Specter Hunters Worldwide
Amity Park, USA
Friday, 1:36pm
“We are now here at the Amity Park History Museum…”
Henry reluctantly raised his camera onto his shoulder and began his documentation alongside his partner, Don. “…that’s right fans, we are BACK in town. The same city where Ghost-Powered hero Danny Phantom battled his greatest nemesis—!”
“Uh, I wouldn’t say that Youngblood was his ‘greatest’ nemesis…” Henry disagreed.
“Whatever.” Don scoffed. “Anyway, Danny defeated the enemy by using his intellect, bringing forth a compromise where—!”
“That’s not how Danny won the fight.” Don stated, correcting his friend. “It was when he brought Ember over and—!”
“Dude, chill!” Henry scolded. “The FCC’s already on our asses! Anyway, we’re back in town for another episode; this one bigger & badder than the last! Because THIS…is SPECTER HUNTERS WORLDWIDE!!!”
There was an air of silence in the darkened room so prevalent you could almost hear crickets chirping outside. “Dude, I told you the name didn’t make sense.” Don said. “We haven’t even left the country—!”
“Whatever!” Henry interrupted. “We can edit that out later. But film this stuff, ya gotta get this stuff!”
Don pointed out to objects throughout the cavernous display room in the Museum, which showcased various items of historic magnitude. Henry started his filming in the 1600’s section, which showed a model replica of a town gathering used to burn witches. The townspeople looked odd through as their manner of dress appeared to be…boxes!?”
“Ha-HA!!!”
“HOLY CRAP!!!”
Falling to the floor, Henry began to tremble in fear as the image of spectral creature floated up from the village display. The figure was somewhat rotund, wore factory overalls & gloves and, sadly, couldn’t be legitimately scary without significant help.
“I am the Box Ghost!” The spirit announced. “And you have invaded my new secret headquarters, where I plan my utter and complete revenge against the dreaded Danny Phantom!”
In response, Don began to chuckle, before breaking into a full-out laugh. “Dude! Seriously?” He asked his fallen partner. “You let HIM scare you!? After all the stories we heard about him!?”
“Hey, he came out of nowhere!” Henry barked back, defending himself.
It didn’t stop Don’s laughter, which grew to annoying the Box Ghost. “Foolish humans! You DARE mock the might of the Lord of all Cardboard Cases?! For that I shall—GUFFWAAAAHHHH!!!!”
A fist. A glowing fist. That’s what silenced the Box Ghost as he flew across the room, coming to a stop when he crash-landed in what was once a display of factory workers from the Industrial Age. The fist belonged to the very reason Henry & Don have returned to this ‘haunted’ town. Amity Park’s protector, Danny Phantom.
“Seriously. Do you EVER get enough of hearing yourself talk?”
The Ghost-Boy didn’t receive an answer, and as he floated over the wreckage he helped to make, he saw no sign of the Ghost-Zone’s ‘threat’. “Oh great, he’s playing hide-and-seek now.”
“Not for long.” Said Tucker, who entered the room along with Sam. In his hand was the same Paranormal Kinetic Ectoplasm Meter used to locate Youngblood when he wreaked havoc through town. “He’s hiding in the Vikings display.”
Sure enough, the mannequin of a fearsome-looking bearded warrior quickly morphed back into the plump appearance of Danny’s foe. “Ha-HA! You have fallen right into my trap! Now I shall…wait, what is that sound?”
It was a very familiar sound to the Box Ghost, and it was followed by a tremendous force pulling him from behind. “That would be a Fenton Thermos.” Sam enlightened.
“No…NO…NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
His screams echoed through the Museum and were only silenced when he was completely sucked inside of the metal tubing of the Fenton Thermos. The lid was quickly slammed on & twisted shut by Jazz, the fourth member of the team & the only one wearing a jumpsuit.
“WHOOHOO!!!” She cheered, jumping in the air. “We came, we saw, we kicked Box Ghost ASS!”
