The Legend:
It was said when the Demon of the Moon; Tso Lan ruled the lunar landscape that he was not alone. He had a lover of great power, not just some pleasure slave or mortal but the very spirit of the moon itself; Tui. Her power rivaled that of the ancient gods themselves, however it was tied into the moon phases, the fuller and brighter the moon was the more powerful she was. However this power had a fatal flaw, whenever the moon became dark during a new moon or an eclipse she would be as helpless as a mortal, during these times she relied on Tso Lan to protect her. For many centuries they ruled, however on Earth a band of immortals were preparing to banish the 8 demon sorcerers. One by one they struck, sealing each demon away with mythical symbols. When it came time to seal Tso Lan, the immortal struck during one of the longest lunar eclipses in eons. As Tso Lan was being banished into a portal Tui held on to him as much as she could, begging and crying for him not to let go, however their struggle was in vain. Tso Lan was ripped from her arms and hurled through the portal, the last image he saw was his beloved Tui on her knees with silver tears running from her eyes reaching for him. As the moon began to come out of its’ eclipse Tui began to feel her power return, turning to the immortal that had banished her love with sheer rage in her coal black eyes she began to gather what power she had to avenge Tso Lan. To save himself the immortal took 5 rune stones and cast a chi spell to seal her powers, suffering the same fate as Calypso she was bound in mortal form. The immortal then took the stones and scattered 4 of them on Earth and sent the last to the Moon to be sure Tui couldn’t break the sealing spells on the demons portals. Sadly without it’s’ spirit the lunar surface and the very Moon itself became barren and lifeless, a dead ball orbiting the planet. This is how this story begins…
Chapter One, New Moon
San Francisco Modern Day:
A raging spring storm was wreaking havoc outside Uncle’s shop just after night fall when a lone figure was seen walking down the street. Their appearance concealed by a dark black hoodie. A general passerby might not have noticed the figure as it sat crouched by a window of the antique shop, but a dragon possessing a human did. Shendu saw this figure through the window of Valmont’s limo. ‘I wonder who this person is spying on Chan?’ He thought as one of the Enforcers started to turn the puzzles of the Panku Box. “Hak Foo, bring that person spying on Chan to me.” Shendu ordered, his curiosity having been peaked. Hak Foo nodded, and quietly left the limo. Valmont chose that time to come back, “Why do you want someone spying on Chan without knowing if they are of any use?” He asked looking at his reflection in the glass of the window. “Because I sense a strange aura surrounding them, I wish to know who or what we are dealing with.” Shendu replied as the figure of Hak Foo crept up on the figure.
Tui sat and listened to Uncle tell Jackie the Lunar Legend through the crack of the window. The rain drops mingling with the tears that fell from her coal black eyes. Under the hoodie she grasped 3 rune stones on a silver chain that she kept close to her heart. ‘3 down, 2 to go and you can open the portal to see him again’ She thought. While she was caught up in her own thoughts she didn’t notice a figure approach from behind until it was too late. “Snake Sleep Grip” Was heard before a pressure on her neck was felt then blackness.
Hak Foo picked the woman up like she was nothing and headed for the open limo door. In the process of getting in the vehicle her hood fell back and a very long braid of white hair fell out hitting Hak Foo in the knees. Chow, Ratso, and Finn ogled her as Valmont unzipped the soaked hoodie to prevent it from soaking his upholstery. After he removed it he noticed she was wearing a simple pale blue dress with a necklace that had 3 rune stones on it. What was shocking is that she was almost as pale as her hair, and her height. For a woman she stood maybe 6 foot even, she was maybe an inch or 2 taller than Valmont but a head shorter than Hak Foo. Shendu stared at her for a long while as the limo took them back to the cannery; something about her seemed so very familiar. “Yo, Big V; what are we going to do with the broad?” Chow asked picking up a rune from the necklace only to be shocked by blue white energy. “Eeyoww! What the,” Chow asked as it finally clicked on who this was and why she seemed so familiar.
“You fools, do you know who this is?” Shendu asked as his red eyes flashed. The dumb silent looks he got were all the answer he needed. “This is the Moon Spirit Tui, bound in human form, the lover and Queen of my brother Tso Lan the Moon Demon.” He said as Hak Foo made sure she was sitting upright in a comfortable position. He learned quickly that you don’t get on the bad side of demons or their lovers. “You saying that this Amazon of a woman is your brother’s lover?” Ratso asked as Shendu whacked him on the head. “Yes, might I suggest you show her some respect, you may be safe when the moon is dark like tonight during its new moon phase, but her power grows as it does. Even if she is bound in mortal form she is still quite powerful to an average human. Besides if she doesn’t punish you, Tso Lan will. I have heard many tales from my brothers on how protective Tso Lan is of Tui, any impudence or threats to her will result in your quick demise.”
After Shendu’s story all of Valmont’s Enforcers sat far from Tui as possible. They rode back in silence to the cannery. When they arrived Shendu ordered Hak Foo to take her one of the offices turned to a bedroom and make sure she was comfortable. After that was done they set about looking for Tso Lan’s portal.
Deep in Tui’s mind she was floating like she would have in her full spirit form, her hair loose and floating with her gown. She looked around, seeing clouds and stars; like she was in the highest layers of the stratosphere. She looked up and saw her precious moon. Its features a shadow of what they once were. Tears slowly made their way down her face as she reached up as if a mother trying to caress her child. She looked down quickly, not being able to stand seeing her home like that. She pondered a question that has been haunting her since her love was ripped from her grasp. ‘I know he is a demon sorcerer, and I am the spirit of the moon. But why make us suffer, we ruled the Moon in peace.’ Tui thought as the tears finally reached her chin. “Why?” She asked out loud reaching up to brush them away. A warm hand beat her too it and brushed the crystal trails from her eyes away. Tui gasped and looked up to the owner of the hand and found her eyes staring into the loving gaze of her love, Tso Lan.
“My beloved, how have I waited for a moment like this.” Tso stated using all four arms to draw her into an embrace. She quickly drew her arms around him and buried her face into his dark red robes. “Hold me Tso, please. I don’t want to let you go again.” Was the muffled sound that Tui made as he began to stroke her hair with his claws. “I wish I could my beloved, but our time soon draws to a close. Shendu is planning to open my portal with the Panku Box. Once that is done We will be together again.” Tso whispered into her ear as his long snake like tongue ran over the outer rim then moving to capture her mouth in a deep kiss. Tui gasped as his smaller set of hands began to caress her stomach and slide up and into her gown. Tso swallowed a moan from her when the smaller set of claws began to tease her nipples. The feeling didn’t last long, Tui felt herself returning to consciousness and the touch of Tso fading. “Til we meet again my beloved.” Tso Lan stated as Tui’s eyes opened to a dark room.
