Notes: A short drabble I wrote today for the Cybertron 100 themes challenge at Y!Gallery. It's a sort of continuation of my fic Mistakes, picturing Starscream and SKywarp as well.
Disclaimer: I don't own Transformers. I dont make money out of this work. Love It had started with TC's deactivation. Really, it had been very slow and insidious, so none of them realized what was happening until it was already in motion, and deeply implanted in their sparks and Core Programming. It had been six months since TC died in a terrible explosion, bringing with him three Autobots. He died a hero, and Starscream managed to convinced Megatron he deserved a Hero's Funeral. But it had been a very hard hit, harder than any they had to go through during the War. Skywarp had been a mess, Starscream had to piece him back together so he won't have lost two Wing mates in one day. It took time and attention, and despite what Skywarp did to him the first night after TC's death, he didn't abandoned him. They only had the two of them now, and no one else to rely on. And in the ends, it was probably why the friendship, deep comradship, turned to something even deeper. Little hints at first, easily explainable, or mistakable for something else. Holding a hand unconsciously, a little friendly kiss on the cheek, a word of encouragement or comfort... All those things weren't that current on the Decepticons ranks, but seekers were known to be very special, unique creatures. TC's death broke Skywarp's Spark more efficiently than anything else could've done, leaving a broken heap of a seeker behind. Starscream, as his wingmate and Commander, and friend as well when he needed to be, thought natural to be the one to pull him back to his feet, and piece the broken parts of his spark. They were going to be Sparkmates once the war was over, the dark Seeker had explained to him. They were going to have a home and sparklings. Lots of sparklings! Skywarp wanted a lot of them running around. But this dream had been shattered in the blink of an optic when that damn Nuclear Power Plant exploded with his beloved Thundercracker still inside, tangled with the Autobot Twins. At least, he brought them into the Pits with him... Skywarp had cried a lot, and Starscream often came to him top comfort him and help him put it back together so he won't be seen as weak by his Decepticon's comrades. Because for the Decepticons, love was a weakness, probably the greatest of all. If Megatron ever learn that Skywarp and TC were lovers and intended on bonding someday, he'd have them slagged. He'd make a example out of them so the other Decepticons won't even think about falling for such a petty thing as love. But Starscream wouldn't have let him execute them, never. Not for something like that. Something that was a tiny speck of light in that infinite darkness that was the War, and a spot of Heaven in the middle of a pack of wolves. In his own way, the Decepticon Air Commander and SIC cares a lot for his trine mates. He protected them and covered for them a lot of times, finding it to be the right thing to do. To protect something as beautiful as what the two seekers had share for so long. But that light had been extinguished... For a long time, it appeared like it would never light up again, that Skywarp was truly and completely slagged, but he was wrong. And he was the one to light up the fire once again from the dead ashes of the dark seeker's spark. It hadn't been a conscious thing, no. It grew slowly over the last few months. But today, as they were both tangled in Starscream's berth in the afterglow of a intense overload and spark merging, there was no mistaking it for something else again. They loved each other, truly madly deeply. Already half-recharging, Skywarp whispered in Starscream's audio those three words that would seal their fate together for now on.
