Sinister Light.
Chapter One: Hardening of Resolve.
Jack Spicer was flung long by Omi’s technique, screaming the girly scream he had always done. All his jack-bots were gone, nothing but scrap metal and sparks. He managed to turn in the air and activate his heli pack, and headed home.
In his basement, he flopped into his swivel chair which was next to his computer, turn around and around thinking of maybe another way to defeat the Xiaolin warriors, but no he was thinking of his future, and shut his eyes but not a moment later his computer screen, flashed, grumbling he turned muttering to himself.
“Has to be another, dam data error…” Then he noticed the flashing words ‘Secret File Damaged’ His eyes widened, pulled he chair up to the computer quikly going thought his files.
“No it cannot be damaged, not my life’s dream, not yet.” The sound of typing filed the basement, window after window opened, and then the words.
PROJECT LIGHT
Flashed on the screen, in big red letters, he looked from the screen to his fingers, racing across the keyboard, the screen showing diagrams of the human body. Formulas, code, research data, and other pictures flashed one on top of the other, then the sound of flashing screens stopped, and Jack leapt up slamming his fists on the desk.
“SHIT! That son of bitch…did he find any of the other research, I wonder?” Jack got up his chair swirling around as he did so; his jacket was quickly lodged on the back of it as he got up. He quickly, went to the table in the centre of the room, and sliding his left hand under the bridge it fond a panel of buttons, and quickly typing in a code the entire table was raised up by about a foot, this showed another table, this time holding certain items.
“Few thank god, he didn’t find any of these, and thank god he didn’t find any of my more up to date research on my computer, he stole some of the basic stuff on it that he could use.” He thought as he looked at the objects in front of him.
On the table were six crystals that were the size of a arm, from elbow to wrist, they were set on in a order, first there was a clear diamond, second there was a topaz, third was a Sapphire, fourth was a emerald, fifth was a Jade, and lastly was black onyx, and also a piece of unknown substance. There were also ancient looking tomes, all dusty and leather bonds, also maps of the world, but at different stages in history. Putting back in the code the table sank back into the floor again.
Jack turned around back to his computer, and typing like crazy sweat now dripping down his face, as he put encryptions on every file, and finally one on the lot, he also placed an A.I programme to continuessly alter the coding.
“That should stop him and anyone who wants to try and raid my secrets.” Then he shut his computer off and turned stalking upstairs to speak to the one who made stolen is research his father Jacob Henry Spicer.
Jacob Henry Spicer sat in his study, going over the notes and pieces of research that he had ‘borrowed’ from his son.
“This is…amazing, what he’s done, no wonder he kept this a secret, but this is all I could get, without being noticed.” He heard a knock at the door, and quickly changed to another programme.
“Come in.” He said and the door opened to reveal a very pissed off Jack Spicer, who walked up to the desk and slammed his fists on it.
“Give it back. NOW!” Jacob just looked on, in shock knowing that he had finally been caught, out and stood up, ad walked over to his son, who had calmed down a little. He was a man of great stature, he wore a whit shirt with the collar button undone, black trousers, and shoes, he had a beard, and spectacals on which were currently half way down his noise, and he first walked over the door shut it and locked it, and turned to his son, and dragging up a chair and looked him in the eyes.
“Why did you keep such a thing a secret…it could change the world for the better. Now I finally understand why you kept yourself down there.” He got up walked to his desk turning is laptop around so it faced his son, and changing back to the programme he was originally looking at ‘PROJECT LIGHT’.
“Why did you go hacking into my computer?”
“Well since you spent most of your time on it I thought I could get along with it better that you could.” He again sat down.
“Well it isn’t even finished, I still need more time.” His father looked at him.
“If you need anything for it’s completion I’ll get the company right on it.” Jack looked up then surprised.
“You’d really help me?” His father looked at him.
“Well I think this could be the most important thing in history son…you truly are a genius.” Jack looked down thinking things over.
“Dad is offering the companies resources…one of the most powerful companies in the world, for this, but what of the shan-gon-wu and the xiaolin losers? They can wait…this is too important, and once this is done they will not matter. It’s time to stop being a coward, I have to harden myself. From now on the old wimpy Jack is gone.” He then lifted his head looking at his father.
“Fine I’ll help, but the credit go to me, and will you give me anything to help me complete this?” Jacob nodded.
