Hopefully it's not been too long between updates; I had the choice to make this into a HEAVY chapter or two medium sized ones, I chose the later and next comes the finale. As Leo da Vinci said, art is never finished, just abandoned, thanks a lot everyone for pointing out flaws on my old style, really helps me improve.
Halfway thru his mad dash, it suddenly hit Ben that was supposed to be a date and he froze in place, turning around to find Gwen calmly walking behind him. He nervously scratched the back of his head, wondering whether or not to apologize for leaving her behind, but a bright smile from her reassured him she held no grudge whatsoever. She was also the one to casually hold on his hand as they walked side by side, and he hastily intertwined his fingers with hers; the whole couple thing was still alien for him, but he certainly was eager to learn, and after a short walk, they made their way to another door whose panel read “arcade”.
Once they slid their cards, the metallic door opened and a very Vegas-like sound welcomed them as the place was lit to life; little by little and from start to end in a doubtlessly deliberate fashion, rows of cold lights sparked to life as they revealed an arcade that would make any mall jealous: several lines of gaming machines over a rough carpeted floor, a surrounding speaker system plugged into a jukebox that flashed brightly with neon colours, on the upper left corner a miniature version of a candy shop with chips, soda, popcorn and other yummy snacks; the weather inside was nice and fresh, doubtlessly the climate control was cooler in there to counter-act the heat all the gaming caused.
“I think… I died and went to heaven…” Ben said, almost drooling.
“Enjoy yourself!” Gwen told him as she patted him in the back and walked away.
“Wait, where are you going?”
“What do you mean where? I’ll find something to do of course!”
“But… wasn’t this a date or something? Aren’t we supposed to like… spend time together?”
“Ben, we spend most of the day together anyway, and I know I can be bothersome just like you; besides, you will miss me, and love me more when I come back!” she said with a smile, then gently placed her finger over his nose and pushed him back a little.
“Haha, you wish!” Ben replied happily as he pushed her in return; “but are you sure you want to be by yourself?”
“Yeah, I’m sure, don’t worry, I’ll catch up with you in a while” she answered, knowing full well that she needed to let him be for a while, since the place was pretty much any boy’s dream anyway; heck, even she was liking it.
Faster than the blink of an eye Ben started hopping around from game to game, unable to focus in just one, he was like a kid in a candy shop. Gwen just smiled to herself watching him enjoy the date and started to just aimlessly walk around trying a few different games, but none of them caught her attention for too long, then she saw the jukebox and decided to take a look at it
“Now let’s see, how this thing works…” crossed her head as she started messing around with it; soon enough she grasped the basics of the interface, and she started highlighting several songs from the wide selection, music from all around the globe was there; if not all of it, it was certainly pretty close. She concluded her selection and touched the “finished” button on the screen, a few seconds later the bass cry of a cello was strongly heard all across the room, followed by the weaker notes of a chore of violins.
“Ewwwww, what the hell Gwen? Orchestra music for THIS?” Ben yelled from his location; she calmly headed his way.
“If you stop and listen you will learn a lot my dear Ben, take that not only for this, but as a life lesson as well!” Gwen replied as she hugged him from behind, purposely getting his character killed.
“Hey! That was my…”
Ben’s words were abruptly interrupted by the strident accord of an electric guitar, following the original notes of Pachelbel’s Canon into an electronic rock style.
“Saying something Ben?” Gwen whispered still behind him.
“Whoa… hurray for classics!” he replied, not even minding about his character’s death anymore, he enjoyed being in Gwen’s arms after all.
“See? You tend to like or hate something the very moment you see or hear it! You need to wait a little more to get to really know it before you can issue an opinion!”
“Yeah, you got that right; I mean, when I first met you, I thought you were annoying, smug and bothersome”
“And now?”
“Now I think you’re annoying, smug and bothersome, but somewhat cute!” Ben happily replied.
“Say what!? Take that back! Now!” Gwen yelled on his ear as she held him tighter by the neck.
“Ow! Ok, ok, you’re not cute!”
“Not that you moron!” she continued to yell and started twisting his arm.
“Ouch! No playing dirty!” Ben replied as he broke free.
