Unexpectedly Expecting

Author's Note:
And so this tale of debauchery and depravity continues. If you have not read the previous story, Sleeping With The Enemy, go back and read it first, as otherwise you will be quite confused. In the course of writing this, I realize that I am a sad, depraved excuse for a human being, but at least I'm entertaining, right? Right?? Right???
***********************************************************************************
Ezra Bridger awoke to the smell of food cooking. Unusual in itself, since meals on board the Ghost were usually dehydrated ration packs. The soft bed beneath him was something else unfamiliar. But the one new thing that he was quickly getting used to were the two warm, nude female bodies on either side of him.
His best friend and now lover Sabine Wren was curled up to him, her face buried in his chest, and Maketh Tua, Minister of Lothal and highest-ranking Imperial on the planet, was snuggled up to his back and had an arm draped over both of them. Sure, technically she was more interested in Sabine and only included Ezra because of how the young Mandalorian felt about him, but he wasn't complaining. He was far from forbidden from touching the Minister, and Sabine had actually told him she found it exciting to watch the two people she loved pleasuring one another. The one and only restriction was that Ezra was not to take any action which could impregnate Maketh. As she had explained, getting pregnant without being married would be a scandal her career could never recover from and aside from the posh luxuries her position offered, she was also able to give them valuable intelligence on Imperial supply shipments - things sorely needed not just by the rebels, but by the citizens of Lothal.
But now was not the time to dwell on such things. Sabine was sound asleep, but, if the long, slender arm sliding down his side and around to his erection was any indication, Maketh was not.
"Good morning, Ezra," she said, her soft accent sounding even sexier and more lust-filled than usual.
"Good morning yourself," he replied.
"I see you are, as they say 'up and at it' already." He groaned at her joke. "Let's see if we can have a little fun without waking our lover, shall we?"
"Won't she get mad? I know she likes to watch us, but she won't even know we're doing it....it'd almost be like we're both cheating on her."
"I seriously doubt she'll care; but if she is angry I'll smooth things out." She Slid away from him. "Now, if you please, on your back." He did as she asked and was surprised when she straddled him.
"But...I thought you said..."
"I did, yes, but it has also been a few weeks since this all started, and you have learned a great deal about self-control. I will let you do this, if you promise me you will pull out. Do I have your word?"
"Yes; yes, of course."
"Well, then," she reached down, positioned his shaft and began sinking down. "Let's get to it."
The feeling of being inside her was amazing. She was not as tight as Sabine, likely due to the age difference, but she was obviously a lot more skilled. The movements of her hips were things the young Mando had yet to master, and every now and then Ezra felt her contract her inner muscles in sequence, causing a 'rippling' effect that was driving him insane. I have to get her to teach that to Sabine....
For Maketh's part, she was feeling something she hadn't experienced since her Academy days. The sensation of a man inside her, rather than cold rubber or plastic, was akin to a glitterstim addict being given a dose after a decade of being clean. She could feel every ridge, bump and vein on his shaft, and as the flared head moved in and out, stretching her in beautiful, natural ways none of her toys could ever manage, she knew she was going to let him do this again. Might have to get that birth control after all, even if a loose-lipped doctor does cause me trouble.
Ezra's grunting and Maketh's moaning stirred Sabine from her sleep. Blinking her eyes a few times, she was more than a little shocked to see her girlfriend riding her boyfriend for all she was worth. And as she watched, she began to smile. These were the two people she loved more than anything else in the galaxy, and seeing them together made her happy. It reassured her that one wasn't going to be jealous of the other and that they could give of themselves to each other freely, just as each did with her. But she also felt a pang of sadness.
One day, this will have to end, she thought. As good a person as she is, Maketh will never fully join our side. She's too loyal to the Empire. And we won't always be able to stay on Lothal. I'll still have Ezra when that happens, but she's going to be all alone.
A pale-skinned hand caressing one of her small breasts brought her back to the present. Maketh looked down at her, smiling, and Sabine couldn't help but smile back. "Why don't you join us, dearie?" the older woman asked.
