Axel relaxed, enjoying the feel of the water running down his nude body while Shark helped him wash his back. As Shark finished washing Axel, the two shifted positions, Axel soaping down the dense fur on Shark’s back and rubbing it in even as the water rinsed him off. After a short pause, Axel had a great idea and, with a mischievous smile on his face, continued soaping down lower on Shark’s back and over his rear. Shark made quiet moans of happiness as Axel continued down his back, not sure what Axel had in mind exactly, but he was sure to enjoy it. With a sudden quickness, Axel slipped his hands in-between Shark’s legs, grabbing both of his mate’s heavy balls from behind. Shark, although “surprised” by his boyfriend’s actions, stayed relaxed until Axel started fondling both of his balls. He quickly tensed up, his cock already sliding out of his massive sheath and hardening as heat started building in his loins. Just a few minutes later of Axel’s continuous ministrations and Shark felt a comforting pressure surging up the length of his shaft.
“UHHHH!!” Shark moaned in pleasure as thick ropes of his semen shot onto the walls and showerhead of the shower he and Axel were sharing. Turning to face Axel, Shark picked up his love and kissed him gently. “You know, I think you might have to wash me down again.” Shark said teasingly as he rubbed his cum smeared cock against Axel’s loins and eight-pack, leaving them painted with white jizz.
“I might say the same to you now.” Axel said as he bent over and gently sucked on Shark’s head, running his teeth lightly over the sensitive, warm skin of his boyfriend’s manhood. With a shuddering moan, Shark climaxed again, shooting a large load of cum into Axel’s mouth.
“Mmmm… I think I like this kind of breakfast.” Axel said as he kissed Shark’s well toned eight-pack, “too bad we don’t have time for a second course.”
“Why not?” Shark asked, looking down at Axel lovingly.
“Well, we did agree to tell the rest of the team about us dating this morning.” Axel said in response.
“Oh, right… I completely forgot after last night.” Shark said, sighing.
“Little wonder…” Axel said as he reached up and gently ran a hand along Shark’s face. The two quickly finished their shared shower and quickly dried off, rapidly dressing so they could grab breakfast before they had to make their announcement to the team. The rest of the team appeared to still be asleep as the two of them made their way to the kitchen. Shark quickly whipped up an omelet while Axel poured himself a small bowl of cereal.
“Not hungry?” Shark asked.
“I already had quite a bit of breakfast thanks to you.” Axel said happily as he patted the large bulge in Shark’s jeans. He smiled in response to the blush that colored Shark’s face a light color of red, despite his eagerness to have Axel suck him off; Shark was embarrassed when Axel referred to his seed in such a fashion. Axel didn’t really consider his mate’s semen as such, but Shark always looked so cute when he blushed like that. After a moment longer, Shark had to turn back to attend to his omelet.
“I thought bulls were herbivores…” Axel said teasingly even though he already knew the answer.
“I still have my human teeth and digestive systems.” Shark said as he flipped the omelet onto a plate and neatly cut it in two with the spatula. He quickly fished around in a nearby utensil drawer, at last finding a fork, and sitting down at the table. The two of them ate in silence, both nervous at how their teammates might respond to their announcement. Lioness had taken the news in stride and seemed to be happy for the two of them, but King and Hawk were guys, they might not take the news so well. Axel looked out the window as the sun lightened the eastern sky. Ever since he and Shark had been together, to two of them had been getting up earlier than anyone else, usually at dawn instead of midmorning or later. Axel hadn’t really noticed until a couple weeks ago, and he had been surprised that he had not noticed sooner. The two finished their meal in silence and cleaned their dishes as Lioness wandered into the dining room, her nightgown gently cascading down the stairs with each step she took. This was fairly typical for a normal morning, in another half hour or so King would wake up and Hawk sometime after that.
“Good morning guys.” Lioness said as she poured herself a glass of orange juice, “How did you sleep?”
“Well enough.” Axel responded, still a little grumpy when having to deal with anyone other than his beloved Shark this early in the morning. Lioness let it slide as she usually did; knowing Shark was the only one who Axel would be completely nice to at this time of day.
“We decided to tell everyone that we’re dating this morning.” Shark said in a tone that said he was explaining Axel’s grumpiness.
“Oh. That should be a good shock to the others.” Lioness said light-heartedly as she took a small drink of her orange juice, “So… I know I haven’t asked this before, but how is your relationship going?”
“I think that we’re going all the way.” Shark said happily as he leaned over to give Axel a kiss on the top of the head before he poured himself a glass of orange juice for himself.
