Kingdom of War 5
The Lovely Inferno…
Tsung stood quietly, almost in awe of the young man that stood before him. Zuko’s bending stance was flawless, as he exhibited Southern Dragon Claw style. Mai backed him up with three throwing daggers between her fingers in both hands. Tsung’s men were visibly shaken by the appearance of the Fire Lord in this village. Zuko’s victory of Azula in Agni Kai spread through the Earth Kingdom soon after his coronation, along with how he ‘handled’ several usurpers for his throne.
“So…the mighty Lord of the Fire Nation graces us with a visit.” Tsung mocked. “But why are you here, Fire Lord? This is Earth Kingdom business.”
“When you attack a friend of mine, it becomes my business.” Zuko sternly answered. “And just what are you doing here?”
“Cone-Hat boy is trying to strong-arm this village for Long Feng.” Toph answered promptly.
“He’s threatening the people of this town.” Katara added. “And who knows how many more villages have suffered the same fate. Long Feng’s trying to take over the Earth Kingdom for himself.”
“Hmmph. Guess he didn’t learn his lesson from when Azula toppled him.” Mai commented.
Tsung simply chuckled upon hearing that. “Oh, my master is far more powerful than he was when he faced that brat. Now it is his divine right to rule this land…with more Nations to come. And you, boy, cannot hope to stop us alone.”
That insult irked Zuko, but he remained calm and collected. “Heh, whoever said I was alone?”
Suddenly, the Fire Lord used his Firebending to lift a small flare into the air. Tsung became puzzled by this action, but he would soon understand why it was done as several flickers of light were seen from the forest, with more following by the second. Within moments, the trees were illuminated, as if it were a firefly swarm. But Tsung knew better, as Zuko explained.
“The Yu Yan Archers.” He told Tsung. “My finest warriors from the Fire Nation.”
“This…this isn’t good.” One of Tsung’s men uttered. “We should get out of here!”
Tsung quickly darted back towards him and shot a look that could kill instantly. Loathe to admit it though, Tsung knew his man was right. Turning back towards Zuko, he played off his reluctance with a sly grin.
“Then I guess Long Feng will have the honor of claiming this village later…” He said, slowly backing away.
“He’s about to run.” Mai noticed.
“He won’t get far.” Zuko replied, before unleashing a torrent tunnel of fire right at the Dai Li Agents. It took quick Earthbending, but Tsung was able to block the attack…barely, and make his escape with his men down a rocky path which lead to the mountains, away from the forest and away from the Fire Lord.
“I’m getting sloppy…” Zuko told himself, upset with Tsung’s escape. “I should’ve struck quicker.”
“Hey, Zuko!” The Fire Lord turned around, his attention landing back on Sokka and the gang. “Good to see ya, buddy. Glad you could make it. Now, if you wouldn’t mind…COULD YOU GET US THE HELL OUT OF HERE!?”
Mai & Zuko both looked at each other for a moment, before turning back to the water tribesman. “Uh Sokka, we’re Firebenders.” Zuko reminded him. “Unless you want us to burn the ground…”
“Never mind, never mind!” Sokka quickly stated.
“Hold on…I’ll get us out…”
All eyes turn to Toph, who was already at work wiggling her arms. She had been doing so ever since Tsung trapped her under the dirt, vying for even a little movement for her hands so that she could bend herself & her friend out of this situation. Eventually she gets it, and propels herself free from her dirt holding. A quick hand gesture & stomp, and the rest of the gang are jettisoned back onto solid ground.
“Oh yeah, that’s the stuff…” Sokka said, stretching out and cracking his neck.
Katara did the same, only with far less blatancy. “Thanks for the save Zuko, but what are you doing here?”
“I was in the Earth Kingdom for a meeting with the King, and I saw the Dai Li.” Zuko explained. “Something just told me that I should follow them…I’m glad I was right.”
“So am I.” Sokka agreed as several Yu Yan Archers approached the Fire Lord.
“We weren’t able to apprehend them, Lord Zuko.” One of them announced.