“Now you did it! I hereby challenge you to an air hockey duel, if I win you will have to admit that I’m cute and you like me, and will have to take back the part of “annoying, smug and bothersome””
“And if you lose you will watch the scariest movie I can find on the cinema with me without complaining”
“Eek! Do I really have to?” Gwen answered somewhat scared; horror was for sure not her favourite gender.
“Only if you lose… oh wait, you WILL lose, so yes, you have to”
“In your dreams alien head, bring it on!” Gwen replied defiant.
“Awesome, get ready to be scared to death!”
Soon enough, the duel started, and the rules were simple: neither part was allowed to use any supernatural forces to aid them, it would boil down to pure skill, yet the air hockey table was probably not Gwen’s best duelling field; sure she liked the game and was good at it, but it is Ben we’re talking about, he basically lives for arcade games, in less than one minute the first point favouring him was scored.
“Woo hoo! Mark one for the team!” he yelled triumphant.
“Enjoy it, it will be the last one” Gwen replied somewhat upset at getting such a bad start-up; she placed the puck back on the table and slammed it hard, firing it against Ben’s goal, yet a simple swipe was all it took for him to stop it.
“Rookie mistake, this is how you do it.” He replied as he slammed back the puck, hitting against one of the walls and scoring another point against a surprised Gwen who fell for the trick and guarded the wrong side.
The rest of the game went on more or less the same way, basically a beatdown for the poor Gwen, with 8-1 as the final score, and that because Ben faked a mistake to let her score at least once.
“Aaaaaawwwww, how did this happen!?” Gwen yelled, somewhat angry at her poor performance.
“Told ya, mess with the best, fail like the rest, and now I think I’m in the mood for a movie! And according to our bet, so are you!”
“But… but… that’s not fair!” Gwen mumbled, shaking a little as she started wondering about the horrific film Ben had in mind.
“I did beat you fair and square, so don’t try to weasel out of our little bet! Oh and Gwen…”
“Yes?”
“You’re cute and I like you, that’s for sure, but that doesn’t make you any less annoying, it’s just that now it’s an annoyance I can deal with!” Ben told her with a smile as he placed his hands over her shoulders.
“Ok, that does it; you’re not getting away from this!” Gwen yelled happily as she embraced and brought him down to the ground, for then gently started to kiss his lips, which by the way he did not seem to dislike at all.
“You know this won’t get you away from our bet right?” Ben whispered as he glared into her eyes.
“I know, but it doesn’t hurt to try, does it?” She answered playing with his hair.
“Sure doesn’t…” he replied happy as he took a deep breath, for then helping her back on her feet to head towards the cinema.
As they reached the identical looking metallic door, they slid each card thru the reader and the door gave way to a rather pleasant view. The movie room was much larger than they expected, spanning little more than half the size or a regular one with four rows of seats that looked way more comfortable than the ones you would find at your local cinema, a snack island just like the one at the arcade was also found here, so they wouldn’t starve as they watched the movie. The walls, like pretty much everything else were painted pitch black, doubtlessly to keep light to a minimum when the show started, the big theatre style curtain being the only contrasting element, sporting a vivid red colour, reminiscent of old time cinemas.
“Ok Ben, do your worst! I’m not scared!” Gwen said defiant.
“Let’s see if you can say that after one hour” Ben answered as he started looking for a way to get the cinema started up.
Soon enough, he stumbled upon a touch screen for movie selection that, just like the jukebox, had quite the variety to choose from; he was somewhat unsure about what could be best to scare Gwen to death and just started browsing at random horror movies; “too weak, too boring, too lame” he mumbled after passing a couple dozen titles, then one of them caught his attention: “alone in the end” was the title, and sounded quite promising indeed.
“Ok Gwen, get ready!” he said confident as he took his seat right beside her.
“Yeah, yeah, give it your best shot” she answered pretending she did not care as she reached out for some popcorn; truth to be told thought, she was somewhat freaked out about just what Ben might have selected, both would find out soon.
As the movie started the room got completely dark, completely meaning that once the main illumination went off, the tiny LED lights that helped marking the route to the exit and snack island were dimly visible sparks, and other than those, not a single beam of light other than the giant projection screen could be seen; the air conditioning was also working quite well here, so the air was quite chilling, indeed the perfect conditions for a horror movie.
“Eek!” Gwen yelped as she felt a small pressure on her shoulder.
