Darcy and Blazer chatted idly as they slowly made their way back to the dormitories. Blazer glanced at Darcy curiously.
"So, do you really think she just slipped like she said?"
Darcy smirked back at her.
"Oh, she slipped alright, but it was no accident. She definitely did that on purpose."
Blazer shook her head.
"Pretty gutsy move, and pretty stupid if you ask me. The Wrecking Crew are gonna skin her alive the first chance they get."
Darcy hooked her arms behind her head and grinned.
"Maybe, but you gotta admit they did bring it on themselves."
Blazer grinned back, unintentionally staring at Darcy's rack as she did.
"Yeah. First C.P. makes that slime puddle, then Ice Bitch takes her time picking out her seconds, then Wind gets tired of waiting and walks right into Ice Bitch's trap. SPLAT! Soup all over her! Stars, that was priceless!"
Darcy notices the direction of Blazer's gaze and smirks at her teasingly.
"If you wanna closer look at 'em just let me know. I'll be happy to give you a real good look."
Blazer realizes that she's been caught and quickly looks away with an embarrassed blush.
"Aw geeze. You know I really didn't used to look at girls' chests like that before you came along. I think you musta brainwashed me or something."
Darcy brought her arms down and laid one across Blazer's shoulders.
"It's called awakening you to your innermost desires. You're just embarrassed because you never realized you even could like girls that way."
Blazer's cheeks burned bright red as she looked back at Darcy.
"Do you think you could say that a little louder? I don't think they heard you over in the east tower."
Darcy grabbed hold of Blazer's shoulder and shook her playfully.
"You know, for a witch you sure seem to care an awful lot about what other people think of you. Witches are supposed to get mad, not embarrassed. You're not some kind of fairy wannabe or something are you?"
Blazer glowered at Darcy.
"Oh hell no! Although I have thought once in a while that I would have made a bitchin' fairy if fairies just weren't so lame."
Darcy gave Blazer a strange look.
"'Bitchin' fairy'? Now there's a contradiction in terms."
Blazer grinned apologetically and shrugged.
"Hey, what can I say? I like the wings. I don't get why fairies get wings and witches don't."
Darcy shrugged.
"I dunno. Probably because wings are too froofy and princessy. Besides, witches don't need wings to fly. We can do that on our own."
She frowned thoughtfully and glanced at Blazer.
"Say, when do they teach that anyway?"
Blazer put her finger on her chin and looked upward thoughtfully.
"Sophomore year I believe. I think I'm supposed to be taking flight lessons this year."
Darcy scowled and gave the wall a disgruntled kick.
"Hmph. Lucky. It sure would have helped me to know how to fly this morning when Cloud Tower tried to push me out of the nest."
She stopped in front of her door.
"Speaking of which, this is my stop. Sure you won't come in for a quicky?"
Blazer caught her lower lip between her teeth, looking like she was considering it for a moment before shaking her head.
"Sorry. I think once is pushing my luck far enough for today. Maybe tomorrow. Anyway, it looks like your class schedule is here."
Darcy took a closer look at the door and noticed the three labeled envelopes affixed to it. There was one for Bethany A. Darkholme, one for Darcy A. Romanov, and one more for Amanda Stormwind. She pulled at the one with her name on it and it came away with a faint pop as the adhesive spell was broken. She opened the envelope and glanced through her schedule. After giving the schedule a quick once-over, she folded it back up and stuck it back in the envelope, then shoved the envelope down the back of her pants to get it out of the way. She looked back at Blazer coyly.
"You sure you won't come in? Well then I guess I'll just have to give you a proper good-night kiss to make sure you come back tomorrow."
Before Blazer had a chance to object or back away, Darcy threw her arms around Blazer's neck and gave her a slow, lingering kiss. Blazer stood still as a statue in stunned silence for a moment before warming up to the kiss and putting her own arms around Darcy in return. Moments later their embrace was interrupted by whistles, catcalls and one shout of "Get a room lezzies!" Blazer broke off the kiss and turned her head in embarrassment to see that several passers-by were looking their way with a mix of varied reactions, some disapproving, some lecherous, some merely shocked and baffled. Blazer quickly hid her face by turning back to Darcy and resting her head against her chest.