“It’s fine…they won’t run for long anyway.” Zuko replied.
The Archers bowed in respect, and at that moment, Katara spotted something familiar about one of them. An archer, standing in the rear; he wore a conical straw hat, set low to hide his eyes. But the demeanor was all too familiar to Katara…as well as the archer’s protruding ears.
“Longshot?” The archer hesitated, but eventually raised his head and acknowledge her, putting a joyous smile on her face. “Longshot, it’s you!” She rushed over and hugged the silent former Freedom Fighter tightly, as Aang & Sokka followed her over. “We haven’t seen you since Lake Laogai…where…”
Longshot simply put his hands up, halting Katara’s words as he didn’t need a reminder of them. Katara nodded, understanding fully. “How did you become a member of the Yu Yan Archers?” Aang asked.
“I asked him to join.” Zuko answered for Longshot. “Half a year ago when the Earth Kingdom hosted the Peace Summit, I saw him training out in the woods, and remembered him from the Freedom Fighters. He’s now second-in command of my archers.”
Longshot showed off his badge of honor, worn over his right shoulder on his uniform. Katara & Sokka continued catching up with the silent archer as Zuko turned to give them their privacy; but he would find himself having company as well.
“Zuko!”
The young Fire Lord turned to see Aang standing at his side. “Thanks for helping us back there.”
“It’s not a problem, Aang.” Zuko told him, before walking away…until Aang grabbed his shoulder.
“Now tell me the real reason why you’re here.” Aang insisted.
Zuko looked at him puzzled. “I just told Katara. We…”
“…were here to see the Earth King. I know.” Aang finished. “But you had your archers ready to attack. Last time you were here, you brought no military.” Aang looked at the expression on Zuko’s face as it drastically changed. “…you’re here to stop Long Feng, aren’t you?”
Zuko nodded his head. “I just can’t…sit by and watch him do this.”
“I hate to say it but Tsung was right, this really isn’t your battle.” Aang told him.
“Isn’t it?” Zuko countered. “The Fire Nation is basically responsible for locking him up, and I didn’t make the move to transfer him to Boiling Rock! I should’ve…”
“Listen to yourself, Zuko.” Aang interrupted. “You’re still trying to atone. You’re still trying to make up for what your father did. That wasn’t your fault and neither is this! You don’t have to fight every battle that comes up because you feel you have a stake in it.”
“Then why are you here?” Zuko barked back. “Long Feng has nothing to do with you; you barely have history with him!”
Aang stood silent for a moment, before answering. “Because I’m the Avatar, and I can’t stand by while Long Feng tries to conquer the Earth Kingdom. I’m supposed to do something.”
“And I’m not?” Zuko asked, offended.
“But who are you doing it for?” Aang shot back.
That comment caused Zuko to drop his head. “You don’t understand.” He began. “People still resent me, because of what my father did. Even with my declaration of peace, I still see people from other Nations, staring at me with either hatred or distrust.”
Aang folded his arms over his chest. “I do understand. When I came back, the people from this village hated my guts, all because of what my predecessor did to Chin the Great. Others hated me just because I wasn’t there for them for 100 years. But I’m not going out and risking everything in battle to prove I’m the good guy, and neither should you. Focus on the good you have done, the people who don’t look at you like they do your father. You can’t please everyone in the world, you have to realize that.”
“Yeah…” Zuko agreed. “If only I could, though…”
“People know that you’re not your father, and you never will be him.” Aang reassured him.
Zuko nodded in agreement, but as Aang went to rejoin the gang, the Fire Lord stopped him. “Wait…there is another reason…why I’m here.”
Looking over at the rest of the group, he focused his eyes on Mai, who was in the middle of a discussion with a Yu Yan Archer. “To be honest…I kinda missed the adventure we went through. Plus, Mai was feeling bored in the palace.”
Aang could only smile in response. “Yeah, Katara wouldn’t admit it, but I think she wanted to come along for the action, too.”
“OK!” Sokka announced, grabbing everyone’s attention. “Now that we got Zuko here, this will all be a lot easier.”
