Lilo's eyes flickered open. The room's large glass window was before her, offering her first moments of consciousness an incredible view of the stars twinkling amongst the blackness of space. She noticed the covers had been folded back on the other side of the bed, and an empty spot where Ani had gone to sleep. Lilo gently lifted Stitch's arm off her and slipped out from under the sheets. It had been almost four days since they took off from Hawaii. Reuben leaned forward and pressed a button his side of the console. A holographic display of the ship appeared in front of them, with five red dots illuminated amongst the green light.
"There's us," Reuben said as he pointed at two dots right next to each other. "Those are the sleeping quarters, so there are Victoria and Stitch," Reuben pointed at two separate dots on the level above them. "Which means Ani is down here, on the observation deck." A lone red dot sat at the very front of the ship, just a few levels below.
"Thanks, Reuben," Lilo planted a soft kiss on his mouth. "I should go down and see her. We haven't had much of a chance to talk with all that's been going on." Lilo slipped off the chair and walked towards the door. It slid open and she paused as Lilo paused as she walked through it.
"Reuben?" she asked, looking back. The experiment spun his chair around.
"Yeah?" he asked. Lilo smiled at him.
