Loving arms, gentle voices. Faces in shadow, cannot see. Running feet, cool night air, strapped in to a seat. Screaming voices in the night, know the voices, but who are they?! Incredible heat, unbearable fear, smell of smoke, then darkness. Voices, new now, voices I don’t know. Eyes open, strange looking Martians, dark clothing. Hesitant gestures, eyes looking skyward, then grabbed by the arm and taken to a building. Pain…Pain…Pain…Pain…
************
Midnight woke with a start, beads of sweat on her body. Sitting up slowly, the young woman wrapped her arms around her legs, shaking slightly. The same dream, over and over again, for the last twelve years. Midnight couldn’t begin to fathom what it meant. The last part she knew was real, for it happened when she first came to the orphanage, but the other part she wasn’t so sure about.
It can't be real, there’s no spaceships on Mars anymore, the Sisters told me so.
Midnight remained sitting on her bed, a mattress so old that is barely kept her body off the chilly basement floor. Wrapped around her body was a threadbare blanket, hardly an adequate covering. There were no windows in the musty basement room that had been Midnight’s home since she came here. The only time she saw light was when the Sisters let her out to clean and cook for them. That’s all she was good for, free slave labor. Midnight could barely read and write, lacking much in the education department. Every night she practiced writing using the dirt on her bedroom floor. Straining her ears, Midnight could make out the footsteps coming from above, going to the stairs and heading up. That gave her the clue as to the time, morning. Midnight was about to move when she heard footsteps, this time on the basement stairs.
Oh God, oh God, please not again, I can’t take much more of this, PLEASE!!
The footsteps stopped outside her door, the sound of a lock turning, then the doorknob. Midnight was frozen in place, her eyes watching as the door swung open, revealing Sister Martha, Mother Superior of the orphanage. Midnight huddled on her bed, waiting....
************
Half Hour Ago...
Martha had been up for a while, readying herself for the day. There was one bit of business she had to take care of first, the hell child, Midnight. Martha remembered well when she first came to the orphanage, for she had been the first to recognize her for what she was, an abomination. But as a woman of God, she realized that she would have to find a way to help the child either turn to God or send it back to Hell. The first proved fruitless, she was too much a demon, so she sought the latter, beating the child hoping it would return from hence it came. To help with removing the demon, the Sisters made Midnight humble herself by serving them, trusting in God to protect them. All their efforts, wasted. But today Martha saw an end to that. She had found a priest, an old friend, who was willing to take on demon spawn. She smiled, glad to finally be rid of the little bastard child.
Once she was completely ready, Martha left her rooms, smiling to her fellow Sisters as she made her way to the basement. Descending quickly, Martha approached the door that held the demon, a bucket in one hand and special item in the other. Upon opening the door, Martha saw Midnight was awake and smiled, a touch of cruelty to further chill the poor girl....
************
Present...
Midnight’s eyes never left Sister Martha’s face, seeing her smile before setting an item down and reaching for one in her other hand. Suddenly, Midnight found herself drenched in ice cold water, soaking her meager bed and blanket. While she was still in shock, Martha stepped forward and snapped something around Midnight’s neck. It took the girl a moment or two to realize what it was, a collar with a leash attached to it.
“Come, you’re leaving this place,” Martha gave a little tug on the leash, making Mid stumble a bit, dropping the soaked blanket.
Midnight shivered, her naked, wet body exposed to the chill air of the early morning. She reached for the blanket, but Martha continued to tug on the leash, giving her no option, but to follow. Midnight followed her up the stairs, acutely embarrassed and feeling vulnerable. As the children passed her, they laughed and jeered at her, calling her a freak and worse, till the other Sisters got them back in order. The nun lead her outside, walking swiftly down the decrepit driveway to a dark hover van. A man in dark, rich-looking clothing stood there, calmly watching them approach. He smiled at Martha, his eyes flickering briefly on Midnight.
“So, this is the demon? How old is she?”
“We judged her to be around eighteen, Father Ryan.”
"Well, there is still hope for her, Sister, but she is not your concern now," Father Ryan told her as he took Midnight’s leash, leading her to the back of the van. Martha nodded and turned, heading back to the building. Father Ryan opened the door and stepped up inside, bringing Midnight with him. The stunned girl, so confused with what was going on, didn’t realize until it was too late that her wrists had been locked to the back of the passenger seat, leaving her kneeling on the floor. Ryan smiled, closing the door and walking up the driver seat. As he sat, he turned to her, running a hand down her cheek and neck, continuing down to her breast, fondling it a bit. A gasp came from Midnight's throat, having never been touched like that. Smiling at her reaction, Ryan turned back towards the front and left the orphanage, heading to his own residence. As he drove, his tail continued to fondle the poor girl, making her squirm in discomfort.
