Pillow talkishness and feelings.
Monique was laying in the bed at Shego’s cabin, reading her Human magazine, and humming quietly to herself.
“Mmm, baby, you know I love those glasses on you,” Shego purred as she climbed into the bed, resting her head on her lover’s shoulder and scanning briefly the article she was reading.
“Yeah yeah… I know all about your librarian fetish, girl,” the shorter woman smirked at her playmate and turned the page.
“I can’t help it, you’re so fucking good with costumes!” Shego whined softly, turning the page back a moment and eliciting a frustrated huff from her bedmate. Smirking, and having done it more to get a reaction than to actually read anything, she paused, and then turned the page forward again.
“Yeah, well these aren’t for play, and you know that… so get your fingers out of your lap.” Monique laughed softly.
The emerald woman giggled coquettishly, and made a show of withdrawing her hands from under the covers, even though all she had been doing was scratching a cut on her thigh. “Spoil sport!”
Something in the magazine article caught Monique’s eye and got her brain working. With a small frown of consideration, she closed the magazine and turned to look at Shego. “Say… I’ve been wondering something.”
“If it’s about that pony tail plug, forget it. That thing gives me a rash.”
“No!” Monique squawked and bapped her lover on the head with the magazine, “Though I’ll keep that in mind. No… I was wondering about some of the stuff you said about Ron the other day.”
“Oh?” a small frown creased Shego’s brow, and she tried to ignore it. She had brought Mocha up here specifically to get away from the soap opera that was Kim and Ron’s current status. She did not want to talk about it after relaxing in the wilderness all afternoon and finally getting away from it.
“Yeah, you said some pretty accurate things about my boy, you know.” The dark girl arched a brow at her alabaster paramour.
“What? You’re not still upset because I can see his point of view, are you?” Shego snorted lightly, crossing her arms over her chest.
“No…” Monique pursed her lips softly. “You’re right, sex does go both ways. I meant when you called him a nice guy who’s in demand.”
Shego swallowed, this conversation wasn’t about Kimmie’s soap opera… no, it was much worse. “What about it?”
“I’m just saying, it was a considered, and well thought out way to describe Baby Boy’s situation. Especially that bit about what you’d have him thinking while chained to your wall.”
“Mmmhm?” Shego supplied noncomittaly.
“Do you-,” Monique sighed softly, “Do you think about him?”
“No!”
“Shego…”
Sighing, Shego layed back against her pillow and stared at the logs making up part of her ceiling. After a long moment, she let go a breath and shrugged a bit. “Okay, maybe, once in a while, late at night, like all bad girls, I wonder about the good boys, okay?”
“Mmhm? But Ron specifically?” Monique probed cautiously.
Sighing again, the emerald woman closed her eyes, trying to order her argument. Finally, she opened them again. “You didn’t grow up in Middleton, did you?”
“Nope… Moved here just before Junior Year.” Monique nodded and studied the face of her fiery lover as she spoke.
“So you don’t remember Kim and Ron before all that stupid-headed will-they-won’t-they shit.” Shego looked over to Monique a moment, reaching up and removing her glasses. She lay back again, lightly toying with the corrective eyewear as she again looked to the sky.
“When they were like fifteen or sixteen or so, they were tight, but there wasn’t all that sexual tension between them. Kim wanted that pretty artsy boy; and Ron, well, he ~thought~ he was a serious stud. They really didn’t give a shit about who the other was interested in.”
“Ah… I think Ron took serious issue with Josh, actually,” Monique tried to correct.
“Actually, I think that was more because Ron doesn’t think like the rest of the world than because he was jealous,” Shego nodded to the air.
“And how do you know all this? Not like you’re a Middleton Alum neither… and don’t tell me it’s because of that weird connection you and Boo have, neither.”
Shego chuckled lightly. “Even if it was, I didn’t need all that. I fought them on a daily basis, plus, of course, there was the whole ‘knowing your enemy’ thing that any good villain does. Anyways…”
Taking a breath, Shego plunged into her diatribe, closing her eyes. “Way back when, in the beginning, Ronnie boy had a bit of a crush on the Wonder Witch you see before you.”
“What?!” Monique openly disbelieved. “That boy ~still~ pisses his pants occasionally when you walk into a room. When did he ever think of you as anything other than a killing machine?”
Shego laughed softly, shaking her head, “Well, you tie a guy to a death ray a few dozen times, it tends to change his outlook. But seriously… I caught him checking out my ass more than once in the good old days, and doing that stupid ‘woof’ sound men make when they see something they want.”
