Kim sighed and leaned back in her chair. Frustrated did not begin to adequately describe how she felt right now. The aches and pains from the beating she’d taken at Shego’s hands might be less now, and she could feel her rib starting to heal too, but it was bound to be several more days before the bruising was fully healed, let alone the rib. On top of that, she was starting to go crazy from the combined irritation of having to use her liniment along with how itchy the tape around her chest was becoming. Then there was her family. Between her injuries and worrying about what was going on with Shego, this was the first weekend in over a month where she’d spent more time arguing with her parents than enjoying their time together—added to which was the increasingly weird way her brothers were continuing to be nice to her. And of course there was the actual worrying about what she was feeling for Shego too—that was still a big mass of confusion even now. Last but not least, there was the little problem of her being hornier than she’d ever been in her entire life and not being able to do anything about it—or more precisely, that she refused to do anything about it because of what might happen if she did. The fact that she could solve the problem so easily—and at this point, quickly—if she just let herself was maddening. All of those things had combined to drive her up the walls with a frustration so strong she’d only narrowly resisted the urge to literally try and pull her hair out by the roots.
And now there was another straw being added to the pile—a straw that just might be the one that broke the camel’s back and drove her completely crazy. She’d spent nearly two days dealing with her growing aggravation, and now that it was Sunday she had homework that had to be finished now. However, despite trying to do it since mid-afternoon, only taking time out to eat supper a little while ago, no matter how much she tried, she just couldn’t concentrate on the work. Thoughts of Shego, or what she could be doing if she just gave in to her needs, or both, had derailed her more scholarly trains of thought every single time. Doing homework on an ocean liner in the middle of a hurricane was nothing compared to doing it while you were sexually frustrated and trying to figure out your feelings for a woman that it was crazy for you to be having feelings for.
Shaking her head sharply, Kim sat up straight and pulled her chair in close to her desk, determined to force herself to concentrate on the schoolwork she had been staring at all afternoon. That determination lasted all of five minutes before she was again distracted, this time by the sound of her phone ringing.
Getting up from her desk, Kim was half annoyed, half grateful for the distraction as she hunted down her phone and flipped it open. Looking at the display, her brow furrowed slightly as she saw “Unknown Caller,” but with the mood she was in right now, even a call from a phone solicitor would be a welcome relief from her problems.
Hitting the receive button, Kim brought the phone to her ear and said “Hello?” in a neutral tone. There was no response but silence—not the complete silence of an unconnected line on a computerized dialing system, but rather the slight whispering silence of an open line. A few seconds later Kim said “Hellooo?” once more, starting to get annoyed.
Just as Kim was about to follow her first instinct to hang up, a sudden feeling of certainty struck her, and she put all her concentration into listening to the soft hiss coming through the receiver. She still didn’t think she heard anything, but she somehow knew; she was sure of it! Carefully, softly, almost tentatively, Kim asked; “Shego?”
The softly hissing silence stretched out almost unbearably, each second seeming to tick by with agonizing slowness, and then Kim thought she heard a deep breath being drawn. A moment later Shego’s voice came through the receiver clear and with a firm resolve; “We need to talk Princess.”
“Shego, you’ve got to let me explain! Please, I need to—” The words spilled out of Kim in a frantic rush, but Shego cut her off before she could continue.
“No! We’re not doing this over the phone Possible! If you want to talk to me then you’ll come to the outlook by the Mt. Middleton Observatory at nine o’clock, understand?”
Kim hesitated, her instincts telling her to be wary of a trap, but after a few moments, she decided it didn’t matter. Trap or not, she was going to have to deal with Shego anyway, and it was better to do it now than start worrying about what might happen next if she didn’t go. Besides which, it might be against her better judgment, but… Kim honestly didn’t think a trap like this was Shego’s style. She’d have either just attacked her again without warning, like before, or she’d have called her out openly.
Looking at the clock, Kim saw that it was seven thirty-six. Given the shape she was in, and the fact that her motorcycle was scattered in small pieces along several hundred yards of interstate, she’d only barely have time to get to the outlook on her bicycle, since she didn’t have enough money for a cab, and there was no way she was going to get a ride from her parents or through Wade.
“All right Shego, I’ll be there, but I might be a little later than nine o’clock, since you destroyed my bike and all.”
“I’ll give you a little leeway Kimmie, but don’t be too late, or all you’ll find is an empty parking lot, understand?” Shego paused for a long moment, then added; “And… I’m sorry. For the bike.”
Shego immediately hung up after that final rushed admission, leaving Kim staring at her phone in wide-eyed disbelief.
“Did I just hear Shego… apologize for something? Or am I just going crazy?” Kim questioned herself out loud, slowly shaking her head in disbelief. A moment later she shook her head more sharply, snapping herself out of her shock and moving to her closet in order to try and find something to wear, tossing her phone on the bed as she went.
At first she thought to wear her mission outfit, but eventually decided against it, given the statement of mistrust that would make; it was hardly a good foot to put forward for whatever this meeting was going to be. Eventually Kim decided on blue jeans, her viridian long-sleeved shirt, a light blue jacket, and sneakers.
Once she finished changing, Kim picked up her phone again and quickly called up Monique’s number before hitting connect, bringing the phone to her ear and softly muttering “Come on! Come on!” as she impatiently waited for her friend to pick up.
“Hey girlfriend, what’s up?” Monique answered after the seventh ring.
“Monique, listen, I don’t have much time to talk, but I just got a call from Shego. She wants me to meet her at the Mt. Middleton Observatory outlook. Tonight. In less than two hours.”
“What? Well… what are you going to do Kim?”
“I’m going to meet her. But I figured it was a good idea to let someone know where I was going just in case something happens.”
“You think it’s a trap Kim?”
“I don’t… think so Mo. It doesn’t feel like something Shego would do. But… I can’t be sure, so I figured better safe than sorry.” Kim answered while bracing her phone between her shoulder and ear so she could put her watch on.
