Wade sat before his lab bench watching an encased sample of the new nanomaterial he’d discovered as it levitated inside said cell, clamped to said bench.

‘Hmmm.’ He picked up a scanner lead… that ran into the 5x5” test cell and plugged it into his computer. ‘It looks like it’s got an adaptive matrix… one designed to work with its environment. It’ll grow only so much… hmmm.’

There was a hum as the scanner ran…

“Pop!” the scanner flashed him and the nanocrystal. The lights went out inside his lab… then rose. Data cascaded into his computer…

‘Great!’ he looked at his watch. ‘GOD! Gonna be late!’ he flooded the sample case with argon… disconnected the leads… popped the clamps that held it to the bench…

Ran with the case in hand to decontam… popped out… and stood red-handed before Anne…

Who was dressed to kill… Prada LBD, silky hose… 4” heels. Vamp Smile.

“Heh. Uh Sorry.” he grinned. ‘YOW! GODTHANKYOU!’ “Just gotta shower… be ready in a sec.”

“MmmHm.” She purred as she closed the distance and nipped his throat. “Hungry.” Rumbled out as a deep earthy purr. “For YOU.”

“Uhhuh.”

He absentmindedly set the case on a table, and vanished while she engaged in lusty fantasies…

15 minutes later…

He reappeared, dressed in navy Armani.

They hurried out.

A Emerald wraith slipped into the condo…

The case was missing.