“Yeah, but I think we still should enlist more help.” Katara added.
“Good idea!” encouraged Sokka, giving his sister the thumbs up.
Katara continued. “…which is why I propose we make a trip to Kyoshi Island.”
Upon hearing that, Sokka’s mood pulled a complete 180. “Bad idea! Very bad idea!”
“Huh? Why?” Katara asked.
“Well, uh…uh…” Sokka began to stumble over his words, thinking of a valid reason for his protest. “Uh…well, the load! I mean, Appa can only carry so many, and with Zuko here it’s gonna…”
“I have a private war balloon I can use to follow behind you guys.” Zuko revealed, shooting down Sokka’s reason.
It didn’t deter him from trying, though. “Well…there’s…Zuko!” He said. “I mean, don’t you think the island residents still hold a grudge? We don’t wanna risk a riot, do we?”
“Sokka, we were with Zuko when Suki & the island residents welcomed him back on the island!” Katara reminded him. “What’s going on? Why don’t you want to go to Kyoshi Island?”
Sokka began to stammer again. “Uh…I, uh…ah…”
“I agree with him.”
Upon hearing those words, all eyes turned onto the one who spoke them, Mai. “I think it’s a wasteful trip. If you guys wanna go, be my guess. But I’m staying here.”
“Mai, why do you want to stay here?” Zuko asked.
“Does it matter?” Sokka interrupted, standing right next to Zuko’s love. “If the lady wants to stay here, then we all have an obligation to remain here with her.”
He smiled widely, agreeing with Mai’s point of view, but found himself moving away in fear as she shot him a cold glare. “You’re still mad about that drawing I made last year, aren’t you?”
“Alright, enough!” Katara interrupted. “I don’t know why you two are acting so apprehensive about going to Kyoshi Island, but you’re going! We’re ALL going! In case you’ve forgotten, Long Feng is trying to conquer the Earth Kingdom. And we need all the help we can get! So everyone stays together, and we GO to that island! Understood!?”
Mai challenged Katara’s abrupt decision by engaging in a stare down against the skilled Waterbender. Neither one backed down an inch as they remained relentless in their belief; steadfast about their feelings on the subject…until Mai finally relented, not wanted to draw it out.
“Whatever…” She sighed, turning away. “Let’s just get this over with.”
“Huh, really?” Katara replied, surprised that Mai gave in. “Great! Well…let’s get going!”
“Wha…wait, NO!” Sokka protested, as the group readied for the journey. “You had her. She was about to buckle…man I hate it when Katara does that!”
The half-moon shone down through the iron-barred window of the Infirmary Ward, as Azula finished cleaning up her work station, fresh off of finishing her shift. The head doctor of the Ward was just making his way out of room, and off to his home.
“Good night, Azula.” He wished. “You can finish cleaning the rest of the Ward by yourself, right?”
“Of course.” She assured him, cleaning a scalpel off and placing it down on the counter by several others. “I have everything here I need to finish.”
Azula smiled, and the doctor tipped his hat to her as he exited. What he didn’t notice was the double-meaning she had for that statement. The Fire Princess indeed planned to finish things tonight. She volunteered for the late-night task of ‘tidying up’ the Ward, a place where she asked Jet to meet her at this moment. A quick ‘persuasion’ of a prison guard allowed her to view Jet’s file…and helped her discover the truth. She glanced down at the scalpels arranged in line, intending to use however many were needed to give Jet his final farewell.
“Azula?”
She quickly turned toward the doorway, shielding her weapons from view as she spotted her target walking in. “Jet! I’m so glad you could make it.”
“Yeah…well to be honest, I wanted to see you tonight, too.” He answered sincerely, slowly strolling into the room with both hands behind his back, holding his hook sword. Earlier in the day he had discovered Azula’s title as Princess of the Fire Nation, and the actions she took in the toppling of Ba Sing Se & after. He clenched the sword tightly, and narrowed his eyes, intending to make her pay for her crimes.
