Chapter Thirty One: King and Queen in Matrimony
Sleeping Beauty's Castle, Disneyland Park, Anaheim, CA, April 15th, 2014, 5:00 PM
The sun was setting in the royal blue sky, accompanied by feathery sherbet clouds on a beautiful April day. It had finally arrived, the day of Duncan and Courtney's wedding. Three and a half months of planning would finally culminate in this lovely ceremony.
Sleeping Beauty's Castle was closed off to the public and lit up in pinks and purples, as was Fantasyland, but that didn't stop a huge crowd from gathering around to watch the wedding. Disneyland only allowed for the weddings to occur either before opening hours or after closing hours, but Joan was able to persuade them otherwise. The aisle was covered in white carpet with pink rose petals barricading either side of it, leading up to podium in front of the castle, where the officiator stood with a Groom Mickey Mouse and a Bride Minnie Mouse on their respective sides, the pond had pink carnations and roses strewn all over with a few black and white swans. Pink and blue spun taffeta with purple tulips draped the backs of the one hundred and fifty plus chairs, with an interesting multitude of guests.
Due to George Clooney's involvement in the movie, it seemed like he and every big name in Hollywood were present. Duncan's new party buddies Jeff Bridges and John Goodman were there, as well as George Clooney himself, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Matthew McConaughey, Halle Berry, Leah Remini, Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Cate Blanchett, Julianne Moore, Danny Cevallos, Mark Geragos, Gloria Allred, Anderson Cooper, Nancy Grace, Mariska Hargitay, Jude Law, Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Amy Adams, Robert Downey, Jr, Nicole Kidman, the entire casts of The Walking Dead and Mad Men, The Frat Pack, Vera Famiga, Bruno Mars, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Adam Sandler, Kaley Cucuo, Kevin Spacey, Jackie Collins, Tom Hanks, Anne Hathaway, Liam Nesson, Elizabeth Banks, Jonah Hill, Idina Menzel, Christian Bale, Natalie Portman, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Matt Damon, Lisa Vanderpump, and many more. Duncan wasn't sure if they were there for the movie or not or just for publicity, but it didn't matter because they had maxed out the McKay-Harrister registries at Tiffany's, Neiman Marcus, and Williams Sonoma.
The groom was feeling a mixture of emotions, from excitement to nervous. He was elated he had found somebody to marry and that she was the love of his life, but what if he wasn't a good husband? Duncan couldn't stop bouncing up and down on the balls of his feet, knowing he was breaking out into a sweat. Is Courtney feeling like this also?
"Only Time" by Enya started playing, the photographer and videographer went to work filming as the bridal party and groomsmen walked down the aisle in alternating ice pink and ice blue satin dresses with the Bvlgari dangling star necklaces and bouquets of dyed pink and blue dendrobium orchids. Bridgette, Lindsay, Sierra, LeShawna, Katie, and Dawn wore pink strapless dresses while Zoey, Dakota, Izzy, Heather, and Sadie wore blue halter V-neck dresses. The groomsmen wore matching ties to the girl their arm was linked through. Bridgette with Geoff, Zoey with Mike, Lindsay with Tyler, Dakota with Sam, Sierra with Cody, Izzy with Owen, LeShawna with Lightening, Heather with Jose, Katie with DJ, Sadie with Duncan's fraternity buddy Will, and Dawn with Cameron. Duncan didn't mind having the girl's boyfriends as his groomsmen, he had gotten pretty friendly with all of them, as well as with DJ. After they parted to their respective sides, Geoff could tell that something was up with Duncan. "What's the matter, Dunk? You look like you're gonna hurl!" He leaned in and whispered. Duncan looked over and shook his head.
"No, that's not it. I'm a little tense is all." He wiped his brow and scratched the back of his head, feeling his face slightly flush.
Tyler happened to overhear and looked over. "Why? You've got it all, man! Brains, money, power, and you're about to marry the girl you love."
He's right, I really do have it all. Why am I worrying? I deserve to revel and enjoy.
"Sch-yeah, bro! Don't worry." Geoff patted him on the back.
