Disclaimer: I do not own Gargoyles/Disney related but the original character, Eve Anderson, is from my own mind and is not a character of Disney. I get no pay and am only doing this for fun |
Having slept most of the day, Eve found she was not able to rest as the evening wore on. Owen took her to the solarium so she could see more than the bed for a while as he ran for clothes at her apartment. She strokes the arm of the wicker bench he had bought for her, a slight smile toughing her lips.
Her phone vibrates, breaking into her thoughts of the comforts Owen is bestowing on her, and she groans. Picking it up, she frowns as she sees the name. “What’s up, Justin?”
‘Trying to get your hay mowed and baled, that’s what.’ he chuckles. ‘Actually I figured I needed to check in and see how you’re doing.’
“I’m not bad, just not feeling well today.” She smiles, knowing he’s worried about her still. “I think I’m getting a little nervous.”
‘This is only a ceremony. The real thing you should’ve been nervous about has already happened.’ He snorts.
“I wouldn’t say that. We still don’t know how far this sudden magic will take me or where.” She sighs softly. “I’m so afraid that it might turn me evil.”
‘It can’t turn you any more evil then you already are.’ He laughs. ‘Besides, I wouldn’t let you do that. I love you too much for that.’
“I love you too, Justin.” Her smile returns. “You’ve always been there for me through everything.”
Angela sees Owen leaning against a tree, his eyes riveted on Eve. Worried, she stalks up quietly and gently touches his shoulder. “What’s going on?”He barely looks at her, touching his finger to his lips. “Shh…”
Eve curls her legs up under her. “I never really thought about it but you were always like the brother I never had.” Her voice goes slightly quieter. “When dad died, you kept me from doing some of the stupidest things in the world. You made me face the pain not run away.”‘Sweetheart, you are family. Blood doesn’t matter.’ His voice goes quiet too.
“And you are a brat for keeping that ring from me for so long!” She laughs. “I thought when it disappeared from the store I would never see it again.”
‘He finally give it to you?’ Justin chuckles again.
“Yeah, last night. I was so surprised.” She grins. “Thank you for giving it to him.”
‘You’re welcome.’ She can hear the smile in his voice. ‘I’m glad you like it.’
“I do.” She yawns. “I can’t believe I am so tired after I’ve slept all day!”
‘Then I will let you go so you can sleep.’ He laughs. ‘You need all the rest you can get before the big day.’
“Gah! Don’t remind me!” She laughs too. “Goodnight, Justin. “
Angela lifts a brow, seeing the pleased expression on Owen’s face. “Did you hear what you wanted to hear?”“Yes, I did.” He smirks at her. “I was trying to decide who would be the person to walk her down the aisle. He’s family. I think he will be perfect for the job.”
Angela grins back as Owen walks away.
Eve groans as the alarm clock goes off announcing 5:30 am. She rolls over, reaching out with one arm to prod Owen into turning the damned thing off. When she doesn’t feel him in the bed with her, her eyes spring open and search the darkened room for him. She sees a light barely glowing under the bedroom door and sighs as she pushes the off button on the alarm.
Realizing he has probably been awake for hours, she pads to the bathroom and turns on the shower. As soon as steam starts rising from behind the curtain, she steps in and lets the heat of the water ease her aching muscles. She had never thought that lying around relaxing for two days would cause her muscles to be sore but the tightness in her body tells her otherwise. She leans her head forward, letting the water sluice down her back.
She doesn’t hear the bathroom door open, or Owen step into the shower behind her. His arms snake around her, surprising her enough to cause her to squeal in fright. He laughs, holding her close as her heart rate begins to slow again.
“Brat!” She smacks at his hands.
He softly kisses her neck. “Did you think I would ignore the fact that you are awake and in my shower?”
“Maybe.” She sighs, melting into his arms. “I figured you had already showered, dressed and had breakfast.”
“And miss the chance to touch you?” He nips her ear. “I think not!”
“So why didn’t you just stay in bed?” She chuckles, turning her head enough to nip back.
He leans into her more, letting her feel how hard he already is. “I didn’t want to wake you yet. Seeing you asleep sprawled across my bed made me want to see what I could do to wake you slowly.”
“Yeah, that might not have been a good idea as much as you probably wanted to wake me.” Her eyes flutter closed as his hands start to stroke her breasts. “A girl has to sleep sometime.”