Once there, Father Ryan pulled around back, where no one could see him bring the girl in. He brought Midnight in to his house and up the stairs to the bedroom, leading her over to the bed. Ryan attached her leash to a hook on the back of the bed. Turning to Midnight, the Priest brought his hands up to her breasts, caressing them slowly. Mid bit her lip, scared by what he was doing. Ryan ran a hand down her stomach, reaching between her thighs, his fingers probing her. Gasping softly, her eyes went wide in shock. Ryan smiled, removing his clothes with one hand, his other still working on Mid. Removing his fingers, Ryan placed his member at her entrance, causing the large golden eyes below him to gaze at him with fear. Smiling, he pushed in to her, ignoring her whimpers of pain, pushing till he was completely within her. Ryan stopped, enjoying the feel of power he felt before pulling back and pushing in to her again, faster. Midnight's eyes closed, tears rolling down her cheeks. Finally, Ryan stifled groan and a feeling of hot warmth inside her.
This was the first of many times Father Ryan used Midnight for his pleasure, teaching her different techniques and ways to please him. Sometimes what he did hurt her, like the paddles and restraints, but he had her convinced that she should enjoy it, that it was her duty. Midnight believed him, responding to his gestures as she was taught, pleasuring him. She was completely his.
************
Three Years Later...
Midnight was on the street. Alone, afraid, and very much hungry. Father Ryan had died in an accident a few days prior, leaving his little toy nowhere to go. So Midnight was left wandering the street. She kept to the shadows and back alleys, though that wasn’t always good. Her first night on the street had found her face down on the ground, a large man pounding in to her, grunting in pleasure. He had left her lying there, having gotten what he wanted. Midnight had gotten shakily to her feet and left as fast as her sore body would allow. That was two days ago. Misery and a deep loneliness settled in to her, desperate to find anywhere that was relatively safe. As she walked, Mid thought about her life with Father Ryan, glad that he was dead. Mid couldn’t forget how he had forced her to miscarriage the one time she had gotten pregnant by him. That had hurt her more deeply then anything he’d done to her prior or after. Exhaustion was creeping up on Mid as she approached some tents, clutching her meager covering to her body. A young male mouse exited one of the tents and turned in her direction. He gasped in shock before running over to Mid, putting an arm around her. Too tired and hungry to protest, Mid let him lead her to a tent where some mouse females were chatting. Mid didn’t hear anything he said to them, since exhaustion finally won and she slid in to the welcoming darkness.
************
Mid woke slowly, unsure where she was. Memory came filtering back as she sat up slowly, noticing the soft bed she had been placed in. Not to mention the warm clothing she was wearing or the fact that her fur and hair were cleaner than she could ever remember. Mid was bewildered and a little frightened, not knowing what to think. Someone clearing their throat made her jump. Looking up, Mid saw the male mouse who had run up to her before standing there. He smiled, his chocolate colored hair pulled back in a tail stood out darkly against his light gray fur.
“I’m glad to see you awake, you had me a little worried.”
Mid lowered her eyes, “I’m sorry,” she says softly, “I...I wasn’t trying to be a nuisance. I was just trying to find some place safe.”
He smiled in understanding, “My name is Clayton VanWham. I’m a doctor in training so to speak.”
Mid smiled, then frowned, “I…don’t remember what my name is. I…I’ve been calling myself Midnight.”
Clayton gave her a sympathetic smile, “This war we’re in has affected a lot of people, I’m not surprised. But if you have no where to go, you’re welcome to stay with us. We could use some help around here and my Aunt says you seem to have the mindset of a counselor.”
Mid looked at him, confused.
“My Aunt Irisa is the doctor in charge of this expedition and she’s also telepathic. She looked at your mind to make sure you were all right.”
“Oh. So…what are you guys doing anyway?”
“We’re trying to help out around the places that have been destroyed. Bringing medicine and help. Would you like to join us? Even if you don’t, you’re gonna be with us a while. You’re not in good health.”
Mid thought about it, “Sure, why not? I’d really like to learn how to read and write. Plus I do like helping people when I can.”
Clayton held out his hand, shaking Mid’s, “Welcome aboard, Midnight.”
************
Two Years Pass…
Mid nervously watched the Plutarkians as they finished locking up the other two mice. Clayton and Irisa had told her about them and now she got to see them, though she’d been happier if she hadn’t. Midnight and her two fellow captives weren’t fast enough when the Plutarkians attacked and as a result, all three were caught. The interior of the spaceship was dark, making Mid shiver in fear. She had no idea where they were being taken to or what was going to happen to them. The ship took off, heading quickly in to space. Mid huddled in a corner of her cage, silent tears coursing down her face. What was going to happen to her? Was her last thought as she fell in to fitful slumber.
