David leads the way to a table as close to the stage as he felt Owen would be comfortable with. Owen’s scowl hadn’t left his face from the moment they pulled into the parking lot, but he pulls out a chair between David and Justin and settles in. Goliath’s eyes roam over the crowd, noticing that not all the women are nearly naked.
“Why are some of the women wearing more clothing than others?” He settles on his chair, head still moving as he watches the humans walking by.
“Amateur night.” David grins and points at a small group of bikini clad women by a stage. “That’s so no one gets embarrassed and the guys know they really have to keep their hands off of them. They also are wearing masks so any guy that sees a woman here won’t try anything if he sees her outside of here.”
“Ah!” Goliath’s attention turns to a blonde woman walking their way with a red headed amateur trailing behind her.
Kira smiles at him and slides her arm across his shoulders. “Well, hello there! I heard we have a bachelor party going on tonight.” She grins at Justin, winking. “Which one of you is the lucky man?”
Justin points at Owen, smiling as his eyes take in the two beautiful women before him. “He is but if he doesn’t want two beautiful women hanging on him, I’ll gladly stand in.”
Eve tries not to laugh at Justin’s brazen behavior. Instead, she walks over to Owen and leans against him. Kira grins, walking over to his other side and leaning as well. “We wouldn’t want the lucky man to feel neglected now would we?” Kira kisses Owen’s cheek and Eve follows suit, almost laughing when he stiffens against them.
“Ladies, as beautiful as you are, I would appreciate it if you did not manhandle me.” He gently disengages himself from them. “I love my lady too much to indulge with you. I am only here because my friends insisted.”
Kira grins, gently wiping the red lipstick off his cheek. “We get very few noble men in here. I respect that.”
Eve clasps her hands and turns enough to wink at Justin. He frowns at her as he takes a sip of his beer. Her smile broadens and she winks long and slow at him. He begins sputtering, nearly spilling his beer as he realizes who she is. Goliath frowns, patting Justin on the back. ‘Are you well, Justin?”
He smiles back at her. “I’m fine. So when are you ladies going to be on stage? I’d like a front row seat.”
Kira walks over to him and kisses his cheek. “We should be on in 20 minutes. Madonna should be on just before us. When you hear ‘Addicted’ by Saving Abel, head to stage 1. We’ll be on next.”
He grins back. “We’ll be there.”
Kira hooks her arm in Eve’s and leads her out of earshot before laughing softly. “Your fiancé is a wonderful man. Not many would brush us off, let along so politely.”
“He’s definitely mine.” She smiles back, leaning into the girl slightly. “And he’s just as polite in bed. If I’m not happy, he’s not done.”
Kira laughs loudly, the men around them turning and grinning at them. Eve winks at them as they walk back to the back stage.
Owen finally finds himself loosening up, listening to the easy banter between the men around him. He didn’t pay attention to the music but could feel the beat vibrating through his body. Several women came by their table, trying to pique his interest by touching him, but none could keep his interest. Finally Justin stands and waves them to the stage. He sighs softly, not really wanting to go. He pulls the bottle from his jacket and quickly pours a small amount into the cup in front of him while the others are not watching. He has just enough time to stuff it back in his pocket before David turns back towards him with a lifted brow.
“Coming?” David notices Owen quickly gulp his drink down but bring his glass.
“Yes.” The drink hits him like dark honey on the back of his tongue and he feels the room begin to warm.
Justin waves them to the best seats, at the end of the long stage where they can perfectly see the dancers no matter where they are. Owen slides into the seat in the middle, very close to one of the poles. Suddenly the lights go dark, a haunting music playing as two women step up on stage. His eyes light on the red head, watching as her hips sway and grind to the music. She turns towards the blonde, running her hands and body against her suggestively. Finally, with a gentle brush of their lips against each other, they separate. The redhead strolls over to the pole nearest him and begins dancing around it. Something about the way she moves hypnotizes him. She leans back against the pole, rolling her hips as she moves lower and lower down it. Her eyes bore into his as she leans forward onto her knees and crawls the rest of the way towards him. Owen can hear Justin chuckling next to him but he can’t tear his eyes away from her. At the edge of the stage, she spins on her knees and begins swaying and shaking her ass in time with the music. Inches from his face, he finally blinks and tries to break the spell she has on him. He rubs his eyes and glances at Justin, who is watching both the dancer and Owen with amusement.