From there, she broke into a dance that could only be described as half-monkey, half-rump shaker. And its performance immediately prompted Danny into action as he blocked the camera.
“Uh, can you guys just edit this part out?”
KSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHK!!!
The Reintroduction
Amity Park
-Fenton Works-
Friday, 5:13pm
“You wanna film us again?”
That was the question Danny asked as he lugged a heavy plastic garbage back over his shoulder and marched out the back door of FentonWorks. He was disposing of his parents garbage, which mostly consisted of Maddie’s scribbled out blueprints for new weaponry, and Jack’s wrappers from his snacks. He dumped the bag into the dumpster as Don answered him while Henry filmed.
“Dude, the last time you were on our show…ratings, through the ROOF!!!” Don exclaim, holding his hand flat & high about his head, giving Danny a visual. “You’re fight with Youngblood was AWESOME! And that’s why the producers wanted more of that for our new show: Specter Hunters Worldwide!”
As the three reentered the kitchen area of FentonWorks, Danny grew a confused look on his face. “But…we’re in Amity Park, USA.”
“Trust us; the fans will love the name.” Don assured the Ghost-Boy. “Now, where is the action!?”
Danny let out a short laugh with a grin. “Dude, you’re looking at it.”
It was Don’s turn to wear the confused look as Sam, Tucker & Jazz walked in. “Wait, what? No, I mean, where’s Skulker with his big cannons? Or Technus with his…techno…things? Hell, I’d even take the Lunch Lady Ghost!”
“All of them are back in the Ghost Zone.” Danny revealed.
“What can we say, it’s been quiet here.” Sam told the filming duo. “In fact, other than that Box Ghost incident from earlier, there have been 0 ghost attacks in this city for two weeks.”
“A good thing, too.” Tucker added. “With no ghosts on the rampage my approval rating is through the roof.”
“It’s not all entirely good though, Tucker…”
All eyes in the room turned towards the kitchen entrance, to see Danny’s mother, Maddie Fenton, standing there. Her eyes were nearly fixated on a device she was tinkering with. “Low levels of spectral activity are never a good thing.” She explained. “Usually they lead to something that could result in an E.L.E. occurrence. Especially if a powerful spectral force emerges.”
“Uh…E.L.E?” Don asked, already regretting hearing the answer.
“Hmm?” Maddie said, looking up from her device. “Oh! It means Extinction Level Event.”
“T-That’s what I thought it meant.” Don gulped.
“Don’t worry…” Danny assured the cameraman. “She meant for the ghosts, not for us. E-Day really hit the Ghost Zone harder than we thought. Most of them are either recovering or…just plain gone.”
“Speaking of hitting hard; be careful around your father, Danny.” Maddie warned her son. “With the lack of spectral activity, he’s been a little on edge. Not having any ghosts to chase or fight with hasn’t been good for him.”
“Alright mom…” Danny replied as he grabbed a TV remote off of the kitchen table. He wanted to get in some music video watching time while there were no ghostly happenings in town, maybe check out Dumpty Humpty’s newest song; but as the flat-screen display hummed to life and the picture faded in, Danny was greeted by the image of an item he thought long destroyed.
“What the…is that…?”
“…The Reality Gauntlet.” The reporter announced onscreen. “An ancient item of mythical proportions, said to give the wearer control of all facets of reality, through the power of the three gemstones already placed in the slots on the lower part of the gauntlet. A fourth gem, one that is believed to grant power & control to the other three, was not with the gauntlet when it was discovered at an Archaeological Dig in southern India. Regardless, most historians believe that the existence of said fourth gem was completely mythic; a tale to ward off thieves who would steal the gauntlet to obtain their own riches. The Reality Gauntlet will be on display at the Amity Park History Museum for the next two weeks. With more on this sto—!”
Having heard enough, Danny put the TV on mute, but everyone’s eyes remain on the image of the gauntlet…the one they all believed destroyed.