Warning alarms woke her with a start. The Plutarkians were muttering and cursing in their language, an aura of panic almost surrounding them. Mid remained in her corner, not wanting to move. Especially when the ship took a sharp dip to the side, the fish crying out in surprise and alarm. It was then that Mid realized they were crashing.
************
Chicago
It was another day in Chicago. People working, children going to school, Limburger Tower falling to pieces and goons flying everywhere.
“AWWWWOOOOOOOO! Man I LOVE that part! Wait till I tell Charley about some of my studly moves!”
Modo and Throttle smiled indulgently at their friend, knowing that the ego maniac had to show off. The trio left the remains of the Tower, heading back to the Last Chance. As they rode, Throttle caught sight of a rather large ball of fire that seemed to be crashing down on the far side of Lake Michigan.
“Bros, did you see that?”
Modo nodded, “Yep, kinda hard to miss. Should we go take a look-see?”
“AWWWOOOO! More excitement and danger?! Can this day get any better?!!”
Throttle shook his head, “Come on Bros, lets Rock…”
“AND RIDE!”
************
The biker Mice pulled up the wreck of what had once been a Plutarkian Stench Carrier. They didn’t care about the fish lying about in the wreckage, but it hurt to see the two Martian bodies among them.
“Damn, I wonder what happened?”
“They…they were yelling something about a malfunction just before we crashed.”
The mice turned, seeing the sole survivor of the crash. Dark gray, almost black fur was singed slightly from the fire and her inky black hair was in wild disarray. But she was alive and her large golden eyes regarded them with curiosity and wariness.
“Glad to see someone survived this, Miss,” Throttle told her sincerely.
Mid nodded, “I was lucky, I stayed curled up in a ball in my cage and actually got shot out in to the water when we impacted.”
Throttle nodded, noticing now that she was dripping wet. Modo stood up and removed a blanket from a storage compartment on his bike. Mid swallowed hard, seeing how tall the gray mouse was, but accepted the blanket he handed her.
“This should help keep ya warm, ma’am. Mah name is Modo, by the way.”
Throttle nodded, “My name’s Throttle.”
“And I’M the invincible Vinnie VanWham, the velocity atrocity!”
“VanWham? I know someone by that name! He took care of me when I was really sick.”
Vinnie looked confused, “You met someone named VanWham? What’s his name?”
“Clayton. He and his Aunt Irisa took me in when I had no where else to go.”
Laughing, Vin relaxed, “Clayton’s my younger half brother and Irisa’s my Aunt too.”
Mid smiled, “Then you can’t be TOO bad. My name’s Midnight.”
Chuckling at Vin’s expression, Throttle turned to Midnight, “Well, ya might as well come with us, babe. No sense in you staying here. I’m sure our friend Charley will take ya in.”
Vin snickered, “Yeah, if not, you could always convince her, eh Bro?”
************
In the end, Charley did take Mid in, though Throttle insisted on convincing her. It didn’t take long for Midnight to realize that Charley and Throttle were seeing each other. Despite Vinnie’s ego, he and Midnight struck up an odd sort of friendship, which began to deepen in to something more, much to the amusement to the other three. For the next two years, Vin and Mid’s off again, on again relationship brought a lot of entertainment to their friends, but they knew in their hearts that they’d never really leave each other. Mid brought out Vinnie’s softer side, while the rodent renegade drew out Mid’s rather willful nature. And Mid, not being a fighter, really was impressed with some of the things Vin could do. Having someone believe in him gave Vin more confidence in what he could do and made him a little less likely to do something risky.
************
Another day, another plot from Limburger. With their usual finesse, the Biker Mice stopped him in his tracks and saved the day. The trio left the remains of the Tower, heading back to the Last Chance. Along the way, they picked up Charley and Mid from Andy's Hotdogs, who had grabbed lunch. For the Biker Mice, it was a fine way to wrap up a fun day.
For Limburger, it was just another day too. And he didn’t like it. Standing in the office at the Academy of Hard Knocks, Limburger fumed over the latest destruction of his property and the inevitable escape of the Martian renegades.
“Karbunckle! Is there nothing I can do to rid myself of these vermin?!”
The deranged, oddly formed man known as Karbunckle looked at his boss, “Well, there is a possibility, your Cheesiness,” he wheezed, “You could hire outside help.”
Limburger groaned at that suggestion, “And what’s to stop those Martians from taking out that villain.”
“Not a villain, my Rotund Frommage, a Bounty Hunter, one with a very good reputation.”
Limburger looked interested, but then shook his head, “No, that bird female was a bounty hunter and turned as soon as offered a better deal. What’s to keep this one from doing the same?”
“This particular hunter is a member of the Bounty Hunting Guild. They do not turn away from their employers unless given due cause.”
“Really? Well now, this looks promising. But a member of the Guild? That means whoever it is won’t kill the mice.”