Monique merely favored her lover with an arched brow for a moment. Finally, “And why the hell would he do that any way?”
“Oh, do the math Stephen Hawking!” Shego snorted and shook her head. “Fifteen year old boy, hormones, dangerous situations; and a deliciously sexy older woman, parading around in front of him in a skin tight catsuit.”
“…and Ron’s general weakness for tough women…” Monique finally supplied. “Yeah… I guess I can see it now.”
Sighing gently, still toying with the frames of Monique’s glasses, the pale woman nodded. “So, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy that a little… and that I never once entertained a thought of seducing him away from Kimmie.”
After a long, quiet moment, Shego looked to her patner and arched a brow, “Now, your turn.”
“My turn what?”
“Ahem,” Shego cleared her throat, and then gave a disturbingly accurate impression of Monique, “Don’t worry Kimmie cat. I knew about five minutes after I met you that you wouldn’t go that way. Even if I would love to invite you to.”
“You and those God-damned ears of yours.” The caramel skinned woman snorted, snatching her glasses away from Shego.
“What? I spent four years paranoid of someone sneaking into, and then blowing up, my home. You tend to listen pretty keenly when you’re living that life!” Shego shot back.
Breathing out, and laying back as well, mimicking Shego’s thinking pose, Monique set her glasses aside. “Fine. Look, like I told Kim, I’ve always known I wasn’t strictly… straight.”
“Oh please, you’re kinkier than a broken Slinky.”
“You want to hear this or not?”
Shego wasn’t sure she did, but she nodded. Reaching over, she lightly caressed the back of Monique’s hand, rubbing the pulse point to attempt to sooth her. When the wild child didn’t resume, Shego quietly prompted, “So you checked her out when you first met her…”
“Yes!” She groaned, reluctantly letting go of her feelings about her redheaded friend. “Look, she was fifteen, I was sixteen; she was a world famous hero, always doing dangerous things.”
“And she had an ass you could bounce a roll of quarters off of and make change with,” Shego supplied.
“So not helping me open up here… Shego” Monique sighed, rubbing the bridge of her nose.
“Sorry,” she apologized softly, “Please, go on.”
“But yes, she did,” the speaker smirked softly. “Anyways, like I told her… I didn’t know I was wicked until I met you. But I did know that the boys I had tried being more than friends with bored the shit out of me. Here’s this girl, most gorgeous thing I ever saw outside of a Club Banana catalogue, who does dangerous crap as a hobby.”
Shego frowned and tried not to fidget. She didn’t like the look on Monique’s face as she recalled this stuff, or the timber in her voice. Finally, she prompted, “But five minutes after you met her…”
“Yeah… after talking to her for five minutes, I realized she would never even think of being anything more than friends with me.” Monique sighed softly, squeezing Shego’s hand. “But, then again, most of the week I was getting to know her, was spent dealing with a nine foot tall mystical Jackal, so that at least helped make up for the ‘straight as daddy’s bench level’ thing.”
After a few minutes of heavy silence, Monique turned to look at her bedmate. “So, what do you think this means?”
Shego watched the dark eyes of her deviant bed mate and smiled after a moment. “What? That we occasionally think about our friends?”
“Mmhm?”
“Not much. Really Mocha My Heart, think about it. If we weren’t compatible with them… if we didn’t enjoy their presence in our lives and doing things with them, would they be our friends?”
The darker of the two women watched her pale partner’s face for signs of dissembling for a long moment, and then laughed softly. “Okay, I’m glad. I’m also glad to know I’m not the only one who thinks about my best friend’s ass and how it would look in red leather.”
“Mocha… I think half the planet thinks that about Kimmie. But no, I’m not about to hold that over your head since I’m guilty of wondering, once in a blue moon, about people other than you as well.” She turned and caressed her fingers slowly through Monique’s wavy hair. “Like I said, We like ‘em, but we love each other. And I don’t know about Ron, but I think Kim would run screaming to the hills if I you or I so much as hinted we might like to share our sheets with them from time to time.”
“Yeah, good point… Girl’s so tightly wound she might just snap and try to take over the world.” Monique chuckled softly, nuzzling into Shego’s warm palm and closing her eyes.
“…”
“…”
“But we do want that, don’t we?”
“Kim taking over the world?”
“No…”
“I wouldn’t mind it.”
“Neither would I.”