“Hmm, that’s interesting…” Maddie noted, having had watched the report. “I wonder if it has any otherworldly ties. Maybe I should do some research…”
And Danny’s mother walked out of the kitchen, making her way to the basement to conduct her research, and leaving the four upstairs stunned by the report.
“OK…” Sam said, breaking the silence. “…didn’t you destroy that thing over a year ago!?”
“Yeah, I did…” Danny confirmed. “You both were there when I did it.”
“Maybe…it pulled itself back together?” Tucker suggested, causing all eyes in the room to turn on him. “OK, you think of a better reason…”
“The thing is, I can’t…” Danny admitted.
“Wait a minute, Reality Gauntlet…” Henry said. “Just…what is that big glove thing anyway?”
“Well, basically the Reality Gauntlet gave you the power to control all reality.” Tucker informed them. “You see, this weird ringmaster dude who called himself Freakshow got hold of the Gauntlet, and he immediately started changing reality to suit him.”
“But we were able to grab hold of the Gauntlet and transport the gems away to safe hiding places.” Sam continued. “Long story short, we had to gather them up for Freakshow, who captured our parents; big fight at the end, Danny tricked Freakshow into becoming a full ghost, captured him in the Fenton Thermos and saved the day.”
“And right after that I destroyed the Gauntlet to make sure it couldn’t be used again.” Danny chimed in. “But…now…”
“Maybe that isn’t the real Reality Gauntlet.” Jazz suggested. “Or maybe there were actually two of them. You know, like a pair of gloves…” All eyes turned to Jazz after hearing that. “Well I don’t hear you coming up with ideas!”
“OK, OK!” Danny said, backing off. “Look, maybe we should just head down there and—!”
The sound of a hard-rocking ringtone cut off the Ghost-Boy’s suggestion as Tuckers’ phone/PDA began ringing. Spotting it on the table, Sam reached over to hand it to her friend, until she noticed a strange number on the display. “Wait, who is this calling you, Tucker?”
“Oh! Probably just my mom…checking in on me.” Tucker replied with an awkward chuckle. “She can worry sometimes.”
“Tucker, I know your home phone number.” Sam reminded him. “And this isn’t it.”
“She got a new cell phone!” Tucker quickly replied, snatching the phone from her grasp. He then stood up and answered the call while walking out of the kitchen, leaving his friends somewhat confused.
“…what was that about?” Jazz asked.
She received shrugs from Danny & Sam as answers, and the three continue to debate over what should be done. “Sam!” Danny exclaimed, getting an idea. “What about that book you had the last time we faced Freakshow? Do you still have it?”
Sam shook her head. “I just grabbed it from the school library before the Dumpty Humpty concert. It’s back there.”
“Not likely…” Jazz disagreed. “Remember, since Casper High got that funding it needed 6 years ago they renewed most of the departments there, including the Library.”
“That’s right…” Sam recalled. “…and they moved the older books over to the Amity Park Public Library…”
Danny nodded, understanding. “Then we gotta head there. If we can find that book, maybe we can find out everything about the Reality Gauntlet, including how to destroy it for good. Let’s go!”
Grabbing his hooded jacket off of a chair, Danny made a beeline towards the doorway, followed by Sam & Jazz. Henry & Don quickly trailed behind; the latter having his camera focused on Tucker, who was still on the phone in mid-conversation.
“Yeah…yeah, I know…look, I can’t really come over now, she’s back in town…I don’t know, her college schedule changes a lot…alright, I’ll come over tomorrow…don’t worry, I’ll be there…OK, bye.”
“Come on, Tucker!” Danny yelled.
Hanging up his phone, the young Mayor of Amity Park shoved it in his pocket and chased after his friends. “OK, hold up! Wait for me!”
Amity Park Public Library
-8:24pm-
“Man, I never noticed how creepy this place was…”
Tucker’s observation echoed through the night air as the 4 members of Team Phantom approached the steps that led up to the Library, their point of destination on this night. As Danny led the march up the steps, Tucker began to tremble uncomfortably. “Seriously, does the outside have to be so dark?”