"Once you see her in the gown, it'll all kick in and you'll be fine." Mike piped up.
"I can't wait for the reception… and the foooooodddd." Owen drooled, which made all the guys start laughing, a picture perfect moment.
"Open My Eyes" by Buckcherry started playing and everybody grew silent. Both Duncan and Courtney agreed to play something out of the box for the bridal walk, and he picked the song, saying it was beautiful yet underrated. Rose, Courtney's five year old niece and the flower girl, scattered pink rose petals down the aisle as she walked in a matching pink flower girl dress, her arm linked with her older brother Wade, Courtney's seven year old nephew and the ring bearer. Right before the wedding, Duncan had located and flew Brick and his family out from Texas to California as a surprise. He thought that family should be together, especially since he and Joan had made amends. While Brick was very willing to mend things with his baby sister, feeling guilty for abandoning her and how estranged things had become between them, their mother was a different story. She had called Courtney a sinning whore in the eyes of The Lord, which caused Duncan to yell at her and hang up the phone. Courtney was too good for that psycho loon and didn't need her, which is why Duncan only surprised her with Brick. She didn't seem to notice, especially since she had Joan, who felt more like a mother in such a short amount of time than her real mother did in her whole life. After a teary reunion, the siblings were closer than they had ever been.
Courtney heavily sighed as the carriage started moving to the castle from the front of the park, twiddling her thumbs against her bridal bouquet of pink and white glitter tipped gardenias and stargazer lilies wrapped in pink, blue, and lilac rhinestoned taffeta with twinkle lights inside.
What if I'm not a good wife? What if he cheats or leaves me? She couldn't believe that she was a bit edgy. It came from waiting for the other shoe to drop, that she was going to wake up from the dream and be back in her crummy life, still dancing at The Tainted Kitty, being lusted after by Chris and being with Justin, loathing her existence. Things are different now. You're safe. Of course he loves you. Look at everything he's done, he almost lost his life and you almost gave him up. This is the path you were meant to take, be free and stroll down it! She giggled to herself and enjoyed the ride, thinking on her Something Four. Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, and Something Blue. Something Old was a lapis lazuli necklace that her father had left in his will for her when she turned eighteen that belonged to her grandmother, Something New was a pair of Manolo Blahnik Sedaraby soft pink satin jeweled heels that the bridal party all chipped in to buy for her, Something Borrowed was a pair of pink diamond earrings that Duncan's father had given to Joan, and Something Blue was her wedding lingerie, which she was sure her husband to be would definitely love…
Duncan watched Cinderella's white horse drawn glass pumpkin carriage pull up in front of the aisle as the song hit the last minute and a half and the guests rose to their feet. Brick proudly stepped up to the side of the carriage while the footman opened the door. When Duncan saw her step out of the carriage, his heart stopped. Courtney was wearing a beautiful satin empire waisted Monique Lhuillier gown that was swirled in white and baby pink with a sweetheart neckline. Her hair was straightened with a few light crimps, the makeup in light pinks made her eyes and lips pop, she looked absolutely stunning, just like on their birthday. The sight of her brought Duncan to tears, he couldn't believe that he had landed such an exquisite gem, both inside and out. Mike's words rang true, all the worries washed away the moment he saw his bride.
The final minute of the song played as Brick linked arms with Courtney and they walked down the aisle, both the dress train and veil on her head were almost as long as the entire walkway. She couldn't take her eyes off of Duncan, he looked beyond dashing in his all black Valentino tuxedo with a pink and blue swirled tie and orchid, his hair out of his face but messy in a tasteful and sexy way. Courtney giggled at the sight of her handsome groom, completely oblivious to the star studded event and crowd spectacle her wedding was. They could have gotten married at The Elvis Chapel in Law Vegas, all that mattered was each other. Brick lifted Courtney's veil and gave her a kiss on the cheek once they got up there, proud to be the one giving his baby sister away, and sat down. Duncan reached out and took Courtney's hand in his, both of them smiling as she walked up the two steps onto the platform and the song ended.
"You look stunning." He whispered, making her blush.
"So do you."
The guests sat down and the wedding officiator Fred began the ceremony.