“All right, what do you want me to do?”
“If you haven’t heard from me by… eleven o’clock, you call out the cavalry Mo. Get Ron and Wade and tell them everything that’s been going on with me and Shego and they’ll take it from there, ok?”
“Awww hell no girlfriend! We’ll take it from there, y’dig?” Monique said heatedly, and Kim smiled while she finished setting the alarm on her watch for a quarter to eleven.
“Ok Mo, if that’s how you want it.”
“Damn straight!”
“Just remember that if it comes to that, you need to listen to Ron and Wade Mo. They’ve been dealing with this kind of stuff for years now, and they know what they’re doing, ok?”
“Ahhhh… Ron?” Monique queried skeptically.
“Well, more Wade than Ron, but yes, even Ron. When push comes to shove he’s come through for me more often than not Mo, so don’t sell him short. Though odds are you’ll probably need to slap the shit out of him in order to get him to calm down and think straight once you tell him what’s going on, but after that, he should be fine. More or less… for him anyway.”
“All right Kim, you know what you’re doing I guess.” Monique answered, her tone still skeptical despite the acquiescence.
“Not really.” Kim muttered under her breath before continuing in a normal tone; “Ok Mo, I have to let you go now if I’m going to get there on time. Wish me luck, whatever this is.”
“Ok Kim, good luck… and you stay safe girl.”
“Thanks Mo.” Kim answered before hanging up and sliding her phone into her pocket.
Heading downstairs, Kim stuck her head in the living room and said; “I’m going out for a while, and I’m not sure when I’ll be back. I’ve got a lead on some follow up information for something I’m dealing with that I have to run down.”
Ann opened her mouth with an annoyed expression, but before she could speak, James looked up from his newspaper and sternly said; “Ok Kimmie-cub, but you make sure you’re ready for school tomorrow, all right?”
Ann closed her mouth with a muted scowl as Kim answered, “Ok dad.” before turning back into the hall. As Kim headed for the garage, she head Jim say “See you later Kim.” and Tim say; “Good luck.” but she just shook her head and dismissed it—she didn’t have time to dwell on that particular weirdness right now.
Entering the garage, Kim flipped on the light and closed the door behind her before tracking down her old ten-speed. Then she cursed upon finding that both tires were flat. Quickly scrounging up the bicycle pump, Kim inflated her tires as fast as she could, keeping up a steady stream of grumbling all the while. As soon as she was done, Kim turned off the light and triggered the garage door. The instant it was up all the way, she hit the close button and ran out into the driveway with her bike in hand, mounting it and taking off in a single fluid motion.
Kim geared down as soon as she could and set out for the Mt. Middleton Observatory at a strong, steady pace once she was fully up to speed. Glancing at her watch, she saw that it was nearly eight o’clock, which meant she’d have to work hard to get there on time, considering over half the trip would be uphill.
Forty-six minutes later night had fallen, and the dimly lit Mt. Middleton Observatory was coming into view for Kim, rising out of the surrounding forested hillsides, and she was fairly impressed that she had gotten to this point so quickly. Her injuries had loosed up from the exertion but were still fairly noticeable, her cracked rib had become a continuous throbbing ache in her side, and her legs burned from effort, but overall she was in pretty good shape all things considered. Apparently her training was doing more for her than she’d thought, aside from the obvious improvements to her fighting skills.
Ten minutes later Kim was pulling into the parking lot of the Mt. Middleton Observatory lookout park. With the dim lighting around the observatory, most people would have had trouble seeing, but Kim had always had excellent night vision, and with the nearly half-hour her eyes had had to adjust to the darkness while coming up the dark road to the outlook, she could see as well as if she were in a well-lit mall parking lot.
Past the shadowed far side of the lot, Kim could make out the dim lines of the green racing bike Shego had driven Friday, parked on the lawn a short distance away from one of the picnic tables set up around the overlook itself. Leaning up against the side of that table was a mostly-familiar female form that Kim was all but sure was Shego, given the long mane of dark hair wafting gently in the light breeze, let alone the bike being there.
Kim turned her bike toward the bike rack on the near side of the lot and coasted to a stop just before she reached it, hopping off the bike and sliding it into the rack in a continuous, even motion. For a brief moment she considered locking it, then snorted and shook her head as she realized how silly that was.
Turning around, Kim took a deep, cleansing breath and released it in a slow, controlled sigh. Then she started walking towards Shego with a confident stride that belied the twisting mass of confusion and anxiety she was feeling now that she was actually here.
As Kim got closer, she began making out more details, seeing that Shego was wearing an unsettling outfit—insomuch as it was something that Kim would have never expected to see Shego wearing in a million years, so it just looked so very… wrong, to her. She had on a pair of loose, faded blue jeans that were just shy of being baggy, what looked to be dark brown leather hiking boots, and a loose black shirt that left about six inches of her stomach bare, over the top of which was an unzipped, well-worn, classic fleece-lined brown leather bomber jacket with a big snarling tiger patch on the back of it.
As Kim approached, Shego turned slightly to watch her come, taking a drink from a nearly empty two-liter bottle as she did. When Kim got about ten feet away and came to a stop, Shego stared at her intently for a long, drawn-out moment of silence before a wry smile crept across her face. Shaking her head gently, she said; “Well, ain’t we a pair… Raggedy Man.”
“Hunh?”
At Kim’s blank, uncomprehending stare, Shego shook her head slightly and responded; “Mad Max? Beyond Thunderdome?” shaking her head more in disgust now as Kim kept looking at her without a clue, Shego grumbled; “Kids today, no appreciation for the classics…” before taking another drink from her bottle.
Taking a single step forward, Kim almost raised a hesitant right hand towards Shego as she cautiously, carefully asked; “Ahhh… Shego? Have you been… drinking?”