“I like it.” Sam commented. “Gives this place more of a Goth feel.”
The team reached the top of the stairs and proceeded inside the library, passing two huge guardian tigers on each side of the entrance. Though they were clearly stone statues, Tucker couldn’t help but feel unnerved just glancing in their direction, as if they could pounce down right on top of all of them, without warning & without mercy. The interior of the library was less cryptic and more business-like; the lights were dim inside and the aisles were vacant. No one seemed to be inside the center for books except the librarian herself, and for good reason.
“I’m sorry, but we’re closing up.” The librarian, a redheaded woman wearing glasses with slanted triangle lens design, said. “You’re gonna have to come back tomorrow…”
“I know, I know, it’s late.” Danny said. “But we just need one minute to look for one book, and then we’re gone.”
“We swear just one look…” Sam added, unfortunately the librarian shook her head.
“Sorry, I gotta lot of things ta do tonight, so no can do.” She replied.
“Let me handle this…” Tucker said, stepping to the front and leaning nonchalantly against the front desk. “You might know my face; Tucker Foley, Mayor of Amity Park, the youngest and most handsome Mayor…”
“I’m sorry Mr. Mayor, but I still gotta close up shop.” The librarian repeated, shooting him down. Her stance remained firm, until she noticed Danny’s face. “Hey, you’re that ghost kid, Danny…uh…”
“Phantom.” The super-powered Fenton finished for her. “Danny Phantom. And…you know me?”
“Sure.” The librarian answered. “I’ve seen you on TV lots of times. I even TiVo’d that fight you had with that plant ghost.”
Danny grinned to himself as he remembered that fight. His battle with Undergrowth a few weeks back took a lot out of him. “Yeah, that was a tough one. But you see, I really need to find a book that’s here. It can help me out with a huge problem which might be getting bigger if I don’t do something.”
“Well why didn’t you just say so?” The Librarian asked, coming out from behind her desk. “Here, I’ll help you find it. You remember the title of the book?”
As Danny & the Librarian walked further inside the book emporium, Tucker was busy trying to heal his somewhat wounded ego. “OK, I’m the Mayor of this city, I’m basically the No. 1 guy here, and HE’S the one that can get us in a closed Library?”
“Don’t worry, Tucker.” Sam told him. “When there’s a new store opening in this city, we’ll know who to call.”
Tucker just shot a cold look at his friend for her sarcastic comment, one she continued to chuckle over as Henry & Don moved to the front line, the latter filming the Librarian. “So, Ms. Uh…” Don tried to read her nametag. “Uh, Mel…”
“It’s pronounced Melnitz.” The Librarian informed him. “For some reason I’ve been getting a lot of problems with my name around here.”
“So, Ms. Melnitz.” Don continued. “Interesting that you know about Danny Phantom here…fan?”
“Not really.” She answered. “But anyone who can stop ghosts from terrorizing towns is OK with me.”
Don nodded. “You say that you saw him on a TV news report?”
“Actually, it was on this show called ‘Specter Hunters’, I think.” Ms. Melnitz clarified; a fact which planted wide grins on Henry & Don’s faces.
“So, you must be a huge fan of the show!” Don concluded proudly. “I bet you never miss an episode.”
To his surprise, the Librarian shook her head. “Actually, I was waiting for my favorite show to come on. You know, ‘Lifestyles of the Rich, Vain & Narcissistic…”
“Dude, I told you that show kills us in the ratings…” Henry reminded his partner.
“Just shut up and keep recording.” Don lamented.
The search for the book took the entire group near the back of the Library, far from the entrance they came through just minutes earlier. As they proceeded down the 3rd to last Aisle in the center, a sudden chill filled the air, one noticeable by everyone including Danny. But given the temperature outside was in the 20’s, and the Library was nearly 100 years old, he paid it no mind. A moment later, Ms. Melnitz made a quick turn to her left and pulled out a large hardcover book.