“You can’t get married though.”
“Common-law, it’s allowed here.”
“Oh, that’s not really…”
“Doesn’t really matter, does it?”
“No.” Lioness finally said at last. Obviously Shark had put some thought into this, and if Axel agreed with him, she wasn’t going to argue. Of course, their families might… if they had any family left. A lot of people had been lost in and around Landmark City during the Year of Lee. Shark might not have anyone left, but if that were true, he certainly didn’t show it. Didn’t matter really and it was not really her business either. So the three of them sat together, continuing to talk about various topics that interested them. Lioness hated to blow off topics that were clearly important to her friends, but they probably were very nervous about their decision to tell King and Hawk they were dating. Maybe later she would talk with them about their plans, although she might want to wait for them to formalize them a bit more. Besides, it wouldn’t be as bad as they were thinking; she had already talked to King a little about his feelings on homosexuality. He didn’t seem to mind too much, so long as they didn’t shove it in his face and Axel and Shark’s announcement hopefully wouldn’t cross that line. After what seemed like a short time, King wandered into the kitchen area, yawning loudly as he walked down the steps. To their credit, Lioness noticed that neither Shark nor Axel seemed too interested in checking out King, even though he was only wearing boxer shorts and a tank top. They really were devoted to each other.
“Morning.” King said sleepily as he poured himself a cup of coffee that had been left on all night, not really a good idea. Hawk had done that fairly often, why they still let him in the kitchen was an eternal mystery, especially considering his past history with the kitchen.
“So why is it you three are always the first ones up in the morning?” King asked, clearly still half-asleep.
“Actually, on a related note, there is something that you need to know…” Axel started after taking a deep breath to calm his nerves.
“Axel and I are dating.” Shark finished for him. At first King didn’t react, Lioness knew from experience that was him wanting to finish his coffee before he had to react to anything. After a few more tentative sips of the steaming hot drink, King set his cup on the island counter in the middle of the kitchen and leaned back against one of the counters.
“Congratulations, you two, I wish you the best, I really do. Not the type of relationship I would choose obviously, but if it works for you then I support your decision.” King said, his demeanor sincere. Lioness let out a sigh she hadn’t realized she’d been holding, she might have said he was fine with gay men to her, but actually meeting them and having two of your closest friends turn out to be them was quite different. After King’s response, the four of them moved into the living room area and sat down, talking about their relationships and where they were going in their relationship. Much to Axel and Shark’s surprise, Lioness and King were engaged and had been for several months now.
“Why didn’t you say something?” Shark asked, slightly confused as to why the two of them wouldn’t share the good news with everyone.
“Kind of for the same reason you two hid the fact you were dating, afraid of the consequences, changing the team dynamic and so on.” Lioness stated matter-of-factly. It was half the truth at least; the rest of it was they wanted to surprise the rest of the team with the invites. But one surprise deserved another, and Axel and Shark had definitely been keeping a good surprise secret.
“You know though, the fact that you two are dating explains so many things really. I always did wonder why you were so eager to get Shark back when he was kidnapped those months ago. Not to mention why the two of you were always alone here at the center together. I’m kind of surprised I didn’t figure it out sooner all things considered.” King said as he finished off his coffee.
“Well, to be fair, the two of them are rather isolated… Well, Shark not so much until he was turned into a minotaur.” Lioness said as she got up to go pour herself another glass of juice. While she was gone in the kitchen, King leaned a little closer to Axel and whispered to him.
“So you guys are serious about this?”
“Yes, I hope it doesn’t change our friendship any.”
“Not unless you start flirting with me.” King said with a laugh, “I mean, you guys are my friends, no matter what. Well, if you turned evil or something then maybe not, but this is no reason to ruin our friendship. Don’t worry about me; I’m fine with your choices.”
“That’s nice to hear, although if I might ask without being rude, why did you wait until Lioness left to ask?”
“Well… so she didn’t take my question the wrong way really. I mean, she did ask me a while back how I felt on this type of thing… Wait a minute… she knew about you two all along, didn’t she?”
“Not all along, besides we did ask her not to say anything.”
“That makes sense…” King said as a loud ‘thump’ sounded in the hallway leading to the kitchen.
“You awake Hawk?” Shark called down the hall as Axel, Lioness and King chuckled quietly.
“Yeah, screw you too Shark!” Hawk yelled as he walked into the living area, “Hey, thanks to whoever started the coffee.”
“You did Hawk. Last night.” Shark said in a tired tone.