Shego snorted and looked at Kim with an amused smile. “What, this?” Shego held up the bottle and gave it a little shake. “No Princess, it’s just good old wholesome Country Time Lemonade.” Shaking her head slightly she continued; “I learned a loooong time ago that booze and the ability to throw energy blasts at will were a bad combination Kimmie.”
Setting her bottle down on the picnic table, Shego used her hip to push herself fully upright and turned to face Kim.
“So, here we are…” Shego said with a peculiar smile.
“Shego, look, I need to explain things to you,” Kim beseeched sincerely, taking another step forward and raising her right hand slightly this time, “and I want to—”
Shego raised her right palm to Kim and cut her off. “Ah-ah! I’m not a complete moron Possible. It’s pretty obvious what’s going on. You’ve been…” Shego raised her right eyebrow a hair and smirked slightly as she continued; “discovering things about yourself lately, haven’t you? Things that have you more than a little bit confused and slightly scared out of your wits?”
Kim nodded and bit her lip slightly for a second before shyly answering; “Ummm, yeah. More the first than the second, but… yeah, a little bit of that too.”
“And that’s why I’m here Kimmie. This… has to be one of the very—and I do mean very—few situations I can think of where I’d be willing to cut someone some slack for trying to do to me what you tried to do, understand?” Kim nodded with relief, but before she could say anything, Shego continued firmly; “So, this is how it’s going to work Kimmie. That night in the warehouse? Yeah, it never happened. And a few days ago? That fight we had with me ahhh… deciding to… leave, so suddenly? Yeah, that never happened either, got it?”
Kim stood for a moment in silence, her face falling as she absorbed Shego’s words. She hadn’t been prepared for this, and… she never would have anticipated the inexplicably sharp, painful ache of loss she was feeling right now either. Still, it was better than the alternative of Shego continuing to be her enemy—well, a real enemy anyway. She’d learn to live with it.
Sighing gently, Kim responded in a soft, sad voice. “All right Shego, if… if that’s the way you want it, then… I guess we’ll go back to the way things were. I… I’m sorry Shego. Really sorry.”
Kim turned and started heading back towards her bike, but before she could take more than two steps, Shego caught up to her with a quick stride and grabbed her by the shoulder, turning her around while saying; “Whoa whoa whoa! Just where the hell do you think you’re going? Do you really think I called you all the way out here just to tell you that?”
Kim was instinctively tensing, preparing to fight, when Shego’s words disarmed her with the confusion they brought.
“But… I thought… I mean, didn’t you just say you wanted to forget about all of this? Pretend it never happened?”
“Enh, Jesus… it’s like talking to Drakken.” Shego muttered, shaking her head in frustration. “All right, fine, so I’ll talk to her like Drakken then.”
Resting her hands on Kim’s shoulders and staring into her eyes, Shego continued in a louder tone; “No, I did not say that, little Miss doesn’t pay attention to the details. But if I have to get hyper-specific with you then I will. What I said was that you, the party of the first part, and me, the party of the second part, will enter into an arrangement whereupon we agree that the events on the night of May thirteenth, two-thousand-and-five, the fighting on the afternoon of June twenty-fourth, two-thousand-and-five, and the party of the second part’s subsequent…” Shego grit her teeth and grated out; “running away from the party of the first part like a dog with its tail between its legs, never took place.”
Shego let go of Kim and stepped back, still looking at her intently as she crossed her arms beneath her breasts, licking her lips hesitantly before she finished; “That… still leaves… the other thing.” Shego dropped her gaze and looked at the ground between them for a moment before looking back up at Kim once more.
It took Kim a few moments to follow what Shego had said, but once she’d worked it out in her head she was still confused. Not by what Shego had said, but rather by the way the painful feelings that had arisen in her quickly dissipated, replaced by relief and a warm if somewhat tentative and wary happiness instead.
“So… you want to forget about the fighting and my…” Kim paused, swallowing, and her voice grew choked and her eyes shimmered as she continued; “Oh god, I’m so, so sorry Shego but… I really do think I was… trying to… kill you that night…”
“Hey, I already told you that’s ok Kimmie.” Shego said softly, her arms uncrossing at the girl’s distress. “You were confused and I wasn’t exactly helping matters any—not that I knew it at the time—so you just sorta snapped; I get it. Trust me, I get it. And I’m not going to hold that against you, because it wasn’t something you intended to do, you just lost control. So, like you say Kimmie, it’s no big, really.” Shego smiled wryly as she finished.
Kim shook her head in disbelief, completely baffled over how Shego could dismiss it so easily.
“But I tried to kill you Shego! Just because I was having dreams about you! How can you just blow that off so easily?”
“Ok, you really need to drop this now Kimmie.” Shego answered, still half smiling, but her amused tone carried a hard, serious edge to it, as did her dark green eyes, letting Kim know she wasn’t kidding. “I know you’re little Miss goody goody and all, but you’re forgetting that I’m little Miss ‘blows people through walls when they start getting on her nerves,’ and you pushing this is starting to annoy me, ok? And I’ll be even more annoyed over how completely retarded us getting into a fight because of this would be if it comes to that—and it will come to that if you keep this up Kimmie, trust me! Besides, if anyone here gets to decide if it’s an issue or not, it kinda has to be me, given that I’m the one you tried to kill and all, so just drop it already, all right?”
Despite her deep sense of guilt and wrong, and despite Shego’s aggressive attitude, Kim couldn’t help snorting and shaking her head with a smile. The assessment might have been blunt, but it was also spot-on for how silly she was being. If Shego was willing to forgive her, then it was ridiculous for her to keep pushing the woman like this—after all, she’d figured out that she wasn’t masochistic just a few days ago, so why was she behaving as if she was?
“Ok Shego, if you really want to let it go then far be it for me to stop you. It never happened.” Kim’s smile was just a touch bemused over the situation, but she was sincere.
“All right then.” Shego answered, then she looked away for a second. When she turned back, she was grinning wickedly as she said; “So, you’ve been dreaming about me, have you Pumpkin?”