"Oh hells! There goes my reputation."
Darcy grinned and ruffled Blazer's hair playfully.
"Time to start building a new one then. Maybe something like 'That tough lesbo chick you don't wanna mess with'."
Blazer batted Darcy's hand away and grinned at her in a mock-menacing fashion.
"First thing you don't mess with is the hair!"
Darcy smiled as she opened the door to her room and slipped through.
"See you tomorrow then Blazey."
Blazer stuck her tongue out for a minute at the cutesy nickname then waved goodbye.
"See ya Darcy."
Darcy watched Blazer walk off, then closed the door. She walked into the bedroom and noticed that her carpet bag was lying on the floor beside her bed. Evidently it had fallen there while she and Blazer had been tussling around earlier. She picked it up and set it back on the bed, then rummaged around inside to see what was left. All she came up with was her bathroom kit and a poster of her favorite movie star. Setting the kit on the bedside stand, she stood on her bed and affixed the poster to the wall above it with a StayStuck spell. Once she was done she traced the outline of his chest with her fingertips and sighed.
"Vance Michael Justin. You are without a doubt the finest thing the backward little magicless planet Earth has ever produced."
She sat down on the bed and curled her feet under her. She picked up the now-empty carpet bag and tossed it aside. It fetched up against the wall, close to the pile of broken shards from the room's original mirror. Picking up her bathroom bag, she fished out a hairbrush and set to work brushing out her hair while she waited to see who her new roommates would turn out to be.

Icy stormed back towards her room, fuming. *How DARE that bitch try and punish me!*, she thought, completely forgetting she was being punished for freezing her fellow students, not for the fight she’d just had with Wind and The Wrecking Crew. *Well, let her try, for all the good it'll do her.*
She thought about going to see Twister but decided not to. It had been a busy day and she needed to get some sleep for classes the next day.
She found she didn’t need to fight Cloud Tower nearly as much this time and got back to her room with few problems from either it or any upper class girls either. When she got to her room she found two envelopes magically affixed to the door. She looked at them and saw the names; "Bethany Darkholme" and "Amanda Stormwind". *Damn it, my name is Icy and don’t you ever forget it!*, she thought as she removed the envelope with her name and opened it. Inside was a class schedule and a letter. She screamed when she read it:
"Miss Darkholme,
This is to inform you that starting tomorrow night and for the remainder of the week you will be required to bus the tables in the Cafeteria for your fellow students. One extra day will be added for tardiness, three extra days for any unexcused absence. Report to Ms. Crombia (head of Cloud Tower’s Cafeteria) tomorrow night @ 5:30pm for instructions.
Signed,
Auralee Griffin
Headmistress, Cloud Tower"
Darcy paused in her brushing and looked up at the sound of the scream coming from the hallway. "Sounds like someone came back to find her favorite dildo smashed to pieces in the hallway."
Shrugging it off, she laid her hairbrush aside and stood up to change into her nightgown. She had her top off and was just stepping out of her pants when she heard the sound of the hallway door opening and slamming shut. She turned her head to see the Ice Queen from the assembly standing in the doorway of the bedroom staring at her. She turned and smiled at her, pulling her nightgown over her head as she did so.
Icy was stunned. A moment ago her anger had been at full boil and she had been about ready to ice the first person she saw, but seeing the lovely enchantress in a state of semi-undress dampened her anger considerably. *Stars! Things are finally starting to look up!* She took a deep breath to steady herself. She didn't want to ruin this chance.
"I'm guessing you're my roommate?"
"Looks that way. My name's Darcy. And I'm guessing that you're either Bethany or Amanda."
Icy struck a haughty pose.
"Actually, the name's Icy."
*Well,* Darcy thought, *that doesn't do much to narrow it down for me. That nickname sure suits her, but it doesn't tell me which name to cross off the list of my new roommates.* She got her nightgown settled into place and walked over to offer a handshake.
"Icy, huh? Interesting name. Rumor has it that a bunch of upperclassmen got iced today. That your doing?"
"Of course," Icy said proudly. " Just my little way of saying 'Hello bitches,'" She then leaned over and kissed the enchantress' hand, trying to act as suave as possible.
