framed her face perfectly. The alpha stopped dyeing her hair long ago. The natural brown color was beautiful. The omega actually preferred this hairstyle over any other.
The omega watched as Amity helped their pup put their shoes on. Titan, Amity was such a good alpha. She was strong, dedicated, and smart. But yet so sweet and gentle with Amari. A good sire. Amity always went out of her way to make sure her mate and pup were happy and taken care of. Luz couldn’t help but swoon.
“Alright, let’s go. Amari is about to explode.” Amity joked as she led her family out the door.
The walk to the Owl House wasn’t a long one. Amity had made sure of that. The couple walked hand in hand, following behind their daughter. They all knew this path well. Soon Amari would probably start making the trip by herself. Squeezing Luz’s hand, the thought made Amity’s heartache. But she shook it off. It’s ok that Amari is getting older. There was nothing that could be done, that was simply life.
As they walked, Luz leaned over to nuzzle Amity’s shoulder briefly. The alpha turned to look down at Luz. Their eyes locked for a moment, blush forming on both of their faces. Titan, Luz was so beautiful. Amity swore that Luz got prettier with every passing day.
“I love you.” The words left Amity before she was aware of it.
The smile on Luz’s face was huge, “I love you, too.”
Amity leaned down to give Luz a quick kiss. But broke it as she stumbled over Amari who had come to a dead halt. Amity stepped back after apologizing to the pup.
“Wait!” Amari made sure they were both watching before she pointed to Luz. “Love you, Mami!”
“Awe! I love you too, Mija.” Luz cooed happily.
Then Amari turned to Amity, “Love you. Sire!”
“I love you too, sweetheart,” Amity replied softly.
Amari held her chubby little hands up, demanding to be held. Amity sighed as she picked the pup up. Holding her on her left forearm so she could take Luz’s hand back in the other. Once again they started walking.
Luz looked up at her mate. Amity had a few inches of height on her these days, being an alpha and all that. Amity had also bulked up quite a bit, especially over the last few years. Though Luz assumes it has something to do with the alpha carrying Amari around everywhere.
The rest of the walk was peaceful, well, as peaceful as it could be with a toddler yammering on nonstop. Amari just loves to babble. Half-formed sounds that could almost be words. And of course, she threw in every word she knew into the mix. The couple couldn’t wait until Amari could form sentences instead of just repeating the words she knew.
By the time they had made it to the Owl House, Eda was already waiting outside. The pup squirmed free from her sire’s arms. Running as fast as her little legs could take her to Eda. The older alpha witch scooped up the pup. Cooing as they nuzzled noses with each other. It was their classic greeting.
From the moment Amari was born Eda was infatuated. She adored her ‘grandpup’ more than anything. The constant cooing and baby talk was proof of it. Amity swore there was something about Eda that the Noceda women just adore. Amari, Luz, and Camila all loved Eda in their own individual ways.
“Sorry Eda, I hope you didn’t stop working just to take Amari,” The guilt was evident in Amity’s voice.
Eda waved her hand dismissively, her attention not leaving the pup. “Nah. Three-eyes is in heat, so she won’t be back for at least a week. So honestly, it’s nice to have a distraction.”
“Guh, I’m sure Willow is having quite a time. Boscha is a handful normally. I can’t imagine what she’s like when cycling.” Luz chuckled at the thought.
Amity just scoffed and rolled her eyes. “Oh please. Willow can handle herself.”
“And, what about you guys? Just need to get away from this little pup?” Eda finally pulled her eyes away from Amari.
Amity just nodded. She had no plans on telling Luz’s sire- err, stepsire? Whatever. In-laws. That she was gonna be spending the weekend knot deep in the omega.
“We’ve decided to try for another pup! So we really need the time alone. We will be quite busy .” Luz chirped out, causing Amity to sputter.
“Well hot damn! It’s about time! Your mother has been waiting for you two to have another pup. Cami will love this. Ha!” Eda reached out, pulling Luz into a side hug.
Luz nuzzled into Eda, laughing along with her. If there was one thing Luz had taught the Boiling Isles was that affection was a good thing. A natural thing. That there were different types of affection. Romantic, platonic, and familial. That everyone deserves love and affection.
As Luz pulled away, Eda rustled her hair. “Well then, I shouldn’t keep you waiting. Here.” Eda set Amari on the ground. “Say goodbye little pup, King is waiting inside.”
Immediately Luz lifted Amari into her arms. Covering the pup in kisses, as they said their goodbyes. Then the omega passed the pup over to Amity. The alpha repeated the same actions, kissing the halfling before lowering her to the ground.
“Wait! Sire. Scent, scent!” Amari yelled before Amity could set her down.
The alpha knew exactly what the pup was asking for. Amity squeezed the pup, nuzzling into her hair. Scent-marking her daughter. Amari thanked her sire before wiggling free and running back to Eda.
Both Amari and Luz loved to be scent-marked by the alpha. Luz once explained it, being scent-marked was like being surrounded by a warm, familiar, protective blanket.
Amity was happy to give her mate and pup that sense of comfort, of safety, of familiarity. The alphas parents never did anything like that for her. So she was glad to be able to be better for her own daughter.
Luz handed Eda the bag she had packed for Amari. The pup spotted the leg of her plushie toy sticking out of the bag and whined until Eda gave it to her. Still sitting in Eda’s arms, the halfling turned to her sire.
Amari held the plushie out to Amity. “Sire. Naggle too.”
Amity nodded as she took the plush, scent-marking it as well, handing it back to her daughter. Amari squeezed the plush to her and cuddled into Eda’s fluffy hair.
“Thank you, Eda. Really.” Amity said genuinely.
Eda just nodded before turning back towards the Owl House. Amity took Luz’s hand as they turned back to their own home.
“Oh, Luz?” Eda had turned back around, leaning in and lowering her voice, “Amity may be an alpha. But put her in her place .”
A sick, sadistic smile formed on Luz’s lips as she met Eda’s eye line. “Please, if mom taught me anything, it’s where an alpha truly belongs. And I got Amity trained. She knows her place quite well.”
Eda barked out a laugh and she slapped Luz’s shoulder. “Ha! Atta girl! You Nocedas’. You really know how to tame alphas, eh?”
Both Luz and Eda glanced at Amity, who was looking away, but the flush on her cheeks made it obvious she had heard everything.
“Alright kids, get the hell outta here,” Eda joked as she shooed them away.
