Betas: Thanks to Tucsoncoyote for helping me choreograph the dance scenes and choosing the music for the dance sequences.
Author’s notes: This idea came from the episode Hidden Talent as Bonnie Rockwaller states that she has majored in ballet for 12 (now 13) years and in fact Bonnie Loves to dance. Also there will be references to some movies, such as Bring it on (The first few minutes of the movie), and yes the Dance Scenes in the club are choreographed so that they match the routines shown. The Characters may or may not be in character but this is an adult setting so language will be heard. Also this is my second fan fiction.
*Disclaimer: I don’t own any of the characters of Kim Possible or even the music for the dance routines, and I’m not writing this story to make any money off of it.. period.
Chapter 1: To Tell the Lie
Bonnie Rockwaller was still a bit worried as senior year started and in fact it had been a long summer.
First off her grades had been slipping just a little as she was busy working on keeping her Grade point average up to keep herself from flunking, but with no thanks to her boyfriend Brick Flagg could she keep her mind on anything.. Then of course there was the night of the Prom when she tried to put down her rival Kim Possible, when she started dating Ron Stoppable. Now to most of the school, there was always this rivalry between Kim and Bonnie, and usually in the case of Bonnie Rockwaller, she usually ended up being the one always coming in second, and she hated it...
But what really worried her is that her parents wanted her to earn her way through college. It wasn’t that the Rockwaller’s hadn’t planned for Bonnie’s future but rather had in fact decided to make a deal with bonnie... if she got a job and was able to make money and support herself, then her mother and father would chip in and pay for half of the first year Tuition to Go City University.
And that was if she got a job.
As Bonnie sat up in her room reading the classified section of the Middleton News, she was looking for something that she could do, and yet wouldn’t mean a lot of work.
Frankly Working for Bueno Nacho wasn’t Bonnie’s Style, nor was in fact working at some place like a secretarial pool or even delivering pizzas. After all she had gotten her own car, this year and that in itself had gobbled up a lot of the Tuition Money she had saved up.
Bonnie was still browsing the paper and still looking for a job. She couldn’t type, didn’t know a thing about filing and her attitude on the phone really just were lousy, making snide comments sometimes. But she needed a job if she was ever going to get out of Middleton, and go to college.
But a lot of the jobs required for a High School Diploma and in fact some of them wanted even more... and Bonnie wasn’t skilled enough to do a lot of them.
So she pondered to herself, “What other skills do I have?” She thought about her cheerleading skills, and of course she had figured out early that cheerleading was definitely a job at all not unless you got a job with the Go City Cougar football team.
But she also had other talents. After all Bonnie had been at one time taking ballet, and in fact she was today looking in an area of the newspaper that was rather untried.. And it was then that she saw perhaps the answer to her problems...
The advertisement read:
*** Dancers Wanted *
Must be in top physical shape able to keep time with music and to keep the audience entertained. Will pay top dollar for Extra dances. Must be willing to dress up and look good, anyone over 18 can apply with valid proof of age. Good Pay Excellent house, large tips.
Bonnie Read that advertisement and smiled. After all she could dance, and in fact she had a great body. And of course she was stylish in dressing in fashion. The only thing she needed was valid proof of her age, and even the tips were large from what the advertisement said.
She noted the advertisement and circled the address and phone number. Being a Friday night, she would contact them first thing in the morning.
The next morning, Bonnie awoke to the Alarm going off in her bedroom; she looked over at the clock. 8 am. Bonnie figured what a great day to start a new Career, and after she got down showering, Bonnie put on some rather usual street cloths, Her pink strap top, her matching pink skirt, as well as a pair of Calf high black boots. Bonnie also did up her hair a little, and in fact even put on a little makeup, and before she went downstairs to get breakfast she printed out her resume and decided what clothing she would take to the audition with her, before she decided to head down to breakfast. After all taking on a career in dancing took a lot of energy, and Bonnie knew that she needed to have lots of energy if she was to get this job.
As she got downstairs she was greeted by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Rockwaller, and her two older sisters, Lonnie and Connie.
As Bonnie sat down at the kitchen table across from her older sisters, Mr. Rockwaller gave his wife a peck on the cheek, then sat down at the kitchen table looking at his three daughters. “So how are my favorite girls today?” Mr. Rockwaller asked as Mrs. Rockwaller brought the stack of pancakes and orange juice to the table, along with the maple syrup. “So Bon-Bon,” Mrs. Rockwaller said, I was wondering if you had found some sort of job, after all you know what we said, here, Right George?” Mrs. Rockwaller said to her husband who looked at his youngest daughter. “That’s right, if you get a job, then we’ll help support your college tuition.” Bonnie Looked across the table to her sisters, and it was blond haired Lonnie who spoke up first, “Yeah like Bonnie can find a decent job.”
