Louise stood outside Millie's house holding her hand as she waited for her dad to arrive to pick her up. She adjusted her bunny ear on her head and shared a smile with Mille. It felt weird going from Millie's house straight to a movie date with Rudy, but it was easier for everyone involved. Louise's dad pulled up, and Louise gave Millie a goodbye hug as she ran to get into the car.
Bob looked over and saw that his daughter was wearing a different dress than her normal green one and that she was trying to look nice. He said nothing as he pulled away, driving towards the movie theatre downtown.
Bob pulled up in front of the theatre and gave Louise some money for her ticket and snacks. Louise said goodbye to her dad and ran up to meet Rudy, who was waiting off to the side of the movie line.
Rudy chose the movie, and they were seeing the newest Marvel movie. It wasn't Louise's cup of tea, but she didn't care as long as she was with Rudy.
The two of them paid for their tickets and got into the snack line. As they waited in line, Rudy started talking about how excited he was to see the movie and how much he had been looking forward to it. Louise listened politely to her boyfriend and smiled. Walking up to the counter, Louise had a smile on her face as she ordered her drink and a snack.
After ordering their snacks and soda, they made their way to their theatre room and found seats. They sat quietly through the previews before the movie began, neither saying anything. Finally, after what seemed like hours, the movie started.
Louise and Millie's friendship seems very close, and it's nice to see that Louise's dad is supportive of her relationship with Rudy. It's also interesting to note that Louise is willing to go outside of her comfort zone by seeing a Marvel movie with Rudy, even though it's not her cup of tea.
The two of them seem to be having a good time together, and they're both excited to see the movie.
Rudy cheered with the rest of the audience as Captain America walked into the frame, excitedly exclaiming, "Yes, Cap!" Louise couldn't help but smile at Rudy's enthusiasm, even though she didn't fully understand the significance of the character. She leaned in closer to Rudy, feeling the warmth of his presence next to her. As the movie progressed, Louise found herself getting more engrossed in the action and becoming caught up in the cheering and excitement of the audience.
During the intense fight scenes, Rudy would grab Louise's hand, and she would hold onto him tightly, feeling safe and connected at that moment. It was a different experience for Louise, but being able to share these moments with Rudy made it all worthwhile.
It's nice to see that Louise isn't nervous about spending time with Rudy because of her physical limitations, but that she's instead focusing on the new experiences they can have together.
over to Louise whispered over Rudy. "Is Howard Stark Tony's dad?". She asked as Tony was trying to get the space stone during the time heist. Rudy gave her an odd look. "Yea, he is". "How come I've never heard of him?"
ManShe asked, now not so quiet. "I guess you just don't know much about Iran, Man, huh?". "I just never heard of Hadd ad, I've watched the Iron Man movies with my dad." I don't think Howard was in them.
"Howard Strong was one of Steven Rogers's good friends and helped create the Super Soldier serum. We wouldn't have Captain America if it wasn't for Tony's dad," Rudy whispered.
Louise turned and looked back at the screen. Bruce Banner was trying to get the time stone from the ancient one, who denied giving up the stone, but Bruce promised to return the stone when they were done. After receiving the last stone, the Avengers returned to the present. Preparing for the final battle with Thanos.
After rigging one of Iron's arm blasters to use the stones, they brought back everyone who had originally disappeared by Thanos's first snap. Magical portals opened up behind the main Avengers team, and with their allies flooding out, they fought Thanos's forces and secured their victory.
As the movie came to its climax, Louise realized that she had genuinely enjoyed herself. She may not have been a die-hard Marvel fan like Rudy, but being able to witness his passion and share in his excitement had brought them closer together. After the movie, they discussed their favorite scenes and theories about what might happen next in the Marvel universe.
Louise realized that sometimes stepping outside of her comfort zone and trying new things could lead to unexpected happiness and connection. She felt grateful to Rudy for introducing her to something new and for being patient and understanding as she embraced it.
They still had some time before Louise's dad came to pick them up. Rudy took Louise by the hand towards the arcade and found a game that the two of them could play together.