“Is this the one you were looking for?” She asked.
“This is it!” Sam declared, immediately taking the book. She began to flip through the pages frantically, another cold chill passes through the room, this one much more significant.
“That’s funny…” Ms. Melnitz noted. “I though I left the furnace on.”
Danny didn’t feel it being that funny, especially with what occurred next…his breath. A small wisp of it exited his mouth, enough to inform him that spectral activity was indeed nearby. Seeing this, Tucker reached into his back pocket and pulled out the meter Danny’s mother gave them. Turning it on, it immediately began to flash wildly, emitting a loud beeping/ringing noise. They were definitely not alone.
“Uh, Miss? I gotta ask you to find somewhere safe to hide…” Danny advised. Surprisingly, Ms. Melnitz complied as she backed away from the group. From there, Danny’s eyes went to scan the area they were in. The amount of ghost energy he was feeling told him that one was definitely very close. And after a moment of looking he found out just how close…right behind his older sister.
“Jazz, don’t move…” Danny cautiously warned.
“What are you talking about?” Jazz asked. “We gotta find…” She cut herself off once she felt the presence behind her. The hot breath on the back of her neck, the low growl, whatever this ghost was, it definitely was of a primal nature. “…it’s right behind me, isn’t it?”
She froze, unwilling to move as she feared any sudden movement might lead to her end. But the entity behind her wasn’t willing to be patient. It had the silhouette of a huge primal beast, one that could instill fear into even the bravest of ancient warriors. Needless to say, fear was the only thing Henry felt as he kept recording.
“Aw man…I think I’m gonna wet myself…” He uttered.
The beast shifted, moving into an attack position, readying itself to strike down Jazz. And that caused Tucker to react.
“JAZZ!!!”
With only pure instinct driving him, he leapt over to his love and tackled her to the ground as both barely avoid a deadly swipe from the spectral creature. It also gave Danny the opening he needed.
“GOING GHOST!!!”
With a sudden flash of light, Fenton quickly became Phantom, and Danny unleashed a massive ecto-blast from his hands, knocking the creature back into several bookcases. Taking to the air, Danny sought to gain the advantage quickly in this fight. But what he saw was enough to delay him for the moment, and drop his jaw.
“It’s…it’s the tiger!”
“What?” Sam asked, confused by his words. As the light hit the creature though, it became evidently clear: it was the tiger, the very same stone tiger from outside the Library entrance.
“It…it IS the tiger.” Sam repeated.
“You see!? I told you!” Tucker exclaimed. “I told you those tigers didn’t look trustworthy!”
“Yeah well I’m gonna—GUUHHH!!!” Unfortunately Danny’s declaration was cut short as the stone tiger slammed him down to the floor, landing on top of him. The blow helped to assure Danny that this was indeed the tiger from outside, as its immense weight was crushing him by the second. It took all of his strength, but he was able to use his legs to force the tiger off of him, and climb to his feet.
“Fine!” Danny said, fed up. “It’s time to teach kitty some manners!”
Making a fist, he drew his right arm back and unleashed a hard blow to the stone tiger’s jaw…one that did absolutely nothing but hurt him.
“YYYYYEEEEEEOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUCHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!”
Danny was now holding his hand in pain while mentally kicking himself for forgetting he was fighting a STONE tiger. He was reminded of that fact again when the tiger swiped, knocking Danny back several aisle, and through 5 fully-stocked bookshelves.
“DANNY!!!”
Sam, Tucker & Jazz all ran to see if their half-ghost partner was alright, but their path was immediately blocked by the tiger, who sought someone else maul.
“OK, does anyone know if the Fenton Thermos will work on this big kitty?” Sam asked in desperation.
“Unfortunately, no.” Jazz answered. “It works on the property of absorbing spectral energy. Seeing that this tiger is made out of stone…I say we’re screwed.”
“Oh joy…” Sam sarcastically declared.
