Disclaimer: I do not own Wakfu. Nor am I making any money off of the brillian characters therein. I only make them do dirty dirty things. |
NOTE: This first fic is all about the warm and fuzzies. It takes place during season one when their love is still blooming lol Chapter two = BRING ON THE SMUT! xD
It was awkward at first, the two of them not really knowing what do or say, eerily aware of each other’s proximity beneath the giant fur blanket Tristepin had made. Neither of them could look at each other, the silence heavy and tense. Evangelyne was the first one to break. “Thank you, Pinpin.” She said softly, smiling in a way that was almost nervous. Shy. It was so different from her usually stern or confident demeanor that Tristepin almost didn’t know how to reply. But of course, his mouth and brain had a decent arrangement worked out, one taking over for the other in times like this. “What sort of knight would I be if I couldn’t at least keep my beautiful Evangelyne warm?” For good measure, and maybe for emphasis, he carefully wrapped an arm around her shoulders. She tensed at first, seemingly unsure of how to react, but then, thankfully, she relaxed into his half embrace, sighing against his touch, the added warmth of his closeness. “Your Evangelyne?” She whispered, happy that it was dark enough to hide the blush surely spreading across her cheeks. To cover her tracks, she added under her breath, “Iop brain,” though the words were muffled and came across as more of a compliment than usual. He chuckled against her, breath leaving him in puffs of white. “Only if it suits you,” He said at last, throwing in a sigh of obvious mock disappointment. “I guess I could be content with simply keeping you out of harm’s way.” “You keep me safe?” She scoffed. “You get into more trouble than all of us put together.” The words that left him felt surprisingly crest-fallen, though he hid it well. “That might be true, but I always get us out of it, yeah?” They were both laughing softly now. “Yeah, you do.” Without even realizing it, they’d scooted closer, Evangelyne leaning her head against his shoulder almost out of reflex, surprised by how comfortable she was in his arms. The silence that followed was less awkward but still strange, nice but waiting for something. Hoping for something, a move neither was reckless enough to make. “Everything will work out, won’t it?” Evangelyne heard her own voice break the silence without realizing her brain had given the words the okay. She blushed, this sudden concern making her feel weak, insecure. Doubtful. Why it bothered her so much for Tristepin to see her like this, she didn’t understand. Nor could she fathom why being around him brought this side of her out at all. It was like, on some level, she wanted him to protect her, and on a whole other level completely, she wanted to be the one to protect him. She wanted to know that, despite his antics and poor judgment, he would be safe. Because she was there to make it so. His answer was delayed, but still confident. “It will,” he said, and when she looked up at him, he was staring off into the distance, eyes brazen and determined, just like an Iop. Then he looked back down at her and her heart practically stopped. “Everything will be fine in the end, I know it will.” He seemed so certain she almost believed him. “But how do you know?” She hated how argumentative she sounded, but she couldn’t help it. Optimism only got one so far. Tristepin just shrugged. “I just do. I feel it.” He smiled at her. “With a team as strong as ours? There’s no doubt in my mind. And there’s nothing in the world dangerous enough to keep me from protecting you. Not even Nox.” “I-I can take care of myself.” She stammered, flustered. Tristepin just grinned wider. “Then surely we’re unstoppable.” She didn’t know what to say to that, really. In fact, staring back into those unwavering eyes, that smile that held every ounce of his motivation and strength, she found herself unable to say anything at all. And instead, she found herself leaning forward, Tristepin’s eyes widening slightly before he followed suit, the kiss sudden and sweet and over far too quickly. Evangelyne put a hand to her mouth, fingers barely tracing her tingling lips before she shot to her feet. “I’m sorry, I… I have to go or… something, I-” “Wait!” Tristepin followed her up, the blanket falling into the snow as he grabbed for her wrist. “Don’t go.” She hesitated, heart pounding impatiently against her rib cage, but eventually turned back to face him. “Please?” He added, offering her what he hoped was an apologetic smirk. She frowned, confused by how much she wanted to stay and frustrated that she couldn’t just do it. She opened her mouth to speak, but was instantly cut off by the look on Pinpin’s face, the look so full of desire and warmth that she was left breathless. So much so that she was practically defenseless as he began to pull her back towards him, lifting the blanket off the floor and wrapping her into him, their faces only inches apart, noses almost touching. “I like you, Evangelyne,” he whispered, all seriousness, which was something she was far from used to, something she didn’t know how to handle... or counteract. “Right here.” “Okay,” she replied almost out of reflex, watching his gaze travel between her eyes and her lips, like he couldn’t decide where to look; chivalry or desire. It was almost mesmerizing, that inner conflict, and soon she found herself responding, covering the distance between the two of them in a breath, letting herself give in… just for a little while. This time, the kiss was more expected, starting off slowly, lips settling against each other, the two of them breathing in time with one another, but then, as if the tightening of Tristepin’s arms around her waist was the cue, the kiss grew heavier, needier. Eva reached up, fingers scratching lightly at the nape of his neck before tangling themselves in long, orange strands, coppery and bold in the semi darkness. “Eva,” He murmured against her lips, the warm vibration and heat of his breath making her shiver in a way that had nothing to do with the chill outside the blanket. But it also woke her up, reminded her of where they were, what they were doing instead of what they should be. Still, even as she raised her hands to his chest to push him away, she found herself unable. No… Unwilling. So she did something no rightly trained Cra would do. She let her guard down. She pressed into him and breathed him in and bunched the cross of his shirt with her grip and when she felt him lick tentatively at her barely parted lips, she allowed the kiss to deepen, allowed their tongues to dance together, allowed their hands to explore. She could feel his touch like wildfire, the trail of his fingertips leaving an electric shock along too warm skin. Suddenly she was dizzy, though whether it was the situation or the lack of air from the kiss, she couldn’t tell. Either way, she found herself stumbling back, blinking dazedly at a heavy lidded Tristepin, his hands refusing to move from the small of her back. She blinked again as though it could make the moment less fuzzy, less unbelievable. It didn’t. “I can’t,” she mumbled, and while she might have found it difficult for the haze to lift, those words were enough to bring Tristepin’s world back into focus. Though not quickly enough to stop her from escaping the confines of the blanket, it seemed. “W-wait?” He tried, holding a hand out towards her already disappearing form, wondering what he’d done wrong. He watched her until she was out of his line of sight, waiting until then to drop cross-legged into the snow with a dejected, frost covered sigh. “Some Knight of the Order of the Guardian of the Shushu you are.” He grumbled, elbows balanced on his knees and face cradled in his hands. He was thankful, suddenly, that he’d chosen to leave Rubilax back with the others, sure that the beast would have a number of things to say right now. None of which he’d be willing to listen to in silen- The feel of her lips gently grazing his cheek was like a balm to his nerves, his heart steadying while simultaneously feeling as though it could burst. He looked up at the beautiful, blonde haired Evangelyne smiling so warmly, a smile just for him, just for right now, and for the first time in his life he was speechless. Gently, she put a hand to his cheek, the same one that still held the ghost of her kiss, and whispered almost nervously, though he swore she was never nervous, never anything more than strong and sure and wonderful, “Thanks, Pinpin.” He grinned, covering her hand with his and choosing not say anything at all, merely kissing her knuckles before letting her pull away with a shy but sweet, “Goodnight.” “Goodnight, Eva,” he whispered back once she was already gone, falling back into the snow with a smile and resting his arms behind his head. “Goodnight.”