They started to play and each won a few games, then finally Louise ended up beating him. He didn't seem upset and held out his hand, congratulating her on winning.
The two found one of those zombie shooting games with gun controllers; Louise was player one, while Rudy was player two. The two put their hands on the controllers and began to move. They pulled the trigger and sprayed bullets at the undead, both trying to get a higher score.
They eventually got to the tough boss, but they figured out how to defeat him and win the game. Louise looked at the emergency phone her father left her and saw a text from her dad; he was outside waiting for the two of them.
Louise and Rudy walked outside the theatre and climbed into Mr. Belcher's car. How about I take you two to get some ice cream? Bob asked his daughter and Rudy with a smile. "That sounds good to Louise, she said, looking at Rudy, who nodded his approval. "Great, there's a new ice cream shop just up the road. Mr. Belcher said to pull into traffic.
The three of them piled out of the car and headed to the new ice cream place. It was a small local ice cream shop that was located just up the street. There were a lot of people inside." Mr. Belcher pointed to the place. "I'm going to park the car. You two pick out your ice cream," Mr. Belcher said, walking out of the shop to park the car.
Louise looked over the flavors they had and chose mint chocolate chip, which was her favorite. Rudy got plain vanilla due to his allergies. Louise handed the teller the money and sat down at a table with Rudy.
"So what did you think about the movie?" Rudy asked. Louise turned and smiled and leaned over the table, taking a spoonful of ice cream. "It was pretty good. I didn't know most of the characters, but it was still fun".
"In the comics, the Fantastic Four and the X-Men joined in on the battle against Thanos, and Captain Marvel killed Thanos," Rudy said, taking a bite of his ice cream.
"The X-Men? Do you mean like Wolverine and Storm?"Louise asked, confused. Taking another bite of her ice cream. "Yeah, exactly," Rudy replied with a chuckle.
"Who plays Loki? He looks familiar," Louise asked, finishing her ice cream. "It's Tom Hiddleston; he's a very famous actor," Rudy replied.
"What does Hawkeye bring to the team? He's just a guy with a bow, right? Louise asked. " Well, in the comics, Hawkeye is more like an archer spy or something. He took a small dose of the Super Soldier serum, which made him kind of like Steve Rogers.
His bow is specially made; he is very accurate with his bow and rarely misses, which makes him useful for stealth missions". Rudy said he was finishing his ice cream.
"You sure know a lot about Marvel comics, don't you, Rudy?" Louise asked, smiling at her boyfriend. "It's a great way to pass the time," Rudy answered.
"Tell me about Captain America," Louise said, throwing away her trash. "He's the best! Captain America is a war hero. After being shot multiple times in combat, he receives experimental surgery, which gives him superhuman strength and endurance.
Captain America gained an unbreakable shield made out of vibranium. He was given some kind of serum that improved his physical abilities". Rudy explained.
Louise nodded. "Oh cool. Now you can give me the rundown on all the other Marvel superheroes".
Rudy grinned "Iron Man, also known as Tony Stark, is a billionaire playboy who owns Stark Industries. He created the Mark One Iron Man suit when he was kidnapped by a group of bad people. After making his way back to the United States, Tony made the decision to no longer make weapons, and he started using his Iron Man suit for good, to protect people from harm".
"Tell me more about Iron Man. Who are his villains? How did he make the suit we saw in the movie? What is the Hulk Buster armor used for?" Louise asked.
"The Hulk buster armor was used as a stand-type situation in case the Hulk gets out of hand. This armor gives Iron Man enhanced strength and durability, so he can handle anything the Hulk throws at him", Rudy explained.
"How did Bruce become the Hulk?" Louise is now invested in these characters.
"In the original comics, Bruce Banner was a scientist working on gamma radiation. He accidentally mutated himself during an experiment when the gamma rays made him turn green and turn into the Hulk", Rudy explained.
"Now Thor is a special case; he is the Norse god of thunder and is from Asgard. Thor is also very strong, thanks to the mystical hammer named Mjolnir. He is always getting into adventures". Rudy explained.
"Tell me about some of your interests; you're into Japanese culture, right? Rudy asked, smiling at his girlfriend.