"Ladies and gentleman, friends and family, to all present I say: We are gathered here today, not to witness the beginning of what will be, but rather what already is! We do not create this marriage, because we cannot. We can and do, however, celebrate with Duncan Harrister and Courtney McKay the wondrous and joyful occurrence that has already taken place in their lives, and the commitment they make today. Through their time together, they have come to realize that their personal dreams, hopes, and goals are more attainable and more meaningful through the combined effort and mutual support provided in love, commitment, and family. With that same love and commitment, they have decided to live the remainder of their lives together as husband and wife.
Today, as you join yourselves in marriage, there is a vast and unknown future stretching out before you. The possibilities and potentials of your married life are great; and now falls upon your shoulders the task of choosing your values and making real your dreams. Through your commitment to each other, may you grow and nurture a love that makes both of you better people, a love that continues to give you great joy, and also a passion for living that provides you with energy and patience to face the responsibilities of life.
On this day, you enter as individuals, but you will leave here as husband and wife, blending your lives, expanding your family ties, and embarking upon the grandest adventure of human interaction. The story of your life together is still yours to write. All those present have come to witness and celebrate your devotion- eager to be a part of the story not yet told."
In the race of life, they had already won, now it was time to accept their award: Each other. Fred then turned to Duncan.
"Do you Duncan Elliot, take Courtney Sophia to be your lawfully wedded wife, your partner in life and sharing your path; equal in love, a mirror for your true self? Do promise to love, honor, and cherish, through joyful good times and sorrowful bad times, sickness and health, and whatever challenges you may face, for as long as you both shall live?"
"I do." Duncan said without hesitating, making their smiles broaden. The officiator turned to Courtney.
"Do you, Courtney Sophia, take Duncan Elliot to be your lawfully wedded husband, your partner in life and sharing your path; equal in love, a mirror for your true self? Do you promise to love, honor, and cherish, through joyful good times and sorrowful bad times, sickness and health, and whatever challenges you may face, for as long as you both shall live?"
"I do." Courtney's eyes were sparkling as she spoke.
"I believe the couple have prepared their own personal vows?"
They both nodded. "I'd like to go first." Courtney said.
"By all means."
Courtney handed her bouquet to Bridgette, taking Duncan's hands in both of hers and smiled lovingly at her husband.
"Duncan, my dark knight. The first time we met, I would have said "When human life is proven on Mars." if somebody had told me that I'd be marrying you. The punk I met then is not the man standing in front of me today. You have taught me that first impressions can sometimes be misleading and that a person is deeper underneath than they let on. Who I thought was egotistical, uncouth, puerile, and obtuse turned out to be intelligent, affectionate, magnanimous, and benevolent, and so much more, beyond what the eye could see. You continue to constantly prove that to me long after you didn't have to. Even though most people would think that us falling so madly in love in such a short amount of time would be a cause for failure, I see it as a kismet. Before meeting you, the part of me that believed in love and fairytales had died prematurely, but you revitalized the faith in me and how I honestly deserved it. Life is so beautiful and unexpected, from the good and bad, we take it all and keep walking. Things won't always be a dream come true, but I wouldn't have it any other way. In four months, you have done more for me than anybody else in my whole life, my thanks to you is my eternal love. You saved me from myself when I wanted to stop going, you are my happy ending, and I love you with all my heart."
There was a laugh in the beginning, but mostly a slew of "Awws!" and sniffles coming from the crowd. Duncan's heart swelled with adoration, her vows left him speechless, they were filled with true devotion. So speechless, that he had actually lost his train of thought.
"Duncan, it's your turn."
Upon hearing that, he froze. Duncan hadn't exactly written his vows out, he wanted to say so much that he didn't know what to say, but he was suddenly drawing a blank and gripped Courtney's hands tighter.
"Courtney, I, uh-"
She looked at him wide eyed and with concern, he could hear the guests whispering, which made his brow start sweating. Geoff leaned in and whispered in his ear.
"Just speak from the heart, man." He was right, it was all he had to do.
"Got it." Duncan whispered back before clearing his throat and turning to Courtney with a sheepish grin.