His cheek rubs along her neck as he trails wet kisses over her skin. “You slept all weekend.”
She laughs, hips pressing back against him. “So how do you plan on keeping me awake?”
One hand snakes around her leg, lifting it and settling it on the rim of the tub. “Like this.” He slides his hard length inside her, holding her close so she can’t move away.
She gasps, loving the feel of him thrusting deep inside her. “We don’t have time for you to play.”
He pinches her nipples, nearly groaning when she tightens even more around him. “We have enough time. Neither of us have to be anywhere until 8.”
Her mind begins to swim, her hands reaching out for the wall to keep from losing herself. Her whimpers echo through the room, magic jumping along her skin as he takes her harder. His hands slide over her shoulders and down her back, sending the magic dancing like little fingers all over. She cries out, her body tightening even further and becoming hypersensitive to every touch.
“Yes, Kitten.” He purrs to her. “Cum for me.”
The sound of his voice shatters her control, her muscles spasm around him as he thrusts even harder. She leans her head back against his chest, gasping. “Please!”
He feels her need double through the bond. He pulls away from her, turning her around in his arms and pushing her back against the wall, so he can see her better. Her legs wrap around his waist as he thrusts back into her, his lips covering hers with urgent kisses. Her fingers thread through his hair, holding him in place as she deepens the kiss. Her free hand trails down his back, causing him to growl low every time her nails dig into flesh. His arms tighten on her, a low moan escaping his lips as he thrusts one last time. She smiles, feeling his release even through their bond.
A trilling cry breaks through the sound of running water and Owen’s head leans against hers, a aggravated groan escaping him. “He’s in here, isn’t he?”
Eve looks over his shoulder to see Samuel watching her from a small part in the shower curtain. “I would say we definitely have an audience.”
His shoulders slump at the sound of amusement in her voice. He slowly lowers her feet back to earth. “That cat is a nuisance. I lock and ward the doors but he still gets through.”
She laughs softly, grabbing the shampoo and rubbing it vigorously in her hands before using it on his hair. “Yeah he’s good at that. You’ll get used to it eventually.”
“You have too many men in your life.” He closes his eyes as she pulls him under the water to rinse. “I don’t share well with that many men.”
She laughs even more. “Too many men! How do you figure that?”
“Samuel, Warrior, Thunder, Justin” He opens one eye to see her staring at him in shock. “Did you not think that I would have to share you with them?”
“Animals? Seriously?” She rolls her eyes. “They don’t count!”
He spins her around, lathering her hair. “They do count. The horses are Fae bred, which means they think just like a human does if not better.” He glances down at the cat, who is still staring at them. “As for Samuel, he thinks you are his and we have been fighting over you ever since.”
“Well I think you can be assured that I am not leaving you for a cat.” She turns enough to give him a quick kiss. “I’m not into bestiality.” She gazes at him hungrily for a moment before turning away. “Unless, of course, you are the one behaving like a beast.”
He growls low in her ear, gently nipping at her neck. “One of these days I will show you how much of a beast I can be.”
She laughs, letting him finish soaping her before stepping under the water.
Allanna looks up from her computer, grinning as Eve comes through the office doors. “Someone looks very satisfied this morning. You must be feeling better.
Eve blushes slightly as she picks up her stack of messages. “I’m feeling much better. I keep having to remind myself that as I get older alcohol and I don’t get along as well as we used to.” She sighs as she sees the message about her dress fitting.
Allanna winks at her. “Don’t worry. The dress will be perfect I am sure.” She hands Eve another note. “Mrs. Xanatos has requested you come see her when you come in. I think she plans on going with you to the fitting.”
“Thank god!” Eve’s shoulders sag in relief. “I don’t think I could put up with Becky’s ramblings on my own.”
Allanna laughs, turning back to her computer. “One of those, eh?”
“Absolutely one of those!” Eve smiles and turns back towards the door. “I’ll go see Fox and hope this gets over with quickly before I feel like shooting my dressmaker.”
“Good luck with that!” Allanna calls to her, grinning from ear to ear.
Owen makes sure no one is near his office before closing the door. Sure that he will not be over heard, he dials a number and places it on speaker phone so David can hear. David frowns, not sure why the secrecy.