“I just thought that we should take the time to get to know each other better.” Azula suggested. “I mean, I just found out some very interesting bits of information about your ‘past life’…Freedom Fighter.”
Jet was in shock, but quickly shook it off and remained focused. “And I could say the same for you…Princess. Tell me, you got any more plans for overthrowing the Earth Kingdom?”
“Oh I wouldn’t be concerned about your home if I were you now, peasant!” Azula sniped, slowly reaching behind herself. “Besides, you’ll never see it again…”
And with that last word, the crown Princess let fly with dual scalpels, aimed at Jet’s head. He easily deflected them with his sword, but discovered it was only a diversion as he spotted Azula in the air, coming down at him with another. He was barely able to block the attack, as the scalpel is stopped inches from his face.
“You pathetic lair!” Azula barked at him. “You tried to destroy MY Nation! MY home!”
“And you’re any better?” Jet shot back. “Conquering Nations, destroying anyone who gets in your way? How much blood is on your hands!?”
They both pushed away from each other, but held their guards up. “Fire Nation Royalty, you’re all the same. You don’t care who’s in your way, as long as you get what you want.”
“Isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black!” Azula quipped. “I found out about that Fire Nation Village you flooded. You think that I’ll let you get away with doing that to my people!?”
Jet smirked. “And just what are you gonna do about it? Last I checked your Firebending abilities went AWOL!” Instinctively, Azula thrust a fist forward, hoping for a fireball to burn Jet’s face. She received nothing. “Case…in…point.”
Unfortunately, Jet was unprepared for Azula’s follow up attack; a quick crescent kick which sent him stumbling back into a metal shelf. “I don’t need Firebending to deal with an insignificant peasant like YOU!”
Azula sought to punctuate that statement, but Jet reacted quickly and landed and elbow to her stomach. He followed up by grabbing her by the hair and forcefully pushing her into shelves of boxes. He didn’t release his hold though, as he finished off by picking up the crown princess and tossing her into the Head Doctor’s work desk, reducing it to wooden splinters.
Azula was slow to get up, as Jet tried to catch his breath. “You call that putting up a fight?” He huffed. “You’re not a princess…you’re a joke.”
Azula responded to that insult by grabbing a nearby bedpan, spinning around and smashing it into the side of Jet’s head. The blow dazed him considerably, allowing the Fire Princess to follow up with a knee to the chest, followed by a devastating dropkick which sent the former Freedom Fighter flying backwards and crashing into more metal shelves.
Now it was Azula who stood tall as Jet struggled to his knees. “If I’m not a Princess…then why are you on your knees before me?”
That putdown shot right through Jet. He wanted to end it quick, as did Azula. Similar minds thought alike as both glanced at their weapons, before scrambling for them. Reaching them simultaneously, the two jumped to their feet and charged at each other, meeting in the middle of the room one last time. They traded attacks, with Jet gaining the advantage due to his larger sword. He leapt forward for the decisive blow of death, but hit nothing but air as Azula rolled under him with grace & agility akin to Ty Lee. Once back on her feet she took the initiative, and caught Jet by surprise as she stormed towards him.
She slammed him back against the wall, her scalpel blade an inch from his neck. But in turn, Jet’s hook sword was an inch from hers. A small movement, one simple flinch could take out the jugular, bringing a final resolution to this fight. But as Jet looked into the fire that was in Azula’s eyes…he was reminded of his actions at Ba Sing Se. His constant hounding of Zuko, his almost crazed accusations that landed him in deep dirt with the Dai Li…and nearly lead to his grave at Lake Laogai.
And that reminder was strong enough to make him drop his sword. “I’m done…”
Azula was completely put off by his action. “What…you’re what?”
“I’m done…” Jet reiterated. “I can’t do this…”
“Stop trying to fool me!” Azula ordered.
But Jet remained steadfast in his decision. “I’m done with it…if you wanna end it, go ahead. But I just wanna say…I do care…”
“NO!!!” Azula shouted, cutting him off. “Don’t you say it! Don’t you DARE say it!!!”