Bonnie frowned a little as she realized that her older sisters were giving her the usual ‘pecking order routine’ on her yet again, but Mrs. Rockwaller looked at the two older siblings, “Now Connie, Lonnie, I think you should cut Little Bon-Bon a little slack here.” But the two older girls just continued to try and get Bonnie to blow up. But Bonnie looked at her mother and smiled, “Well Mother, I actually did find something I was really interested in.” Bonnie replied. “Oh?” replied Mrs. Rockwaller? “Would you mind letting us in on what you found for a Job?” added Mr. Rockwaller.
“Knowing Bonnie and her aptitude,” the older brunette Connie spoke up, “She probably got a job stuffing doughnuts,” as both older sibs kind of giggled to themselves. But their humiliation of their younger sister really didn’t faze Bonnie.
“Actually Mom and Dad, I found a rather good paying job then I realized, I’m going to check it out later this afternoon, Bonnie said, “ of course, I was wondering if I could take my aerobics outfit with me, I was uh…” Bonnie decided to lie a little at this point, “I’m planning to work out some more at the gym, after school.”
Mrs. Rockwaller smiled, “So what kind of job is it, Bon-Bon?” Mr. Rockwaller asked.
Again Bonnie lied, “It’s a job for an aerobics instructor and work out partner.”
Both parents didn’t realize that they youngest daughter had just lied to them twice. “Well that’s wonderful dear!” Mrs. Rockwaller said as she came over and hugged her youngest daughter. Bonnie looked over at her older sibling sisters who were rather surprised, and both of the older girls kept silent for the rest of breakfast.
After packing in her small cheerleader duffle back her aerobic outfit, as well as her cheerleader outfit and even her ballet outfit as well as her resume, Bonnie headed towards her next location that she needed to go to, which of course was the Department of Motor Vehicles. I’ve got to now make this one small change to my Driver’s License Bonnie thought to herself, and I’ll be all set. A few minutes later, Bonnie Rockwaller pulled into the parking lot of the DMV. As she got out of the car she slipped on a pair of sunglasses and made sure that no one that she knew would recognize her, until she got inside the DMV. She went into the office and soon got to one of the DMV agents. “How may I help you?” A young woman asked smiling at the young girl.
“Well, “Bonnie began her story, “I was looking at my driver’s License and I noted that the date of birth on my drivers License said I was born on May 14th, 1988. Bonnie then looked at the DMV agent and then added, “I think they got my age wrong.” “Oh?” The agent replied, “What is the date supposed to be?”
“May 14th 1987,” Bonnie lied to the DMV representative. The representative brought up Bonnie’s Record as she began to type in the new information. God how stupid the Department of Motor Vehicles is. Bonnie thought to herself. And as the Representative finished making the corrections, she smiled and printed out a temporary license receipt and smiled, “That’ll be four dollars.” The DMV representative replied. Bonnie Pulled out a five dollar bill and gave it to the representative, before she got her new temporary license and her one dollar’s worth of change back, “Be sure to have this with you at all times.” The representative replied, “Your new card will be sent to you in the mail in about 4 to 6 weeks. “Thanks.” Bonnie replied smiling, as she slipped the now falsified document and the change into her purse and left to get back into her car. As she slid into the driver’s seat, she pulled out the advertisement that she had circled and smiled. Too Easy thought Bonnie to herself.
As Bonnie looked at the advertisement again, she realized one thing… The Advertisement didn’t have an address, but it did have a phone number, so Bonnie pulled out her cell phone, and dialed the number, after a few rings a female voice was heard on the other end of the Line. “Hello, the Pink Kitty Cat Club, My name’s Kitty, How can I help you?” the Voice replied. ,
Bonnie smiled as she replied, “Yes, I’m interested in the Dancer Job that you have advertised in the Middleton Herald,” Bonnie Said, But I see you don’t have an address of your club, where I would need to go to have an audition. I was wondering where this Job is?” Bonnie asked.
Well Our Location is located at 322 West Sixth Avenue,” The Woman Replied, Bonnie Jotted down the address, and the quickly thanked the woman for the address before adding, “I should be there in about 20 minutes.” Kitty at the other end replied, “Alright be sure to have your resume with you, and your proof of identification.” Kitty replied, “Oh and Parking is in the back of the club. Oh and one final thing who will I be say is going to be auditioning as in your name?” She added
“Bonnie… Bonnie Rockwaller.” The Young teen replied.
“Okay Bonnie,” Kitty replied, I’ll see you in about half an hour. “Thank you Kitty.” Bonnie replied before she hung up. Bonnie then started her car and put the car in reverse and carefully back out of the parking lot of the Department of Motor Vehicles.