Darcy smiled in a charming fashion while inwardly smirking to herself.
*Ahah! Lesbian! And a bold one too. I can have fun with this!*
"That's pretty impressive. By the way, was that you I heard screaming out in the hallway just now?"
Icy's face grew cold. "Yeah…", she trailed off. She turned away and crossed her arms irritably.
Darcy placed an arm around Icy's shoulders.
"So what was it that got you all fired up?"
Icy's heart beat wildly when the enchantress put her arm around her and her brain turned to mush. Trying to keep her cool, she handed over Griffin's letter absently.
"This."
Darcy accepted the note and scanned through it, noting the name Ms. Darkholme at the top. "Wow. Cafeteria duty. That sucks."
"Tell me about it." Icy said, looking down at the floor with a dejected note in her voice. She hated pity but hey, she'd take anything she could get!
Darcy grinned at Icy's pity ploy. She didn't really know the girl yet but it seemed somehow out of character for her to behave that way. *She must really be crushing on me to act like this!* She led Icy over to her bed and sat down, patting the spot next to her.
"Come on. Let's sit down and talk about it."
In her mind Icy practically did a victory dance at the invitation. Outwardly though, she remained calm and casual as she walked over and sat down next to the enchantress. She put her head on Darcy's shoulder, hoping the enchantress wouldn't get freaked out. She sighed deeply, then began. "So I gave some snooty upper class snobs the cold shoulder." *Along with everything else.* "Big deal. We're witches, not fairies. You don’t play if you can’t pay."
Darcy put an arm around Icy and rubbed her shoulder.
"I admire your attitude. Nobody messes with you, do they?"
Icy grinned smugly at that. "You bet they don't."
She raised her head and looked at Darcy, completely forgetting about Twister. "So, how about we open some wine and get to know each other… better?"
Darcy gazed at Icy speculatively. "Oh? But we’re roommates. Couldn't that make things a bit… awkward for us?"
Icy gave her a challenging grin. "Hey, what’s life without a little risk?"
Darcy grinned back at her. "A waste of time."

After running for a while, Amanda noticed she wasn’t followed and stopped to inspect her sandwich. Half of the contents were lost but at least she could pick out some cheese and eggs before throwing the rest in a corner. At least she still had a little bit in her pockets, but those rations were for later.
Amanda finally reached her dorm. Curiously, she took down the envelope addressed to her on the door, smearing it with mayonnaise. She read it, quickly abandoning reading the schedule and moved to the next note…a warning from Griffin, telling her that she’d be keeping an eye on her. "Goddammit, who the hell does that old hag think she is!?"
Darcy and Icy quickly separate when they hear the door open, Icy moving towards her own bed.

Amanda entered the room, slamming the door behind her in anger. A sudden movement in the corner of her eye made the blue-haired girl look up, finding both her roommates looking at her. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TWO LOOKING AT!?"
Icy could feel a charge building in the air. *The girl’s got attitude. Gotta give her points for that. But living with Sparky won’t be fun or easy.* "Nothing. I’m Icy. This is Darcy."
Darcy raised her hand in a friendly greeting. "Hey. You must be Amanda."
Amanda glanced at Darcy's hand. "Yeah, whatever, I’m off to bed," she said while wiping the mayonnaise on the skirt she so loathed. She noticed Darcy still staring at her. "What’re you looking at, Barbie?"
"Just wondering why a pretty girl like you doesn’t do more to accentuate her natural beauty," Darcy replied.
"Oh yeah? How'd you like me to ‘accentuate’ YOUR natural beauty? How about a black eye to go with that nightgown?" She quickly entered the bathroom to both escape her meddling roommates and wash her hands. She pulled her bag towards her to find some pajama’s. In her bag she only found a bright pink teddy adorned with a picture of a gray kitten with sparkling green eyes. Under the kitten the word ‘Happiness’ shone brightly. She wrung it out in frustration breathing, "I’m going to kill her this summer." Amanda grunted. Against her will and for lack for something else to wear she pulled it on. It was either that or go naked…
She walked into the bedroom again holding her arms in front of her, hoping she’d be covered enough.