Her hand was trembling; she could barely hold the blade still. Her eyes, against her will, were focused on Jet’s as she saw the sincerity he exhibited. She didn’t want him to say it; she wanted him to attack so that she had a reason to kill him. She wanted to make him pay, to ignite the burning flame inside her that was fueled by the conquers of her family & her nation years ago. Instead, she got the five words she didn’t want to here…
“…I do care about you.”
And that did it.
Azula’s defenses dropped like the wall of Ba Sing Se, and her weapon to the floor. She latched onto Jet and nearly pulled his head off as she shoved her mouth into his. She was lying to herself. She never wanted to kill the man who showed her so much compassion ever since she was sentenced to this holding. But she was afraid to show this side of her that’s taken over now so decisively. She was uncontrollably sucking on Jet’s lips, infatuated with his body to the point where she literally jumped onto him.
Her legs wrapped around his waist as he held her up. Her arms held his head close as she kept the kiss locked in, only stopping sporadically for gasps of breath. She could feel his bulge through the fabric of their clothes, as Jet carried her over to a nearby vacant bed. It was mostly used for those who needed rest & recuperation, but right now its use will be for the exact opposite.
Forcefully he fell onto the bed, Azula still latched onto him. Moving to her side, he let his hand slip into her prison slacks & panties, and explored her womanhood.
“AAAHHH…”
Jet grinned deviously at that display of affection. “Did I hit the right spot?”
“Shut up and keep working!” Azula shot back, accommodating him by spreading her legs wide. In truth, he did hit the right spot. Azula was so use to having her own fingers turn in work on her snatch that it was a pleasant shock when Jet delved two of his inside of her. She didn’t stand pat though, as she put her hands to work and slid Jet’s pants down to his ankles. She then began to handle his manhood with surprising care, stroking the shaft with one hand while caressing his balls with the other. A somewhat flushed look formed on her face as she continued to jerk him off as she received lovely finger-work. And it was a look that didn’t go unnoticed by Jet.
“What’s wrong, never handled one this big?” Jet teasingly asked.
Azula was ready for a sharp comeback, but…
“AAAAHHH!!”
A bolt of pleasure prevented her from using it. It also served to make the Fire Princess impatient. “Enough of this!” She scolded, pulling Jet close. “I desire your cock inside me!”
“Someone’s impatient…” Jet replied, before complying. Positioned right above her, he held his member in place, positioning it for entry as Azula waited eagerly for it. But as he brought his head up to her wet lips and thrust forward, she found herself in over her head…
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!”
And that’s when it hit Jet. The excessive groping, the smart remarks…though the Fire Princess may have exuded the attitude of an expert at all things, when it came to matters of the bedroom…
“Azula…you’re a virgin?”
Her face immediately turned red as she looked away in embarrassment. She felt humiliated for it to be revealed like this…but she felt even better to have a real cock inside of her. “Just…don’t stop…”
Jet snapped out of his slight shock. “OK, alright. I’ll start out slow and…”
“NO!” Grabbing him by his collar, she pulled him close and looked him in the eye. “I want you to fuck me with all you have! Make me feel it!”
She punctuated that demand by pulling him close for another passionate kiss; this one tongue-included. Deep down, Azula wanted this; ever since she was incarcerated here, since she was ‘introduced’ to Jet. She was completely out of control as passion & desire guided her actions, and though ashamed to admit it, she reveled in it. She began to grind into Jet, wanting him to start up movement as she ran her fingers through his hair. And though reluctant at first, Jet began to comply.
He didn’t start off easy, but it was a steady pace he began with that made Azula yell out a passionate moan. With her legs hitched in the air, she clenched the bed sheets tightly, her fingernails nearly ripping through them. She bit down on her bottom lip as her breathing quickened, moans escaping her lips with every thrust Jet gave to her. She gazed up at him lovingly, her face showing a slight amount of blushing as she grinned. His cock felt divine inside of her, to the point where she felt she could live without everything else except for it. But another feeling also began to rise inside of her, a feeling she didn’t appreciate at all…submissiveness.