“Really? Cool, brewed to perfection then.”
“You and King are the only ones who drink that stuff.” Lioness commented in a tone not too dissimilar from Shark’s.
“Eh, you guys don’t know what you’re missing, this stuff is great.”
“Hawk, Axel and Shark have an announcement for everyone.”
“Oh huzzah… I just wake up and already there’s an announcement… What, are they getting married or something?” Hawk complained sarcastically.
“We might.” Axel said flatly, although he did look at Shark with a rather longing expression on his face.
“Oh, great, now I’m the only one in this entire place you doesn’t have a date for the Lee Industries Gala. Why me? I am available, I am young and…” the rest of Hawk’s rant faded off as his volume decreased from an actual rant to more of a mumbling sound.
“He took that pretty well.” Lioness chuckled softly, more to herself than anyone else. Oddly enough Hawk didn’t come back with some startled comment of surprise or some expression of horror.
“Well, he’s fairly ego-centric… What else should we have expected I guess.” Shark commented in a slightly confused tone. He had known that Hawk had an inflated sense of self-importance, but he hadn’t realized just how truly expansive it was. Although he hadn’t realized that the Lee Industries Gala was coming up so soon, he would have to ask Axel to go with him, not to mention he needed to get a formal suit that would fit him. Just then, their main door opened and Agent Lena walked in wearing her usual outfit that she always wore while briefing them.
“Sorry to disturb you so early in the morning, but we have uncovered potentially vital new information. Where is the fifth member of your team?” she said smoothly as she brushed some dirt off her black dress skirt and quickly unpacked various display equipment.
“Hawk? Don’t worry about him, we’ll fill him in later… or not, depends.” Lioness said quickly, the last thing they needed was to have to drag Hawk out of his bed or wherever he had gone to.
“Whatever, as long as you perform your jobs correctly, we don’t care.” The agent said as she turned the projector on, “We discovered a secondary facility that Lee is using to construct the parts for his rockets. We knew it existed before but we were not sure where it was exactly. It appears Paine is currently staying at this facility, meaning that we cannot strike yet. However, this has given us the opportunity to extract further information on the situation.”
Agent Lena hit a button on her laser pointer and the picture melted into the familiar picture of Paine’s daughter, “You’ve met Samantha Paine previously of course. However, what you don’t know is that she has been missing for nearly twenty months according to our estimates and that Paine was looking for her during the event known as the Year of Lee. Of course, the alternate Paine was running loose during that time so you likely did not notice. Regardless, he continued searching for her until he attempted to sink Landmark City with the Tidal Torpedo about a year ago. You would likely remember that event quite well since it led to his eventual ‘death,’ a which point he was recruited by Lee. Recent evidence indicates that he wishes to resume that search but Lee will not let him. What I want to know is: how attached is Paine to his daughter? Would he be willing to turn on anyone for her?”
“Paine is absolutely dedicated to his daughter; he would betray anyone who would stand in the way of him protecting her.” Axel said simply, shrugging.
“Thank you. That is really all I need to know.” Lena said as she pulled out a pair of reading glasses along with several sheets of paper, “You all are scheduled for several training sessions later this week, as usual. Thankfully for all of you I suppose, you are allowed to attend the Lee Industries Gala next week. Otherwise, I have nothing further to bother you with.”
Quickly repacking her equipment, Lena briskly walked out of the center, a small smile on her thin red lips. Manipulating people was a specialty of her agency, although she and her agency had no designs on manipulating the ATOM team currently, there might come a time when it was necessary to do so for the greater good. For now, however, Paine would suffice and someone questing for a lost loved one was one of the easiest people to manipulate. Sometimes she really enjoyed her job…

Paine walked into the control center of his base to find it oddly empty. Generally there were security personnel in here as well as Spydah. But today they were nowhere to be seen and Lee had demanded to speak with him, a fact that filled him with unrivalled joy to be sure. The large screen at the far end of the room activated and an image of Lee quickly resolved itself on the screen.
“Hello Paine, how does this morning find you?” Lee asked in his irritatingly cheerful manner.
“Cram it Lee, what happened to my men?” Paine growled out at the screen.
“I had them reassigned temporarily. You see, in order for my plan to succeed, the ATOM team must be removed from the equation. That is why I have sent Spydah and several of our security forces to Landmark City to destroy them when they will be most vulnerable, during the Lee Industries Gala event. Before you say anything, I know that Spydah has proven to be less than competent under the best of circumstances, but I believe I have given him the proper motivation to not fail with this task.”
