Chapter 4 - Retaliation.
Lola surveyed the map of Ancient temple locations in what was once Rowain’s father's office. It had been less then a year from that eventful day when Rowain had pulled the trigger but Collin had not held it against him, Rowain was her cousin, a McDove through his mother .Nazan, one of her father’s most trusted friends sat across from her also looking at the map. She could not understand why her father trusted him though because he did not always enforce the rules. She was also grateful that he was Rowain’s legal guardian till he was old enough to fully take over Raven’s Court. Dive sat besides her giving the map dirty looks. As for Rowain he was looking out the window. Rowain glanced back at them as they scanned the map. “They won’t have her in this city, you know.” Nosedive glanced up at him. “How would you now?” Rowain replied. “Just call it my gut instinct on this one.” Nazan nodded, "It makes no sense for them to keep her captive right next to the main Necromancer temple, it is like putting a big kick me sign on them." “Indeed, which is why we need to consider the other temples in the other cities,” Lola stated, as she looked at the map as the cities which had an Ancient temple at, before flinging a pen into the wall in frustration. “There are too many temples. I’m going to have to ask for help.” Dive looked at her. “Help from whom, Lola?” “My father,” Lola replied. Nazan raised a brow. "You sure you want to do that? Every time you ask a favor you will have another chain holding you," Lola shot Nazan a nasty look. "Isn't that treason Nazan? My father wants me to be bound." Nazan sighed. "As Black Dove he needs you bound, as your father he wants you choose your own path. I knew your father long before he was Black Dove. He trusts me because I do what he wants and know what he has to decree under tradition." Lola looked at him. “I need the extra help, Nazan. There are over fifty temples I would have to search for Kala at. I need more hands searching for her.” "Shouldn’t you try to use Suscan resources?" "It would be bad for business. Suscan are seen as merchants on this world and it would be best to keep it that way. They associate bloodshed with Doves; it will not really bother people. The Ancients are known for putting their beaks where it does not belong." Nazan nodded. “Then, let us go see your father about this.” "What about the duckling?" Rowain asked, throwing his thumb at the kid. Dive stuck out his tongue. "I'll clear it with my mom. Just let me use a phone." Lola pointed to the videophone. Dive went to the video phone, typed in his mom’s phone number. “Hi mom, can I spend the night with Lola? She’s teaching me more about her people in space.” Tarisn looked at him. “As long as you behave yourself, you can spend the night with her.” "Can we make it two? I want to meet Lola's dad." Tarisn raised a brow. "No, one night." "Rowain will be there along with his guardian Nazan." Tarisn thought for a moment, “Is Nazan there?" Dive nodded and gestured for Nazan to come to the phone. "Nazan if I let Dive stay and meet Collin promise me that Dive will come home after." "You have nothing to worry about, I'll make sure that Dive will come home." “Do I have your word bond on that, Nazan?” Tarisn asked. “If he doesn’t come home, you better run into space and hide as I will come after you with everything I have.” "You have it." Tarisn turned her eyes to Dive. “You can spend two nights at Lola’s place, Nosedive and you better come home by dinner time.” “Yes, mom,” Tarisn smiled before locking eyes on Nazan. “I will hold you to your word, Nazan, or start making deposits at the bank, for you may not be having any offsprings.” And then the screen went dark. Nazan swallowed his spit. “She’s scary.” "Yeah, but that's because mom cares. But she really doesn't like Lola's dad." “I wonder why,” Rowain whispered, with a grin on his beak. Dive stuck his tongue out at Rowain. "Well mom says I can stay with you guys for a bit, so I get to meet Lola's dad." Nazan looked at Dive. “Dive, whatever he says, don’t show any weakness, he’ll deem you body bag material.” “NAZAN!” Lola and Rowain snapped at the same time. Nazan turned to look at them. “What? I am only telling him the truth.” "Not much different than with Lola's mom, Suscans don't like weakness." “And I guess the Doves are the same way?” Dive stated. Nazan nodded. "In some ways, more so," Dive nodded. "I'll do my best." Lola sighed. "Let’s go before Nazan tells him anything else he does not need to know." Rowain nodded as he shoved Nazan, only to get a dagger in his face and a smirk. “Come on, Lola’s dad is waiting.” They headed towards the airfield in the back of Raven’s Court. Nosedive made a comment about the jet. Rowain looked at him. “That is my family’s jet, Nosedive.” “So why are we flying? I thought her dad would be here?” Dive asked. Lola shook her head. "He normally stays in the capital, it's only a couple hours flight but it's like going into another world." Dive tilted his head in quandary. "How different?" "No real poverty or unemployment, and has seen a few rise and falls of avian civilization. They keep to tradition because that is what has made them outlast the others." “And it is