Kim blushed furiously, but she boldly answered; “Yes, I’ve been dreaming about you, all right? I mean, why else would I have done… what I did to you a few days ago. And it’s not exactly like you were just lying there helplessly taking it either! I mean seriously Shego, I know you didn’t tell me you were Gay or thinking about me like that or anything, but don’t try and make it seem like I’m the only one here that was, ok?”
“Actually Kimmie, if you really want the honest truth, I didn’t think about you like that. Or at least, I didn’t before a few days ago anyway—I sure as hell am now though. But before… well, you were just an eternal and eternally annoying thorn in my side. An infuriatingly likeable, enjoyable thorn that sort of grew on me somehow, but a thorn nonetheless. You slowly but surely earned my respect over the last two years as we butted heads, and I kinda liked you in a ‘I’m still going to kick your ass’ sorta way, but that? Nope, not even close. And I’m not Gay either.”
Kim’s first reaction to Shego’s words was a spike of absolute mortification twisting through her guts. “Oh god, Shego, I’m so sorry. I… I never should have… what I did to yo—” Kim cut off abruptly as her thoughts started catching up to her response, her brow furrowing while she gave an aggravated shake of her head. “No no no, wait a minute! I was not the only one in that field doing things damnit! You were too, so…” Kim’s eyes widened as a sudden thought sprang into her head, “unless… you mean that you—”
Shego held her palms up to Kim and cut her off once more. “Calm down Princess, before you blow a gasket or something. I said I wasn’t Gay, not that I didn’t like girls.”
Kim blinked, and then responded; “Oh, so… you’re Bi then?”
“D’oy.” Shego’s smile took the sting out of her dry retort.
“And you… like me?” Kim moved slightly closer to Shego.
“Don’t know how it happened, but yeah, somehow I ended up liking you Kimmie, despite all the jail time and constant interference on your part.”
Kim moved a little closer to Shego, only a foot away now, smiling at her.
“And you’re thinking about me like that now, are you?”
It was Shego’s turn to blush slightly as she looked away and then back again, hesitantly meeting Kim’s eyes as she responded; “Yeah Kimmie, I am.”
Kim moved even closer, looking up into Shego’s dark green eyes intently as she continued; “This is pretty fucked up, isn’t it?”
Shego’s eyes widened considerably and she even gave a breathy little gasp that Kim wouldn’t have heard if she weren’t so close to her, causing the girl to snort softly and grin as she said; “Yeah Shego, I swear now too.”
Blinking a few times, Shego shook her head a little and gave a faint smile as she answered; “I guess so. And yeah, this is pretty fucked up Pumpkin, I agree.”
“So… what are we going to do about it then?” Kim asked, her heart beating faster and her breath quickening as she moved so close to Shego they were almost touching.
Looking down at Kim, her eyes shimmering as she gazed deep into the girl’s warm, soft, fern-green eyes, Shego responded; “I don’t know Kimmie.”
Kim’s nostrils flared slightly as she scented the soft smell of Shego on the wafting breeze, and she took it deep into her lungs while drinking in the sight of the older woman’s pretty, exotic features as her smooth tea-green skin all but glowed in the dim, shadowy light that barely reached them.
Kim felt herself stirring as excitement and longing rose up within her, and she found that she didn’t care about any of it; not how crazy it was, not how impossible it was, not about who and what Shego was, or even who she herself was. The feverish need and want inside her burned all of that away. Despite everything that had come before between the two of them, this felt right to her, more right than anything she’d ever felt before, and that was all she cared about.
“I think you do Shego.” Kim said softly, raising her hands to gently slide them over the soft, exposed skin of Shego’s tight waist and around to the small of her back, pulling the two of them closer until she was pressed tightly against Shego’s oh so very warm front, her firm young breasts pleasantly compacted against the older woman’s equally firm if slightly larger ones.
Shego didn’t answer as Kim pulled her tight, but she didn’t resist either, and Kim could see the taller woman’s dark green eyes widen as her breath quickened, the soft, moist warmth of it gently stroking Kim’s face even as she felt both her own and Shego’s nipples hardening under their respective shirts. Kim began gently massaging the twin swells of firm muscle along Shego’s back, delicately stroking her fingertips across the silky smooth skin in the valley of her spine as she did so.
“I think… you know… exactly what to do…” Kim murmured breathily as she slowly rose up on her toes, bringing herself closer and closer to Shego’s face, until they were nose to nose.
Kim tilted her head slightly, and for the first time, her soft, unpainted lips met Shego’s darker painted ones consciously and willingly on both their parts. Shego vented a soft half-whine, half-moan as Kim gently kissed her, softly tugging and pulling at the older woman’s lips with her skilled mouth, while little icy shivers shot through her electrically. It was only a short moment later that Shego leaned over slightly and brought her arms up to embrace Kim as well, placing her left hand in the center of Kim’s back and sliding the right up under her lion’s mane of dark red hair, wrapping her strong, warm fingers around the nape of Kim’s neck, squeezing the muscles with soft, gentle undulations.
As the kiss went on, it slowly deepened and broadened as Shego contributed her own skill as well, only breaking for quick moments to allow soft pants and gasps for breath before continuing once more. Kim matched Shego’s gentle moans with her own pleased purrs as their mouths stroked and lipped at one another in soft, silky warmth, each exchange growing more heated and hungry as the moment stretched on into wonderful eternity.
Kim broadened her exploration of Shego’s strong back, sliding her arms up under Shego’s coat and brushing her hands up and down the satiny surface of her new musculature, reveling in how firm and taut the deliciously tight surface felt under her touch. As well, in her explorations Kim discovered, much to her surprise and delight, that Shego wasn’t wearing a bra, and she quickly shifted her focus to softly stroking the swelling curves of the taller woman’s flanks, little shivers of delight running up her spine as her thumbs brushed the sensitive sides of Shego’s compacted breasts, eliciting visible shivers and deeper groans of enjoyment from the older woman as they did.