“Get me out of here.” He whispers to Justin.
“In a second.” Justin grins back. “The song is almost over and it would be rude to leave before its over.”
Owen closes his eyes and leans closer to Justin. “I drank from the bottle you gave me.”
Justin’s eyes widen. “You’re drunk?”
“Mildly.” His eyes stray to the dancer, a slight smile on her lips as she spins around the pole. “I need to go before I do something I might regret.”
The song ends and the dancer grins as she leans over to let David stuff money in her bikini. Goliath, who head the exchange, glances at David. “Is there a place we can take Owen for a few minutes?”
“Of course.” David smiles mischievously as he waves over a waitress and whispers something to her. He stands as she giggles and steps back. “Come on. She’ll take us to a private room.”
Owen unsteadily gets to his feet, letting Justin discreetly take his arm and lead him to the quieter private room. Inside they find a single chair sitting in the middle of the room. Justin steers Owen to it, sitting him down in it. Owen closes his eyes and lets his body relax.
“I will be fine in a few minutes.” He mutters. “The draught is short lived thankfully.”
Justin chuckles, gently pressing Owen’s hands down on the chair arms. “But thankfully not too short.”
Owen’s eyes flash open as he feels something tightening down on his arms. He glares at Justin and Goliath as they strap him down to the chair. “What are you doing?”
“Making sure you don’t do anything to the dancer while you are alone together.” David opens the door and lets the red head in. She smiles as she steps closer to Owen.
Justin pats Owen on the head and turns to wink at her. “Don’t play too rough with him. He’s drunk for a change.”
One brow shoots up as she eyes him speculatively. She waits until everyone is gone before cuing up the song she just danced to. Owen locks eyes with her as she straddles his lap, rotating her hips in an inviting way. “Why are you doing this?”
She leans closer, whispering softly in his ear. “Because I want to make this a party you’ll remember.”
Her sultry voice awakens his body, causing him to gasp in recognition. “Eve?”
She smiles, gently biting her lip as she slide the mask off of her face. Her laugh vibrates along his skin as she leans closer, rubbing her breasts over his face as she grinds against him. He moans softly, fingers tightening on the arms of the chair. She leans back enough to see his eyes gazing hungrily back at her. She steps away from him, dancing seductively until she is just far enough from him to make him frown. She closes her eyes, letting the music take over her movements. She can hear his breathing become ragged as she slides her hands over her body, mimicking the moves he has done to her before.
“Eve.” He growls softly. “Please.”
Her eyes snap open and she stares at him seductively at him over her shoulder as she continues to dance. With a slight movement, the bikini slides to the floor. She leans over and the boy shorts quickly follow. She steps back to him, leaning her now naked body against his. “Please, what?”
He gulps, trying to keep from becoming a hungry mess. “Please don’t tease me like this.”
She straddles him again, deftly unzipping him and stroking his hard length. “Who says I’m teasing?”
“Gods, woman!” He growls as she lowers herself onto him. “Anyone could come in!”
She slowly rides him, enjoying the feel of him becoming even harder inside him. “Don’t worry. Justin won’t let anyone in until I leave through that door and I blocked all cameras in here as well.”
He closes his eyes, burying his face in her breasts. His tongue snakes out, licking her until he finds her nipples. He captures one, suckling hard. She gasps, speeding up her thrusts. Her arms slide around his shoulders, keeping her at just the right angle to take him deeply. His head tips back, his lips locking onto hers as she begins to moan louder. Their tongues war with each other as she tighten around him. She opens their bond wide, letting the magic roll through them.
The magic hitting him while he is still under the influence of the drought suddenly makes his body extremely sensitive. He nearly cries out but her lips soften the sound. Her fingers tighten on his shoulders, her orgasm rolls through both of them. His teeth clamp down on her lip, keeping her from moving away as he quickly joins her. Breathe ragged, she chuckles and leans closer, letting her body cool against his. When he finally calms enough to open his eyes and really look at her, he frowns.
“What?” She leans away, using magic to clean them up.
“Tattoos?” He sighs softly as she stands and takes her body heat with her.
She laughs, fixing his clothes and erasing any trace of what they had done. “It was a leap of faith. I had to do something to make me unrecognizable to you.”