warm,” Nazan added. “Really?” asked Dive. "You wouldn't think you’re on frozen Orithia any more." “Wow, lets go!” Dive said, cheerfully, as he grabbed Lola’s arm and tried to pull her to the plane. Lola laughed at his cheerful antics. “Okay, Dive, we’re coming.” It didn’t take too long for them to get onto the jet and get the engines roaring to life. Dive watched as the jet went into the sky and then towards the north. As much as he wanted to stay awake, he started to nod off in his seat. Nazan glanced at the kid. “He’s asleep now. Think I should wake him before we fly over Sunset Valley?” Lola nodded "I think he should see it, at least once in his life time. I know Wing never will." “Never say never, Lola,” Rowain said. “You said that about the Flashblades being a dead line . . . one that will never be in our lines again over fifteen years ago.” “I know I said that. I didn’t know that there was Flashblades still here on this planet.” Lola replied. “Didn’t you ever looked through your mom’s files?” Rowain asked. “No, not till after we had that encounter with Dive,” Lola replied. "You know Lola, your father actually paid the traditional dowry for Dive’s father. That is required under Suscan law for Catherine to allow Tarisn to marry him. Of course Collin wasn't the Black Dove back then. Though when Catherine asked him why he'd do that so easily without wanting them to become Doves, his answer was it was not good to keep an investment before it was ready. A Suscan answer, if I ever heard one. If he were to do something like that now though as Black Dove, there would be chains attached." Rowain glanced at them before focusing on the flight. He checked his map. He knew Nazan was making a joke as they flew towards Dublin. They were now getting really close to the separation of the outsiders and that area that marked Dove. “We’re getting close. You may want to get Dive up to see the change of scenery.” Nazan gave Dive a nudge. "Wake up little one, or you will miss Sunset Valley." The next thing that Nazan felt was a sharp bite on his hand as Dive woke up in a mood. Nazan giggled as Dive pulled his bill and mouth off of Nazan’s hand. “Nice bite, kid.” Lola glanced over to see Nazan shaking his hand and a red mark of a kid’s teeth on it. “You got bit?” "Yep, good instinct on the kid." he looked back to Dive. "Look out the window, you will see Sunset valley, it once belonged to a young girl named Asp." Dive had that look on his face, like he knew what that home belonged to. “That is a Flashblade home isn’t it?” as he turned to look at Nazan. Nazan turned quickly to look at Lola. “Did you tell him anything about that, Lola?” Lola shook her head. “Dive, how do you know it is a Flashblade home?” “It called out to me. I heard its voice.” Dive stated. Lola looked at him. “Flashblade blood calls to Flashblade blood. Even if I had doubts that he was not a Flashblade by blood, that house formally states it. He is a Flashblade.” “More like a Flash mouth, his bite smarts,” Nazan replied, still shaking his hand. “You knew better than stick your hand close to a Flashblade, Nazan.” Lola said. Nazan smiled warmly at Dive. "No Flashblade have set foot there for thousands of years, not since the last feud which had almost wiped them all out, the outer Flashblades survived until the Great War. We thought your family was dead and then your mother married your father. You and your brother are a seed of hope. But it is probably not wise for you to set foot there till you are older. Your mother would not forgive me otherwise," Nazan said gently in the voice of a teacher. Dive looked at it as the house and land grew distant in the window. “Maybe one day, I will step foot on it.” The jet landed about 20 minutes later in the main air field for Dublin Prime. Dive was amazed at how warm it was, the trees were huge, and looked ancient. It was like no other place on the planet; even his teachers had never mentioned a place like it. “I think Dublin Prime shocks our young Flashblade,” Rowain said, as he looked at Dive’s face. Dive nodded. "Well, where I live there is nothing like this. I know of the warm zones, teacher taught us that, but not here." Lola chuckled. "Here is not taught to outsiders. I'd show you around but unfortunately we are here on business." “We can do it another time.” Dive replied, as they headed towards McDove Castle. The castle was a sight to see, unlike the old tales it was built for times of war and was still to this day well guarded. Dive was starting to understand what offset people about the Doves. While the rest of the planet was use to peace, they were a nation where bloodshed was no uncommon. The image of the White Guards and how they had attacked his family and friends flashed though his mind along with the Necromancers that had been slain. It had been pointless bloodshed. Lola was his friend and she was of both worlds, she was not the type to do things without reason, he's figured that out quickly. so asking for help here would mean more bloodshed but would it prevent more needless bloodshed. Nazan patted him on the head. "You don't hide your thought very well child. But don't worry, when all is done there will be no more Ancient and no more White Guards." “And