LIncoln walked into his "room" which was once the garage. He turned on the light and headed to the closet he wished he'd had gotten to Lola before Lynn had ambushed him. He could feel the sweat from their wrestling match drying on his skin he just hoped his deoderant and body spray was enough to cover the smell. Lincoln opened the closet spotting the article of clothing he'd need. It was his Ace Savvy cape it would be perfect for this. He grabbed it gently sliding it over his shoulder before looking around behind him.
His sisters sometimes had a bad habit of sneaking into his room when he wasn't around. You'd think it would be the younger ones he found her most often, and you'd be wrong. More often than not it was Lori, Leni, Luna, or Luan he'd find here. He was sure Luan was there trying to pranke him, but the other three were a mystery. He shrugged finding the room empty he reached up into the top of his closet pulling down a shoebox and opening it he found a his trump card to make Lola's tea party the best she'd ever had.
In it was a plastic bag with a baker's dozen of cookies, but these weren't store bought Lincoln had spent weeks preparing these babies. They were Lincoln Loud's Triple Chocolate Cookies. His sisters were some of the meanest chocoholics on the planet so keeping these babie's hidden was like trying to hide crack from a drug dog. He stashed the cookies in his cape as he headed from his room to the house. He made his way into the kitchen making sure teh bottom layer of the house was sister free. Thankfuly it was. He snuck into the kitchen dumping the cookies from the bag arranging them on a plate and set them in the microwave to warm them up as he tied his cape. Lincoln stopped the microwave before the timer went off and snatched the plate hiding it behind his back as he made his way to Lola's room before the smell of chocolate called down a vicious mauling by his sisters. He made sure to snag a cookie for himself plus each of his other sisters leaving only eight for Lola and himself to enjoy.
Even an older brother like himself would be overwhelmed by ten little sisters. He knocked on Lola's door hearing some movement Lola answered. Since she'd ancwered it himself he could only guess that Lana was either still outside or in the shower. "Yes?" Lola asked looking at the odd get up her older brother was wearing.. Lincoln coughed getting into character. "Yes I am Lincoln Loud King of the garage and cordially request tea with the lovely princess Lola Loud!" He said extravagantly. Lola's eyes nearly popped from her skull as they widened a smile splitting across her face as she shrieked with glee. "Give me one moment good sir!" She said slamming the door.
Lincoln could hear what sounded like a tornado going off in the room before the door was thrown open once again. "Please good sir come in, come in." Lola said waving her hand to her room Lincoln kneeled down kissing Lola's proffered hand as he walked inside not notcing his little sister's intense blush as she strutted back to the table. Lincoln looked at the small table they'd be sitting at and inwardly sighed. At times like this he wished he could alter his size as he sat at the table his knees drawn up to his chin. "I know this is on short notice my princess and rest assured i don't come empty handed." He said presenting the cookie platter from behind his back and setting it on the table watching as the chocolate confections did their work. Lola snatched one engulfing the whole thing befor hiding her chewing behind a napkin.
Lincoln smiled watching his sister contort in glee as she devoured his cookie. "All is forgiven King so tell me what shall we discuss?" Lola asked snagging another cookie. Lincoln enjoyed talking to Lola even though she could be a bit scary with all the dirt she had on them she really was a sweet if spoiled girl. He smiled as the door opened with Lana walking in a towel wrapped around her body and dragging the floor. "Man all that mud gone to was-!" Lana stopped as she saw Lincoln sitting there. Her face flushed red as she ran into the closet. Lincoln took this as his moment ot leave. "I see you have another meeting to attend princess I will take my leave." Lola frowned. "you don't have to go it's not that important." She said glaring at the closet.
Lincoln shook his head. "You can't go neglecting your subjects my lady and I do have another engagement to attend as well. I have a meeting with a certain Duchess." Once more Lincoln kissed Lola's hand before leaving the room and heading to Lynn and Lucy's. He knocked on the door. "Come on in." Lynn answered. Lincoln walked in immediately greeted by laughter as Lynn saw him in his cape. "What's the deal bro you going to be king of the nerds or something?!" Lincoln rolled his eyes. "yeah well this nerd pinned you remember? Have you seen Lucy?" He asked not noticing the goth in the room. Lynn pouted at his rebuttal, but answered. "No I haven't check the basement or something." Lincoln nodded before tossing one of his cookies at her. She caught it expertly and once she realized what it was devoured it licking her fingers for whatever chocolate remnants remained.
Shaking his head Lincoln left visiting each of his sisters to see if they'd seen Lucy and to give them a cookie. He stood outside Luna and Luan's room after nearly being kissed to death by Leni after giving her a cookie. He shook his head trying to wipe off the remains of her lip gloss as he knocked on the two entertainers door. Luan opened the door and as she opened her mouth to no doubt crack off a pun he put a cookie in it. Luan's eyes widened then slowly drooped as the chocolate worked it's magic. "Gee Linc if you wanted to shove something in my mouth all you had to do was ask." She said swallowing and laughing.
Lincoln blushed walking past her spotting Luna on the beanbag strumming her guitar listlessly. He sighed walking up and sitting beside her. "Sorry about today Luna I shouldn't have blown up like that." He said. Luna didn't say anything not because she didn't want to, but because she couldn't believe he'd apologized first. Lincoln was in the right she felt getting mad Luna had acted childishly. Lincoln nodded expecting her to still be mad he sat the cookie on her leg before standing up. Luna grabbed his hand. "I'm sorry too bro I let you down I shouldn't have acted so selfishly."