While Kim continued running her hands over Shego’s soft skin, their kiss began to deepen even further, the rising desire in each of them parting their lips more and more, until Kim knew it was only a matter of time before their hungry lipping and tugging gave way to deep-delving, intertwining tongues instead. That anticipation sent a wash of feverish heat through Kim, and her head filled with the soft scent of Shego, driving out everything else. All of her frustrated desire and need over the last two days boiled up inside Kim, her pulse pounding like thunder in her ears, painfully aware of the throbbing itch in her rock hard nipples and clit, aching for release.
Awash in a desire stronger than anything she’d ever felt before, Kim could no longer control herself. All the patience she’d gained through months of extensive experience deserted her completely; she wanted Shego now, needed her now, had to feel her slick, furious heat on her fingers, hear her moans of passion tearing up from deep within her as she writhed in ecstasy under her touch, feel her come hard and strong and hot like she knew she would!
Action followed driving impulse, and Kim twisted her right hand around Shego’s flank and ran her widespread fingers down the rippling swells of the woman’s taut abs, sliding them under the tight elastic waistband of her underwear, pushing past it and the waist of her jeans as she drove down deeper, desperately seeking the dichotomy of heated hardness and feverish softness she knew awaited her. Much to Kim’s surprise however, her frantic expedition elicited a completely unexpected response from Shego.
“Mumph, whoa! Whoa!” Shego’s voice was slightly muffled as her hips jerked back from Kim’s questing hand and she broke off the kiss, taking a step back. “Watch the hands Possible!”
Kim’s eyes flew open and she froze for a second as Shego’s warmth deserted her, replaced by the cool breeze wafting through the night, but the other woman’s tone didn’t seem particularly angry, just a little… irritated.
“But… I thought…” Kim stammered in confusion. “I mean, didn’t you say you were thinking about me like that now?”
Shego sighed and took another step back, standing up straight as she stared at Kim. “Yeah, I am Kimmie, but…” Shego shook her head slightly. “Don’t get me wrong Princess, there’s nothing I’d like more than to lay you out on this table and go to town,” Shego grinned as she gestured to the nearby picnic table, “Give all the local wildlife a run for their money at The Call of the Wild and all, but…” Shego’s smile twisted and softened slightly, growing pensive as she sighed, “Despite that, I think it’d probably be a really bad idea for us to jump into this headfirst by fucking each other’s brains out right off the bat. This is going to be complicated enough as it is, so I think that taking it just a little bit slower than that is called for, despite all the death threats my libido is sending me right now, ‘k?”
Kim snorted, grinned, and shook her head, highly amused over Shego being the voice of reason.
“Ok Shego. As weird as it seems hearing you say something like that, I guess you’re right, it probably would be a bad idea.” Kim looked up with a wicked smirk. “We’ll save that for our third date.”
Shego shook her head and grinned back. “Oh yeah, like hearing you say something like that isn’t weird as hell either Kimmie.” Shego paused for a second, looking reflective, and then suspiciously added; “Speaking of weird… when you were going on your little expedition down my pants, you stopped a split second before I actually told you to, didn’t you? Now why was that?”
Kim was suddenly quite grateful for the darkness surrounding them as she blushed furiously. “Oh, well… it’s just…” Kim looked at the ground for a few seconds before looking up again. “It’s nothing Shego, really. Don’t worry about it.”
Shego raised an eyebrow and stared at Kim intently, but then her face relaxed and she shook her head gently. “Look Princess, I don’t know what’s going to happen between the two of us, but I do know that whatever it is, the only way it’ll stand a chance of working is if we’re honest with one another, ok? And I’m not talking about the pansy-assed honesty a lot of couples gloat about having, I mean the stupidly blunt, literal honesty that’s usually a death sentence for most people, got it? So if you want to keep going with this, I need you to promise me that you’ll always be completely honest with me, no matter what it is, all right Kimmie?” After a momentary pause, Shego quickly raised her right hand, index finger extended, and added; “And no lies by omission or skating around the truth with evasion either! It’s all or nothing Kimmie!”
Kim snorted, shaking her head again. “Ok, first you don’t want to have sex with me, even though I know you’re as turned on as I am, and now you want us to always tell the truth to one another? All right, who are you and what have you done with the real Shego?”
Shego snorted, then gave her head a quick little shake before forcing herself to look serious and mostly succeeding. “Look, I know it sounds strange Kimmie, but I’m serious. It might make it a lot harder, but given how we are, it’s really the only way this has any chance of working. Anything else and either I’ll end up blowing you through a wall or you’ll stew and fester until you snap and kick me in the head, and then it’ll be game on and we’ll start pounding the crap out of one another, which will either end with one or both of us in the hospital or the morgue, or, us having really crazy, rough, mind-blowing sex. Unfortunately, that isn’t really healthy either way it turns out, so this is how it’s got to be Princess.”
Kim snorted at the assessment and smiled wryly, murmuring, “Interesting choices…” before continuing in a louder tone. “Ok Shego, I guess you’re right about that. In a… generally insulting sorta way for the both of us.” Kim’s amused smile took the sting out of her words. “So I’m willing to make that promise, assuming you are as well.”
“Well it’s not like I don’t speak my mind already…” Shego paused at Kim’s look, and then glanced downward while grumbling; “Ok, so the little voice in my head that stops most people from saying the kinds of things I do died a long time ago, all right?” Shego looked up at Kim again. “But I am honest about it.” Shego couldn’t help grinning and adding; “Honestly derisive and sarcastic too, but honest nonetheless.”
Kim smiled and shook her head, but didn’t say anything; she just kept looking at Shego patiently and quietly with that soft little smile.
“All right, all right! I’ll promise too! You happy now Possible?” Shego growled.
“Fair’s fair Shego.” Kim responded.