Kala?” Dive asked. "If she is still alive, she will be where she needs to be?" "Which means she will be my brother’s wife. I heard mom and Lola’s mom talking about it." Lola nodded. “If they have not slain her, one day, she will be your brother’s wife, but if they have slain her . . . their life is over and I mean over.” Dive stuck his tongue out at Nazan, "I just said that." Rowain grabbed his tongue between his fingers. “Dive, some manners will be needed. We’re here.” Dive yanked his tongue away from Rowain’s fingers and looked at the hallway that they stood in, it looked even older than the building itself. “So what now?” “Now, we go see my father. Stay behind me and by Nazan’s side, Dive.” Lola replied, as she went towards couple large doors and pushed them open to reveal the room within. Collin sat on his throne as matters of the realm were being presented to him, though dull were necessary, the worst of it was that there was still no sign of the birth rate stabilizing or increasing, just a steady decline except in the trade ranks. They needed new blood but new blood among the upper classes was rare. His father would never have considered it. He sighed Catherine had been the biggest exception. Unfortunately, his two daughters kept their distance. The doors to the Great Hall swung open, the inner lords on edge readied to draw their blades but stood at ease as his youngest daughter stepped forward along with Rowain, Nazan and a child. "What brings you about unannounced Lolita?" "I'm here on business and father it is Lola Seabird, I am not bound by your chains." "A Dove does not answer to a Suscan brat, you have ten seconds to give me a reason not to throw you in the dungeon." "Come on Lola, lets go he's just some big bully who doesn't care about people." Dive said tugging on Lola’s sleeve. Collin narrowed his eyes at the child. "And who are you to say such things?" Before Nazan could stop Dive, he stepped forward giving Collin as mean of a look he could muster. "Nosedive Flashblade, Lola came here for help to get back my big brother’s future wife." The tension in the room was thick, no one knew what Collin would do though to everyone’s surprise he laughed as he slapped his thighs with his hands. "You are a brave child, though maybe too much of your mother in you." Dive stuck out his tongue at Collin. "Nothing wrong with that," Lola shook her head. "Dive, didn't I tell you to behave yourself." "It's alright, daughter," he looked to Nosedive. "Stay here and you can have almost anything you could ever want." "Forget it old buzzard, I stand by Lola's side." Collin laughed hard. “You amuse me child.” He focused his attention on them all again. “So why are you four really here?” ”The White Guard has returned, father. They have kidnapped Dive’s older brother’s mate to be who is an untrained magic user. I need help in finding her.” Lola stated. “If you are not going to aid me, I’ll go to the Brotherhood of the Blade to get the help.” "Let me get this clear Lolita, you came to me with this business because it involves the future of the last of the Flashblade bloodline, even if it is indirect. Why would you trust me with this if you are being true to your Suscan blood?" "It's of the Dove’s interest to help, or would you rather loose that bit of hope? Wildwing and Kaladan are compatible, a promise of children that are genetically stable. The Doves are on the verge of loosing more bloodlines, and you have a chance to salvage one, new blood without breaking tradition." Collin thought for a moment before speaking. "I see, and what do you gain from this? As Suscan never bargains without also profit," "Despite our differences father, it is still in my interest to invest in the Doves. This is as much my investment as it is yours." Collin sat there looking at his daughter and then to the Flashblade child. “So the pairing between Tarisn and Staran produced two drakes, but no daughters?” “Our baby sister was birthed stillborn. They have not tried to have another since.” Nosedive stated. "And what of this mate to be, the hen called Kaladan? What line is she?" "She’s from the Thunderbeak line, a Nightshade bloodline." "The descendents of Death, what good would ever come of a match like that?" "What else, but a means of staying Death’s hand from wiping what remains of the line out." Collin went silent as he thought about what was said. It was another five minutes before he looked at her. “What do you need to help in the search for this Kaladan and to destroy the White Guards?” "Information and help, Dove living weapons," "Very well, use those of Raven’s Court, but they will remain under Nazan’s command." “Very well, thank you father.” Lola replied. “But Nosedive remains here,” Collin stated. “Never!” Nosedive snapped. “I will not stay here!” “Then, I will retract the offer to assist,” Collin replied, calmly. Dive’s eyes narrowed on Collin. The air in the room seemed to crackle with power. "If that is the path you choose, mine is with Lola, you were given a chance and thus foolishly waste it." "Then what will you do if Lola were to rule after me?" "I'd be hers to command. But only if she takes the throne." “Then, I will hold you to that and the offer is back on the table,” Collin