Stretching a bit, Sabine threw her leg over Ezra's head, pushing her shaven mound over his mouth. He began licking her automatically and she was once again impressed with how quickly he had picked up that skill. Leaning forward, she was able to press her breasts against his belly and lick his shaft along with Maketh's well-stuffed vagina, driving both of her lovers closer to the brink.
After another few minutes, Maketh climbed off of the boy. "Sabine, I think he's about to blow." Taking the hint, the Mando took her lover's place atop Ezra and shoved him in her to the hilt in one go. They rocked together for a few minutes, with Maketh suckling and massaging Sabine's breasts, until they hit their mutual climax and he spilled his potent seed within her young womb. "As hot as that is to watch, aren't you worried about getting pregnant? At your age?"
Sabine shook her head. "Not one bit. It's Ezra, after all. Why wouldn't I want the baby of the man I love?" As if to prove her point, she leaned in and kissed him. "What about you? You didn't finish yet."
"Oh, it's not a problem. You two are here for the rest of the day. I'll just make up for it later."
"Oh, no you don't. You're getting it now." Sabine pushed her down on the bed and started kissing and sucking every inch of the woman's body she could. Lips, neck, breasts, navel - she learned early on that a tongue in there drove Maketh mad - and down to the woman's hot, dripping core. As Sabine licked the inner lips, she could swear she could still taste Ezra. Sensing her lover was sufficiently wet, she flipped over on her back and brought her groin to Maketh's. Ever since that day by the pond, that had become their favorite position and they tried to do it at least once during each visit to the mansion.
Maketh loved it when Sabine was dominant with her. Sometimes she wondered why the girl was so submissive when it came to Ezra but, then again, Mandalorians were a strange bunch. She arched her back as her climax began, and Sabine changed her angle so that she was now standing firmly on the bed and pulling Maketh up to her. The blonde locked her legs around Sabine as her body tensed and her mouth opened in a silent scream. Sabine's was not so silent, however, the the glass face on the bedside timepiece cracked as she rode out her orgasm.
The girls lay back down on the bed, Ezra looking on with what had to be the galaxy's most perverted smile. As much as they just wanted to lay there and enjoy one another's company, it was not to last. One of the servants rang the bedside intercom, announcing that breakfast was ready.
Sighing, Maketh reached up and pressed the switch. "Alright, Kali. We'll be down shortly." She stood up and started to walk out the door.
"Wait," Ezra said. "Aren't you going to get dressed?"
"No. She wants us down so soon, she's getting us as-is." She walked out the door, Sabine following suit in her birthday suit, and all Ezra could do was sigh and look for his pants.
***********************************************************************************
Breakfast was as great a feast as Ezra had ever seen, even in the time since he and his girlfriend had been spending so much time with Maketh. Plate-sized omelettes, grilled fish filets, bowls of fresh fruit, sugary cakes drizzled with honey and a large, cold pitcher of juice from the Mandalorian oranges. Ezra couldn't figure out if the fact that Maketh, Sabine and the serving girls were naked made it better or worse.
As they ate, Maketh watched the two carefully. It was true; she was head-over-heels in love with Sabine. Ezra was a nice boy, as well, and he did not slouch in the pleasure department, so everyone got to have their fun. But Maketh had not been idly hedonistic these past few weeks. She was a lot of things, but rarely careless, and once she had all of the pieces, she just had to wait for the right moment.
Now, she decided. Now is the time.
"So, Ezra," she said, "how is your Jedi training coming along?"
Sabine choked on a piece of fish and Ezra shot orange juice out his nose.
"How," Sabine coughed, "do you....know...?"
"It wasn't difficult to figure out, really. Even if Lothal were crawling with Mandalorians, there's only one that is that obsessed with the color pink, dear Sabine."
"Katma'iye," Sabine said under her breath.
"And secondly....well, you really need to cover that ass of yours better, little one. I would be hard-pressed to not recognize that hot little thing."
Ezra shrugged. "It does look pretty good in those pants..."