“No your Reeking Dairyness, but she would harry the mice and keep them too busy to bother you.”
“Well then, summon this hunter, Karbunckle! Its time those mice got a little payback.”
************
Later that night…
Limburger stood in front of the transport booth, waiting for Karbunckle to bring the hunter. The machine hummed softly, then there was a flash of light and some smoke. When the smoke cleared and Limburger could see again, his jaw nearly hit the floor. Standing before them was… a female Martian! She had red hair woven in to a tight bun on the back of her head. Her fur was a tawny color, covered in spots the same color of her hair. But her eyes were hidden behind a pair of sunglasses rather similar to the ones worn by the Biker Mice leader. Limburger took note that though very slim, the girl was all muscle, standing before them in wary anticipation. Composing himself, Limburger stepped forward.
“I’m Lawrence Lactavius Limburger, and you would be…”
“Call me Crimson Blade or just Blade,” she told him coldly.
“Um yes, Ms. Blade, to business. I'm willing to pay you quite handsomely to keep some meddlesome Martians off my back, a bonus will be provided if you can capture them.”
“Capture, not kill?”
“Yes. Karbunckle says your Guild does not kill randomly, so we did take that in to account.”
“I’ll take the job, under two conditions. One, you pay me in gold gills, nothing else. Second, you allow me access to your computer files. I’ll find myself occupancy in the city and pay for anything I require.”
“Those are some rather large demands…”
Limburger found it rather unnerving to suddenly find himself facing a gun barrel, “Either meet them or find someone else. I’m one of the best in my field and if I turn the job down, you can bet no one else in the Guild will take it. And Freelancers are unreliable.”
Limburger frowned, unused to facing opposition, but could see no way around the situation, “Fine then, I agree to your conditions.”
Blade pulled a sheet of paper out of the bag slung over her shoulder. She wrote quickly, then signed her name at the bottom, passing the paper to Limburger. The smooth talking fish could see it was a contract. He sighed and wrote his name on it, passing it back. The girl tore off the yellow sheet and handed it to him, put the pink copy in her bag, then turned to the transporter. Using her tail, she activated it and sent the white copy through. She turned back to them.
“As soon as I find a place, I’ll begin. Don’t try to cheat me, you’ll be sorry.”
The two males watched her leave, unsure of what to say.
************
Once again, Limburger was up to his old tricks, trying to strip mine the city bare. As usual, the Biker Mice came to the rescue.
“Hey, cheese for brains! Didn’t you learn from last time!” Vinnie yelled.
Limburger smiled, “Most assuredly rodent, I’ve come prepared this time.”
Vinnie went to move forward, but found himself blasted off his bike, a numbing feeling in his right arm. He’d been shot by a laser set on stun. Modo and Throttle looked as surprised as him. Limburger practically cheered.
“You see, my dear Biker Mice, I’ve gotten some real help!”
Like a ghost, she appeared. A fiery piece of heaven wrapped in hellish clothing. Her eyes were hidden by a pair of sunglasses similar to the ones Throttle wore. Her bike was green like the faceplate of her helmet and looked to be a racing bike. The laser held in her hand was still pointed at them and looked like it had seen heavy use. Throttle recognized her as a Hellraiser, the spots a dead give away.
Vin stood up, staring at the girl. He was beyond pissed. All that mattered was making her pay for knocking him down.
“You’re gonna regret doing that!”
“Am I? I don’t think so. If ya know what’s good for ya, you three will turn tail and go back to whatever hole ya crawled out of.”
Vinnie’s hands clenched in to fists. Not waiting for his bros, he launched himself at the girl, hell bent on making her pay. She jumped off her bike and rather than dodge his lunge, Blade crouched down, then grabbed his wrists, flipping him over her head using his momentum. The white furred Martian landed on his rear and back, letting out a groan of pain. Modo’s eye glowed red, seeing what she did to his bro.
“NOBODY DOES THAT TO MAH BRO!”
The gray furred giant jumped off his bike, barreling towards the Hellraiser. Moving with agility that was close to phenomenal, Blade ran towards Modo, jumped forward as though she was going to do somersaults. Instead, once on her hands, she pushed off the ground, twisting her body. Blade was like a living top, her long legs stretched out like she was doing a split, her head several inches from the ground. Moving so fast that she was nothing more than a blur, the spinning Blade got Modo by surprise, hitting him several times until he dropped, unconscious. Landing back on her feet, Blade smirked at Throttle. By now, Limburger had left the area, content to let the girl handle it. Blowing a kiss at Throttle, she went in to the empty warehouse next to them. Throttle pulled out his blaster and followed cautiously. It was dark in the building and silent. The gold furred Martian crept silently along, searching for the Hellraiser. Up above, Blade grinned in sardonic humor.