About 20 minutes later, Bonnie was looking for the place that she had jotted down the address for and as she turned onto West Sixth Avenue, she realized that she was no longer in Middleton but rather she was in Lowerton, and in fact this was one of the “Sleazier” Parts of the City of Lowerton. As she went west on Sixth she came upon The Pink Kitty Cat club. From what Bonnie could tell, it was a non-descript building that had very few windows, and in fact was painted a light shade of pink with a giant sign out front that had the picture of a Pink Cat on it. Bonnie found the driveway to the back of the club and pulled her car into a parking spot. She got out of the car, and taking her duffle bag with her, she went to the Door of the Club and found it to be open.
As she stepped inside she could tell the club was fairly dimly lit and was rather spacious, but the one thing that caught her senses was the smell of cigarette smoke, that had been soaked into most of the objects around her. It smelled more like some of Middleton High’s Bathrooms rather then just a club.
It was then a well dressed woman of about 35 came around a corner and eyed the Young woman. “Can I help you?” The woman asked, the young woman smiled and replied, “I’m Bonnie Rockwaller, the woman who’s inquiring about the dancing job?” The Woman smiled, “Ah yes, Miss Rockwaller is it?” The woman said smiling and extended a hand. Bonnie took the hand and shook it before Kitty Motioned to a nearby booth and started to ask Bonnie about her resume. Bonnie Pulled out the Resume and The woman looked at it and was impressed. “You’ve had Thirteen years of Ballet Training?” Kitty asked. “Yes, Ma’am” Bonnie replied flashing the woman a smile. “Impressive Miss Rockwaller,” Kitty said, “Now about personal identification…” Kitty Began, “The Reason I need it is to prove that you’re 18 years of age, after all I run a respectable club. And I don’t want trouble from anyone. You did bring that with you didn’t you Miss Rockwaller?”
Bonnie decided to lie yet again, “Well,” Bonnie began, “I had my driver’s license stolen yesterday and I had to get a replacement today.” As she reached into her purse and pulled out the receipt she had for the new License. Kitty Frowned a little, “Too bad that you didn’t catch the guy who lifted your Driver’s License.” But as she looked at the paper she could see that According to the printout that Bonnie was indeed 18 years of age.
Kitty then smiled, “Well as long as you have this or your new Driver’s License then We should have no problems.” Kitty said. “But I’ll need to make at least a copy of this receipt for my records.” She added. “I’ll be right back. With that the middle aged woman got up and disappeared for a few moments. Bonnie sat a little bit nervous wondering if the woman would really check the information out, but in a few moments Kitty Came back and gave Bonnie the receipt back. “Alright then,” Kitty said smiling to Bonnie. “Why don’t we go to the “Dressing Rooms, and You can then get ready to show me how well you can dance.” Kitty Replied as she got up from the booth and then lead the way as Bonnie followed her. She followed Kitty to a door and as Kitty opened the door, Bonnie saw that the Dressing room was spacious and well lit, much like the cheerleader changing room at Middleton high, with plenty of mirrors so she could do her make up. “Pick seat and feel free to choose whatever you have with you, and then I want to see you up on stage in about 10 minutes.” Kitty replied. “Oh and Miss Rockwaller, is there any particular music you would like to dance to?” Kitty asked before she turned to leave. “Bonnie thought about for it for a moment and then figured something hip hop would be decent. “Go anything in particular in terms of Hip hop, Bonnie?” Kitty asked. Bonnie just shook her head. “No and you don’t mind if I change clothes now do you?” Kitty smiled, “No I don’t mind.” And with that kitty Closed the door and Bonnie went to work changing out of her street clothes to that of her cheerleader outfit, and as she finished her make up, and got everything in order she realized that she would need one final thing. I bet whoever I dance for would love me to use my pom-poms.
Bonnie said with a smile and as she finished she came out of the dressing room and Kitty looked at her, “So you’re a cheerleader huh?” Kitty asked, “What High School Did you go to? She asked Bonnie. As Bonnie climbed the stairs to the darkened stage she replied, “I used to go to Upperton High, Graduated last year.” Bonnie lied again. “I’m planning to go to Go City University next fall, and well I needed the money.” Bonnie said.
Kitty moved over to a disco set up and as she got there she flipped a switch and the Stage illuminated before Bonnie and Bonnie could see that on the stage that there was a large brass pole at the end of the Runway. “Uh Excuse me Kitty.” Bonnie said as she looked around puzzled, “Why is there a pole at the end of the runway?” Kitty smiled back at the young girl, “Trust me if you want to you can use it as part of your routine.” Kitty said reassuringly. Bonnie looked at Kitty and then Kitty said, “You ready to Audition?” Bonnie nodded, and Kitty started the track of some music. Bonnie realized what the tune was. And it was the song “Nasty Boys” by Janet Jackson. Time to Bring it on, Bonnie thought to herself as she struck an initial pose.