Shego sighed and nodded. “I guess so Kimmie.” Shego paused for a moment, her features growing thoughtful, then she added; “But with one exception for the both of us; we need to be completely honest all the way except when it comes to work. I can tell you to take a hike if you ask me anything about whatever plans I’m involved in, and the same goes for you if I try asking about anything you’re up to with the whole world-saving gig, ok?”
“Ok Shego, I promise to always tell the truth and not leave anything out unless it involves work. Just so long as you do too.” Kim answered.
“I promise Kimmie. So, like I said, what’s up with the hesitation going down my pants?”
Despite the long respite Kim had had during Shego’s sidetrack, her embarrassment came back nearly as strong, and it was with considerable trepidation that she proceeded in a series of rushes and stalls while looking at the ground between her and Shego.
“I… well, it’s just that… I… I’ve only been with a couple of people who didn’t ahhh… wax, ok? And I… I didn’t really like it all that much…” Kim looked up quickly. “But I’m sure I can get used to it in time Shego, really!”
Shego stared at Kim for several long, drawn out moments, and Kim grew increasingly nervous as the silence dragged on, worried that Shego was going to snap and go ballistic over the insult. What she got wasn’t what she expected though, as Shego snorted suddenly and burst out; “That’s what you were so worried about?”
Shego snorted again and chuckled, breaking into a large grin as she laughed; “I can’t believe that’s…” Shego laughed even harder, her eyes sparkling with mirth as she tried to speak. “I mean… after… all the things we’ve… done to one another… over the years.” Shego was almost gasping now, and she staggered back to lean on the picnic table for support, her entire body shuddering with laughter. “And you’re… you’re worried… that… I’ll… I’ll be insulted… because…” Shego struggled to talk, tears running down her face as she forced the words out between gales of laughter with a sheer act of will. “I’ve got… got carpeting… instead of… hardwood floors!”
Shego roared with laughter, hunching over the table and struggling to hold herself upright, gasping for breath as tears continued to stream down her face, and it was only a moment before her mirth infected Kim as well, starting with a snort, then a chuckle, followed by a giggle, until at last, as much as she tried to fight it, Kim burst into laughter too. She wasn’t quite as incapacitated as Shego, but it came close, and it was quite a while before either woman finally started recovering their self-control.
Panting, Shego weakly looked up at Kim, and found her hunched over with her hands braced on her knees and panting as well. Sensing Shego’s gaze, Kim looked up at her, her slightly disheveled dark red hair framing her face, and smiled with a titter. Shego smiled back, but hadn’t the strength to say anything yet.
A short while later, both women had recovered enough to stand up straight and brush away their tears with the backs of their hands, but they still wore broad smiles and their eyes shimmered with amusement.
Shaking her head as she took a deep breath, Shego sighed softly before saying; “Well, not quite as good as fucking each other’s brains out would have been, but that was still pretty good.”
Snorting and shaking her own head, Kim answered; “Yeah, it was pretty good, wasn’t it. And I guess you’re right, when you think about it like that, it is pretty silly.” Kim sobered and looked at Shego with a sincere expression. “But I really was worried you’d take it the wrong way when it has nothing to do with you Shego. I just haven’t had much experience with the ahhh… natural look, so to speak, so it’s probably just a matter of getting used to it, really.”
“Don’t be so sure of that Kimmie,” Shego smiled, “I’m not a real big fan of ‘the natural look’ either; everyone has different tastes after all.” A Kim’s raised eyebrow and curious look Shego smirked and continued; “I’ve only got a little styled cap up top there Kimmie, the rest of me is clean as a whistle.” Shego held up her right hand and twiddled her fingers while summoning her energy for a brief second. “Ultimate depilatory system built right in at no extra charge.”
Kim smiled and shook her head gently, and after a moment of silence, Shego’s expression grew considering again. A moment later Shego slyly asked; “But you know, the way that you said you’ve only been with a couple of people who weren’t clean cut… makes it sound like you’ve been with even more who were. Just how many people have you been with anyway Kimmie?”
Shego was looking to get a rise out of Kim with her teasing question, but instead what she got blew her away as Kim cocked her head slightly, her brow furrowing somewhat as she concentrated for a few moments before casually but seriously answering; “Lemmi see… I think it’s… nine now. Errr, no, wait,” Kim quickly added after a short pause, “I’m forgetting about the redhead in Milan… and that cute Greek girl in Ibiza too. So I guess it’s eleven.”
“Yeah right…” Shego scoffed with amusement, until she took note of Kim’s continued serious expression. “What? You’re seriously telling me you’ve not only gone through eleven relationships in the last—what? Six months or so?—but you’ve also gone all the way every time? Or, or what? That you’re a player? Yeah, suuuure…” Shego grinned wryly.
“No, I’ve only been in one relationship thank you very much.” Kim answered, slightly miffed. “And I’m not a player either… well, not exactly anyway. Everyone we’ve been with is someone Corscan’s already known for a while now… except that one blonde girl in Cancun. We did pick her up for the first time that night,” Kim smiled wickedly, “but if you’d seen her you’d know why we did.”
Shego’s eyes widened considerably during Kim’s explanation, and her mouth gaped slightly for a few long seconds before she shook her head vigorously with a long, drawn-out sound of confusion.
“No no no, ‘we’? You cannot mean what I think you mean Kimmie…”
Kim snorted slightly at Shego’s antics and answered; “Well if you think I mean I’m in a relationship where we sometimes have some fun with someone else as well, then yeah, that’s exactly what I mean Shego.”
Shego blinked several times, and then her mouth twisted into a smile of wry amusement as she said; “Jesus, you are serious, aren’t you Princess. Ho-lee crap.” After a short pause, Shego smirked slyly and added; “Well, I guess we’ve finally found something I’ll admit you’re better at than I am Kimmie. Heh heh… you’re Kim Possible, and you can do anyone.”