said, after he sensed the power in room and it seemed to come from the young Flashblade. He will have to have someone watch him. Lola with Nazan by her side, quickly left the Great Hall. Once, away from the Hall, she turned to look at Dive. “Dive, how could you say such things?” "I don't know, it was just had to be said. I've felt a bit odd since we had passed over Sunset Valley." Lola looked at Nazan and Rowain. “Could it really be possible?” “Lola, what are you suggesting?” Rowain asked. “That seeing Sunset Valley . . . awakened his Dove blood, could it be possible that Dive is more Dove than we think?” Lola asked, as they walked back to the air field and the jet. “Anything is possible, Lola, anything is possible.” Nazan stated, as they climbed into their seats and prepared to return to Raven’s Court. He had to summon all living weapons within Raven’s Court to help with this fight to get Kaladan back and to destroy the White Guard. ~~~~~~~~ Once they got to Raven’s Court, Nazan opened the door to find himself facing a very angry Raptrin female. “How dare you run off like that leaving your office full of reports to be dealt with? It is bad enough that I have to tend to both of you without you running off playing the military brat all the time, Nazan!” “Cleo, I have a good explanation for this.” Nazan replied, holding his hands up in a show of no harm. “Well, get your tailfeathers in the office before I start chopping them off!” Cleo snapped, showing off her weapon in her hand. Nazan chuckled before heading off towards the stairs as Cleo turned to look at Rowain, Lola and Nosedive. He heard her voice ask, “Who is the kid?” before the door closed behind him. Rowain turned to look at Nosedive. “We might as well get you into one of the guest rooms for the time being.” Lola looked at Rowain. “More like the combat room with us. If there is the slightest chance that Dive could get into a battle, we need to have him with some time with a trainer.” Rowain laughed. "Well, the person I'd recommend Cleo has doing paperwork." Lola laughed as well as Dive looked at them. Dive spoke up. “I know how to fight.” Rowain looked at him. “I doubt that.” Lola led them both to the combat room where the door was open and the combat instructor was leaning against the wall waiting for his morning class to arrive. “Morning combat session is about to start, we can get him in it right now.” She turned her attention to the instructor. “Can you add one more to your group this morning, Torikan?” Torikan looked at her. “Sure, who is going to be in beginner combat?” ”Nosedive Flashblade,” Torikan looked at the kid who stood by Lola’s side. “He’s a Flashblade?” Lola nodded. “Never thought in all my years that I would finally meet a Flashblade,” He turned to look at the room. “If the kid is ready to learn, he better get his tailfeathers in the room and ready to learn?” Nosedive headed into the room as several other kids came into the room. Dive went to where Torikan and the other students were gathering the training room. Lola looked to Rowain. "I think I'll ask Tarisn for him to attend, he's made it clear he doesn’t belong to my father, but I think he's do well with the education from here. Wing, I'm afraid would be too innocent for it." “I agree with you there, that Flashblade doesn’t look like he could really take up arms when it comes down to it,” Rowain stated, as they both watched the start of the practice in the combat room. Lola watched as Nosedive was paired up with another beginner before she slipped away to go see his mother, this was going to be her personal investment in Nosedive as she knew that Dive had it in him to become a Dove but she wanted to see if he really wanted to be one of them when he got older. She went to Rowain’s room and used his video phone to dial Tarisn. When Tarisn answered she was a bit concerned to see Lola in front of her. "Everything is ok right?" "Everything is okay, Tarisn, Dive met my father and actually stood his ground. Father will not try and claim Dive. Not without pissing him off. Though I called to request that Dive transfers from his school over to Raven’s Court, I think he'd benefit from a trade class Dove education." Tarisn raised a brow. "Trade class? Those are Dove merchants, and skilled traders correct," Lola nodded. "Trade classes still learn self defense but are not expected to be weapons." "And what will it cost?" Tarisn asked. ”Nothing, Tarisn,” Lola stated. "I want to invest in Dive so that there is someone I can trust to watch my back when I get a ship of my own." Tarisn smiled. "I'm glad to hear that, though Dive will be coming home after school every night?" Lola nodded. "There is no need for him to stay in dorms." “Then, I see no reason to refuse since you are investing in my son. I will get him transferred over to Raven’s Court immediately.” Tarisn replied. She smiled. “So what did your old man say after my son told him off?” "Not much, but Dive left quite an impression even on my father." Lola paused. "Dive seems to have fragments of Dove abilities related to the Flashblade line, it showed briefly when he was telling my father off, it was enough to make it clear that Dive’s will is his own and father will not pursue him." “That’s