"Courtney, my sweet girl. Unlike you, that first night we met, I knew you would be a part of my life somehow, it was simply a matter of when. I'm a stubborn ass, I don't stop until I get what I want, and what I wanted was you. We are such opposites that it makes us perfectly imperfect for one another. You're obstinate and dogmatic and uptight, I'm a laid-back smart alec liberal. In all honesty, sometimes you really are a pain in my ass." He watched as Courtney's eyes widened and her mouth flew open, as well as the audience gasping. "Sometimes, but I love you more than you could ever know." Her smile returned and the guests calmed down. "I once told you that I couldn't even imagine the rest of my days without you, and I still can't. When I returned back to the normal world four months ago, I had changed for the better, but you were the one that taught me to grow up and leave my old ways behind. It made me believe that things do happen for a reason, and that if I hadn't gotten in trouble, our paths never would have crossed. In four months, we have undergone more than most couples do in a lifetime. Honestly, if I had to do it all over again, I would. Nothing means more to me than you, and I meant what I said about risking my life in a second to save yours. A life without you, even one of luxury, is one not worth living. You are everything I could ever ask for in a woman and in a wife, my sexy babe. A love like ours is sublime, and I wanna rock you until the end of time.." He watched as Courtney giggled and her eyes filled with happy tears. It was all she needed to hear. The cooing of the audience resumed, they were obviously moved by the speech as well.
Fred smiled. "Now, for the exchanging of the rings." Duncan turned to Geoff, who took the ring from Wade and handed it to him. He grabbed Courtney's hand.
"I, Duncan, give you, Courtney this ring as an eternal symbol of my love and commitment to you. Through this ring, I accept you as my wife, now and for all time. I give you this ring, as I give to you all that I am, and accept from you, all that you are. With this ring, I thee wed, and with it, I bestow upon thee all the treasures of my mind, heart, and hands."
He slipped the band on her finger. Courtney turned to Bridgette, who took the ring from Wade and handed it to her. She grabbed Duncan's hand.
"I, Courtney, give you, Duncan, this ring as an eternal symbol of my love and commitment to you. Through this ring, I accept you as my husband, now and for all time. I give you this ring, as I give to you all that I am, and accept from you, all that you are. With this ring, I thee wed, and with it, I bestow upon thee all the treasures of my mind, heart, and hands." She slipped the band on his finger, and they were officially bound in matrimony. Duncan caught a glace of Joan crying as Fred continued.
"As this ceremony comes to a close, my final words I bestow onto you: Duncan and Courtney, remember to treat yourselves and each other with respect, and remind yourselves often of what brought you together. Take responsibility for making the other feel safe, and give the highest priority to the tenderness, gentleness and kindness that your connection deserves. When frustration, difficulty and fear assail your relationship, as they threaten all relationships at some time or another, remember to focus on what is right between you, not just the part that seems wrong. In this way, you can survive the times when clouds drift across the face of the sun in your lives, remembering that, just because you may lose sight of it for a moment, does not mean the sun has gone away. And, if each of you takes responsibility for the quality of your life together, it will be marked by abundance and delight.
May you always need one another, not to fill an emptiness, but to help each other know your fullness. May you want one another, but not out of lack. May you embrace one another, but not encircle one another. May you succeed in all important ways with each other, and not fail in the little graces. May you have happiness, and may you find it in making one another happy. May you have love, and may you find it in loving one another.
No other human ties are more tender and no other vows more important than those you are about to take. Both of you come to this day with the deep realization that the contract of marriage is sacred as are all of its obligations and responsibilities.
By the powers vested in me by the State of California, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride!"
This was the moment they had all been waiting for. "Wouldn't It Be Nice" by The Beach Boys started playing as their recessional song. Duncan was so excited that he grabbed Courtney and dipped her in a loving and eager kiss, she squealed in his mouth, completely surprised. It looked exactly like that black and white photograph, V-J Day in Times Square, except for Courtney's leg was all the way up. Mickey and Minnie both threw their hands up in the air and made excited head movements before clapping. Everybody rose to their feet, clapping and cheering, the crowd was even louder, as they separated and started laughing. Courtney wrapped her arms around Duncan's neck, their foreheads pressed together, both of them beaming, and kissed him.