"And you weren't exactly stealthy yourself, Ezra. Once I realized Sabine was one of the 'unidentified rebels' we've been chasing, it wasn't a great leap to figure that her mysterious 'friends' were, as well. And as I looked back through the surveillance recordings, I of course recognized you. You really must be more aware of holocams. I have seen you do some amazing things - things only a Jedi would be capable of. Now, we knew that a Jedi was involved with the rebels, but you are far too young to have been in the Clone Wars, so it's safe to assume that another Jedi survived and is teaching you. Did I miss anything?"
Ezra sighed. "No; no, you pretty much got it. So what happens now?"
"Well, first, we finish breakfast and have a shower. Then we're going to go on a nice, long walk around my garden - I planted some Muja fruit bushes the other day and I'd love for you to see them. After that, well, I don't really have anything planned. Oh, but I do have a new datacard for your friends. There's a shipment of portable water recyclers being rerouted from the southern colonies to the Stormtrooper barracks and I think the good folks in Tarkintown would put them to much better use, don't you agree?"
Sabine was shocked. "You're...not going to turn us in?"
"Oh, heavens no! I've said many times that you are doing what is right by the people and I will not stand in your way. You have killed Imperial troops and officers, yes, but you were being fired upon. And, really, your body count is insanely low, despite the sheer number of explosives you've used." She popped a piece of a Sihan peach into her mouth and chewed.
Ezra blinked. "I...I don't understand...."
"You will. When the time is right."
***********************************************************************************
The following day, back on the Ghost, Hera was going over the datacard. The information was good, but what Ezra and Sabine had told her about Maketh's revelation was troubling. Kanan agreed.
"She knows too much," he said. "We got sloppy and she's become dangerous. We have to end this, right now."
"Can we really? I doubt Ezra and Sabine will just stop going to see her, and if she wanted to turn us over she could have by now. She has enough to nail us all. I think she's playing us, yes, but not to hurt us. She wants to fix the corruption on Lothal, but can't act directly. So she feeds us info and has us do her dirty work. And there's no doubt that the homeless and destitute have been a lot better off thanks to her intel."
"And if she decides one day that we're no longer useful? What then?"
"I don't know, love....I don't know."
***********************************************************************************
Sabine and Ezra crouched behind a rock formation, she in her armor and he in his usual outfit with the precaution of a swoop biker's helmet with the tinted face shield covered his features. After what Maketh said, he had no desire to be on any more holocams. A couple of kilometers away to the west, Hera had the Ghost waiting above the cloud cover and Kanan and Zeb were bringing the Phantom in from the east. When the signal was given, the two ships would dive in and blow out part of the ground in front of the transport. Kanan would come in low and drop Zeb onto the transport to be joined by Ezra and Sabine in taking out the guards. One done, the recyclers would be loade dinto the Ghost and the mission would be accomplished.
Seems like a routine job, Ezra thought to himself. So why am I so nervous? Am I really worried about Maketh betraying us?
Sabine tapped her helmet, which got his attention, and they peered around the rocks. The transport was just barely in sight and approaching the mark. She activated her comm. "Specter 5 to Specter 1 and 2; visual on target. Get ready for your attack run."
"Specter 2 here; roger."
"Specter 1, I copy. Weapons are hot."
The next few seconds were a blur. Right on time, the Ghost and Phantom dove out of the clouds, weapons blazing, and set off the demolition charges Sabine had placed earlier, which blew a large chunk out of the ground. It was too late for the transport to stop. The front end crashed down into the hole, its repulsorlifts slamming against the edge and rendering them useless. The Phantom swooped in, Zeb leaping from the hatch to land on the transport and opening fire on the guards that crawled from the wreckage. The two teenagers leaped from their hiding place and provided cover fire.
There were less than two dozen Stormtroopers on board, plus the drivers and two junior officers who were apparently there to offload the recyclers. Zeb was shooting most of the troops, knocking the few that got close into the hole, and Ezra's stun bolts made quick work of the drivers. Sabine popped off two troopers that were trying to come at Zeb from behind, then the two juniors as they drew holdout blasters. It was over in less than a minute.