“Hello?” Justin’s voice finally comes over the speaker.
“Justin, it has been a few weeks and I thought I might check in on how everything is at the farm.” Owen leans back in his chair, the nagging feeling something is wrong burrowing into him.
“Owen, I hadn’t thought to hear from you so soon.” Justin’s voice seems puzzled. “Things are well enough considering.”
“Well enough?” Owen’s frown deepens. “Explain.”
“Well, Nalyah is finally settling down.” Justin chuckles softly. “She’s reading any book I put in front of her. She keeps saying she has a lot of catching up to do.” He sighs. “My family is rallying around her to try to help her fit in. She gets very frustrated but is coming along now.”
“Good.” Owen relaxes just a hair. “Just remember in many ways she is just a child. Dryads don’t stray far from their trees so there is much about the world around them and life in general that they still have yet to learn.”
“Yeah I kinda noticed that.” Justin’s voice turns wistful. “She tries so hard to be stoic when she thinks I’m looking but when she thinks I’m not, I see her behave like a 2 yr old. When she’s frustrated it’s temper tantrums. But when she figures something out, she glows.”
Owen lifts a brow. “You sound as if she has charmed you. Be wary of her wiles.”
“She’s already tried that and it’s not worked yet.” Justin laughs. “I just like seeing the child like wonder on her face when she learns something new. I forgot how good it feels helping someone learn.”
“I am glad it is working out.” Owen barely smiles.
“I am glad you called.” Justin’s voice turns serious. “I keep thinking I should call Eve but I really don’t want her getting upset and rushing down here.”
David leans forward, concern showing on his face. Owen sits up straighter. “What’s going on?”
“Mr. Getties, I’m afraid.” Justin sighs again, frustrated this time. “As soon as Eve left town he started pressuring the farmers that live around her to sell their property to him. So far no one has.”
“How many farms?” Owen nearly grinds his teeth in anger.
“Twelve in all and every single one of them were good friends with Eve’s family.” Justin’s voice lowers in anger. “Now he’s threatening to shut down any shops that sell goods to those farmers and me. He’s trying to get us under his thumb so we have no choice. All work at getting the first cutting of hay in has stopped because no one will help me bale. They can’t afford to have Getties take their property away and I can’t really blame them.”
“I see.” Owen sees David pick up his phone and start making calls. “Are any of the farms currently for sale?”
“Maybe if the right person came along. Why?” Justin’s voice shows his confusion.
“I think it’s time for Mr. Getties to realize there is now a bigger player in town.” David grins and shows him a pad saying ‘We’re leaving within the hour’. “I will be there soon. Until then, do you have enough family to help you with the hay? I wouldn’t want it to go to ruin.”
“I do but many of them are out looking for jobs so they don’t have much time.” Justin’s voice shows relief.
“Tell them I they have a job for the time being. I will pay them well to help you finish the hay and any other jobs you may need for the time being. just write down the times they worked, what they did, and their names so I may make checks out to each of them.”
“Perfect!” Justin laughs. “I will do it as soon as I get off the phone.”
“Then I will leave you to it.” Owen’s smile turns malicious. “I will be there as soon as possible to take care of Mr. Getties. We’ll fly in as soon as a plan can be approved.”
“Let me know when you get to the airport and I’ll pick you up.” Justin sobers. “And thanks. “
“No need to thank me, Justin. I am looking after my mate’s interests.” Owen chuckles softly. “Besides, you need to get out of that habit before you end up indebted to one of us.”
“Good point. I will see you soon.”
“Until then.” Owen hangs up and sees David frowning.
“So the bastard thought he could back door her?” David slides his phone back into his pocket.
“It would seem so.” Owen lifts a brow. “I assume you have already begun arrangements?”
David grins. “Of course I have! I’ve also already asked my realtor to call and buy any adjacent property so Getties can’t. I’ve even considered buying up most of the town and letting them free lease the buildings from me for the next 20 yrs just to piss him off.”
“I have had the same thoughts.” Owen grins again.
David looks at his phone. “Flight plane has been approved. We can take off as soon as we get packed.”
“I will text Eve and tell her we have an unexpected trip. No need to worry her until we have the situation in hand.”
“Agreed.” David stands, rubbing his hands together gleefully. “I think I’m going to enjoy this little trip.”