Though she loved him drilling her, she began to hate the fact that she was on her back, letting him do it. As if he were master over her, and she was his slave…and that she could not allow.
So, surprising Jet, she tightened her legs around his waist, and used her leverage to roll him over onto his back, putting her in the ‘dominant’ position. Needless to say, Jet was taken off guard by her actions. “Azula…”
Seeing the look of shock on his face, Azula quickly remedied the situation by leaning in for another kiss, while getting her hips in motion. She wanted to be on top, but she didn’t want him to slow don’t or relent one bit. And she reminded him of that as she broke the kiss.
“Don’t stop!” She moaned, urging him to fuck her harder. “I want your cock slammed into me! Fuck me, Jet!”
Her fingers gripped his shoulders firmly as she willed him to give it all he had. And again, as he grabbed hold of her hips, he complied. “No problem, princess.”
Suddenly, Azula felt his thick manhood thrust into her with nearly double the speed & force of before. She was overwhelmed by pleasure to the point where she nearly collapsed on top of her, barely catching herself as she placed both hands on his shoulders. Her once perfectly done up hair was now frazzled beyond recognition, as sweat bounced off her skin.
“Oh…GOD…”
She found herself unable to make even complete statements as she panted like an animal in heat. The moans from her became louder by the moment, and she found it hard to even focus. She was running on automatic; her body instinctively synchronized with Jet’s for maximum sexual pleasure. Nothing ever felt this good to her; the Nations she conquered, the foes she defeated, the fear she instilled, none of it compared to the unbridled euphoria she felt at this moment as her pussy was joyfully reamed by Jet’s hard member.
Her breasts bounced hypnotically as she bit down on her lower lip. It was embarrassing for her to hear herself moan so much, but she was near the point where she simply didn’t care…and also to the point of her limit.
Clenching her toned ass cheeks tightly, Jet felt himself also approaching his limit. “Azula…I’m gonna cum…”
The Fire Princess couldn’t even answer him. Instead, she let out a primal scream, one that rattled the room and would the halls had the door not been closed. Her body tensed, her breath ceased, and her eyes rolled into the back of her head as she experienced her first orgasm, coupled with Jet’s.
His hot load shot inside of Azula, right before she fully collapsed onto him. Two more streams of jizz shot out, covering her ass cheeks as both lovers sought to catch their breath. Exhaustedly, Jet put his arm around Azula, truly astonished by the wildness she showed during their love-making.
“That…was incredible…” He huffed, chest heaving.
Again, Azula didn’t answer him. In fact, her mind wasn’t even focus on him; not completely. Instead, she thought about the past, or to be more specific, Boiling Rock. She thought back to the betrayal she endured from her former friend Mai, then Ty Lee. She recalled watching Mai’s uncle, the Warden of the Prison, lock them both up in cells, and Ty Lee, eyes welling up, asking why. But what brought her to that memory was recalling the brief words she traded with Mai.
“Don’t bother Ty Lee.” Mai said. “She won’t listen, it’s useless.”
“Yes, it is.” Azula agreed. “You know, you really need to learn your place.”
Mai smirked back at Azula. “And you really need to get laid.”
Is this what she meant? Those seven words echoed through Azula’s mind as she basked in the afterglow of her orgasm. It was no secret that during the boat ride home from Ba Sing Se after its invasion, Mai & Zuko spent most of it in Mai’s quarters getting “reacquainted.” And Ty Lee always discussed that Water Tribe boy, and how he made her aura red hot. But finally she’s experienced it. She’s “gotten laid”, as Mai would’ve put it…and it was intoxicating.
Jet began to worry, as Azula remained silent for over a minute. “Azula…are you OK?”
“More.” The Fire Princess beckoned, slowly rising up off his chest so she could face him.
Jet smiled, feeling flattered. “I’d love to. But I’m gonna need 5 minutes to rest up.”