The three slowly backed away, as the stone predator loomed closer, each of its steps cracking the floor. The way it moved & stalked, like an actual jungle cat on the prowl. It would be considered remarkable by Jazz if she wasn’t in fear for her life at the moment. Fortunately, it appears the first battle still has not ended yet.
“HEY, FELIX!!!”
The predator turned to find Danny Phantom back on his feet, with both of his fists glowing bright with ghostly-energy. “Time to put you back in the comic pages!”
It was a threat the jungle cat did not want him to see through. But as he went on the attack, Danny responded with a barrage of ecto-blasts, rapidly fired from his hands. The storm of energy began to break down the stone tiger as it started to crack & crumble from the explosive energy bombarding it. Even one of its forelegs was knocked completely off, leaving the ghostly rock creature barely able to stand.
But he did remain upright, as did Danny, albeit both barely. The sudden outburst of spectral energy left the Ghost-Boy nearly drained, and it took most of his focus not to revert back to his human form. “Damn…I was hoping that would turn you into pebbles…”
The stone tiger roared loudly in response, almost as if he were replying ‘It didn’t’. And with three good legs, it sought to dismember Phantom, and end the fight. As the predator went airborne though, another beam of spectral energy collided with its body…this one bright purple. The tiger was tossed across the Library before it landed hard in the computer area, destroying itself & all electronics nearby.
Danny fell to one knee, in shock over the last-second save. But he would become more shocked as he spotted a familiar hand reaching out to him.
“Need help, Phantom?”
“Y…Youngblood!?”
The former mischievous adolescent ghost turned teen spectral threat turned ally grabbed Danny’s hand, and helped him back to his feet. “What are you doing here?”
“I saw the fireworks inside and thought I’d join the party.” Youngblood replied.
“Yeah right, like it was just coincidence that you showed up here.” Sam debated.
“Believe it or not, it is!”
All eyes then turned towards the Library’s ceiling, where they spotted Ember McLain standing in the rafters. Her look had changed since their last meeting, where Danny used her help to broker a truce between himself & Youngblood. Instead of being done up in a ponytail, her hair now flowed down her back, although she still retained her bangs. She wore a long leather trench coat, along with a tight green baby-T with a matching tie. She still retained her tight leather pants though, and her guitar was on her hip as she leapt from the rafters down to join the group.
“Ember, I should’ve known you’d be here too.” Danny realized.
“My Tour Bus broke down out front, crappy-ass mechanic.” Ember revealed as she put her arm around Youngblood. “Babypop here saw the action going on…and you know how he gets so excited…”
Danny let off a soft laugh. “Well, thanks for the save, man.”
“Hey, I only wish there were more of them to stomp on.” Youngblood confessed, longing for more action.
“Uh, hey you guys…” Youngblood, Danny and the rest of the group turned towards the librarian Ms. Melnitz, who was currently hidden behind a file cabinet for protection. “I think ya just got your wish…”
She pointed over towards the Library’s entrance, where another stone tiger stood proudly. Its roar was even louder than its predecessor, and its snarl hinted that it was more dangerous.
“Alright, Round 2!” Youngblood cheered before charging off into battle.
Ember echoed his enthusiasm with a pseudo-battlecry of her own. “LET’S ROCK!!!”
She flew forward after him, and the two engaged their stone foe with Danny taking his time to recover. To say this battle was graceful and technical would be to downright lie. Brutality was on the menu today as Ember smash her guitar into the stone tiger’s face. Youngblood followed up with a barrage of ecto-blasts, before finishing off with a focused ghostly-beam, one that began to crack the surface of the tiger. But it was smarter than its predecessor, and quickly took to the offensive by letting out an eardrum-rattling roar. It stunned Ember & Youngblood just long enough for it to pounce, knocking both out of the air and all the way back near Danny’s location.
“OK…this one’s tough…” Youngblood noted.
“The tougher, the better!” Ember remarked. “Let’s see how much pretty kitty can take!”
