Chapter 8- Love.

Monday.

"I don't get it." Said Lill. "I know that Tommy took your coming out quite badly, but why is he reacting like this?"

Kimi and Suzy exchanged a glance, which just made Lill angry. She had been so open with them, telling the to of them things that she didn't even dare put in her diary and here they were still keeping secrets.
"What? What do you know?"

Suzy kept her mouth shut. She didn't know how Lill would handle this news, but kimi on the other hand thought that the time had come to tell her. Lill had been so open and trusting, it was an insult not to show the same level of trust.
"Lill, before I came out. Not long before I came out. I wasn't even sure if I was gay or not. I did know, but I didn't want to know. I wanted to be straight, because I was too afraid. I was so desperate to prove I was straight, I did what I thought was the only thing I could do." Kimi fell silent under Lills gaze as Kimi could see the girl was beginning to figure it out. "In my pitiful defence," Kimi continued. "I was desperate and not in my right mind."
"You had sex with Tommy?" Lill said quietly.

Kimi looked down at the table, unable to meet the gaze of her friend. Suzy put a hand onto her shoulder and Kimi almost gasped as her heart began to race. But she got herself under control, this was not the time.

They were at school, sitting outside during lunch hour. Talking over Tommy's message.
"We have to find Tommy before he can tell anyone." Piped up Lill. They had all chosen not to involve the boys in this, it was too uncertain where their loyalties would lie.
"Easier said than done." Said Suzy. "He's one person in a school of over a thousand pupils. He could be anywhere."
"Not really." Interrupted Kimi. Lill and Suzy looked at her whith a what-do-you-know-that-we-don't look. "If you think of Angelica, all she would have to do if go to just three of her friends in the morning, who are the most popular girls in school. The news would be everywhere by the end of the day. But Tommy isn't part of the popular kids, they won't even talk to him. If Tommy told anyone, the news would spread slowly, taking days or weeks, or even dying out before everyone gets to hear it. With all that in mind, his options for telling everyone are quite limited. Also baring I mind that he's angry and when people are angry they get impulsive, not thinking things through properly-"
"Just get to the point." Snapped Lill impatiantly. "You can give the lecture when we aren't against the clock."

Kimi fell silent, looking upset, but nodded in understanding.
"He would need a large crowd and at this time of day, the cafertiria is quite packed."

They got to their feet and moved off quickly, not at a run, but quicker than a walk.

Tommy stalked down the corridor, looking like a Lion on the prowl. The caferteria was the best place, at this time of day it would be packed. While kimi was racing all over the school trying to find him, her secret would be out. Nothing she could say would stop him.
"TTTOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!" Screamed a voice.

Before he knew what was happening a brown, haired blur tackled him like an American football player. Tommy was thrown from his feet and flew bacwards hitting the floor backside frst.

Lill was sitting on his chest, pinning him to the floor. Suzy and Kimi were catching them up. Just the sight of Kimi got him angry.
"GET OFF ME." He shouted. Trying hard to push Lill away.
"Tommy, please, think about what your doing." Suzy said to him, but Tommy was clearly not in the mood to listen.
"I SAID GET OFF ME." He yelled.

Kimi cast a worried glance at the caferteria door not too far behind them. Tommy's yelling would atrract attention if it carried on much longer.
"Let him up." She said. Suzy and Lill looked at her aprehensively. But Lill jumped from Tommy's Chest.

The second Tommy was on his feet, he set off toward the caferteria once more. Suzy and Lill grabbed his arms and forced him to a stop. He growled angrily and struggled, but made no noise.

Kimi looked at his, fighting back the tears. How could such a sweet caring person turn into the angry thing she saw today? It was her fault, all of it.
"Let him go." She demanded.

That stopped everyone. Lill and Suzy let go of him, but Tommy was too shocked to take advantage of the sudden freedom.
"Kimi, are you nuts? Do you know what he'll do if he goes in there?" Suzy asked, pointing to the cafertiria door. Kimi looked at the door, to Tommy and then to Suzy.
"I do. Let him go."

Tommy smiled smugly and walked onward. Kimi put a hand on his shoulder and looked at him with tears in her eyes. He hesitated for a moment, his anger was still burning, but he felt it being doused by concern for his friend.
"Tommy, I never mean't to hurt you. You're like a brother to me and I love you more than you can ever imagine. If you think that this is the only thing you can do to end your pain…then go, and be satisfied."

Tommy shrugged off her grip and stormed through the door. After only a second of hesitation Kimi followed.

Tommy walked to the middle of the room and climbed onto a table. The loud talk of students began to die down and people stared at him.
"Everyone. May I have your attention please." He called loudly. The room went quiet and Tommy began to blush, but it didn't put him off.
"My name is Tommy, A few of you might know me. That's not important. I'm sure you all know who Kimi Finster is."

Kimi noticed the nods. Kimi and her pretend boyfriend Matthew, had made a big entrance to their pretend relationship. They had been caught in the crawlspace under the stage in the audotorium. The news of their getting together had spread like wildfire. Kimi's name was known throughout the school.
"There is something you should know about her." Called Tommy, turning himself slowly to make sure everyone could see his face. "Kimi Finster is..."

Tommy turned and caught sight of Kimi. She was pale and trembling with silent tears falling downn her face. Tommy sighed and shook his head gently.
"Kimi Finster is...going to be in the starring role in my new movie. Dentention 3, Rise of the Hall Monitors. There are other positions still available and I'll put a list on the student notice board later this week. Thatnk you for your time."

He jumped down from the table and walked toward Kimi. Around them students were sniggering and muttering about how overdramatic Tommy had been but Kimi didn't care. She was just too relieved that Tommy hadn't told anyone.

Tommy stopped in front of Kimi and stared at her.
"This doesn't make us ok. Not by a long shot. But it's a start."

Kimi didn't care she was just so relieved that she jumped forward and wrapped her arms tightly around him.
"Thank you." She whispered into his ear.