“Shegoooo.” Kim’s eyes narrowed slightly and her voice had a hard edge to it.
“Oh don’t get’cher panties in a knot Kimmie,” Shego laughed, “I’m not some little pissant stick-up-their-ass judgmental bitch, it’s just funny to hear that little Miss goody goody actually knows how to be a bad girl even this much. I mean seriously, you don’t screw around with anything you’re into, do you?” Shego’s grin twisted wickedly. “Or rather… you do, in this case.”
“Oh-hooowww…” Kim shook her head with an appalled smile. “Th-ha-at was bad.”
“Yeah, ok, I’ll give you that.” Shego responded, shaking her head slightly, “But it was still funny.”
Kim just shook her head again and looked at Shego with an amused little smile. However, as Kim was watching Shego looking back at her with her own amused expression, she couldn’t help but start thinking about what had happened since Shego backed away from her admittedly aggressive approach. Maybe it was her lessons with Corscan, or maybe it was just her long experience with Shego, but suddenly things just didn’t seem to be adding up. Aside from the obvious weirdness of Shego not going for something she obviously wanted, there had been an odd, almost imperceptible undercurrent of… tension, in Shego while she’d been skeptical and joking about Kim’s experience.
The more Kim thought about it, the more she was sure something was off, that there was a piece of the puzzle missing, something she just wasn’t getting. She kept turning the events over and over again in her mind—Shego’s reluctance, her incredulity, and then the all but unnoticeable hint of… nervousness to her joking, almost as if she were trying to… hide something or something. A split second later, an answer suddenly hit Kim that was so unbelievably impossible she immediately discarded it, only to have it come right back again even as she did. Despite the improbability, it fit. It made perfect sense for the subtle signs Kim had picked up on in hindsight, no matter how crazy it seemed.
“Shego?” Kim asked hesitantly, unable to resist finding out the truth, despite the inherent risks of asking the question. When the other woman looked up curiously at her tone and expression, saying “Yeah Kimmie?” Kim forced herself to continue; “Are you… are you a virgin?”
Shego’s eyes went as wide as an owl’s and she stared at Kim in shock for several long moments before sputtering loudly; “What? I am not a virgin! I’ve gotten laid dozens of times thank you very much!”
Kim simply stared at Shego calmly; the undercurrent was still there, she was sure of it now. After a few moments under that seemingly knowing gaze, Shego waffled; “Well, ok, so, maybe not dozens of times, but a lot anyway…” A few moments later she broke down further; “Well… a few.” Kim raised an eyebrow, and now it was Shego’s turn to be grateful it was so dark as she blushed and snapped; “All right! All right! The closest I’ve ever gotten is sucking a couple of cocks and eating some pussy, all right?”
Despite the previous conversation, Shego expected to shock Kim with her blunt declaration, but after a few seconds with no reaction from the girl she realized it wasn’t going to happen, and tried to rally with; “But don’t think I’m one of those lame wilting-flower-on-the-vine types; I might not have gone all the way yet, but I’m very friendly with myself if you get the drift!”
Kim quirked a little smile at that and said; “It’s ok Shego; I’m not some smug little judgmental bitch either, all right? It’s… not exactly something I’d have expected from someone who doesn’t care about rules like you, but there’s nothing wrong with it; it’s your body and your choice what you want to do with it.”
A part of Shego demanded she call Kim on not being judgmental, but she just couldn’t do it. In the face of the girl’s gentle understanding she felt her usual defensiveness about this particular aspect of her life desert her, leaving her feeling somewhat deflated and exposed. Maybe it was because she’d never really talked to anyone about it before—never had anyone to talk to about it before—or maybe it was because Kim already knew her so well, but either way, as much as she tried to resist, Shego found herself speaking again.
“It’s… it’s not that I don’t want to Kimmie. I wasn’t lying when I said I wanted nothing more than to lay you out on this table, and there’ve been plenty of other times when I was just as eager with other people over the years, but… I don’t know, it’s complicated.” Shego said, looking at the ground.
“It’s ok Shego, you don’t have to tell me anything.”
Shego looked up and replied; “No, no, I want to Kimmie… I don’t know why, but I want to.” Shego sighed. “And I suppose you deserve to know just what kind of a mess you’ll be getting into with me too.” At Kim’s nod Shego continued; “Ok, how to put this into words… When I was younger, well, you know, the green skin and the powers, right? Not exactly the greatest confidence builder when it came to self-image to begin with. On top of that, there was the whole superhero gig for three years or so, and from there it was straight into being a super villain, without much of a pause.”
Kim nodded again, and Shego went on; “So, in all those years, well, obviously I got over the whole self-image thing, right?” Shego smirked and Kim smiled back. “But… there was one thing that followed me and I haven’t been able to shake it yet.”
Shego took a deep breath before continuing; “When I was younger, the kinds of people I attracted, well… it was usually because of the way I looked or because I was a superhero—or later, a super villain—and well, it got to me. As much as my overactive sex drive wanted to do it, it never felt right, y’know? I knew that whoever I was with didn’t want me, they wanted whatever their fetish was for; the freak, the super hero, or the badass villain, and as much as I wanted to fuck, in the end I just couldn’t get over that, so I could never go through with it. I just couldn’t shake that twisty little feeling that all I was to them was… well, what I was, but not who I was, y’know? I mean, I’m not stupid; I know that some of them must have been interested in me, or wanted to get in my pants just because I was hot, and I’d’a been ok with that even, but I could never get away from that little voice telling me it was the other reasons they were interested in me.”
Shego sighed, and Kim felt a strong sense of compassion for the other woman’s unexpected but open display of vulnerability. She couldn’t believe that Shego was opening up to her like this, and she was deeply moved by it. However, she was also aware that this was Shego she was dealing with, and she knew that if she tried to be sympathetic in any way, odds were Shego would take it as pity instead, and Kim knew that wouldn’t end well at all, so she was very careful when she responded to her.
