“Oh. Evil one, we have news,” Apparitia drawled. “Eddie Spenser and that stupid gorilla have left Jake Kong alone at Ghost Command. The Bone-troller picked them up checking in at a ski resort in Vermont. The others are usually particularly vulnerable without their leader. Shall we go to Vermont and . . . deal with them?”

Prime Evil pondered this news for a moment. “You say everyone but Jake is out of town? What is Jake doing?”

“Well . . . nothing your nastiness. He just went home. We see him come out from time to time, but we’re still working on seeing inside the building.”

“Hmm. I see.” Prime Evil paced back and forth in front of his throne. “Watch him.”

“Your wretchedness?”

“Are you going deaf, witch? I said watch Jake Kong! ot aot attack the others! Jake is up to something and I want to know what it is!”

Apparitia paled and nodded her head vigorously. “Yes, my lord.” She departed hurriedly to relay his orders to Mysteria and Scared Stiff.