Most of the troops were still alive, though unable to put up much of a fight, and the Ghost came in low, cargo ramp open. Zeb and Chopper took care of offloading the recyclers while the teens climbed aboard the Ghost and went to the guns, just in case reinforcements arrived. But none did.
The drop-off was uneventful, as well. No ambushes, no last-minute con jobs....just an unusually-large pile of credits. When asked where the small fortune came from, the people of Tarkintown merely said that a stranger they had never seen before had dropped off the case and said it was to be given to someone later that day who would be bringing them a gift.
"I don't like it," Hera said as they flew away. "It's obvious the credits came from Maketh. The Minister of Lothal just paid us to rob the Empire....do I even need to say how wrong that sentence sounds?"
Kanan sighed. "I think, as much as I hate to admit it, it proves her story. Those recyclers are expensive - not chump change like the food and clothes we'd been raiding before. And the credits she left for us will keep us in fuel and food for more than a year. And Ezra hasn't been sensing any duplicity from her. It's possible that she's on the up-and-up."
The Twi'lek shook her head. "I still don't like it."
"Can't argue wi' th' results, though," Zeb added, dipping his hands into the crate and letting the credits fall through his fingers.
"Learn to have a little more faith in people, Hera. There were good people among the Separatists, and bad people in the Republic. There were even a few bad people among the Jedi. Remind me to tell you about Bariss Offee sometime." He leaned in and kissed her on the lips, which made Zeb flinch.
"Oi, do the two o' ya have ta be doin' that out in th' open now? I swear, everyone on this boat's gettin' laid but me." He looked at Chopper. "Well, us." Chopper warbled. "...That was more information about th' hyperdrive than I needed..."
***********************************************************************************
Due to her appointment schedule, it was more than two weeks before Maketh was able to see her young lovers again. But the teens had more than enough to keep them busy.
When Zeb returned to the quarters he shared with Ezra, he found the boy packing up boxes and carrying them out. "Hey - what's goin' on? You ain't throwin' out my stuff, are ya?"
"Nope. This is all my stuff. And I'm moving it."
"To where?"
"Across the corridor."
"Ye've gone nuts, boy. That's Sabine's roo.......oh."
Ezra blushed. "Yeah...she kinda asked me to...move in."
At that moment the Mando girl popped in the door. She was wearing a black tube top and matching knee-length leggings. She smiled at the shocked look on Zeb's face. "C'mon, big guy. Even you had to see this one coming." She leaned against the doorway, one bare foot propped up against the wall.
"Well....I mean...it makes sense....now that I think about it...but....."
"But what?" Ezra asked.
Zeb didn't even bother trying to hide the tear in his eye. "I was just startin' ta get used ta ya."
"It's not like I'm leaving the planet - just changing where I sleep. I'll still come by to hang out and beat you at Sabacc."
Zeb sniffled. "Awww....I always let ya win. Good fer yer confidence."
Ezra smiled and hugged the Lasat. "For what it's worth....you were a great roommate."
"You too, kid. C'mon; I'll give ya a hand."
After the last items were transferred, Zeb went back to the common room and sat on the couch. He had been sitting there, silently, for more than an hour when Kanan walked by. "Zeb, why aren't you in your quarters? I'd have thought you'd want to drink a bottle of ale, throw up and pass out in celebration."
"Normally I would, but...it's just too quiet without th' kid."
"What do you mean?"
"I thought you knew; he moved all his stuff into Sabine's room."
Kanan's face twisted into pure anger. "EEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!"
The name echoed throughout the ship. "Well, Kanan found out. You really should have told him and Hera first, you know."
Ezra shrugged. "If there's one thing I've learned from this crew, it's that it's better to ask forgiveness than permission. Besides, it was your idea."
"I only suggested it because I knew you wouldn't."
"What makes you so sure?"
Sabine wrapped her arms around his neck. "Because, Ezra Bridger, you're too much of a gentleman to suggest such a thing, and it's one of the things I love about you." She kissed him on the lips, opening her mouth as his tongue begged for entry. They stood like that for a short time. "We'd better go talk to them; there's no way he'll kill both of us."
In the common room, the rest of the crew had already gathered. "Ezra, we have really got to stop having conversations that involve me telling you that you shouldn't have done something."