my little boy,” Tarisn smiled. “I better head over to the school before the secretaries leave for the day and get his transcripts for transfer.” Lola smiled. “Alright, I’ll be outside waiting for you to arrive with the transfer papers.” "Take good care of Dive, Lola, I mean it." "Don't worry I'm Catherine’s child, after all." Tarisn smiled again as the video phone connection was disconnected. She hurried out of her home and headed for Dive’s school to get his papers so he could transfer over to Raven’s Court. Lola headed for the main door to sit and wait for Tarisn to come. Rowain followed her. “Cousin?” “I asked Tarisn if she would transfer Nosedive over here to learn,” Lola stated. “That’s not what you are thinking about . . . its finding Kaladan that has your mind’s attention,” Rowain replied. Lola chuckled. “Yes and no,” She looked at him. “I want to find her quickly, Rowain, for Wing’s sake and her own.” "Then why get the kid to transfer while we are still need to search?" "What he pulled on my father is why, would you really want that to get loose in a normal Orithian school?" Rowain shook his head. “No, it's as bad as with Kaladan isn't it?" Lola nodded. "Kaladan may or may not be a pillar. Dive may or may not be the master of Sunset Valley. Either way those two need to be directed and watched otherwise there could be trouble." “Very well, but we should start searching while Dive is busy in class,” Rowain replied. “I know, I’m waiting for his mother to come with the transfer papers to make it official,” Lola said, as she looked at the street. “You should be in class or at least observing Nazan doing his papers that one day will be yours to do?” Rowain smiled. “I know, but I have time to learn that aspect of my role here.” "You really do like the slack off don’t you?" "What about you who runs from the responsibility?" Lola slapped his arm. “Be thankful that I don’t slash you up with my dagger, Ro.” Rowain laughed. “I’m serious here, Ro! You love to slack off, at least I have responsibility.” “To whom?” Rowain asked. “Myself,” Lola stated. "Wouldn't I have the same excuse?" "You’re not Suscan, so it would be odd for you to use that one?" "How is being responsible for yourself a Suscan thing?" "I need to take of myself so that I can invest in others." “Invest? Like having the kid transferred here?" "Yeah, he'd be wasted in a normal school." “Plus he’ll be observed by the other Doves,” Rowain stated, as he took notice of Tarisn walking from the bus stop. “She’s here.” Lola turned to see Tarisn walking towards the school waiting for the light to turn before crossing the street to their gate and walked within the school grounds. Lola stood up and walked over to her. Tarisn smiled as she handed the transcripts over to Lola. “Dive’s school papers to finalize his transfer over to this school, Lola.” "Thanks, I know it's not guild but has just as much weight if he wants to ever pursue work in space." "There is something else on your mind Lola, other then Dive." "Kaladan has been kidnapped by the Ancients as far as I can tell the White Guard slaughtered her necromancer guards. So once I hand these over to Nazan to process it's going to be systematically go though each temple." “Do you need my help searching for her?” Tarisn asked. "No, I've managed to get use of the living weapons." "Why would he let you use those?" "She's to be Wildwing’s mate. Even if Wing is not Dove he's treating it like a white band situation." “That is good at least he is not demanding that my family comes to Dublin and become Doves.” Tarisn stated. She looked over at Rowain, who approached them. “You better keep her back safe, Rowain, or your tailfeathers will be feeling my hand.” "No worries Mrs. Flashblade, I'll watch her back." Rowain said mockingly in the tone of a child who had just been scolded. She smiled as she ran her hand over his hair and then grabbed the back of his neck. She glared into his red eyes. “You better and you better find Kaladan safe and unharmed by those bastards too.” “I promise you, we will find her and make them pay for what they did,” Rowain replied. Tarisn let go of his neck. “Good. Now you two better go find her. I got grocery shopping to do.” And with that said, she walked away from them. Rowain turned to look at Lola. “Let’s get searching for Kala now.” Lola nodded as she walked back into the building and headed for the headmaster’s office. She knocked and then entered to see Nazan going through paperwork. “I want to enroll another student into the current school year, Nazan,” Nazan looked up as he stopped writing the report on one of the students. “Who would that be?” "Nosedive, I already got his transcripts and Tarisn’s permission." Nazan took the folder from her and examined it. “He is good in his early schooling but he’s not up to date on a few of the studies that the Dove children have. He’ll need a tutor.” "That's fine he's quick to learn." Nazan nodded as he looked at Dive’s school records. “Give me a few minutes to write out his classes . . . actually, this job should be Rowain’s. He’ll put Nosedive in the classes which will help him.” Rowain looked at him shocked that he was given it instead of him doing it himself. “Why me?” “It is time for you