Throttle turned his back, unaware that his adversary was waiting for just such a moment. With her incredible speed, Blade jumped down and ran up to the Martian, pinning him to a metal beam with a chain, immobilizing him effectively. She grinned at him, taking the gun from his hand.
“Well well, look what I caught. Don’t often find a handsome mouse like you on my jobs.”
“If you’re gonna kill me lady, get it over with.”
“Kill you? Nope, don’t think so.”
“Not gonna kill me, huh? And why is that?”
“I have my reasons, any other questions?” she asked, an eyebrow rising above her glasses.
“Yeah, why are you, a Hellraiser, helping Limburger?”
“Wouldn’t you like to know,” Blade told him, removing her glasses. Throttle stared in shock at the faintly glowing, bright green eyes. Normally Hellraiser eyes only glowed in anger and when they do, there’s no sign of the pupil or iris. Both were visible in Blade’s eyes.
Her eyes should definitely NOT be glowing like that!
Blade smirked at him, moving in close. Her lips brushed his, teasing, before pressing more firmly, her tongue pushing his mouth open. Throttle tensed at the feel of those lips, responding in spite of himself. She laughed softly, pulling away. She picked up his gun, holding it in her left hand. Smirking, Blade squeezed the gun, crushing it. Throttle stared at her, feeling himself go pale under his fur. Blade blew him a kiss before sauntering out the door, leaving him there.
Throttle cursed himself, angry with the way he responded to her. He waited there for what seemed like an eternity, but was really only fifteen, twenty minutes tops. Outside, Vinnie and Modo got up slowly, rubbing at various bruises. Looking around, they realized they were a mouse short and began calling for their bro.
“I’m in here!”
The two battered mice went in to the dark building, peering around. They spotted Throttle pinned to a pole, looking more than pissed. Stifling chuckles, Vinnie helped Throttle get loose.
Modo looked at the mangled wreck that was once Throttle’s gun, “What happened bro?”
Rubbing his arms to get some feeling back in them, he spoke, “That Hellraiser, that’s what. Got me by surprise and tied me up. Told me that she’s not going to try and kill us.”
“Really? Why?”
Throttle shrugged, then blinked at the bright sunlight as they walked out, “Says she has her reasons. Never said why she’s working for Limburger. We’ll think more about it later, right now I want to get back to the garage and relax.”
And perhaps take a cold shower.
The other two nodded. The three of them got on their bikes, revving their engines. Before closing his visor, Throttle’s hand stole up to his lips, touching them gently. There was something about that girl that definitely wasn’t right. Closing their visors, the Biker Mice took off to the Last Chance.
************
Limburger, greatly impressed my the Martian female’s success, gladly let her have access to his computer files. Blade chose to do so in an isolated room, not ready to have anyone, especially Limburger, know the truth about her. The downloading went easy enough, Blade hacking in to a few files that she was sure Limburger thought were well protected.
One more day of downloading should get me to the information I really want. Though giving the references, it seems my quarry is coming to me.
Blade stood, stretching her lithe body to work the cramps out, well aware of her audience in the doorway. Given the looks on their faces, they didn’t get enough…company. Perhaps she would drop a line with Limburger. Blade laughed to herself, thinking about an old saying: a happy employee is a productive employee. With a flick of her tail, the red-headed Martian sauntered out, a mischievous smile on her face.
************
Charley and Midnight were shocked by the state the guys were in when they returned. Each mouse had various bruises and cuts. They seemed a bit depressed as well. Charley went to grab the first aid kit while Mid got the guys some root beer. Returning, the mechanic started on Modo, who seemed to have the most cuts.
“What the hell happened to you guys? Limburger call in a super villain?”
“No Charley-girl, a bounty hunter. A good one,” Throttle told her, bitterly.
“He took on all three of you?!”
"She, Charley-ma’am.”
Mid was shocked, “A girl beat you guys up?”
Vinnie growled in anger, shifting his seat to try and get comfortable. In the process, his wallet fell out and landed on the ground. Mid leaned down to pick it up and stopped, curious.
“Vin, who are these two girls in this picture with you?”
Without looking, Vin told her, “The blond is my older sister Milessa, the auburn haired girl is my baby sister Jade.”
Charley chuckled, “I didn’t know you had sisters, Vin.”
“Yeah, well, Mil’s only a year older than me. Jade…” here Vin paused, feeling a lump in his throat, “Jade disappeared fourteen years ago, she was five years younger than me.”
Mid knew Vinnie was upset, she could see it in his eyes. Mid placed a hand on his arm, smiling a little, “If she's anything like you, I’m sure she’s still alive.”
Vin smiled, “Thanks Sweetheart, that means a lot.”