AN HOUR LATER
After what seemed like endless photos and making the rounds of greeting all the guests, it was time for the wedding reception at the Disney Animation Building inside California Adventure. The sun had set and the sky was in the midst of twilight, the light colors had considerably darkened, a few stars had poked out as well. Courtney and Duncan got inside the carriage, waiting to make their way over to the next park. It was exactly like the night of their birthday, they couldn't stop smiling and kissing, they were forever bound and couldn't be happier. Courtney sat in Duncan's lap with her legs across the seat and her arms wrapped around his neck.
"I can't believe we're actually married, Dunky, and that we had this phenomenal wedding. Did you see that crowd?! It was insane!" She giggled, they were both in complete euphoria. He smiled, staring down at his gorgeous bride.
"It was awesome, crowds eat up this kind of thing, but I told you that I'd give you the wedding of your dreams. Anything for my princess." Duncan gave her an affectionate kiss.
"We're married now, I think I'm a queen."
He rolled his eyes and smirked. "True, the queen to my king, baby. Can you believe all the celebrity guests that showed up?"
"No! I thought George was kidding, I didn't believe it until I checked the registries. Do you think it's only for the movie or just to be here?"
"I don't know, maybe both, but they were surprisingly genuine. Doesn't matter, now we are totally stocked up to move into our new place! I wonder if they'll all come to the baby shower." Duncan rested his hand on Courtney's stomach and they both smiled at their baby growing inside her.
"Who knows, maybe if the movie is still in production. I'm hardly showing, do you think they'll believe us when we announce that we're pregnant?"
He nodded. "Yes, and the timing is right, almost four months. Have I told you how insanely hot you look in this dress?"
"You have, and you look very handsome as well. I have a feeling you'll like what you see underneath the dress tonight." She smirked and winked, which made him hot. He leaned in and kissed her passionately, before maneuvering her into his lap. Duncan's hands traveled all over Courtney's body, up her legs, caressing her ass, and groping her boobs, making her moan into his mouth and rub herself onto his stiffening erection. The insatiable passion they had for one another would never die down, it was only a matter of when to act out on it.
"Why wait for tonight? I want to see it right now." Duncan had a devilish glint in his eyes, which made Courtney roll hers at him.
"Are you serious? No way, everybody would see us! This carriage is made entirely out of glass, you know." There would always be a bit of a bad boy in him, it was something she had already adjusted to.
"Come on, Courtney. Let me have a preview. I'm your husband now, do you really want to start off this marriage by saying no to the best sex of your life?"
She scoffed. "Again, I knew I shouldn't have told you that."
Duncan laughed. "Please, Court. I know I'll be quiet, but I can't say the same for you. Besides, nobody will see me, not with this insane dress train you have." Before she could process what he was about to do, Duncan turned her around on the booth and got down on the floor. Courtney's eyes went wide.
"Duncan, no! Not here! We'll get banned for life! Disneyland still has a blacklist!"
He scoffed, lifting up her dress. "Yeah, and we wouldn't ever get on it. Not after the huge amount of publicity and ticket sales we just provided them with. Relax, babe. I wanna treat my wife, so let me." Duncan smiled warmly, which temporarily distracted her as he crawled inside her dress. It was a good thing the train was so long, Duncan's body underneath was barely noticeable. Courtney felt tiny electric jolts as his mouth kissed and nipped up her silky legs, making her giggle. Duncan made his way up and was facing her blue and white satin panties. He brought his hands to her butt and grinned to realize she was wearing a thong.
"A thong on your wedding day? Aren't we a naughty girl?" Courtney felt herself flush despite her confidence. Duncan took her panties off, which made her freeze.
"Duncan! I need those! Put them back on, now!" She could tell he was smirking that signature smirk of his.
"No way, I want you to go the rest of the night without these. Live a little, nobody will know the difference." He stuffed the tiny thong into his pocket, the thought of her going commando only made him harder.