“Gwen, what the hell, the movie hasn’t even started! I just wanted some popcorn!” Ben said quite amused at his cousin’s reaction as he slightly poked her shoulder to get her attention.
“Huh? Oh yeah, popcorn, here, help yourself…” she replied slightly shuddering.
“And try not to piss your pants on the first scary scene” Ben said with a laugh.
“What, the shaking?? I’m not scared! It’s just… the weather here is a little too cold, that’s all”
“And… care to fix that?” he replied as he gently embraced her after removing the bar amidst their seats; they were pretty roomy so they could cuddle just fine.
“It’s not that cold… but thank you” said Gwen as she blushed and got comfortable in his arms, still not believing she was cuddling with the Ben she would have happily hit in the head with a baseball bat three days ago.
Little after their small lovers’ quarrel the movie began, and truth to be told it certainly looked like a pretty scary film: the opening screen protrayed a shady, dead field with an abandoned mill on a corner and a couple of dried-up trees whose branches seemed like claws ready to catch an unwary prey.
After a little thrill the scenery totally changed to a lazy afternoon on a farm house to introduce the protagonist, a young man on his late twenties and who seemed pretty interested in a girl about his age, who lived in a house nearby.
“Awesome, the scaredy girl who screams always gets eaten up by zombies first!” said Ben as he munched on some popcorn.
Gwen, on the other hand, was actually enjoying the experience and, after logically assessing it was just a movie and there was no reason to be scared, decided to just enjoy that part of the date as well and thus got comfortable and relaxed; the movie kept rolling with the introductions and a little plot, the day also kept advancing and a full moon was soon visible in the starless dark sky of the night…
Not too long after that a bright lightning bolt followed by a deafening thunder was felt all across the cinema, making Gwen yelp a little as she tightly held on Ben’s arm; it certainly was designed for the spectators to feel like they were inside the movie
“What’s the matter princess? The good stuff hasn’t even started!” Ben replied happy to see the effects.
The movie went on with Gwen tightly holding on her cousin’s arms, which by the way did not bother any of them at all, it seemed like the date was working out pretty fine after all, and after some zombie chasing the climax scene was at hand, the protagonist and the girl tightly locked themselves up inside the mill to attempt and survive the onslaught, barricading the door with anything they could find, the only window was at least 50 feet up them so they thought it should suffice.
“I think we’re safe honey… I mean…”
“Yeah, I think we’re safe for now” said the girl, cutting down his words.
“In case we die, there’s something I need to tell you! I… I…”
“I love you, just like you love me” she replied in a soft voice as she gently kissed his lips.
“So you knew it all along?”
“No, I just found out how protective you were of me, how you cared about keeping me safe, if we make it out of this alive…”
“Yeah, I wish the time and place for this confession were different…”
“Here you are, here I am, for me that’s more than perfect”
“Aw! How lovely!” said Gwen almost crying.
“And now the zombies break in and eat them” Ben replied munching on some popcorn, yet none of them could predict what the next scene was about.
“If we don’t make it out of this alive, I don’t want to part this world with any regrets! I don’t care where we are or what is our situation, I want to be yours!” said the girl in a passionate voice as she started undressing.
“Are you saying…”
His words were cut with a passionate kiss as the girl strongly braced him, making both of them fall into a stack of hay as they desperately sought for each other’s caresses, almost ripping their clothes off to get them out of the way. It wasn’t long before they were both down to their underwear, which on a side note was way too modern considering the time context of the movie.
The guy started kissing his way between the girl’s legs as she heavily moaned, inviting him to continue, her panties were soon tossed to a side, fully exposing a clean, shaved and pretty good looking cunt, already wet from excitement, it was probably the first one both cousins had ever seen, except maybe Gwen looking at her own; back on the action the protagonist gave it a nice, slow licking, making his partner moan in pleasure as she gently caressed his hair, showing that she was liking it, she placed her legs over his shoulders as he started giving her a cunninlingus; a very good one judging from both her panting and her fluids dripping slightly around his partner’s lips.
“Ben… just what the hell did you pick…” Gwen asked in shock.
“I don’t know… should I… turn it off maybe?” he replied just as astonished as his cousin was.
“Yeah… it would be best”