5 minutes was an eternity to Azula, one she did not want to experience. Taking matters into her hands, she planted a kiss dead on his lips, and let her tongue invade his chaotically. Her nipples began to brush against his chest, as she started to grind against him, desperately wanting another erection. Within 5 seconds she received her wish, and pushed away from Jet’s lips leaving a thin line of saliva, and wearing an almost crazed look.
“More!” She demanded, the lust inside of her a peak levels.
Noticing the look in her eyes, Jet could only comply with her wishes. “Yes, Princess!”
The evening sun gave the sky an orange hue as it slowly sank into the horizon. Everyone’s attention was in the middle of the village square though, as the citizens spotted a huge flying bison in the air soaring over them, signaling one thing…the Avatar is back.
Appa made a perfect landing right at the village entrance, as cheers began to ring out through the crowd. They all huddled around the group, waving their hands and praising their hero who helped to end the Great War. One young man was especially ecstatic to see them, as he began to holler & scream at the top of his lungs while waving his hands wildly. Eventually, he began to foam at the mouth, and passed out onto the ground as Sokka & Katara hopped off the flying bison.
“Ah, always good to see that guy again.” Sokka said of his ‘rabid’ fan. The rest of the group dismounted as well, as a Fire Nation War Balloon landed right beside Appa. The insignia on the balloon drew gasps from the crowd, as they were wary to approach it. A moment later, Zuko & Mai stepped out of the Balloon’s basket and were greeted with stunned silence. It was what Zuko feared, as he could feel the apprehensiveness coming from the crowd. But as the moments past, the crowd began to applaud the Fire Lord, remembering his promise for peace throughout the world.
“Told you, Zuko.” Aang said with a grin.
The group then joined together as they were greeted by the village leader, Oyaji. “Welcome back to Kyoshi Island. It is good to see you all again, especially you Aang.”
“It’s good to see you, too.” Aang replied.
The village leader smiled. “I hope you aren’t here to celebrate Avatar Day…you’re a few months early.”
“Actually, I’m not.” Aang answered. “We need to speak with Suki & the Kyoshi Warriors.”
At that moment, Zuko, a few feet behind Aang, turned to Mai. “That reminds me. Why didn’t you want to come here earlier?”
“Well, I can’t say about their whereabouts.” Oyaji told them, looking back towards his village. “They were out training in the forest earlier but…wait, there’s one! I believe it’s Suki’s second-in-command.”
Mai’s eyes widen as her heart skipped a beat. And even stranger, Sokka mimicked the same response. The Kyoshi Warrior in the distance began to jog over towards the village leader. And as she came closer, her identity was confirmed soundly. It was Ty Lee.
“What’s wrong?” She asked. “We just finished training and…Mai? Is that you!?” Instinctively, Mai took at step behind Zuko, hoping to shield her appearance there. But it was too late. “MAI, IT IS YOU!!! YOU CAME HERE!!!”
Like a freight train of pure joy, she stormed towards Zuko, who panicked and leapt out of the way, leaving the path open for her intended target, Mai.
“I knew I should’ve stayed at the palace.”
With startling speed & strength, Ty Lee tackled her friend off of her feet and to the ground, where she hugged Mai so tightly, they were literally cheek-to-cheek. “I can’t believe it! I talked to Iroh and I said you weren’t gonna show up and he said you were gonna show up and he was right…YOU DID SHOW UP!!!”
Mai turned up her glance at Zuko. “This was why I didn’t want to come here.”
Ty Lee sat up from Mai with a confused look. “Wait, who are you talking to?” Mai weakly raised her arm and pointed at her love, as Ty Lee gasped with joy. “ZUKO!!!”
In a flash, Katara & Aang cleared the path for Ty Lee as she made her run at the Fire Lord. “NO! No, wait! Ty Lee, you don’t have to—GAAAHHHHH!!!!!!”
A hard glomp brought Zuko to the ground as Ty Lee landed on top of him. She then sat him up and embraced him like a boa constrictor. “YOU BOTH CAME!!! It’s so good to see you guys again!”
