The sun began to rise over the ocean, illuminating beach city, splitting the atmospheric layers making the sky dark blue and orange under a layer of yellow at the horizon.
The sunlight shown through the windows of Steven's house.
Steven slept comfortably in his bed, under his covers.
Slowly, he opened his eyes and sat up stretching and yawning, he smacked his lips and his eyes widened.
"It's monday!" He yelled, "Time for the weeklong sleepover!" He continued.
He jumped out of his bed and quickly unbuttoned his yellow "banana" PJ's and took them off, leaving him shirtless, he then took off the leggings.
Normally naked under his pajamas, for optimal comfort, he looked in his drawers for new clothes the clothing was washed and organized perfectly, he chose from the endless choices of clean underwear and hid his genitals as per society and put one of his signiture pink shirts, blue pants and Sandals on.
The Crystal Gems appeared from the temple.
"Oh, you're awake! Good morning Steven." Said Pearl in slight surprise.
"Looks like somebody's excited for their sleepover." said Garnet going to turn on the lights.
"Yeah! I can't wait till Connie gets here!" said Steven excitingly.
"Well, you better get ready." said Pearl.
"Right!" said Steven running off to his bathroom to start his daily routine.
After brushing, gaining the idea to and bathing for the occasion, re-dressing and eating some breakfast, Steven went to his tv and turned it on.
"Crying breakfast friends marathon! I can show Connie!" He said happy.
"Is there anyone you DON'T show that cartoon to?" said Amethyst sitting on the couch.
Pearl cleaned the house obsessively while Garnet leaned against the wall, focused on gem business.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.
"Oh no." said Pearl in disappointment, looking around the dwelling.
Steven quickly ran over and beamed at the sight on the other side of the frame door.
He opened the door, the cool morning sea air hitting him, Connie stood in front of her parents, she wore her white blue striped shirt with long jean pants, her parents were carrying bags of clothes and supplies from the nearby car.
"Connie!" said Steven.
"Hi, Steven!" said Connie.
"Oh, hello!" said Pearl coming up to the door along with Garnet.
"Hello, we spoke over the phone so you should already know the details." said Dr. Maheshwaran.
"Here's clothes for every day of the week" she said handing the bag of clothing to Garnet who took it no question.
"And a nightgown for every night" she said giving another bag.
"Here are some emergency supplies, and essentials", said Doug Maheswaran giving a box to Amethyst as she came over out of curiosity.
"Hey!" she said walking backwards and putting the box down with a thud.
"Now, Connie be good, we'll see you in a week, your father and are going to.." Said Dr. Maheswaran pausing. "Rekindle our love" She said suductively, twirling some of her hair.
Connie blushed.
Steven looked at them and blushed, Pearl covered his eyes.
Amethyst snickered.
Garnet smiled.
"Honey, they're watching...." said Doug.
"Oh!" said Priyanka said clearing her throat, "How very... unprofessional...." she said blushing terribly.
"Save it for the trip lovebirds!" said Amethyst.
"Enjoy your trip" said Garnet smiling always happy to see love.
"We'll be leaving now. Bye Connie!" said Priyanka hugging her and giving her a small kiss on the cheek before walking with Doug, laughing.
Connie came in and the door closed behind her, the car was pulling away from the beach and the Gems had walked away setting the things to the side.
"Wow Connie, I can't believe you're going to be here for a whole week!" said Steven happily, turning to her.
"I know!" Replied Connie, "I put some books in the supplies box that I can't wait to show you!" She continued.
"Maybe we could show Pearl." she continued.
"Sorry kids. We have to go." said Garnet.
"Where?" said Steven turning back along with Connie.
"We have to find an illusive corrupted gem, it's currently at the battlefield but it could drill thousands of miles, in which we'd have to follow it's tunnles, so we might be a while" said Pearl.
"How long?" asked Connie.
"Beats me." said Amethyst.
"A week, is the most likely possibility, we'll try to get home in time for pick up." said Garnet.
"Wait, so we're going to be alone?! No supervision?" said Connie in disbelief.
"Aw, what you're gonna need a babysitter?" taunted Amethyst.
"Amethyst! Well it's true, especially you Steven we've left you alone for days you are pretty capable of living by yourself for a while."- Said Pearl.
"You guys have never been gone a week..." said Steven.
"If anything happens Garnet will know and would warp back or warn us, but she isn't saying anything, right Garnet?" said Pearl.
Garnet froze, looking into the future she saw some things... some acts.... She had to take off her visor and take a good long look at the children, they... they wouldn't...
Sure humans and organic life on earth are nothing but chemical machines "programmed" to find another to love and, if said other is of opposite sex, reproduce but, children?!
"Garnet?" said Pearl.
"Yo! Earth to G" said Amethyst.
Garnet shrugged it off as the most unlikely of possibilities no matter how many times it shows up, "Y- Yeah everything will be fine." said Garnet putting her shades back on hiding her 3 eyes.
"Let's get going before it moves." Said Garnet walking to the warp pad.
"Aww yeah! Action time!" said Amethyst whipping out her cat o' 9 tails and following.
"Alright, well there's plenty of food in the kitchen, a week's worth of everything, don't stay up to late!" said Pearl walking backwards.
"Pearl!" Said Garnet.
"If anything happens go to Greg!" she continued.
"Ugh, c'mon P." said Amethyst shapeshifting a long arm and dragging her forward.
"Bathe as always, don't watch to much tv! Eat healthy! Goodbye Steven we love you! See you in a week!" said Pearl quickly as she was pulled on the warp pad and they warped away.
"So, we're alone.." said Connie.
"Well, we could show the books to Peridot and Lapis, they would love it!" said Steven.
"Oh, are you guys friends?" said Connie.
"Yeah, they live at the barn in the country." said Steven.
"Cool.. My parents would probably want to know that we're alone but they're probably boarding the plane to Paris. " she said.
"Well, wanna watch some crying breakfast friends?" asked Steven.
"Okay, im a little tired hopefully I don't fall asleep." said Connie with a laugh.
"Yeah me too." said Steven.
Connie turned toward the sunlit front window and stretched, reaching up, her eyes closed, a squeak of a yawn, something about this scene made her seem beautiful, in fact Connie seems prettier than usual, nothing has physically changed about her, these feelings are just appearing.
"Race you!" said Connie running up the stairs.
"No fair!' Said Steven giggling with his unique enherited laugh.
"God, he's so cute" thought Connie, "Where did that come from?" she continued looking at him and blushing.
Steven looked back blushing.
The friends seem to be developing some feelings for each other.
They continued towards the Television, walking, and finally sitting on the ground at the foot of Steven's bed.
