Chapter 6: Distractions
Of all the forms of boredom, Mai hated one above all others: sexual frustration. Worse was when it came after another long and onerous day of stuffy bureaucrats and no boyfriend. After nearly an hour of tossing in her too-large, too-empty bed, she sighed and gave up. “Ty Lee! Are you still awake?” she whispered.

Definitely same shift, though, she thought with a chuckle, not wanting to cut into their own special time if this turned out to be more than just a night’s dalliance. It was flattering to know that she and Ty Lee had roused the passions of those two and she wished them the best. Still missing her fiancé but satisfied in every other way, she smiled and drifted off to a well-deserved slumber.