“It’s…good to see…you too…Ty Lee…” Zuko struggled out, before mercifully being released by her loving hold. It was then that the lieutenant of the Kyoshi Warriors noticed the rest of the group with Mai & Zuko.
“You’re all here.” She said. “You all showed up. Wait…then that must mean…”
Like a periscope, she began to scan the area around her, looking for the one man that keeps her infatuation, Sokka. She spotted him behind a wooden post, and grinned deviously. Sensing a ‘warm welcome’ the likes of which Mai & Zuko received, the water tribesman gulped hard and took the only recourse he felt was appropriate…he ran.
“AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH…”
Ty Lee’s seductive grin only grew wider as she crouched into a ready position, before jetted off after him. The speed of which Sokka ran would’ve impressed him had he cared at the moment. Not known for being the supreme athletic type, he was easily through half the village in under a minute. Unfortunately, he was no match for Ty Lee’s speed. Almost effortlessly she caught up with her ponytailed love and tackled him to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.
A moment later, the dust cleared, and she was mounted on top of him. “Hi, cutie. I love it when you play hard to get.”
“Yeah…hard to get…” Sokka repeated, laughing nervously.
“Did you get the letter my hawk sent you?” She asked.
“Oh yeah, the letter.” Sokka replied. “Yeah, I got it. The letter…which told me everything you’d do to me if you ever got me alone here.”
“And I meant every word.” Ty Lee added, before leaning into his ear & whispering. “I even practiced some new positions just for you.”
“Ahem!”
The couple both turned their heads upward, to see Suki standing over them. “Welcoming guests to our village again, Ty Lee?”
“Just in my own special way.” Ty Lee answered, climbing off of Sokka as the rest of the group joined them.
“Uh-huh.” Suki said with a hint of sarcasm as she helped Sokka to his feet. “Well, let me give him my own little welcome…” She proceeded to do so by pressing her lips against his in a kiss that both have longed for. It lasted several seconds as neither one wanted to break away, until Suki finally pulled back. “It’s great to see you again, Sokka. And I think I know why you’re here.”
“You do?” Sokka & Katara replied together.
“Yeah, we heard about Long Feng from Iroh at the Jasmine Dragon.” She revealed.
“You saw my uncle?” Zuko asked. “Is he one his way?”
Suki shook his head. “Actually, he told us he’s choosing to stay out of it. That the new Fire Lord is more than qualified to assist.” Zuko folded his arms and remained silent, conflicted about his uncle’s choice not to help in the fight. “I’ll explain more on the way.”
“Where’re we going?” Toph asked.
“To the Great Hall.” Suki answered, grabbing Sokka by the wrist. “You all must be hungry, and it is around time for supper. So let’s go!”
“Yeah, come on Sokka!” Ty Lee exclaimed, grabbing his other wrist.
“Wait, no—WHOOOAAAAA!!!!” Against his will, the water tribesman was led along by the two top-ranked Kyoshi Warriors, both meaning to grab a seat right beside him. As they pulled him along though, he raised his head up to the sky and told himself, “This is gonna be a long night…”
The stars twinkled in the sky over Omashu as its citizens readied themselves for a good night’s sleep; their King being no exception. King Bumi let off a gaping yawn and stretched his arms to the sky as he wearily walked across the grand hall of his palace. Most of his servants have already turned in for the night, leaving him by himself as he journeyed towards his throne room.
“Oh bother, the years are not taking it any easier on these withered bones.” He uttered to himself. “And all that talking during the war meeting today. I swear, General Yung could use his speeches for torture tactics…or a cure for insomnia!”
The old King cackled at his own joke as he continued to shuffle towards the door. “Ah mercy, that was funny! Now, a quick check of my throne and then it’s off to beddy-bye land…”
Unfortunately for the good king, as he used his Earthbending to open the Throne Room doors, he was immediately greeted by several Dai Li agents, all ready to Earthbend at a moment’s notice. Bumi also noticed that his throne was currently occupied…by Long Feng.
“Good evening, your majesty. I think it’s time we had a little…chat.”