The next day proved uneventful, giving the boys a chance to relax a bit. And clean out Charley’s fridge. When the mechanic woke the following morning, she let out an exasperated sigh and got her money together. Mid offered to go with her, since she felt a bit sorry for Charley. On their way to the store, the two women caught sight of someone whom they recognized from the description given to them from the boys. It was the Hellraiser girl. Charley looked a Mid, then grinned, turning to follow the departing figure on to the dirt road she was riding on. Slowing the truck, Charley looked around, wondering where the girl went. Midnight was feeling nervous.
“Charley, maybe we should go back, I don’t like this. Its dangerous.”
A thump on the truck made both women jump. Staring at them through the windshield was Blade, a sardonic smile on her face.
“You’re right, it IS dangerous, but I don’t think your friend often listens to good advice. Not that I mind, the two of you will do nicely.”
************
Several Hours Later…
“Hey bros, shouldn’t Charley-girl and Mid be back by now?” Throttle asked.
Modo scratched his head, “Now that you mention it, yeah, they should be back.”
Vin opened his mouth to say something, but jumped when he heard the radio on his bike come to life.
“Mayday, mayday!”
“That’s Charley!” Throttle yelled, vaulting over his bike to get to Vin’s, “We hear you Charley, where are ya?”
“I’m on route 78, the tire on my truck blew and I don’t like the looks of some of the people who’ve stopped and offered help.”
“We’ll be right there,” Throttle walked to his bike and got on, while his bros did the same, “Let’s Rock...!”
“And RIDE!”
Fifteen minutes later, the three Martians were pulling up to Charley’s truck, which was parked off to the side of the road. But there was no sign of the two women. More disturbing, all four tires were ok.
“What the hell? Why would Charley-girl send out a false message?”
“Maybe because it wasn’t her who sent it to ya.”
The three macho mice turned, seeing Blade standing behind them. Behind her, tied to a tree, were Midnight and Charley. Vinnie ground his teeth in anger, Modo let out a low growl while Throttle glared.
Blade smirked, amused, “You know, you Myr’tah are so predictable,” Blade raised her left arm, aiming her gun at them, but rather than a laser blast coming at them from the gun, three darts hit them.
She set a trap.
That was Throttle’s last coherent thought as he fought the drug that was now coursing through his veins.
************
The Biker Mice came to an hour later, Mid and Charley by their sides. What they saw brought them fully aware instantly. They were in Karbunckle’s lab in Limburger Tower. The deranged doctor stood off to the side, staring at them in fiendish pleasure. Several feet in front of them stood Limburger and Blade.
“I fulfilled my end of the bargain Limburger, time to pay up. In full.”
“My dear mouse…” Limburger stopped mid-sentence, swallowing with difficulty as a blaster was aimed at his head.
“Get this straight, Limburger. I'm an Arien, NOT a mouse. And you agreed to hire me, knowing how expensive I am. The Biker Mice are here, I kept them from your operations, its time to pay.”
Nodding ever so slightly to Blade, Limburger motioned for Karbunckle to give the girl what she wanted. Blade nodded in satisfaction as the gold gills were loaded in to the transporter and sent to her ship. She turned back to Limburger.
“Is our business concluded?”
“Yes, I believe so.”
“Good,” without warning, Blade flicked out her left arm, a long slender blade in her hand.
She snapped her wrist, opening the weapon. It was shaped like a fan. Blade threw it Frisbee style at the cage holding the mice. The odd weapon moved swiftly through the air, slicing off the lock holding the cage door shut. As the fanblade returned to its owner, it took off the ends of the guns that the goons were aiming at Blade, leaving them useless. The Biker Mice wasted no time breaking out of their cage and taking on the goons. Charley and Mid hung back, unarmed and in danger. Blade kicked aside the goon who sought to recapture them, then tossed Charley one of her lasers from within her coat.
Charley caught it, staring at the girl, “What...? I don’t understand.”
“You don‘t need to, right now worry about protecting yourself and the girl. I'll get the bikes. Shadow! Mech rescue eight!”
Blade’s bike came to life and aimed at the other bikes, freeing them. The Biker Mice were in their glory, loving nothing more than to give the goons a good pounding. But even they had limits and the enemy just kept on spawning. Suddenly, their bikes were beside them, beeping entreatingly. They mounted quickly, Mid behind Vinnie, Charley with Throttle.
“Lady, Hoss, Vixen! Get them out of here! Initiate Priority One. GO!”
Stunned by Blade's demands on their bikes, the boys were further thrown for a loop when the bikes beeped in understanding and tore out of there with Blade’s bike, leaving Blade alone to face the goons. The escaping bikes landed on a nearby building, turning back to the tower. Mid looked at them, her large eyes seemingly larger due to her fear.
“We can’t just leave her there! She helped us escape.”
