Disclaimer: I do not own Gargoyles/Disney related but the original character, Eve Anderson, is from my own mind and is not a character of Disney. I get no pay and am only doing this for fun |
All evening Owen tries to ignore his phone. Every time it beeps, he inwardly cringes knowing that the texts are probably from Eve. He hates leaving her in the dark like this but one word overheard by the wrong person could destroy his plans.
He stares down at his hand, flexing his fingers. Although he is glad to have it back, he knows he needs it to look like it was for a few days longer. A light knock on the door to his office breaks into his thoughts. “Come in.” Alexander steps inside, confusion written all over his face. “Tell me again why you want me to change your hand back to stone?” “Anyone who has been following us will know that my hand is stone. It will be very inconvenient for them to find out that has changed before Sunday.” He glances down as his phone beeps again. “You gonna answer that?” Alexander grins. “It might be Eve.” “I’m sure it is.” Owen reaches over and turns the phone off. “She will have to wait.” Alexander frowns again, reaching out to change Owen’s hand. “Explain to me why. It’s obvious how you feel about her. Why are you ignoring her?” Owen scrubs at his face with his free hand. “I have to. For her safety’s sake for the next couple of days, I have to.” “Uncle Owen, maybe it’s just me but you’ve wanted to be in her pants for over a year now.” He quickly steps away, grinning at his Uncle’s thunderous look. “I mean she’s a gorgeous woman and has a body that is totally rocking. You should be tapping that every night.” Owen’s eyes narrow dangerously. “Do not cross lines with me, Nephew. You will treat Miss Anderson with respect even in private. Is that understood?” His grin turns wicked. “Absolutely, Uncle. I shall be the perfect gentleman to her tomorrow since she will be my date for the night.” He winks at Owen and quickly leaves the rooms before Owen can retaliate. Eve sighs softly as Xander plops down on the couch next to her, popcorn bowl overflowing. “I know it’s not the busy work day you planned but at least we get to watch an awesome movie in the meantime.” He grins at her as he passes the bowl to her. She smiles back, unable to keep a bad mood around his enthusiasm today. She watches as Legolas appears on the screen, towering over the Hobbits. “At least you did pick one I like.” Xander grins, nudging her with his elbow. “So admit it. Which is your favorite character? Mine is Anwygn of course for obvious reasons.” She chuckles, knowing he’s still a young man full of testosterone. “I can see that. She is hot but sorry, I don’t swing that way.” She winks at him. “I dunno. I think Legolas would be interesting.” She laughs even harder at his shocked look. “Just think about it! How sensitive do you think those ears are?” She winks at him again, watching the wheels in his mind turn. When he suddenly catches her meaning, his face blushes furiously. He tries to take a sip of pop to cover it up but movement at the door to the theater room catches his eye. He nearly chokes on his drink when he realizes Owen is standing there and hearing their conversation. Suddenly he grins wickedly again, a plan forming. “So if you met a hot Elf that wanted to spend the night with you, are you saying you couldn’t resist?” This time she blushes. “I don’t know about that. It would be hard not to keep my fingers from his hair and ears.” The figure quickly leaves the doorway, Xander stifling his laugh as he notices her blush deepen. “Don’t worry. I won’t tell Uncle Owen you have the hots for Legolas.” She shoves him playfully, her smile disappearing. “I don’t think that’ll be a problem. He’s not talking to me again.” Xander leans into her, smiling warmly. “Don’t worry. It won’t last. Trust me.” Because she was Xander’s date, she did not get to sit near Owen all night. She had to fend for herself when it came to small talk and she found she could keep up with those around her. With Xander’s help, she didn’t make a mistake all evening. When it came time for the dancing, she gave Xander the first dance before disappearing into a darkened corner. “A beautiful woman should never hide in the shadows.” A voice behind her startles her. “Then it is a good thing I am not a beautiful woman.” She winks at Owen and goes back into the crowd. He follows her, brushing his lips against her ear and sending shivers through her. “Then you have not been seeing the admiring glances sent your way, Eve.” He takes her hand, pulling her to the dance floor. “Come dance with me.” He holds her close, letting the music guide their movements. he tilts his head down, his lips brushing her neck as he continues to whisper. “See the young buck by the punch bowl? He has been undressing you with his eyes all evening.” She frowns, trying not to show how his every brush against her drives her crazy. “I have no