It had been six years since Aang defeated Fire Lord Ozai. Since then for the most part the old group had gone their separate ways to fulfill their respective duties though they still kept in touch through messenger hawks and such. That is, of course, except for Aang and Katara, who had started going out as a couple ever since that fateful day. Things had gone well for them until recently though. Aang and Katara were now both of age and the time had come to discuss taking their relationship to the next level. Unfortunately Aang was still uneasy about the idea of marriage. He feared that ,as the Avatar, his earthly and spiritual duties would only serve to hinder any possible long term relationship between them. Katara, feeling offended by Aang's apparent feat of commitment , proceeded to throw him out of their home in Ba Sing Se saying that she never wanted to see him again. With nowhere to go Aang could only stop by the local restaurant to get something to eat and clear his head.
"Just give me the usual," Aang requested to the waiter.
"Sure thing Mr. Avatar," the waiter agreed, "It's always an honor to serve you."
The waiter promptly headed into the kitchen to prepare Aang's food leaving the young man to his thoughts.
"How am I going to explain my feelings to Katara?" he asked himself, "I know she wants to get married to me, but... it's just too risky! How can I make her see that?"
Aang continued to run over different ideas for getting Katara back when a somewhat familiar voice interrupted his planning.
"Hey Twinkle-Toes!" it called out to him, Long time no see!"
"Twinkles-Toes..." Aang repeated to himself, "There's only one person who's ever called me that..."
"I haven't seen you in a few years! It's me Toph!" the voice then confirmed what he already knew.

To say that she had developed since he had last seen her would've been the understatement of the century. She was an absolute bombshell. The girl had grown quite a bit taller now. Aang could only sigh in defeat. She was right. Though he had gotten taller he really hadn't bulked up much if it all. With a loving girlfriend and the ability to bend all four elements the need to workout really had not presented itself to him.
"I guess I am," Aang admitted.
"Don't worry about it," Toph consoled him taking the seat next to him, "After the way you saved the world I've learned to appreciate guys like you. I'm sure guys like you probably tend to be the best lovers too. Speaking of which where's Katara? I was sure I'd find the two of you together."

"I know she threw me out too..."

"I know... she was really upset... I'm gonna need some time to figure out how to make things right with her"
"So where are you going to stay until then?"
"I wasn't really sure. I guess I was originally planning on sleeping outside..."
"Nonsense! I'm staying at the local inn. You can share a room with me!"
"I'm not sure if that'd be right... I mean I have Katara..."
"She kicked you out right?"
"Yeah..."
Then she has no right to complain if you stay with another girl! Let's go!"
Without giving him another chance to object Toph took Aang by the wrist and hauled him out of the building. The waiter who was finally coming out with Aang's meal could only watch his customer leave in confusion.
Coming from a rich family it was only natural that Toph would be able to get a room at one of the highest floors in one of the finest inns in the Earth Kingdom capital. The room had a single bed for two with fine paints and sculptures decorating the room. There was a single window offering a fantastic view of the city in the night. Taking a seat on the bed besides Toph Aang took the time to explain to his friend what happened with Katara.
"That's a shame," Toph remarked, "I can at least see where your concerns are coming from though."
"I just wish I knew how to make her understand that..." Aang responded with hints of depression in his voice, "I just won't know what to do."
Toph looked at the boy sitting next to her with his head hung in shame. Before long a mischievous smile worked its way onto the girl's face.
