[Nightwolf’s Thoughts]
/Nightwolf’s Jagan Eye’s Thought’s/ Yes I know Hiei’s doesn’t talk to him I thought it would be kewl if it had a mind of its own.
Chapter 1: Day 1
As Yumi walked down the hall towards her first class of the day she over heard some of the other girls whispering and decided to stop to hear what they were saying.
“Did you see the new boy that entered the office?” asked one girl.
“Yeah he was awfully cute. You think he dyed his hair silver?” said another.
“What I want to know is what is up with the red bandana,” said the third girl.
“At least it matched his red clothes. I’ve never seen anyone wear an all red outfit before.” the first girl noted.
“What about that silver case he carries. I heard Jim tried to take it from him and the boy growled at him.” said the second girl.
“The boy growled at Jim?” “What did the Principal do?” asked the other two girls.
“I heard that the Principal gave the new boy permission to carry it wherever he wanted. In fact he was given permission as a stipulation of becoming a student here. He even carries around a note so the teachers don’t bother him about it,” said the second girl.
Although she wanted to hear more about the strange new boy, Yumi decided to head off to class so that she would not be late. As she settled into her normal seat and waited for class to start, someone knocked gently on the classroom door.
“Ah, you must be the new student Principal Delmas said would be arriving. Don’t be shy introduce yourself and where you come from,” said the teacher while suspiciously eyeing the silver case the new student was carrying.
“Salutations, my name is Nightwolf de Razuke. I’m originally from Akita, Japan” the boy replied. “Here’s a letter from the Principal saying I can keep the case with me at all times,” he continued while handing the letter to the teacher to examine.
“I heard he moved here after his parents died in a car crash.” whispered a girl in the back of the room to the girl next to her.
“Gawd he is so handsome, with that long flowing silver hair. I wonder what he looks like under that red trench coat.’ thought Yumi, her jaw dropping slightly and eyes shining in wonder at the beauty of the new boy.
“Quiet please, class. Well Yumi,” says the teacher, “since you seem to be fixated with young Mr. de Razuke, would you be so kind as to show him around and tell him the rules concerning actions while on school grounds while his room is being prepared?” Yumi could only nod quietly, not trusting her voice. “Thank you.” The teacher turned back to the boy and asked, “How should I address you? Do you prefer Mr. de Razuke or Nightwolf?”
“Nightwolf will be fine, ma’am,” said Nightwolf dryly.
“Well then Nightwolf, if you would take the seat next to Yumi, we can begin today’s lecture.” said the teacher. The rest of the day went on normally enough; although Yumi was disappointed to learn she had no other classes in common with Nightwolf. After school let out Yumi decided to find Nightwolf and show him around the school.
‘Where could he be?’ thought Yumi, while wondering the school grounds.
“Oh hello there Yumi,” says Principal Delmas.
“Hello sir,” says Yumi. “Do you know where Nightwolf is? I was told by my teacher to show him around and teach him the school campus rules.”
“The last time I saw him, he was heading toward his room. He said he wanted to see if Jim set up his room the way he’d requested. His room is to immediately the left of Jeremy’s,” said the Principal.
“Thank you sir,” said Yumi, and headed towards Nightwolf’s room. As she got closer to the door she heard some music playing and Nightwolf’s voice talking, but she could not hear who he was speaking to. ‘He must be on the phone talking to someone,’ she thought.
“Yes I know what today is,” she overheard him say. “Every time I hear this song, you remind me of the promise I made to her when we were young. I just wish I knew what happened to her. Lord Koenma didn’t give us much to go on, you know.”
After hearing that statement Yumi let out a soft gasp, and slowly backed away from the door. ‘He’s here to investigate someone’s disappearance? Who is this “Lord Koenma” he spoke of?’ she thought to herself. She then turned and left quickly, hoping Nightwolf wouldn’t catch her eavesdropping outside his door.
Inside Nightwolf’s room:
/You hear that?/
[Yes I did. Someone is outside the door was listening to my little rant]
/You mean someone “was” outside “our” door. You should be more careful with those little rants of yours. Humans have a tendency to lock up people they think are crazy/
[Human’s are weird. To comprehend one would take too much time. Time better spent on finding out who killed my sister. *sniff* *sniff*]
/What is it?/
[That smell, it’s the girl from the first class I went to. Gahh what was her name…?]
/You mean that cute girl in black? I think her name is Yumi/
[You’re almost as bad as Youko, but you are right she was cute, for a human. Yes, now I remember she was supposed to show me around the school grounds]
/Don’t forget the case/
[We’re on a school grounds. We should be safe. Unlike Youkai parents, human parents tend to smother their pups for a longer period of time]
/Just bring the case. There is something weird about this place, like it exists out of time yet not/
[Can you explain that please?]