“I think I understand Shego, at least a little. I’ve had a few obsessive or fascinated fan types gush over or even come on to me over the years, and I didn’t really like it all that much either. I can imagine how much worse it would be having that come into sex as well.”
“I don’t think you do Kimmie.” Shego sighed. “It’s not just not liking it anymore, it’s evolved into a real problem; an outright block. In the last few years I’ve loosened up a lot—like I said, I’m over the whole self-image thing now, right? But even so, well… I’m not too proud of this Kimmie, but a few times I even tried to pay for it, and even that didn’t work. That goddamn voice would just not stop whispering that the only reason they were there with me was what I was, even though I knew they weren’t. I mean Christ, if they can fuck some short, fat, hairy bald guy who stinks of garlic and onions, or some over-the-hill cougar who’s had so much plastic surgery she looks like she’s stepped out of a wind tunnel, then they sure as fuck aren’t gonna care about what I am, right? They’re there for one thing and one thing only: the money. But I still couldn’t do it.”
Shego looked away and then looked back, shaking her head and growling in frustration. “You have no idea how frustrating it is to want something so much and not be able to have it because you’re the one standing in your own way. Seriously, I want you so bad right now I can almost taste it Kimmie, but I’m also sure that no matter how good you are, or how into it I am, right about when you’re rounding second base and heading for third, I’m gonna freeze up and not be able to keep going, and that totally sucks!”
Kim shook her head sadly and answered; “No… I guess you’re right Shego, I don’t know what that’s like. Not really anyway. I’ve had my own problems over the years with fears and doubts, but nothing like that. But I can understand it at least.”
Kim moved forward and placed her left hand on Shego’s right shoulder, giving it a little comforting squeeze. “And I want you to know that it’s ok, really. It’s just another little snag in the big mess that figuring out what we are already is anyway, right?” Kim smiled warmly. “And I’ll give you as much time as you need to get over this little problem of yours.” Kim suddenly looked down for a moment before looking back up shyly, adding; “That is… assuming you want to anyway.”
Shego smiled warmly and used her left hand to gently brush Kim’s hair back over her ear and away from her face, her dark green eyes shimmering as she said; “How could I not want that Princess?”
Kim smiled and pulled Shego closer, craning her neck as she stretched up to give Shego a soft, tender kiss that was like warm liquid silk brushing across her lips. A moment later Shego responded, warm and gentle as well, and the two women lost themselves for a time in the soft sweetness of each other’s mouths and the warmth of their bodies pressed against one another.
When the kiss finally ended, Kim held herself against Shego, resting her cheek on the other woman’s chest, listening to her heartbeat while drawing the strong fragrance of her leather jacket and smooth personal scent deep into her lungs. While she did, Shego rested her head against Kim’s, softly inhaling the subtle mix of the natural scent of the girl’s hair and traces of herbal shampoo.
After a few long moments, Shego sighed deeply and said; “You know this is crazy, right Kimmie?”
Kim pulled back from Shego, keeping her arms wrapped around the taller woman’s waist and looking her deep in the eyes, her own fern-green eyes shimmering with amusement and warmth.
“Yeah, I know Shego. Totally and completely fucked up beyond belief. But I don’t care. Whatever it is we have between us, I want to find out, because standing here now, with you, like this? I don’t know why, but it feels right Shego, and that’s all that matters to me.”
“Heh… guess you’re a little crazy too Kimmie.” Shego smiled softly. “But I’m glad you are.”
Kim gave Shego a little hug, and then looked up at her again, her expression turning considering. After a few more moments, she quirked an eyebrow and said; “But I’m not the only one here who’s crazy Shego.”
“Hunh? Wha’d’ya mean Princess? I’m a villain, remember? I don’t have any rules I need to play by.” Shego smirked as she looked down at Kim.
“Oh really? And that includes winning I suppose…” Kim smirked back.
“The hell are you rambling about Kimmie?” Shego asked, honestly confused now.
Kim’s smile twisted even further, although her eyes flashed with just a hint of annoyance and challenge as she asked; “Just how long have you been holding back so much during our fights Shego? A year? Two? Since the very beginning?”
Shego’s eyes widened and she stepped back from Kim, stammering; “I don’t know what you’re talking about Kimmie.”
“Yeah, right!” Kim snorted, cocking her head slightly and crossing her arms beneath her breasts. “Don’t try and give me that innocent crap Shego; I saw how you fought me a few days ago. With what I’ve learned so far from Corscan teaching me [The Way], I know that there’s no way you could have changed your fighting style that much in just a month and a half. Not and have it so well integrated with your normal technique anyway. So that means you’ve known how to fight like that for a long time now, and as much as I hate to admit it, that means you could have taken me apart with one arm tied behind your back any time you wanted!”
Shego’s eyes widened even more than when Kim had asked her if she was a virgin, and her jaw literally dropped in shock. It took a long three count before she finally snapped herself out of it with a sharp shake of her head and quickly, intently asked; “What did you just say Kimmie?”
“I said I know you couldn’t have integrated a new style into your technique so thoroughly in such a short time Shego. Which means up until a few months ago, you could have kicked my ass whenever you wanted to, but you didn’t.”
“No no no! I meant what you said about [The Way]! You said that Herculina was teaching you [The Way]?”
“Ahhhh… yeah? So?”
“And you’re sure she called it [The Way]? Not [the way] or [The way] or [the Way] or [The Way] of something or other?” Shego questioned with a demanding focus.
Kim’s brow furrowed slightly as she concentrated on the differences in pronunciation Shego was stressing, and after a long moment to consider, she answered; “Yeah Shego, I’m absolutely sure it’s [The Way], why?”
“Ok, that’s it,” Shego said sharply while standing up straight. “Time to go Princess.”
“What are you talking about Shego?” Kim asked, thoroughly confused now.
“We need to go have a little chat with your girlfriend, now!” Shego replied, her eyes flashing with a fierce intensity.