"Hey - it's not like the Dark Side compelled me to move in with her. It just kinda seemed....well...logical, at this point."
Zeb shrugged. "He has a point, Kanan. At least they have privacy. I really don't need ta walk in on 'em playin' hide-the-salami in the engine room again."
".....Well, I can't argue with that....but why didn't you two just tell us you were planning this?"
"I just kinda figured you expected it," the boy said.
"And I was the one who suggested it, so he's not totally to blame."
Hera glared at her. "No, he's not. You're just as much at fault as he is." She looked at Sabine's outfit. And you could have at least put some clothes on before you came out here.."
"Hey - I'm wearing clothes! Unfortunately."
"I don't know what's gotten into you lately, Sabine," the Twi'lek said, sitting down, "but it worries me. You hardly wear anything around the ship anymore, and more than once I've seen you walking to the refresher at night naked."
The girl frowned. "Look, I just like being naked. I always have. Back on Mandalore, everyone was so stuck-up and prudish with those fancy dresses and frilly shirts. They were hot and itchy and sweaty and I just hated them. It was considered a big scandal if someone wasn't wearing her gloves in public, or if a dress revealed just an inch of the leg. It wasn't any better at the Academy, with those awful, frumpy, itchy uniforms that smelled like a sani-steam. I'd look forward to the nights my roommates were out partying so I could ditch my pajamas and sleep naked. There were nights I'd slip out of my house or the barracks, find someplace deserted and strip, right then and there. And when I came to Lothal I found people a lot more relaxed, but not by enough. I've used that docking ring trick more than once to slip out and take my clothes off. Usually I wouldn't go far from the ship - just far enough to be alone - but taking a stroll in the nude during a full moon is just so magical I can't explain it." Sabine grinned wickedly. "And then there was the night after Ezra built his lightsaber. By that point I already knew I wanted him, and seeing him with the weapon he built with his own hands....it thrilled me in a way I'd never felt before. So I slipped out that night, got right under the part of the ship where I knew his bunk was, stripped down," she licked her lips, "and pleasured myself. All. Night. Long."
Everyone's eyes went wide. "Okay," Hera said, "that's enough."
"Oh, but I'm not even to the best part. I haven't told you the things I pictured him doing to me. Ripping my clothes off. Throwing me to the ground. Taking me, marking me, making me his and his alone. Filling me over and over again with his seed until I was fit to burst, making sure I was carrying his child. I came so hard and so often that night I thought I was going to break. I'm a very, very bad girl - always have been. I've just decided not to hide it anymore. And Ezra and I are going to share my cabin. If you won't let us, then we'll just leave the ship."
"WHAT?!" Everyone, including Ezra, was shocked by this.
"You heard me. I'm not going to deny it anymore. I'm not even my own person, now. I've given myself to him, mind, body, heart and soul. He has a house in the city, after all. We can live there. I am his property, and I won't let anyone stand in the way of me serving my Master."
Ezra shook his head. "Look, Sabine, I want us to be together, too, but this is going a little far. There's got to be something other than this all-or-nothing approach. I thought us moving in together would make things easier on everyone, not start a fight."
"Oh, it's not us Hera's upset about."
"Then what is it, you think?" Hera said, crossing her arms.
"Simple: Maketh."
"You're on thin ice here, Sabine..." Kanan warned her.
"I'm not here to hurt anyone, Kanan. I'm just calling it as I see it. Hera doesn't trust Maketh. Period. Despite all she's done to help us - and not just the raids; she helped Ezra and I get together, unless you forgot - and that pile of credits in the cargo hold, you still can't believe she's being straight with us."
"We just can't be sure, Sabine! Sure, Ezra hasn't caught her lying but he isn't exactly a Jedi Master, and you know better than anyone how Imperials are trained to resist mind probes and interrogation at the Academy."
"Alright, then - let Kanan meet her. Surely he's strong enough to tell."
"That's a bad idea and you know it. If there's one thing the Imperials would be this patient to wait for, it'd be for Kanan to walk into their hands. It's bad enough she knows about Ezra. We can't have you compromising our mission because of your hormones!"