to start taking on more responsibility as the future headmaster of this school, Rowain.” Nazan stated. “I am not going to be here for long to be the headmaster of your location and it is time for you to take over very soon.” “He got you there, Rowain.” Lola smirked. "Fine, I was hoping for a few more years unchained." Nazan smiled gently. "Chains are what you make of them, even a caged bird will sooner or later learn to pick the lock." Something said in his voice said something more to Rowain. “Have you picked your lock, Nazan?” "I have gotten ahold of my key." "But shouldn't the Shadow come for you?" "Funny thing is, Rowain, one Shadow is my student, the other tries not to be. Learn what you need to learn and you will find your own key." Rowain reluctantly nodded, Nazan knew that if Rowain had his way he'd leave and never come back. He couldn't blame the child after what Rowain’s father had done. Rowain had killed him but if he had not been there Rowain would have pulled the trigger on himself as well. It had been a decade since then and Rowain seemed to have come to terms with it he hoped. Rowain went to the smaller desk Nazan had kept in the office and sat down at it going over the transcript and looking over the classes available for the rest of the semester. It took him only about twenty minutes to finish it up and hand it back to Nazan who looked it over. "You sure about this set of classes, Rowain? I thought he'd be trained in trade class lessons." "He's a Flashblade, he should learn the same things as anyone of his rank even if he is unchained. You’re not going to let me slack why should I let him?" “Now that is a headmaster of Raven’s Court mindset.” Nazan replied, with a smile on his beak. “Now you better head off to where the kid is and give him his classes.” Rowain nodded, as he hurried out of the office to where the combat lessons were at as he watched Dive work on the moves that the students were working on at the moment. The end of class was coming soon and he’ll be able to take Dive to his next class. The instructor made the students practice their moves before walking over to Rowain while still keeping an eye on the class. "I hope the Flashblade kid is in council rank classes, he's making my trade rank students nervous." “He is in council rank, I didn’t get his school records and figured out his placement in school here,” Rowain stated, as he looked at the instructor. “So, he’ll be going to school here?” The instructor asked. “Yes,” Rowain replied. He turned to look at the students. “How nervous are they?” "Well he's a Flashblade, it has the same feel as raising your hand against a Shadow, something that normally would get you killed.” Rowain laughed as he looked at the students. “Don’t worry about getting killed by him, consider him for the moment to be like you a Trade ranked student, till the end of class that is.” The students looked at Rowain and then to Dive before nodding their heads and allowed their guard to be lowered for a bit. Rowain turned to look at the instructor. “Council class combat is next class, correct?” "Yeah, I think he'll learn better among them, speaking as someone from the trade ranks Rowain, the Flashblade kid even makes me nervous. You can feel his Dove magic ebb and flow as it helps teach him along with him listening to instructions." “Lola was right to have him enroll here. Teach him well,” Rowain said. The instructor nodded. “He’ll be well trained. I must get back to my students now.” Rowain watched for a moment before heading back to the office to see Lola and Nazan looking at the map of Keltor. “He’s spooking the trade rank students.” Lola nodded. "It's that strong?" "Yeah," Rowain said as he looked over the map. “I'm willing to bet the temple in DuCaine Metro they have always had a strong hold there.” Nazan looked at Rowain. “Want to wager on that fact, Rowain?” “You know we’re not allowed to gamble,” Rowain said. He smiled. “Well, the wager will be something that I doubt that Lord Collin will frown upon.” “Well, in that case, sure, lets wager,” Rowain replied, he never knew that Nazan had in mind making Rowain take on more responsibility at the school if he won the wager. Lola noticed the smirk on Nazan’s bill as he shook Rowain’s hand. The bet that Kala would be found in the stronghold of DuCaine Metro was Rowain’s guess and that if Nazan’s guess at another stronghold was correct, it will be a very interesting time for the school. "Alright Nazan what is your suspicion." "If they are expecting retaliation, then DuCaine Metro would be the place to take her. But at the same time it would not be. A more remote temple where we would not think to look first but easy enough for them to guard would be a good idea. They think they will either be taking on Suscans or Necromancers, they’re not prepared for a Dove assault." “That is correct. They would expect a force of Necromancers or Suscans but not the Living Weapons of the Doves,” Lola stated. She looked at the map and pointed to a location further away from Keltor but isolated. “That is the most likely spot that they would have her at.” “When shall we attack?” Rowain asked, as he cracked his knuckles as one of the Necromancer Guards that were killed was one of