Disclaimer: I do not own Gargoyles/Disney related but the original character, Eve Anderson, is from my own mind and is not a character of Disney. I get no pay and am only doing this for fun |
Coyote opens the car door, smirking as Eve blushes as she steps out. “Do not be embarrassed, My Queen. You are ravishing when you are overwhelmed with pleasure.” He winks at her. “It is beautiful to see.”
Her blush deepens, ducking her head to hide it as she hears Owen stepping out. “Um, thanks I think.”
Owen chuckles behind her and gently takes her arm, draping it over his. “We will see you inside, Coyote. Thank you for the ride.” He leads her inside, grinning as she tries to calm herself. “He truly did mean it as a compliment.”
“I know. I’m just not sure I’ll ever get over how blasé you guys handle sex.” She sighs and leans into his arm. “So once tonight is over I’ll be left alone for a while?”
“Mostly, although there will be those who will always gravitate towards you.” They ride the elevator to their floor. When the door opens, he feels her hesitate to step out. “You are perfect and many of them already love you. Just be yourself.”
David and Justin glances at their watches again as Fox eyes the guests pouring into the ballroom. “Could you two be any more impatient? You are reminding the guests that our bride and groom haven’t arrived yet.” She growls softly at them.“Just wondering what’s taking them so long.” David glances around the room as well, noting the large number of Fae who stayed after the ceremony. “It’s unlike Owen to be late to anything.”
“I know what I’d be doing.” Justin murmurs, a slight smile on his lips.
Fox grins back, winking at him. “Oh I’m positive that’s what they are doing. Only one way to get a handfasting cloth off.”
David tries to hide his laugh behind a cough. “Really? Did your mother tell you about that?”
“No.” She scans the crowd again before taking his arm and leading them to the high table. “I overheard her telling Oberon to be patient with their return. He replied ‘Puck was never known to be one who is quick in pleasuring a woman. What makes you believe he has changed now?’ so I figured it out.”
“Blunt much?” Justin settles into his seat and sips at his drink.
“Oh, you have NO idea!” David pulls Fox’s seat out just as Alexander jogs up to them.
“They’re here!” He flops down in his seat. “I saw them pull up! They must have stopped somewhere and changed clothes on the way here cause Eve’s not in her wedding dress anymore.”
David and Justin give each other a knowing smile.
Eve stares at the wooden doors, almost afraid to see who is on the other side. Owen gently takes her hand, lifting it to his lips for a quick kiss. “We can’t stay here much longer, My Wife. They are getting restless.”“I know.” She sighs, closing her eyes for a moment. “I can feel it from here. Let’s get this over with.”
Coyote nods, pushing the doors open wide and announcing them as if they were human royalty. Owen snorts in laughter under his breath before lifting her hand and putting it over his arm. He gives it a soft pat and leads her through the room full of humans and Fae, aware of all the eyes searching their hands. Fox, David, Justin, and Alexander rise as they get to the high table, Justin pulling out their chairs so they can sit.
Owen nods to him but doesn’t sit. “I have to apologize to those who thought they were coming to a traditional wedding. Eve and I have different upbringings so we decided to forgo the traditional and bring in traditions from both.” He holds out his hand to David. “I was reminded when we got here that we ‘forgot’ something.” David grins and hands Owen and Eve the rings. Owen smirks at Eve, sliding it onto her finger. “I hope this makes everyone happy now.”
“I hope so.” She smirks back, leaning forward and kissing him softly as she slides a ring on his finger as well.
A cheer goes up as they break away, settling down in their chairs for the moment. Several servers appear, plates of food on platter above their heads. Eve stares down at her steak, frowning slightly at it. Fox notices and leans towards her slightly. “Something wrong with your food?”
“No.” Eve tries to not push it away from her. “Just nerves getting to me and making me not hungry.”
Fox smiles knowingly at her and hands her some crackers under the table.
Owen notices her nibbling on the crackers and only seeming to ‘eat’ at her plate by moving her food around. Her fingers nervously tap at the table as the food is finally cleared away. He leans close, whispering softly. “Calm down before you cut more than the cake.”
She grins, letting herself relax as she breathes him in. “I’m trying. Promise.”
He takes her hand and they stand, heading towards the wedding cake. Several flashes from cameras go off and Eve inwardly cringes at the thought of her photo being plastered on some newspaper somewhere. He gives her a soft squeeze before holding the knife out for her to take. “Remember, I am only doing this once. If you botch it up, I’ll never forgive you.”
She grins wickedly, grabbing the knife above his hand. “Such a challenge! Should I take that up?”