"Hera, that's enough!" Kanan yelled. "Look, this entire situation is tense, and yes she is acting out, but right now you're being too hard on her. Early mistakes aside, Sabine and Ezra have been as careful as they can with this and they wouldn't do anything to put us in harm's way. Yes, they should have told us they wanted to share quarters - there was no need to ask because I wouldn't have said 'no' - and maybe Sabine could show off her chest a little less around this ship, but this...this isn't helping."
Ezra stood up. "This wasn't a good idea, Sabine. I'm sorry. I'm going to move my stuff back into Zeb's room, at least for a while. When everyone's calmer, we can sit down and discuss it. All of us." He started to walk away, but Kanan grabbed his arm.
"Hold on, Ezra." He unlocked a storage cabinet with the Force and extracted Ezra's lightsaber, placing it in the boy's hand. "You just earned this back. I'm proud of you." Ezra nodded, then left the room. Kanan did likewise, motioning for Zeb and Chopper to follow.
Sabine started to go after him, but Hera stopped her. "Oh, no you don't. Now you listen here; yes, you were right about what's bothering me and maybe I was wrong to take it out on you, but you wouldn't have reacted the way you did unless something was bothering you. Now, spill it."
"Is it so hard to believe that I just want to be happy? To have my beloved, my Master, sleeping next to me every night after he has sated himself with me?"
"Honestly? Yes. I may be a Twi'lek, Sabine, but that doesn't mean I want to be someone's slave."
"Well, maybe I do. He completes me; I need him in my life. I love Maketh, too, but there will come a day when I have to part with her and I will be sad but I'll still have Ezra. Through it all, I know he'll be there for me. He won't abandon me, or frame me for something he did, or sell me out, or run off and leave me for some other woman..."
Suddenly, Hera understood. "Sabine...you've seen these things happen to others and you don't want them to happen to you. I get that. When I was growing up I saw my friends being sold into slavery one by one. Some were lucky and just ended up being glorified maids, but others weren't so fortunate. They were beaten, berated, made to to unspeakable things...."
"Ezra won't be that way!"
"I know he won't - he's too good a person. But what I'm trying to get at here is that you've tried so hard your entire life to not be a victim. You learned to fight, you taught yourself explosives, you became one of the best shots with a blaster that I've ever seen. And now you see Ezra, a Jedi in training, who's every bit your equal and some day will likely surpass you. Now I don't doubt that you do love him, but I'm worried that your obsession with this is going to be your undoing."
"How? How will it be my undoing?"
"What will happen if Ezra dies? If you devote yourself to his every whim, his every command, and then you lose him, how will you continue?"
"If that day comes, we would likely die together, side by side, as warriors. And if I survived I couldn't live without him." She looked up. "Just like you couldn't live without Kanan. You love him as much as I love Ezra. I choose to devote myself to Ezra because I love him. I want to make him happy."
"So ask yourself this: Does Ezra want a lover, or a slave?"
Sabine didn't have an answer for that.
"I can see it in his eyes; you're worrying him. Sabine, he fell in love with you not just because you're a hot piece of ass. He fell in love with you because of your determination, your fighting spirit, your warrior's heart. If you change all of that and become a meek, submissive little slave girl who only does what she is told, will he still love you?"
Again, she didn't have an answer.
"Just as I thought. You want him to dominate you, to own you, but you never stopped to think if that's what he wants. Oh, sure, the sex is fantastic right now - don't give me that look; there's not a soundproof room in this ship - but what if he decides one day that he's tired of a girl who just lays there and takes it?"
"He won't leave me. I'll do whatever he wants, be whatever he wants, to make sure he doesn't." She drew her knees up to her chest. "I won't be abandoned." Her eyes began to tear up.
Hera couldn't stop herself; she reached out and hugged the girl. "Believe it or not, Sabine, I know exactly how you feel. I just...I had to be sure."
"S-sure of what?"