time for puppies that need to be trained.” He laughs softly, twirling her away for a moment before bringing her back against her body. “What of the older gentleman by the statue of David?” Her voice turns husky with her arousal. “Too old. He couldn’t keep up with me.” She looks up into his eyes, catching him glimpsing at her breasts. “Of course, I could say the same of you, Old Man.” His lips twitch up. “Is that a challenge?” “Would you like it to be?” She lifts a brow, trying to hide her amusement. Suddenly there is a tapping on his shoulder, keeping him from replying. “May I cut in?” She schools her face so the old gentleman could not see her disappointment. “Of course.” Owen leans close before stepping away, whispering. “Remember to have fun. Let them admire you.” An hour later, Xander catches her hand and heads off any more admirers. “Are you still going to the Rave?” She grins. “Of course. Someone has to keep you out of trouble.” He laughs, leading her towards the doors. “I just didn’t know with everything going on if you would head back to safety.” She lifts a brow at him, giving him a disapproving look. “I’m not letting them cage me yet am I?” He grins back. “Good. You’ll finally get to meet my teacher, Puck, and have some fun for a change.” Owen meets them at the door, their coats in hand. “I have made your apologies for leaving so early to our hosts, Alexander. However, next time it would be more polite for you to do so in person.” Xander grins as he takes Eve’s coat, helps her into it, and drapes her arm over his. “Shall we go, Miss Anderson?” “Absolutely.” She smiles at Owen as Xander leads her past him. “I think I’ve had my fill of crusty old men and young puppies staring down my chest as if I don’t have eyes in my head.” “Sorry.” Xander opens the passenger side door and glances in at their driver for the night. “I’d have rescued you sooner but I thought Uncle Owen was supposed to do that job.” She mocks glares at him. “Some date you turned out to be! Left me to the wolves!” He laughs and climbs in, leaving Eve and Owen to share the back seat. Owen graciously helps her inside before settling in next to her. She watches him as he stares off out the window, her mood plummeting. “What’s wrong?” She gently touches his hand. “Did I screw something up?” He takes her hand, bringing it to his lips to lightly kiss. “You were perfect. I am just thinking about the party Alexander is going to. I don’t like the thought of you going there.” “You don’t think he can protect me while we’re there?” She leans away from him, concerned. “It is not that. I am sure he can wipe the floor with anyone there and so can his teacher.” He gently pats her hand. “As I said, I am very protective. Please be careful.” “I know. Don’t drink anything that wasn’t opened in front of me, keep drink in sight at all times, never leave alone, blah blah blah..” She rolls her eyes, pulling his hand into her lap and leaving it on her bare thigh. “Do I have to keep reminding you I’m a big girl?” His thumb caresses her thigh, sending shivers through her. “That is not my biggest worry. I do know Puck well enough to know trouble follows him.” She laughs and leans close enough to whisper in his ear. “I promise to be a good girl even when I’m being bad.” He turns his head, staring deep into her eyes. He leans close to kiss her but Xander’s shout of “We’re home!” breaks the mood. She sighs in frustration, biting her lip as he helps her from the car. They quietly ride the elevator up to the living quarters while Xander chatters away about the people she will be meeting at the party. When the doors open, Owen quickly kisses her hand before stepping out. “I will see you in the morning, Alexander. Good Evening, Eve.” Xander leads her down a different hall than the one Owen took, Eve glancing over her shoulder in confusion. “He’s not going?” “Um, no.” Xander wiggles his eyebrows at her. “That would be a little hard for him to do.” Her confusion deepens. “So where are we meeting Puck?” “My rooms.” Xander grins. “We’ll both have to change clothes first.” “I don’t have a change of clothes.” She frowns at him as he opens the door and ushers her inside. “No worries. I can magic you some new ones.” He stops and looks around. “We’re here, Uncle Puck.” A thin man with white blonde hair steps from the shadows. Her breath hitches as his blue eyes take her in. “About time. I hate waiting.” He steps closer, circling her as he takes her all in. “My, you are a ravishing sight but this dress will not do.” He snaps his fingers and her hair falls from its clips, her dress changing to a black leather corset, skirt and thigh high boots. “Much better.” Xander snaps his fingers and changes into a similar outfit. “Ready when you are.” Puck lifts her hand in his and grins. “I hope you are not the type who gets easily sick. It would ruin the outfit.” With a wink to Puck, Xander transports them to the party in the blink of an eye.