She sees him grinning just as wickedly back at her and quickly slices the cake, making sure to flip icing everywhere. He laughs, grabbing a finger full and flicking it at her face. She retaliates by grabbing a handful of cake and threatening to fling it at him.
Fox jumps up, grinning from ear to ear. “Children! Don’t ruin the cake! Some of us would like to get a piece before it’s gone!”
Eve lowers her hand, sighing theatrically. “Saved once again by Fox!” Just as she starts to put the piece down, she grins again. She tosses it over her shoulder, smacking him in the side of the head with it. He grabs her from behind and rubs his face against hers, smearing it all over her face. The humans laugh hysterically while the Fae stare in shock. Anastasia laughs along with the humans, knowing her brother would choose someone with the same sense of humor as him.
Servers bring wet towels and they quickly wipe off what they can. Justin grins, steering Eve to the tables full of presents. Eve pushes Owen down into the first seat, letting him sit next to all the presents. He pulls out a small pen knife and hands it to her. “You might need this or you will have no nails left.”
“Thanks.” She eyes Justin as he brings a small box and sets it between them. “I’m sure Justin duct taped half of them.”
“I didn’t even duct tape mine for a change.” He turns his back on the crowd and sticks his tongue out at her.
“Only cause Nalyah wouldn’t let you.” She counters back before lifting the tag to see who it’s from. “This is from David and Fox.”
Owen lifts the lid and finds a book of Etiquette. Eve laughs, shaking her head. “I believe they think you need more lessons.”
“Apparently.” She takes the next box from Justin and lifts the tag. “This one is from Justin’s family.”
Owen lifts the lid and pulls out an antler with dream catchers weaved between the points. Eve strokes it gently, noticing it’s not made with string. Owen grins. “I believe it is horse hair. Warrior and Thunder probably donated theirs.”
“I love it!” She grins back and sets it back in its box. “What’s next?”
“Mine!” Justin grins as he sets the low box between them.
Eve rolls her eyes and groans, pushing it towards Owen. “No more outfits!”
“It’s not for you!” Justin chuckles back as Owen opens the box and frowns.
Eve glances into the box and pales when she sees the matching set of baby clothes inside. Owen stares at her in confusion. “Wishful thinking on his part, I presume?”
“Actually, no.” She bites her lip nervously. “I was going to tell you tonight but Justin always has to jump the gun. I’m pregnant.”
Owen’s face goes completely devoid of all emotion, body going rigid. “How?”
“Well when two people have sex…” She rolls her eyes at him.
He angrily waves at her. “I know that part!” He lowers his voice when he realizes he’s making a scene. “What I don’t understand is how when I can’t as I am right now. I built it into the guise.”
“Well you wasn’t always as you are now, were you?” She gives him a look that conveys her thoughts on how dumb he is being. “And if the doctor is right, then it happened the first time and you REALLY weren’t ‘yourself’ that night.”
He blinks at her a few times and suddenly everything falls into place. Her moods, his possessiveness, her not eating like usual, and sickness all are explained. “Bloody hell!” He starts laughing softly. “Well that explains a lot!” He reaches down and gently strokes her stomach. “I never thought I would see this day.”
“Um, there’s more.” She laughs nervously as he glances up at her. “Apparently it’s twins.”
“What?!” He pales for a moment before laughing again. “I’m too old for this!” He lays his head in his hands and laughs harder.
Eve notices the whole room is quiet except for Owen’s laughter. “Um, I think you are scaring people now.”
He sits up and grins as he glances around the room. “Probably. Maybe we should share the news.” He stands and lifts a glass, tapping it for everyone’s attention. “It seems I was just given the best present of all and one I was not expecting. We are expecting and twins no less!”
The crowd cheers and Eve blushes furiously. Justin grins from behind the rest of the presents and Eve shoots him the evil eye. Owen settles back down next to her, gently stroking her stomach. “You know this means I will be even more protective than usual.”
“Of course.” She places her hand over his. “But if you step too far expect me to snap at you. I’m not going to break and I won’t let you treat me like glass.”
“I can live with that.” He leans over and kisses her softly. “Do we know what we are having yet?”
“Not yet.” She sighs and relaxes into his touch. “Ultrasound isn’t scheduled for another 2 weeks.”
“I will clear my schedule for that day.” He grins wickedly. “If anyone thinks they are keeping me away from seeing my children for the first time, they will be in for a rude awakening.”
Justin brings them their next present, turns and tries to run away as Eve lobs a bow at him.