Icy took one look at Amanda and quickly turned away. She barely managed to stifle a chuckle at the blue-haired witch in an outfit that would only make sense on a dorky fairy, and that just barely. *That has to be the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen!* She had to remain turned away, afraid if she looked again she would fall on the floor laughing.
When Amanda walked back in Darcy looked up and did a double-take at what she saw. "What the …? Miss Megawatt wears a teddy with a kitten on it to bed?"
"Don’t look, you friggin’ sexpot! It’s laundry day!", Amanda quickly lied… She rushed towards the bed to cover herself with the blankets but froze right before pulling them off the bed. "What did you call me?"
Icy quickly ducked out of the line of fire, still trying hard not to laugh.
Darcy sensed the danger she was in by the fierce glare in Amanda’s eyes. "I, um, meant that as a compliment?"
Icy chimed in, trying to protect Darcy and score a few points at the same time. "Yeah, it looks…great…on you", she said with a smirk on her face. Luckily Amanda didn’t notice.
"Compliment, my ass", Amanda growled as she crept closer to Darcy in a threatening way. She had already started to conjure a lightning bolt between her palms.
*This girl’s obviously unstable*, Icy thought. She prepared her ‘Ice Coffin’ spell just in case Darcy needed backup.
Amanda didn’t fail to notice this. "What? You wanna play, white bitch?", she hissed while focusing now on Icy.
"Listen you fairy wanna-be, you wanna dance? Let’s dance!", Icy yelled back.
Darcy held out her hand toward her two roommates. "Ladies, calm down! Let’s just talk about this."
Against her better judgment Icy lowered her hands, not wanting to offend Darcy.
"I’m done talking!", Amanda yelled as she threw her lightning bolt towards Icy.
Icy found herself thrown against the opposite wall. She wasn’t hurt badly, but was stunned. "You're dead, kitty!", she hissed.
Amanda started to prep another lightning spell, moving to strike once again.
Icy tried to get up, but she was struggling just to breath at the moment.
"Amanda, cut it out!", Darcy yelled. She rushed over to put Stormy in a headlock.
Icy barely managed to stand. She tried to conjure up her ‘Ice Coffin’ spell but her nerves were still tingling from Amanda’s attack and she was unable to do more than wobble about. She finally fell onto her bed. Her head felt like it was about to explode.
"LET ME GO, SEXPOT! DON’T TOUCH ME!", Amanda yelled. In her struggles the lightning bolt released and ricocheted across the room.
Icy managed to get back on her feet and attempted to stagger over to help Darcy. Darcy shook her head ‘no’. She was getting a little miffed at constantly being called a sexpot, but at the moment she was more concerned with stopping the fight. "Calm down and I’ll let you go! There’s no need for us to be fighting like this!"
Icy collapsed back onto her bed. "Just you wait, kitty. Once this wears off I’ll fix you good!"
"Can it, Icy. This isn’t the time!", Darcy yelled at the Ice Witch.
Icy glared at the blue-haired witch. She was still fuming, but did nothing as she wanted to make a good impression on the enchantress.
Amanda struggled a bit more, yelling a few more names before finally calming down and obeying the ‘Sexpot’.
Once Amanda stopped struggling, Darcy let go of her and stepped away. That proved to be a mistake. As soon as Amanda was free, she turned and punched Darcy in the stomach. "Don’t tell me what to do, bitch!" After letting out this final blow she flopped down on her bed. She carefully eyed the others, ready to counter if necessary.
Darcy clutched her stomach and doubled over on one knee. Though still rather numb, Icy leapt to Darcy’s defense. Rather than attacking Amanda she instead helped Darcy to her own bed which was further away than the enchantress's. After slipping Darcy underneath the covers she glared at Amanda. "Just stay on your side of the room, wiotch. Try anything else and you and kitty end up cooling somebody’s drink!"
Icy crawled under the covers next to Darcy and cuddled the enchantress, who was finally starting to breathe normally. Icy swore to herself she wasn’t going to try anything tonight, just comfort Darcy and try to protect her from their obviously deranged roommate.
Needless to say nobody in that room slept very soundly that night.