"I've been studying the ancient samurai. The samurai were warriors, trained to fight, and were some of Japan's greatest warriors.
Samurais lived by the code of bushido, a set of rules that taught discipline and honor. They were trained to use every weapon, from swords to bows and arrows.
Some samurai would go through years of training before they even began their training. Samurai skills were passed down from teacher to student through the generations." Louise said it excitedly. There's this cool manga set in that period about a man from our time being accidentally sent there.
He spent years training and learning the way of the samurai, adding a bit of a modern twist to his armor and his sword. He made a way to electrify his sword with electricity, and his armor has wheels for ease of movement and to be more maneuverable in his battles."
He eventually made his way to the lair of the evil warlord shogun, the man who brought him to this timeline. Now this warlord is planning on taking over Japan. This guy is pretty intense! He found some of the protagonist's blueprints and made modifications to his army's armor.
It took years of hard work, but he finally managed to defeat him". The warlord didn't fully understand the future technology he found, but he made use of it.The protagonist was hired by the emperor himself to defeat the warlord. The protagonist lost the first battle and was critically injured, losing his left leg and replacing it with a new mechanical leg.
While trying to find his comrades, a woman appeared and helped them escape; she also informed him of what happened to his friends". Louise finished explaining the story.
"The author is still writing it, but season one of an anime adaptation comes out in December," Louise continued. "We should watch the anime together when it comes out," Rudy suggested. "Sounds like fun," Louise said, looking towards the door as her father walked into the ice cream shop. "Traffic out there is a nightmare. I finally found a parking spot. "Today is the last day of the fair". Rudy said, getting up from his chair and following Louise and Mr. Belcher toward the door.
They walked for a little bit towards the car lot where Mr. Belcher parked the car. The night is still young. Do you two want to go to the fair before it closes? Mr. Belcher asks as he turns into traffic and onto the highway.
Louise thought for a moment. "Yes, let's go to the fair tonight," she said enthusiastically. "I love the fair," to the fair it is, I'll text your mom and tell her that you'll be home later, okay, Rudy?" Mr. Belcher said he was pulling off at the exit he needed to get off at.
It took a little bit, but Mr. Belcher found a parking spot. He paid for the entry pass for Louise and Rudy as well as the wristbands to ride the rides.
Louise took Rudy by the hand towards one of the roller coasters. They got in line next to a group of teenagers, and Louise quickly hid behind Rudy when she saw her rival Logan. Who luckily didn't notice her? Rudy and Louise got to the front of the line and got on the coaster. She looked at Rudy as the coaster began to move.
Rudy held her close to him as the coaster climbed upwards and went down again. It had some tight turns, making it exciting. Louise held onto Rudy as the coaster got to the highest point. It crested and went down another big hill, and through a couple of twists and turns, towards the end, it made its way back to the station."That was great!" Louise said, holding onto Rudy for dear life. They were laughing as they exited the coaster.
"Come on, let's go on something you want to ride now".
Louise said it with a cute smile. Rudy looked around at the variety of rides available and found something he wanted to get on. Taking Louise by the hand, he led her to the front of the line. Getting to the front of the line, the ride attendant put a safety belt around both Rudy and Louise, after which the attendant closed the doors of the carriage of the ride.
The lights inside the carriage dimmed as the ride operator counted down and pushed the cart into motion. It slowly rose into the air before dropping steeply down, making rims, loops, and corkscrews, and making its way through a dark tunnel before coming out the other side and soaring into the sky.
After the carriage came back to the ground, they rode through another tunnel and shot out into the light before plummeting towards the ground.
Rudy gripped Louise tightly as the coaster descended as fast as it could. Coming out the other side, it made its way around another loop and another corkscrew before leveling out and shooting back into the tunnel and then the sky.
This time, instead of making it around a loop, it went around another corkscrew before rocketing straight down into the darkness again. When they came out of the tunnel, they were rocketing through the sky towards the ground below. When they reached the bottom, they turned back to the track, going around another corkscrew and dropping again before shooting back up into the sky.