"That you weren't being drugged, or coerced, or that, heaven forbid, Ezra was using a Mind Trick on you. But....but I'm sure now. And you're sure? This is what you want?" Sabine nodded. "Alright. Go to Ezra and tell him not to pack up. If you two want to live together, none of us will stop you."
"What if we want to live somewhere else? Like at Ezra's old home, or the old comm tower, or with Maketh?"
Hera sighed. "That would...complicate things. I won't lie; I still don't completely trust Maketh. But I will admit things have gone more smoothly with her help. But...if you and Ezra really want to live like a couple, on your own, that's your decision. We can't force you to stay here."
Sabine nodded. "We'd be there whenever you needed us, of course." She looked into the Twi'lek's eyes. "We'd never abandon you."
"I believe you. Now, got talk to Ezra, and when you're done, come back here. We'll all discuss what to do next."
***********************************************************************************
It was several hours before a decision was reached. Kanan spoke first.
"It's obvious that to avoid tension, Sabine and Ezra are going to require a great deal of privacy. It has been proposed that the two move into the house Ezra grew up in. Legally, the Empire never repossessed it when his parents were killed, and by law of inheritance it belongs to him - not that anyone would challenge it. They will, however, still be considered members of this crew, and we will keep Sabine's quarters open for them. Does anyone object to this?" No-one spoke. "Ezra, Sabine, are you aware of the responsibility you are taking on?"
Ezra gripped Sabine's hand tightly. "I do, Kanan. But you're right; the two of us being here, as we are, would just cause more problems. We won't be far away, we can still help whenever a mission comes up, and I'll keep up my exercises as I promised. And whenever you say so, I'll report back here for training."
Hera, looking a little sad, said, "In a way, this is my fault. My suspicions and my anger have driven a wedge between this crew, and we're never going to be exactly the same after this. I just want to apologize. I never meant to destroy our family."
Sabine walked over and hugged her. "You didn't destroy anything, Hera. It was going to happen eventually; Ezra and I need our own space now. I know, more than once, we've kept you guys from sleeping."
Kanan shrugged. "Well, Hera and I usually weren't sleeping any--"
He was cut off by Hera's elbow slamming into his gut. "Not now."
"Yes, dear." He tilted his chair back to rest it on the two rear legs, his hands folded behind his head.
"The point I'm trying to make is I don't want this to be the end of us all being together, and you can still stay here if you want. We can soundproof the room, and....if you want, I'm sure we could even get used to you running around naked."
Sabine shook her head. "No, that would make things worse, though the gesture is appreciated. If we stay....I'll just make sure to wear something, even if I'm sure everyone's asleep."
"Though that's not entirely fair to you. I see now that's a part of who you are. It would be like telling you you could only paint in your quarters and never show it to anyone. As much as I hate to admit it...this is the best way."
Zeb sniffed. "I'm gonna miss you guys. Promise me you'll come back now an' then for a visit?"
"Sure will, big guy," Sabine said as she and Ezra hugged him. "Oh, Hera....one more thing."
"What's that?"
"Well, I kind of want Kanan to do us a favor, before we leave."
"What?"
"I want him to marry us."
There was a soft "thump" as Kanan lost his balance and fell backwards onto the deckplates.

Maketh looked at the printout in front of her, tears streaming down her face and her hand over her mouth. "This...this can't be right...it's impossible..."
"I am sorry, Madame Minister, but the tests do not lie," replied the 2-1B medical droid in front of her. "I have checked for every virus, bacteria, parasite and toxin that could account for your symptoms. The insomnia, nausea, vomiting, muscle pains, cramps and headaches all point to one source. This is, I am afraid, the only answer. Would you like to engage privacy protocols for five hundred additional credits and have all memory and record of this visit removed from my databank once I am clear of the premises?"
"What? Oh, yes; yes, of course." She pulled a credit chip from her pocket and gave it to the droid.
"Privacy protocols engaged. Files marked for deletion. Good day, Minister."
As the droid left, Maketh flopped down in her overstuffed chair. She read and reread the report, hoping that it was wrong. But it wasn't. She didn't know how, or why, but the proof was right there. Tears began flowing down her face, staining the printout.
"I'm pregnant," she said aloud.