/Surely you sensed the time barrier around Yumi. There are four other similar barriers in this school too. The strange thing about these barriers is that they don’t protect those people against the flow of time! This allows them to travel time and still remember things, which is very strange/
[Track the source of what’s causing the barriers to stay up, and see who the other barriers are on]
/The first part will be a little difficult, the second I’ve already done. When I noticed the unusual barrier around Yumi, I checked to see if others had the same barrier. I ran across their minds one floor down. They are all in the same class and are friends with Yumi. I stuck around long enough to know their names/
[Please don’t let me be the reason you stop talking]
/You really need to work on your people skills. Their names are Jeremy, Ulrich, Odd, and Aelita/
[Okay, dig in all five of their minds, find out what this is all about and see if they met my sister. Meanwhile I’m going to have to chase after Yumi. Dig especially in Yumi’s mind. I want to know how much of my ranting she overheard]
/Can I suggest something?/
[Sure, beats having me walk around the grounds and becoming lost]
/Go to the cafeteria. It’s time for dinner, if I remember the schedule you were given. She might look for you there/
[Good idea, I am hungry]
Kadic Academy Cafeteria:
Nightwolf casually walked towards the cafeteria enjoying the peace brought on by the fact that his Jagan Eye was otherwise occupied at the moment. Upon walking into the cafeteria he sensed the barriers that his Jagan was talking about. Quickly scanning the room, he saw the four he was told about. Deciding not to confront them now, he went to get dinner and sat down in the back of the room. Just as he was about to eat he saw Yumi walk in. ‘Damn I hate when he’s right’ he thought. /I heard that/
[Shut up you]
Yumi quickly scanned the room for Nightwolf. When she had realized that it was time for dinner she thought she might find him there. Spotting him in the corner she decided to properly introduce herself to him before showing him the grounds and telling him the rules.
‘Damn the girls earlier are right, he is gorgeous. No I like Ulrich….well I think I do, but looking at Nightwolf I’m not so sure anymore,’ thought Yumi.
“You should really learn to shield your mind more,” says Nightwolf.
“You can read minds?” asked Yumi inquisitively.
“I try not to, but since this is a new place I have yet to be able to shield myself from the constant noise of the other student’s thoughts.” says Nightwolf. “Now weren’t you supposed to show me around school?”
“Yes, I was. Where would you like to start?” asked Yumi.
“Right now I would like to know if there is a place where I can exercise without being bothered.” says Nightwolf.
“Yes, there is a place. Follow me I’ll show you where it is.” said Yumi, and led him towards the forest. As they entered the forest Yumi noticed that Nightwolf had stopped. “What’s wrong?” she asked Nightwolf.
“Something big is coming our way, and it’s coming fast,” said Nightwolf as he put down the case and began to open it. “Stay behind me and out of my way and I should be able to protect you.”
Yumi gasped as she saw the four swords in the case. Two of them looked like the Boken training swords her mother had told her about. The other two looked like the katana she’d seen pictures of while reading about ancient Japanese Youkai myths. “What are you planning on doing with those,” she asked as he brought out the katanas.
“I’m going to defend myself and you from the creature. If it comes to it I might have to destroy it. I’d rather not if I don’t have to, but if I’m forced to I will,” said Nightwolf as he took a basic defensive stance. “Shh, now be quiet the creature is almost here.”
Suddenly an eight-foot tall orange krabe sauntered around the curve in the trail ahead of them, causing Yumi to gasp. With its tough crab-like body and the ability to fire a strong laser blast from its eyes, it was a sight to make most people’s knees to turn to jelly. ‘Xana’s sent a krabe after me to kill me’ thought Yumi.
“I don’t know what this Xana is, but if the thing you call a krabe is here to kill you, it will have to get by me first,” declared Nightwolf.
“You can’t! You’ll only get yourself hurt,” exclaimed Yumi, concern for Nightwolf’s safely evident in her voice.
‘So she does care for me. I thought her attraction was lust rather than actual care like the other girls in this school,’ thought Nightwolf. “Don’t worry about me,” he told her. “I’ve faced things even worse than this creature,” he said confidently. “Just stay behind me and everything will be fine.”
/It’s not a Youkai/
[What makes you so sure it’s not a Youkai?]
/It has no Youkai Energy/
Convinced by his calm and determined attitude, Yumi decided it best to immediately inform her friends that Xana had launched an attack. Preparations had to be made, and quickly.
/Umm if you hadn’t noticed that cute girl has gone to her friends/
[If you hadn’t noticed I’m a little busy with this thing she called a krabe. I’ll find her later but first I must deal with the creature. Though it does make it easier not having to tell her how I move so fast.]
/Good point/
With the speed of his Youkai heritage, Nightwolf placed himself on top of the krabe in an instant. The krabe was unable to turn its eyes on him to fire its lasers and tried to throw him off, but Nightwolf clung tightly and couldn’t be budged.