his friends. "As soon as Nazan has the weapons authorized?" Nazan had a knowing grin. "They’re prepping as we plan." Rowain nodded, “So by tonight, we will be attacking the location?” “Yes and they will have no defense against us,” Lola replied. “So will you be using Dove weapons or your Suscan weapons, Lola?” asked Nazan. "Both, it will involve both. My mother and father’s interests, mother because she is an investment, fathers to try and restore the Flashblade bloodline." “Very well, go and get prepared, we will leave as soon as the weapons are ready,” Nazan stated, he glanced behind him to see Rowain standing there. “You too, you better go get your weapons and prepare.” Rowain nodded as he rushed out of the office towards his personal chambers. ~~~~~~~ It was not long before the weapons were standing at the airfield, Lola and Rowain was informing them what they were going after and who they were to be rescuing from the Ancients. Though some seemed a bit at odds with the mission, they were not about to question it since Nazan was mobilizing them with the Black Doves permission and the two young McDove coming along. In the class overlooking the airfield, Nosedive watched as they started to file into the jet, he looked at the teacher with her back to them, he dashed out of the classroom and ran for the airfield when a hand grabbed him and flung him to the ground and a knee was hard pressed in his back. “Not so fast, Nosedive, you will not be going anywhere but back to your classroom,” the voice whispered in his ear. "But I want to go with them." "You can go when you can hold your own and kill in cold blood. Just because Lolita and Rowain are soft on you, does not mean that I will be. Now back to class." Nosedive grumbled about not being able to go as Cleo escorted him back to class as the teacher watched him reenter the classroom. “Thank you Cleo,” The teacher looked at him as he walked to his seat glaring back at Cleo. “She is probably the best one to have caught you, young Flashblade. If it was Nazan who caught you trying to get to the jet, your tailfeathers would be very sore.” “I doubt it.” Nosedive replied. The teacher shook her head. "Young Flashblade, you should be setting the example for your other classmates and pay attention. You are a child of one of the three Dove ruling houses if you slack off then it is like telling the others below you that it is alright to slack off. Which I'm sure your peers such as Lolita and Rowain should disapprove of." Dive bit his lower beak, what the teacher said was not fair. He had told Lola’s father off but here it was like it did not matter and that Lola and Rowain never told him he was from a ruling family but from the expression on the teacher’s face and the way the class was looking at him he could feel the pressure on him. It wasn't the same as with the adults, here whatever he did would have an impact. It wasn't that he didn't like to study, he just wanted to help. Cleo’s words echoed in his mind. He'd have to learn and be as good as an academic as he'd have to be a fighter. He looked back at the teacher. “My apologies teacher, I had not realized my actions would have such an impact on the class. This is my first time in a Dove school. Please forgive my lack of knowing." The teacher smiled and started the lessons again, this time making sure that Nosedive was pulled into reading several passages. The day went by fairly quickly, Dive was amazed at how different the lessons were from the school he had attended. He was glad Lola had taken the time to teach him Raptrin and Suscan but he was finding that what he knew was behind the other students his age. His math was pretty good but here it was not as easy as in his old school. There were political studies, which his old school never covered just like armed and unarmed combat. Gym wasn't even the same, the sports were Raptrin or Suscan. Back at his old school he was always an above average student, here he was barely hitting the surface. He'd have to study hard. Some of the other kids took it upon themselves to start teasing him for his pathetic showing in gym class or one of the other classes. A blacked scaled Saurian boy bopped a few of the students on the head for teasing Dive. "Give the little Shadow a break, like he said he's been raised as an outsider. Don't expect him to be how he is suppose to be right away. After all the little black hatchling is living like a Suscan. My mom says we need to learn of the outside and their ways as well as our own if we want to be strong in this universe." The kids that had been teasing Dive backed off. The black Saurian kid went over to him. "I'm Tensu Silverclaw. Try not to let them get to you." Dive smiled. “Thanks, I was about to make them regret teasing me by reporting them to the headmaster. That’s what my mom told me to do if I was teased or bullied here.” “Wise mother you have, Dive. Is she the Flashblade or your father?” Tensu asked. “My father is the Flashblade, my mom isn’t a Flashblade by blood.” Dive replied. “So where is your father?” "My father spends most of his time in administration at the military base. Here in Keltor. He's looking to retire from the military in few years." Tensu nodded. "He's lives as a