“WAIT!!!”
The hard-rocking couple halted their attack, and turned to Danny. “We gotta end this now. We can’t risk that thing getting out into the streets, there’re too many innocent people around.”
“You got a plan, Danny?” Jazz asked.
“As a matter of fact, I do.” He answered. “Ember, I want you to turn your guitar up as far as it can go…”
“Ooh, I’m loving this plan already…” Ember replied, grinning deviously as she turned her notch up all the way to 12.
“The rest of you, who aren’t ghosts, may wanna cover your ears…” Danny warned.
Tucker, Jazz & Sam heeded Danny’s warnings, as did Ms. Melnitz. Youngblood, however, only grinned with anticipation as he noticed the stone tiger preparing to charge. Ember took her place right beside Danny, and readied herself.
“Alright Ember…” Danny told her. “…On 3…”
The stone tiger let out one last roar, and then rumbled forward, looking to shed blood.
“…THREE!!!”
Taking a deep breath, Danny unleashed his most powerful technique.
“WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!”
The Ghostly Wail; an attack with almost limitless destructive power. Ember added her firepower to the attack by strumming on her guitar viciously, creating power chords that formed into devastating sound waves, which merged with Danny’s Ghostly Wail. The joint attack halted the stone tiger in his tracks, and though it fought to move forward, it was utterly useless. The entire building was shaking down to its foundation. Windows were rattling, walls were cracking, and everyone found it hard to even remain upright during the torrential attack.
“DUDE…TELL ME YOU’RE GETTING THIS!!!” Don yelled to his partner, who could only nod his head as he continued to film.
The stone began to crumble on the tiger, and within moments their primal foe was left with no leg to stand on. Books, bookcases, file cabinets, anything that wasn’t nailed down flew wildly through the air in their path, as the once powerful statue that stood outside the Library was reduced to a mere pile of rocks.
Danny ceased his attack, as did Ember. And as the Ghost-Boy fell to his knees, transforming back to his human form, the Hard-Rocking Ghost put the exclamation point on their victory.
“Damn that Rocked!”
“Danny, you OK?” Sam asked, rushing to his side.
“Yeah…just tired…” He wearily responded.
“Oh boy…” It was at this time that Ms. Melnitz, the helpful Librarian, came out of hiding and examined the destruction caused by the fight. “The Curator sure isn’t gonna like this. I’m gonna need to find a new job…”
“Don’t worry about it.” Tucker assured her, pulling out a platinum credit card. “Just charge it to the city, we’ll handle it.”
Ms. Melnitz took the card and carefully examined it. “Wait a minute; this card says it belongs to a Vla—!”
“Trust me, it’ll work.” Tucker reassured, before turning to Danny.
“Still got his credit cards?” Danny asked.
“Still got his credit cards.” Tucker answered.
As the team gathers together to check on Danny condition, Henry & Don also join them, with Henry placing his camera down on one of the few standing tables in the Library. Unbeknownst to him though, the camera is still filming, and it catches two shadowy figures off in the far corner of the Library, a man & a woman, both of them wearing trench coats.
“Hmm…the Ghost-Boy has gotten stronger over the years.” The man stated. “It doesn’t matter, though. Once I obtain what’s right fully mine, he’ll be powerless to stop me.”
“But my master…” The woman said. “They have the book…”
“Oh please, I don’t need the book to use the Reality Gauntlet.” The man reminded her, leaning his head out of the shadow to reveal his identity as Freakshow. “All I need is to find the blasted thing…so I may take my rightful spot as Master of all Reality…and with your magic, it should be relative child’s play.”
The woman also revealed her identity in the light, but it wasn’t of Freakshow’s tattooed companion…no, by the look of the long, flowing, raven hair and the ample bust noticeable through the coat, the Ring Master Villain had garnered the services of the Ghost Genie, Desiree.
“Yes, my master.” She obediently replied, before the two delved back into the darkness.