[How do you think I should kill it?]
/Normal hack and slash should work/
[That’s no fun, but oh well. We don’t know if anyone around here can detect spirit energy, so I guess it’s best to use a normal attack]
With that he sliced the krabe in half with one smooth, lightning-fast sweep of the blade.
[Hmm…you were correct. It wasn’t a demon, but a giant robot. What can create something this complicated?]
/I don’t know, maybe that girl who ran off will know./
[Good point. We should wait here, maybe she ran off to get help.]
/Suit yourself. Call me if something really dangerous attacks/
Meanwhile in Jeremy’s Room
“Hey Yumi what’s up?” asked the blond boy sitting at the computer, as Yumi rushed in, breathless from her run from the woods.
“I think Xana has launched an attack, a krabe just tried to attack me in the woods,” said Yumi.
“Hey Yumi,” said the girl with pink hair.
“Yes Aelita?” asked Yumi.
“Where’s that cute silver haired boy, I thought you was supposed show him around the school grounds,” said Aelita.
“I was going to, but we were attacked by the krabe. He’s still in the woods,” said Yumi.
“You left him out there with the krabe?!” asked the brown haired kid sitting on the bed, shocked.
“He said he faced worse stuff before, Ulrich. I believed him so I came to tell you guys about the attack. Besides, that case he carries has two very sharp katana’s in it, and he certainly appeared to know how to use them,” said Yumi.
“What’s his name, and where did you leave him,” asked Ulrich as he headed for the door.
“His name is Nightwolf de Razuke, he’s on the trail to the Grove,” said Yumi.
“I’ll go check on him, while you Odd, Jeremy, and Aelita go deactivate the tower,” said Ulrich, “It shouldn’t be too long. After all it was just one krabe.” With that he bolted out the door towards the forest. ‘I hope I make it there on time, I don’t want another incident like with that girl last year.’ He thought.
===============================================================
Kadic Academy Grove: (I don’t know what else to call the forest that the group goes to)
[Damn I thought they’d never stop coming. Crap, here comes another one, I knew it was too good to be true.]
/No this is different. It’s not the krabe things as Yumi called them. This is coming from the school/
[And its headed strait for us]
/So you sense it to/
[Youkai or Ningen]
/Hanyou, with incredible spirit energy/
[How come you didn’t sense it before?]
/I did but it was so weak I thought it was a newborn. This is….well different/
As Ulrich ran into the Grove he saw pieces of what used to be nine krabe. Nightwolf was standing in the middle of the carnage with a slight smirk forming on his face. Ulrich nodded to Nightwolf to acknowledge his skill. “Hold on a moment, please…I need to check on something”, he said, and went a few feet away to make what he thought would be a private cell phone call.
“Jeremy, how’s Aelita doing in Lyoko,” said Ulrich.
/We should listen in on this conversation/
[I am]
“She’s alright. Yumi and Odd got her to the tower,” said Jeremy. “What about Nightwolf is he still alive?”
“Yes, with nine dead krabe all around him, very impressive. This guy is strangely familiar, I don’t know how or why but I swear I’ve seen him before,” said Ulrich.
“Well, I’m going to do a Return To The Past we can figure out why he’s here,” said Jeremy
/Hmm…I think I have an explanation for the time barrier/
[Not now. Can you create one around me?]
/Yes/
[Do it]
(Cue RTTP sound :P)
Jeremy’s Room:
“What is it Ulrich?” asked Yumi, after noticing the puzzled expression on Ulrich’s face.
“Has Jeremy told you what I told him before the RTTP?” asked Ulrich.
“Not yet,” Jeremy put in. “I wanted everyone here before I said anything.”
“Okay, we’re all here, so I’ll tell you guys. I said he was strangely familiar, like I’ve seen him before. I felt the same thing when I saw him enter the cafeteria. Also, just before the RTTP bubble got to me something strange happened,” said Ulrich.
“What happened?” said the other four, almost in unison.
“I could have sworn that a glow in the shape of an eye appeared in the middle of his forehead, and he shimmered. Then the bubble hit me, so I didn’t get a chance to ask him what was going on with him,” said Ulrich. “What I’d like to know is…what was that glow?!”
“Perhaps I can answer that question,” said Nightwolf as he walked into the room.
So ends The revised Chapter 1. After some advise from some friends i've decided to extend the story a bit a give it a much clearer storyline.
If you cant tell what the story line is i suggest you re-read it. and to the person who said i stole this idea from someone else. I've had this story idea in my head for the past few months only reason i didnt put it down earlier is because when my mind creates a story for me to write it usually doesnt have a clear meaning behind it so it takes me a couple of months to peice it together so there a clear heros, villians, and a well thought up storyline.