regular Orithian then. How about your mother then, what family is she from?" "Blackblade, she worked for Catherine Seabird, Lola's mom." "Ah, the Black Dove’s wife, I see, well that makes sense why you are not completely lost here." ”Well, I did have help from Lola,” Dive replied. "If you want I can help you with your studies. My family lives in Silver Valley in the mountains so I'm stuck here in dorms." “Well, I live in Keltor so I’m not stuck at here,” Dive said as he looked at the clock to see if there was a possibility of spending some extra time at school without causing problems at home. He smiled. “I might see about staying after school, if it is okay with my mom for a few hours before night falls for extra study so I’m not so behind the others.” Tensu took him to the library there they studied till Dive had to go home. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The next morning came, as Kala sat at the table reading the scrolls when she heard the door open as the Supreme Ancient entered the chamber, sealing the room to noise and to prevent her from escaping. “Kala, come to my side. The time for the sacrament is at hand,” the Supreme Ancient spoke as he pulled off his robe revealing his naked form and his growing erection. Kala nodded as she pulled off her robe and knelt before him and performed the first part of the sacrament. She got him erect fast and spilling his white goo all over her face and chest to which he was rubbing. He informed her to go onto her bed and prepare for the second part of the sacrament. He watched as she present herself on the bed, he ran his hands over her folds and started to stroke her inner folds when a noise distracted him. The banging on the chamber door pulled the Supreme Ancient from his pleasure as he told Kala to wait as he grabbed his robe and went to the door to see an apprentice standing there. “What’s wrong?” “They destroyed the DuCaine Metro temple,” the apprentice stated. “They’re coming for her.” "Who attacked the temple?" "The Doves. Everyone of our order was wiped out." "I see, keep me informed but do not disturb my tutoring of my apprentice." “Forgive me,” the apprentice whispered as the Supreme Ancient told him he will be punished later, as the door closed. The Supreme Ancient turned back to Kaladan who waited patiently for him. He walked back to her and started to stroke her inner folds as he stroked his penis back to being erect. When he was satisfied that his erection was hard enough to enter her inner folds without problems, he slid his penis within her and started to thrust deep within her. She started to thrust back against his thrusts as he pushed in, stroking his member with each thrust that he did. It was thirty minutes later, he was filling her with his goo. It was done much faster than he had done the night before as he pulled out of her still dripping his goo before having her finish him fully off. “Good hen, very good,” The Supreme Ancient whispered as he ran his hand over her head. “I will return tonight for the evening sacrament.” Kala smiled as she watched him pull on his robe and walk out of the chamber. She wondered what the interruption was about. She went back to her scrolls, knowing if it was important that he would tell her. It was in the afternoon the Supreme Ancient sat at his desk as he read the reports, Kala was under his desk performing her sacrament practice. “We need to figure out a way to hide the hen, for if they come here. They’ll find her. We need to send her somewhere else and yet make sure that she will return to us,” one of the council members said not knowing that Kala was there under the desk. “What about that renegade in the wastelands?” another council member suggested. “Yes, that is a good idea and sending the hen if she survives, the Necromancers will have lost their Pillar since she’ll be fully an Ancient when she returns.” The Supreme Ancient spoke, while with a hand under the desk holding Kala’s head still so that he did not give away she was there. “I will take her as my official mate when I formally accept her as a full member. Then, I will take her first and after that, she will accept every single Ancient within this temple as her mating partner.” The two council members looked at him shocked. “You mean you will let them take her and then tell her she’s one of us?” “She will be one of us when it happens, she should be able to accept every single one of our erections within her warmth to be the lady of the Ancients,” the Supreme Ancient said. “But after she’s done with them all, she will be mine forevermore as the one who will take her with the sacrament from our founding.” The council members nodded and a bit surprised as they left the Supreme Ancient to finish his work. He let go of Kala’s head and smiled down to her. “We will be doing a little extra practice today, come onto my desk and take the position for the second part of the sacrament.” Kala wanted to say no and run way after what she had heard, but she was to be his mate she would have to in the end anyhow. She got up from under the desk and let her robes fall to the floor as she went on all fours on his desk, holding onto the edge of the desk as he took her till he was completely satisfied.