Lincoln ruffled Luna's short hair. "Don't worry about it, oh and have either of you seen Lucy? Lynn said to check the basement." Both brown haired Louds thought about it. "I think I heard her sighing in the vents earlier, but other than that I don't know." Luan said. Lincoln nodded walking out of the room and downstairs he was walking into the kitchen to get to the basement, but he walked in spotting Lucy sitting at the dining table with a deck of Tarot cards. "Hey Luce what's up?" Lucy looked up as she shuffled the cards. "Sigh nothing I was going to read Cliff's Tarot, but he left." Lincoln nodded as he sat down. "Well why not read mine?" He asked. Lucy looked at him from behind her bangs and then nodded. "Very well." She said shuffling the deck and then spread them out before Lincoln. "Draw three cards." Lucy's monotone rang out in the kitchen, and for some reason it sounded to Lincoln as if her words had an echo. Shaking that off her picked three cards one on the farthest left one from the middle and one on the farthest right.
The first card was the Page of Pentacles, the second was Judgement, and the final was the Lovers. Lincoln looked over each one and then at Lucy. Lucy sighed not just saying the word sigh, but an actual sigh. "The Page of Pentacles says you will be betrayed soon. Judgement says you will be move into a new phase of life, and the Lovers well it's obvious there you will have much love." Lincoln smiled as he shrugged. He didn't really believe in all this, not after the whole camping trip debacle. but he could tell Lucy was happy he'd let her do this. "Gee thanks Lucy I'm glad I got a heads up about the future." He said stroking her hair as he pulled a cookie out from behind her ear. Sure he wasn't as good as Luan with magic, but he knew enough to pull off simple tricks like this.
As he was watching Lucy eat there was a knock at the door. Lincoln got up and headed to the front entrance pulling the door open he was greeted by Clyde he was wearing a black and blue striped jacket and some black jeans stuffed into the tops of his boots. Lincoln had been inside most of the day so he hadn't noticed how cold it had gotten out and the wind was practically howling through the neighborhood. "Oh Clyde!" Lincoln looked at the clock and groaned. He thought he'd be ahead of schedule, but turns out he wasn't. "Sorry Clyde I was with my sisters-."
"Lincoln." Clyde spoke.
"and lost track of time, but don't worry buddy if we don't fast forward the previews-"
"Lincoln!" Clyde said louder trying to get his friend's attention once again.
"they should be ready by the time the movie starts."
"LINCOLN!" Clyde shouted. Lincoln looked at Clyde shocked. "Geez Clyde I know you're excited but no need to shout I'm right her buddy." Clyde shook his head. "I can't stay and watc the movie with you." Lincoln smirked. "Ok Clyde nice joke even if it was in poor taste." Clyde sighed. "No I'm serious buddy I can't stay I signed up for an couple extra courses at the beginning of summer, but the all the seats were full so I didn't think much of it, but turns out a few students dropped out and well lucky me I got in."
Lincoln looked at Clyde shell shocked the only thing he could hear was. "The Page of Pentacles represents betrayal." In Lucy's monotone. "But Clyde we've been planning this for weeks!" Clyde looked down he felt terrible about this, but he couldn't pass these classes up they'd give him the headstart he'd need. "This was our last chance to hang together bro." Lincoln pleaded. "I know man and I wish I could, but these classes are important Lincoln. You understand right?" Clyde looked up from behind his glasses. Lincoln knew what he was really asking. Did he want him to stay even though he knew what that would mean. Lincoln sighed. "Yeah I-I understand Clyde. You gotta do what you gotta do."
Clyde smiled sadly as he fished something out of his jacket pocket. "Here man you should watch it even if I can't." He said handing Lincoln the Ace Savvy movie still with it's plastic on. Lincoln felt like crying instead he hugged his best friend goodbye. "Get out there and shrink some heads!" Lincoln told his friend who nodded. "And you knock 'em dead at art school!" Clyde said as he walked out to his car starting it up and driving off towards his future. Lincoln stood there letting the wind buffet against him before he forced the door closed. He felt hollow inside as he looked at the movie case tossing it onto the coffe table.
Lincoln lay face down on the couch groaning. "There it goes my best friend murdered our best night ever." He groaned into the couch. He rolled over staring at the ceiling as memories of their freindship rolled through his head. The time they turned themselves orange with gelatin, the halloween when they'd snuck into that gated community for the good candy, and most importantly when Clyde had helped him get over Ronnie Anne leaving. He sighed closing his eyes.
Unbeknownst to Lincoln Lori had saw the whole thing. She'd come out of her room seeing Lucy walking up the stairs stains of chocoate around her mouth letting her know Lincoln had found her. She'd been planning to go downstairs and bond with Lincoln butter him up for the main event, but as she'd hit the bottom step Clyde had dropped the bombshell that he was leaving and couldn't hang with Lincoln. Lori had felt anger that Clyde had ruined her plans, then joy at knowing he wouldn't, and finally she felt sad for her big brother knowing how much he'd looked forward to spending time with Clyde. Lori watched for a moment as Lincoln spiraled into depression and then squared her shoulders. "No way I'm not going to let this night be ruined. Don't worry Lincoln I'll still make this the best night ever for you." She whispered to herself as she approached him on the couch.