Rudy looked over at Louise, who was smiling happily and having a good time. He put his arm around her shoulder, holding her tight as the cart climbed once more, making another sharp turn, and then racing towards the end of the ride.
Louise and Rudy got off, smiling and holding hands, and ran into Logan, who made a sarcastic remark to Louise, who clenched her fist, trying not to punch Logan in the face. Logan smirked and reached for Louise's bunny's ears. She quickly grabbed his wrist and started to bend it backward as hard as she could. When she finally released her grip on his wrist, Logan's friends started laughing. Logan snickered and walked away with his friends.
"Wanna go on the bumper cars?" Rudy asked, trying to calm Louise down. "Sure", she said, trying to smile. They held hands as they walked towards the bumper cars. Once they got there, the guy working the booth pointed them toward a pair of bumper cars. Louise climbed into hers and waited for Rudy to climb into the one next to her.
"Let's have fun today," Louise said in a cheerful voice as the ride started moving. The carts started bumping into each other in a frenzy, each trying to ram the other one.
Louise rammed into another bumper car, and as another one bumped into her, Rudy was having difficulty driving his bumper car and got stuck in a corner. Louise tried using her bumper car to get him unstuck but got stuck too. She was spinning and getting very dizzy as the ride came to an end.
When they got out of the bumper cars, the attendant helped them to their feet. They thanked the man for the fun ride and went to get in line for the Ferris wheel.
After a short wait, they got on the Ferris wheel, which moved slowly upward, turning around so that it was facing downward. The cars rocked gently back and forth.
Louise wrapped her arms around Rudy and held on tight as the Ferris wheel climbed higher and higher. She felt a little nervous, but Rudy comforted her and calmed her nerves.
After a while, the ride stopped, and the attendants slowly lowered them to the ground. The view from the Ferris wheel was incredible.
Louise hugged Rudy as she admired the view. She couldn't believe how far away everything looked; even the buildings seemed small compared to how high they were.
After a while, the attendant lowered them back down to the ground and, after thanking them, left.
Rudy looked at his watch. The fair was going to close, and they had enough time for one more ride or attraction. They decided to go to the haunted house attraction, which neither had been to before. They paid the fee for admission and entered the building. When they stepped into the first room, they saw lots of scary-looking people standing in the room staring at them.
Many of them jumped out from behind the corners as Louise just stared at them blankly like she wasn't scared, but they still scared Rudy, who held onto Louise, both hoping the ghouls wouldn't come near them.
They entered the second room, which was scarier than the first. Lots of zombies and other monsters stood watching the couple in the first room move forward. Once the couple moved out of the room, the creatures moved towards them.
In the third room, the walls shook violently as thunder boomed loudly, and lightning flashed across the sky casting shadows everywhere. Another zombie appeared and lunged towards Rudy and Louise. They both screamed and grabbed onto each other before laughing and moving onto the next room.
The couple walked past another room full of vampires before entering the final room and out the exit. Louise was surprised that she got scared, which was hard to do.
The two ran into Logan again as they walked past the exit; this time Rudy punched him as hard as he could. He didn't expect Rudy to hit him as hard as he did; he fell backward and landed flat on his ass.
"Leave us alone!" Rudy shouted at Logan and stormed off. Louise looked over at her boyfriend, shocked but smiling. She was happy Rudy had broken out of his shell and become braver since they started dating.
The two of them held hands as they walked towards the parking lot where Louise's dad was waiting for them.
Before heading home, they took one last picture together outside the gates, just for fun.
It was now nightfall, and the temperature was starting to drop as they headed home. The whole day had been exhausting for them, and they were both glad they spent the day together. Mr. Belcher pulled up in front of Rudy's mom's house, and Louise walked him to the door. He gave her a quick kiss before opening the door and walking inside.
He waved goodbye to her as she got into her dad's car and pulled away towards their apartment. Louise fell asleep in the car, and Bob had to shake her softly awake.
She climbed out of the car and helped her mom and siblings clean up the family restaurant before going upstairs for family night.
While she lay on her bed reading a book, she began to think about the fun times she and Rudy had had all day long. She wished they could stay longer, but her parents needed her help with the restaurant again tomorrow morning.