“It worked until you began dancing.” He watches her as she dresses quickly. “I couldn’t take my eyes off of you then.” He pulls at his bindings. “Letting me out soon?”
She laughs again, stepping close enough to breathe against his cheek as she whispers in his ear. “Nope. That’s for the guys to do.” She kisses him passionately again, letting her magic slide over his skin again.
“Vixen!” He groans, his head dropping forward as she steps away.
She chuckles and walks over to the door, opening it enough for her to step through. Justin smiles down at her, lifting a brow at her flushed look. She winks back. “Give him a few minutes to calm down before you go in to untie him. It’ll give me the chance to get away before he can make good on any threats.”
Justin grins knowingly. “I bet he threatened you. I’m envious. If I had known you could dance like that years ago, I’d have tried harder.”
“I bet you and half of the town would’ve. Good thing I’m not a girl that likes to be shared.” She slaps his arm and walks into the darkened hallway.
Justin finally pokes his head in the door, glancing around the room as Goliath and David walk up. He sees Owen sitting quietly, his head down and eyes closed. “Looks safe enough.”“The quiet before the storm.” Goliath walks in behind Justin, eyeing Owen warily.
“You have no idea.” Owen finally raises his head as they begin to untie his legs. He opens his eyes and stares at Justin, magic dancing in his eyes. “Get me out of here.” He growls menacingly.
Justin’s mouth drops, quickly finishing the first rope. “Um, you ok?”
“No.” Owen’s fingers flex and the wood beneath them groan.
David moves Justin away from Owen, not liking the way he is eyeing the other man. “Can you make it to the car ok?”
Owen fights to look away from Justin. “Maybe.” He closes his eyes as his arms are freed. “The draught must have been stronger than I first believed.” He rubs at his wrists, jaw clenching slightly. “Add her magic running through my veins and I am feeling very volatile.”
David keeps his body between Owen and Justin as Owen finally stands. “Protective volatile?”
“Extremely.” He opens his eyes again and walks for the door.
“Justin,” David lays a gentle hand on Justin’s shoulder. “Maybe you should hang back with Goliath until we get to the car.”
“I can see that.” He waits until Goliath follows David out before following.
The car ride seems very quiet, Owen sitting with his hands clenched together and eyes closed. Justin barely shifts, uncomfortable suddenly to be near him. He nearly jumps at the sudden sound of Owen’s soft words.
“Don’t let her call me tonight.” He opens his eyes slightly, the magic still swirling inside them. “In fact, ask your Grandmother to block the rooms from any and all communication. I don’t need to hear her voice right now and have a reason to come for her.”
“She’s not going to like it.” Justin looks away from him, hoping not to provoke him.
“I know.” Owen closes his eyes and sighs softly. “It’ll be on me and I’ll take whatever wrath she unleashes.” He opens his eyes again, glancing out the window. “The last time I felt this out of control a whole town got burned down.”
“Ouch.” David chuckles. “Sounds like you need to lay off the sauce, Old Man.”
“Indeed.” He reaches into his pocket and pulls the bottle out. “I think this needs to be disposed of.”
Justin holds out his hand. “I’ll do it.” Owen’s eyes go hard as he stares at Justin. Justin sighs and rolls his eyes. “Seriously? I’m not about to do anything that would jeopardize you or Eve. If I give this to anybody, I might slip a micky to Coyote. That asshole would deserve it.”
Owen’s eyes soften and he hands the bottle over. “Just make sure if you give him any, you give him enough to put him out for a while. A small amount would only make him even more of an asshole.”
Justin chuckles and slips the bottle into his jacket. “God forbid.”
“Will you be fine on your own tonight?” Goliath watches the exchange with interest.
“Yes.” He looks out the window again, noticing they are close to Eve’s apartment. “As long as I stay in the apartment tonight, I’ll be fine.”
“I will come by first thing in the morning then to help you pack.” Goliath nods.
“If I don’t answer, come in.” The car slows and Owen glances at Goliath. “If this runs like it has in the past, I will be deeply asleep for a while.”
“Understood.” Goliath grins. “So I should, as Elisa puts it, not ‘wake the bear’?”
“Absolutely not.” Owen slightly smiles back and gets out of the car.
“I’ll walk you up.” David slides out as well.