Even as she spoke, the five of them saw a figure come to the broken wall. It was Blade, her trench coat tied around her waist. She fired a few more rounds at the goons before diving out the window. Mid gasped in horror, unable to look away as the red haired Martian plummeted to the ground. Plummeted, until she caught an updraft, soaring in to the air. Blinking several times, Charley finally found the voice to speak.
“Well, that explains why she said she wasn’t a mouse.”
Blade landed on a nearby building, her wings merging in to her back. Shadow jumped over to her. Smirking, Blade donned her helmet and blew them all a kiss before closing the face plate.
“See you later boys and girls.”
************
A week had passed since their capture and rescue. The Biker Mice were unsure what to make of Blade, they couldn’t call her a friend, but she wasn’t exactly an enemy either. Charley didn’t like her, period. Midnight wasn’t sure how she felt, but she knew in her heart that the Hellraiser girl wasn’t evil. She had a feeling there was a deeper reason as to why Blade did what she did. Unfortunately, her feeling on Blade was not shared by Vin, which meant they were currently in one of their ‘off’ times. Mid sighed, walking along the edge of Lake Michigan. She’d rode out here with Throttle, since the unofficial leader needed time to think and thought Mid might like some time away from Vinnie as well. Mid sighed, feeling slightly depressed and continued walking. However, she stopped short when an unusual sight caught her eye.
Blade. She was sitting next to the water’s edge, a drawing pad on her lap. What got Mid’s attention most was by her appearance. Instead of her leather pants and bandeau top, the red-head was wearing form fitting light blue jeans and a tank top, her sandals set off to the side. Stunning, blood red hair cascaded down her shoulders and back, the twin white streaks almost glowing in the sunlight. However, her glasses were still in place, hiding her eyes.
She’s…beautiful. I never would have guessed that someone as tough as Blade could look this…soft.
Mid stepped forward slowly, but stopped short when a gun was leveled at her. Apparently Blade took no chances, even when relaxing. It made Midnight wonder what kind of life she’d had. Smiling, the dark furred Martian raised her hands, showing she was defenseless. Blade eyed her for a few minutes before placing the gun back at her side. Mid took that to mean it was safe to approach. She sat down a comfortable distance from her, admiring the way the sun made her fur look like honey.
Why am I even thinking these things? Maybe its because Vin and I are fighting. At this point, all men are on my death list.
“See something you like?”
Mid jumped a little, startled by Blade’s voice. It sounded young, but with an almost sultry tone to it. Her voice sounded different from the last time she heard her speak, then she realized why. Blade was calm, seemingly happy. There was no mockery, no anger, or anything of the sort.
“Well, perhaps I do. You do look very nice today.”
Blade put down her pencil and turned to the other woman, raising an eyebrow, “You think I look nice? Aren’t you dating Adrenaline Boy, because the way you’re looking at me is not exactly in an innocent way, if you get my meaning.”
Mid blushed, feeling her face heat up under her fur. Putting her drawing pad aside, Blade leaned forward, her nose nearly touching Midnight’s.
“Or perhaps you’re just a little curious, hmm?”
Mid held her breath as she felt Blade’s lips ghost over hers, the Hellraiser smiling slightly at the small gasp from Midnight. The mouse girl felt herself getting hot, a heat that seemed to radiate out from her groin. Acting on impulse, Mid grabbed Blade’s face, pulling her closer and kissing her. Blade was a little surprised, but went with it, opening her mouth to Mid and tasting the other Martian. The golden-eyed girl moaned softly, allowing Blade to lay her down on the blanket that they were sitting on. Midnight felt like she was in a dream, nothing seemed real but the feel of Blade’s hands on her stomach and breasts, removing her clothing. The feel of hot, silky breath against her hardening nipples, of long slender fingers pushing their way inside of her, making her gasp in surprise and pleasure. Blade’s soft fur pressed against hers as she moved to kiss her again. Feeling bold, Mid ran her hands up Blade’s waist, causing the other girl to shudder in response, then moan softly when she ran them along her breasts. Blade continued to move her fingers within Mid, bringing the mouse up to a fevered pitch.
Neither girl realized that they were being watched.
************
Mid opened her eyes slowly, her body coming down off its high. To her right she heard soft purring, it was actually kinda soothing. Turning, Mid saw Blade smiling at her, her slender body basking in the sunlight. Mid smiled, but then saw how late it had gotten. She sat up quickly, pulling her cloths on to cover her nudity. Blade raised an eyebrow.
“Something wrong?”
“Its late, I should have gone back earlier. Oh God, what was I thinking?”
“You weren’t, hence the term ‘spur of the moment.’ If ya need to get back that soon, Shadow can ride ya. He’s discreet and will drop you off far enough away that they won’t know he brought you. Fair enough?”