"I do know how to live a little, but I also know when it's appropriate to be classy, not trashy!" The nagging was starting already, but it was kind of adorable considering the circumstances, except he wanted to have some sexy fun with his girl. Duncan made a trail of kisses across her pelvis and in a U-shape pattern on her lower lips, making Courtney squirm and giggle with a small moan here and there.
"Be quiet, Princess. You don't want to get us thrown out of Disneyland, do you?"
"Hey, I told you that- mmm!" Duncan had known that would distract her, giving him perfect timing to dip his fingers inside her womanhood. Courtney gasped, becoming very aroused by what he was doing. The fear of getting caught was slowly turning into a thrilling excitement, until she felt the front of the carriage start to sink a little and realized it was the coachmen.
"We'll be making our way over to the reception, Mr. and Mrs. Harrister." She panicked a little, but forced herself to act as normal as possible.
"G-got it-it." Duncan began drumming his fingers inside her, painfully slow, one at a time, it was driving Courtney crazy.
"Quite teasing!" She hissed.
"I'm sorry, what did you say, miss?"
"N-nothing. We're ready!" Courtney tried to push him off, but he had wrapped her legs around his lower back.
"Wonderful! Don't forget to wave, the entire park is watching!" The coachmen pulled the reins and the horses started trotting away from the castle. Upon hearing this, Duncan began drumming his fingers faster, leaving her breathless and hoping the ride was a long one. Courtney looked out the window to the screaming crowd, people waving and cheering, camera flashes going off and cell phones taping everything. Courtney felt like a princess, except for her prince shamelessly going down on her.
"I'm gonna kill you, Duncan." She said through gritted teeth, as she started smiling and waving to the crowd, which made him daringly slip his tongue in, making her let out a moan that was forced into a giggle.
His tongue was acting like a pinball in a machine, going in all different directions. North, South, East, West. Horizontally, vertically, in zig zags and spiraling circles, even a square. Courtney was unable to control the squirming and could only giggle to replace the loud moans she wanted to release instead. Duncan continued to simultaneous pleasure her with both his skillful tongue and fingers, the adventure of it all leaving him with a nut cracking hard on. They were already to the end of Disneyland and crossing to California Adventure, it was a bit unfortunate that the crowd had been taped off to the sides and this wouldn't be elongated as usual, a courtesy that Duncan loved to provide and Courtney loved to receive.
Courtney's lower body moved in circles around his face, silently moaning at the forbidden sexual sensation she was receiving, he knew how to make her feel desired and scandalous all in one. This would certainly be a story to tell the gang later on… Duncan was cracking up on the inside over her giggling to conceal the soon to be inevitable orgasm that was coming. He sucked her clit roughly as his tongue and fingers darted and probed in unison. The carriage came to a screeching halt, which made the horses start neighing, allowing Courtney to let out a mild squeal, her body trembling upon the release of rapture and her mind fogged with the lustful miasma. Knowing she was going to scream and without properly thinking, Courtney took one of the lilies out of her bouquet and bit down on the branch, the sweet but nasty flower taste filling her mouth as she rode out her orgasm, Duncan drinking her flavorful juices until her body had stopped rocking and he could hear her trying to catch her breath. He licked his lips and fingers, popping out from under the dress and sitting next to Courtney. She looked over at him with an exhausted but satisfied grin.
"That was fantastic." Courtney gulped, her breathing getting back to normal as she stuck the lily back in her bouquet. "You're still gonna get it, later."
Duncan smirked, fully ready for whatever she had planned. "It was worth it. If only all those people filming knew what was really going on the whole ride." She couldn't help but laugh and he brought his lips to hers in a zealous kiss, except he paused and pulled back with a confused look on his face. "Why does your mouth taste like grass?"
Courtney blushed a little, embarrassed over the silliness of her impulsive action. "I had to bite down on one of my flowers so I couldn't scream." Duncan started cracking up over that and the look on her face.
"That is priceless! God, I love you, Courtney."
She smiled at him with all the love in the world. "I love you, too, Duncan."
They leaned in, resuming that zealous kiss, not even noticing that the footman had opened the door and was calling out to them.