Eve paces the floor, arms crossed over her chest. Nalyah, legs curled under her on the couch, sips at her drink daintily. “You mustn’t fret, My Queen. He is fine or Justin would’ve called you.”“But I can’t feel him!” Eve growls back, fists shaking in frustration. The door opens and Eve nearly lunges for it as Justin steps in. “Justin!”
He grabs her shoulders, keeping her from bowling him over. “Easy, Eve. What’s got your panties in a bunch?”
“My Queen cannot feel her bond mate.” Nalyah gracefully stretches her legs out and stands.
“Oh, um.” Justin lets go of Eve and steps away, not meeting her eyes. “He’s fine. We just dropped him off at your apartment.”
Nalyah narrows her eyes slightly as she steps closer to him. “You gave it to him?”
“Well, yeah!” Justin chuckles slightly. “It was fun until Eve poured magic into him.”
“Ok. I’m confused.” Eve frowns and sits down on a nearby chair. “What does my pouring magic have to do with anything? We do that all the time.”
Nalyah pats Justin’s cheek. “Your darling blood brother to be gave your bond mate a draught that makes us fae very drunk. Add your magic and he can become dangerous to other males.” She turns and smiles. “Especially if he can smell your condition.”
Justin closes his eyes, groaning. “Shit! That explains a lot. He doesn’t know he’s reacting to it though.” Justin opens his eyes and holds out his hand. “Give me your phone.”
“Why?” She her frown deepens and she scoot deeper into the chair.
“He made me promise you won’t contact him until he’s over this.” He wiggles his fingers. “Probably morning, so hand over.”
She hands him her phone, rolling her eyes. “Seriously? You think that will stop me from contacting him?”
“He also said no communication at all.” He walks over to the door again, opening it. “I have to let Grandmother know so she can ward things better.”
Eve closes her eyes, trying to keep from yelling at him. Nalyah settles down next to her, gently patting her hands. “It will be alright, My Queen. It will only be for a few hours.”
“No it won’t.” Eve sighs heavily and leans back against the couch. “Once the ceremony has started, I will be cut off from any contact until I see him on the other end of the aisle.” She lays her arm over her eyes. “I want this to be over. Why didn’t we just elope?”
“Because you wanted to make sure you had Oberon’s approval and peace between all of us.” Nalyah smiles at Eve’s shocked look. “I have been paying attention since you took my magic. You have a reason for everything you do.”
“I’m regretting it now.” Eve growls softly, watching the door open and Justin follow his grandmother back in. “You might as well do my bedroom first. I’m ready to turn in.”
Justin nods to her and they walk into the bedroom. Nalyah sighs softly, giving Eve’s hand a gentle squeeze. “Peace, My Queen. Once you have had some rest, it will be clearer to you.”
Eve lays her arm back over her eyes, biting her lip. “Whatever.”
Owen groans, the bright light streaming through the window hitting him in the face. He rolls over, burying his head in the pillow as his mind slowly wakes. Images of Eve dancing from the night before flit through his mind and his body becomes instantly awake. He groans again, softer than before as he rolls over and rips the blankets from his body. He sits up, cradling his aching head in his hands. Sounds of movement in the living room finally drift to him and he glances at the clock.“Damn it.” He mutters, realizing Goliath has already arrived to help pack. He quickly walks to the bathroom and turns on the shower, hoping the cold water will change his body’s mind about what it wants.
Goliath hears the water begins to run and a smile touches his lips. He settles down on the floor, closing his eyes and listening for Owen to come out of the shower. Several times he almost laughs, hearing Owen curse as he drops things in the shower and then kick something on his way back into the bedroom. The amount of cursing gives him an idea that the effects of the draught have worn off but given Owen the requisite hangover. When the bedroom door finally opens to reveal a disgruntled looking Owen, Goliath smiles serenely at him. “Good morning, Sleepy Head.”
Owen sneers and drops down to the floor next to him. “I am not ready for niceties yet, Goliath.”
Goliath opens several boxes of food. “Perhaps food will change your mood.”
Owen’s hand snakes out, grabbing a sausage. He glares at Goliath, daring him to comment as he stuffs it into his mouth. Goliath waits until more food joins the sausage and Owen’s shoulders relax before finally speaking again.
“What is on the agenda for today?” He hands Owen a cup of coffee.