Mid sighed in relief, “Yes, thank you. For everything,” she hesitated, then leaned down and kissed Blade before going to Shadow and leaving.
Blade laid down on her stomach, just feeling content. It wasn’t her first time with a woman, but Mid’s innocence drew her, it was something she lacked.
“It would seem you have interesting ways of entertaining yourself.”
Blade looked up in time to see a gold tail snatch her gun away. Glaring, she saw the Biker Mice leader standing next to the tree, smirking. The way he was standing though, made him seem uncomfortable.
“And what’s it to you, hmm?”
“It seems you have no self control.”
Blade glared, then noticed why he was standing funny. It seemed her little escapade with the mouse girl had affected him. She smirked.
“And you do? Why didn’t you just walk away when you caught us in the act?”
Throttle cursed softly under his breath before looking up at her. She was still thankfully on her stomach, the only thing visible was her backside. She eyed him warily, though not without interest. Seeing her gun lying close by, Blade made a grab for it, Throttle moving at the same time. They ended up on the further end of the blanket with Blade on her back and Throttle leaning over her. Blade could feel his arousal through his pants, her breath coming in short gasps from their excursion. Throttle looked down at her, loyalty and need warring with one another. As much as he loved Charley, he did have needs and it had been a year since they’d done anything of the sort. Leaning down, he pressed his lips to Blade’s, her mouth opening against his. Her back arched a bit under his questing hands, her eyes closing slightly. He removed his vest then, having made up his mind. Blade looked up at him, suddenly realizing what was going on. Her voice came out as a whisper.
“Be gentle, ok?”
************
Throttle headed back to the Scoreboard, having no desire to go to the garage. He felt satisfied and happy, going back to the Last Chance would just ruin that. Knowing his bros, Throttle knew he had to come up with an excuse as to why he was so late. Can’t exactly tell them that he was having sex with the Martian that had captured them. That thought made him smile a bit. He’d taken her request seriously and had been gentle, unless she asked for more. Throttle could still feel the press of her legs around him as he’d thrust in to her. When it was over, her rather coy smile made him smile back.
“I trust you feel better now?”
Chuckling, Throttle could tell from that single comment that she didn’t miss much. And she was strong, there was no doubt of that. Throttle sighed as he pulled in to the Scoreboard, seeing his bros turn to him.
“Hey Bro, what took ya so long?”
“Yeah man, what were ya doing?”
“I was just walking, trying to clear my head. Guess I lost track of time.”
Vinnie eyed him, “But why are you wet, Bro?”
Throttle laughed, “Because I had the misfortune to find one of the biggest mud holes I’d ever seen and fall in. I took a dip in the lake to clean off, then dried up a little. That’s also why I’m late.”
“Oh, well, you should let us know next time! That crazy Martian bitch is still out there after all.”
Oh yeah, I KNOW she’s out there Vin, believe me.
************
Blade sat on a rock, one which sat slightly above the water’s edge. The last rays of sunlight had dried her fur and hair, the wind keeping her from feeling overly warm. Wearing only her long, unbound hair, the Arien woman looked out across the water, her eyes taking in the lights from Chicago. Soon. Soon it would be time for her to put her plan in to action and rescue her friend. He was coming and this time he was going to pay. Three days later found the Hellraiser hiding high above an encampment. Blade bit her lip, studying the camp below her. There were far more Sandraiders and Rats then the report let on. If she tried to do this mission alone, it would be suicide. She needed help and Blade knew of only one place to get it. Sighing in resignation, Blade got on her bike and headed back to Chicago, to a garage known as the Last Chance.
************
Charley was clearing away the last of the dinner dishes when she heard a motorcycle approaching. The mechanic looked confused, since the guys were already there.
Perhaps its just a passing bike.
To Charley’s shock, the bike pulled in to the garage, its rider dismounting easily. It was then that Charley realized who it was.
“Guys! We got trouble!” The mechanic yelled, backing away from Blade quickly.
Four Martians came down the stairs quickly, Vinnie in the lead with Mid bringing up the rear. Vinnie and Modo immediately pulled weapons on the Arien, while Throttle and Midnight had different reactions entirely. Mid was acutely embarrassed to see Blade there, hoping it wasn’t because of her. Throttle had a feeling that Blade’s reason for being at the garage was a serious one.
Blade calmly removed her helmet, her blood red hair up in its customary bun. Laying the helmet on her bike seat, she turns back to the others, regarding them behind her shades, “You can put your weapons away, I’m not gonna harm ya.”
“Yeah, like we really believe that, Sweetheart.”
Blade looked at Vin, startled, “What, never heard anyone say ‘sweetheart’ before?”
Shaking her head, Blade looks around her, frowning, “I need your help.”
Throttle stares at her, stunned, “Our help? With what?”
“A rescue mission.”