“Well anything, and all the credit will go to you son.” Jack stood up and walked to the door, but stopped at the door, and turned his head to his father.
“Good. Since you offered…get me the top martial artist in the world.” His father looked at him puzzled.
“Why?”
“Simple…to train me, from now on I’ll toughen up; to tell you the truth I need it. Also get a me access to the top museums in the world, I need to borrow some things off them, and also I need all your tech team to do this, ok.” Jacob nodded, and Jack left, opening the lock, walking out the door and shutting it behind him.
“So he’s finally growing up.” He turned to his laptop, and highlighting the PROECT LIGHT file he pressed delete.
“Won’t be needing that anymore.” Jacob said as he shut down his computer.
Meanwhile Jack was picking up a large silver carry case, with an electronic lock on it, and putting his stones and maps and tomes into it, and turning to his computer he smiled as the condense of his computer were downloaded onto several removable devices, and with that done he engaged a system restore leaving nothing on there. He smiled, picking up his silver case he walked up the stairs, turning off the lights as he went.
Well for the next two years neither Heylin nor Shaolin saw hind or hair of Jack Spicer, and to tell you the truth they didn’t care, but they were about find out what he had been up two for the past two years of his life.
In a lab, in a tech team was muttering, with excited mirth, with what they had achieved, Jack Spicer walked in with a pleased look on his face, knowing what he would do with the power he had created. Over the past two year he had matured greatly, with the help of his martial arts training, and with the decision he had made to stay away from the battle between the Xiaolin and Heylin.
His appearance had changed, he had filled out more, due to his training, and he had decided to grow his hair which was now nearing the middle of his back, he had thrown away his goggles, and make up, leaving his face just white, also he had stopped using hair dye to turn his hair red, and thus was returning to its original white colour. On of the scientists turned to Jack and approached him, with a pleased look on his face.
“We’ve finish, with the help of your instructions chief.” Jack smiled, and walked with the scientist.
“Good. Is the armour suit I requested finished?” Another scientist a young woman that was in her 20’s turned to him, holding a clip board.
“Yes, it is finished, but why would you want such a thing, Chief?” Jack just shook his head.
“That is for me…well we’ve tested it for all the events Eva yes?” Eva nodded, smiling.
“I can’t believe you were able to create something that can create solid matter, out of nothing.” Jack smiled, rubbing the back of his head, and looked up at the achievement he had work most of his life to create.
“May I put it on?” All the scientists nodded, and jack took the suit off it podium, and walked to another room, the other people waiting edgily.
When he emerged he wore a black and white body suit, with a black layer that clung to his body then followed by white armour along his the upper side of his arms opposite to the palm side, it also covered his chest to his waist, and on his wrists were two white armour bracelets each with a green rectangle that was 0.5 centimetres in width and 1 centimetres long, this was also on the belt he also wore. The armour covered his legs just like his arms, and finally had white boots to finish it off.
“Question why did you create such a thing Chief?” Eva said again.
“Well…you see I only designed Project Light to fit in this armour, first of all, but don’t worry I’ll construct things to widen its use…now to test it.” He turned towards the door but brought out a little control from the pocket and pointed to the roof, and with that he turned to his research team, bowing to them, his white hair falling forward from his face.
“Well, I shall now test this ‘toy’ of mine; I make a testing site for this.” The group that he had stayed with for the past two years clapped him, Eva stepping forwards.
“It has been a joy to work with you, will we be working with you again Chief?” Jack lifted his head and smiled then turned to sky light that had opened, and walked to the desk which had held his armour, and picked up the silver case that lay there, and walked back to his previous position, and put the silver case down next to his feet.
“You will I think?” He lifted his hand and outstretched them and the wrist bands and belt he wore began to glow green then the light filled the room, and when the light had dyed down, in the place were jack once stood there was a jet made out of green light. It fit the sky light perfectly, then it started up, lifted horizontally and blasted off , p through the sky light, then Jack punched in some coordinates into the light green panel in front of him, and the little green jet turned towards north east, and shot off in that direction.
“That was amazing.” One of the scientists said, his mouth falling open, Eva just smiled, folding her arm.
“Yes the Chief is amazing.” She said smiling.
Meanwhile Jacks hard light jet sped off to the north east.
“Finally after two years, its time to return to the fray.” He said smiling, he jet building up more speed. Soon they would know what he had been doing for the past two years.