Owen grabs the cup and chugs it down, sighing contentedly. “All that is left is the bedroom. I would ask that any personal contents you keep to yourself.”
Goliath chuckles, handing him another cup. “I do not think it would be wise of me to spread around what Eve may keep in her drawers. Not only would she make my life hellish but Elisa would geld me.” He winks at Owen. “I plan on keeping things attached to my body a bit longer.”
Owen chuckles, the rest of the tension draining from him. “Thank you, Goliath.”
“For?” Goliath begins to close the boxes, eyeing Owen from under his bangs.
“For helping me.” Owen draws his knees up, his bare feet crossed at the ankles. “David would have done so without question but he is enough in our personal lives and I would like to keep some things for just Eve and I. Justin would have but it would’ve proven to him that I couldn’t do this without his guidance.”
“Not a very good idea given that he will soon become family.” Goliath looks up, a slight smile touching his lips.
“Exactly.” Owen runs a hand through his wet hair. “And I will not ask anyone fae. That will only set us up for disaster. I would’ve been doing this myself if you had not asked.” He sighs again. “We have fought in the past but I am glad that is over now.”
Goliath smile broadens. “We have, that is true.” He sips his own cup. “But the past is the past and this is now. You are about to be wed to a woman that I believe will make you happy.” He sets his cup down. “I do this in the hope of new beginnings.”
Owen smiles softly, lifting his cup in salute. “To new beginnings.” He drinks down the last of it, grimacing. “Shall we get the rest of this apartment emptied then?”
Goliath stands, chuckling softly. “I believe we shall.”
Eve frowns at her phone as the ladies mill around her, getting the supplies needed for the ceremony. Justin glances over her shoulder, reading the text before she can close the phone. “Snoop much?”“Why are you meeting Fox at 5pm?” Justin frowns and glances at his watch. “I thought you had the whole day free.”
She sighs, rubbing at her eyes wearily. “If it’s what I think it is, I’ll be meeting up with Fox’s doctor.”
“Are you hurt or sick?” Justin’s frown deepens and he looks her over. “We can’t put this off any longer.”
“No.” She growls softly, smacking his lightly in the head. “Idiot!” She picks up her phone and slides it into her pocket. “I took a home pregnancy test last night but didn’t look at it. Fox said if it came back positive, she would make me an appointment.”
Justin laughs as he follows her to the door. “Then we’d better get you to the barn to get those vain stallions of yours ready for tomorrow.” He opens and waves her through the door. “I would hate for you to miss your appointment.”
“Let the mother-henning begin.” She grumbles as she passes him.
His laughter follows her down the hallway.
Eve leans against Thunder’s shoulder, her fingers starting to ache from all the braids she had made in his mane and tail. Justin grins, tying the last feather into his mane. “Told you it would take a awhile.”“I just hope all of this stays until tomorrow morning.” She runs her hand over the painted hand prints on Thunder’s flank.
“It will.” He lightly pats Thunder’s neck and opens the stall door. “He’s too vain to let it get messed up,” He grins at the stallion as he follows Justin out of the stall. “Aren’t you?”
Thunder arches his neck and steps away from Justin, tail swishing in annoyance. Eve laughs, following them to the practice ring. “I’ve had lots of practice riding him without a saddle. I don’t need a refresher.”
“Your dress won’t let you ride that way.” Justin picks up a surcingle that had been modified to support a small horn. “You’ll have to ride sidesaddle.” He lays it across Thunder’s back and tightens it up. “Plus, I need him to hear the bells.”
“Bells?” Eve looks up as she hears bells lightly chiming in time to hoof falls. Warrior steps into the ring, his mane and tail covered in bells. “Oh! Wow!”
Justin straps on leather strips with bells on them around each of Thunder’s legs. He looks up, smiling as he cups his hands together. “Time to get up.”
Frowning, she lets him give her a boost up and help her get her leg draped over the horn. “This will take some getting used to.” She grumbles as Thunder starts to walk.
“That’s why we are doing this today so you don’t fall off tomorrow.” Justin laughs as he swings up onto Warrior’s back. “Boys, lets show her what you are going to do tomorrow.”
Warrior arches his neck and starts prancing in place, the bells chiming to his every move. Eve grins, tears starting gather in her eyes as she sees him execute hard steps and lifts to make the bells chime to a certain rhythm.
