Closing his eyes, he quickly opened them, again, making sure this reality was not a product of blurry vision. Sure enough, it was very tangible. The unknown lady's lips were making contact with Pabu’s furry head now, and Pabu was happy, almost purring like a wild meer-cat.
”Umm…what I meant was...Pabu’s very sympathetic towards strangers at …times…” he said slowly, continuing his walk. The object of Pabu’s compassion was very…magnetic; compelling, beautiful with her wild, curly hair tumbling down her shoulders and back, the almond-shape of her wide eyes framed with long lashes that curled at the ends were like liquid steel, inviting him to drown and harden.
”Hey it’s okay, trust me, I’m not at all offended,” she replied, a small smile creeping across a face made from smooth, bronze toned porcelain, her lips full, shaped with the most prominent Cupid’s bow he’d ever seen on a human being, her hair, a dark brown ocean of curls and waves about her heart-shaped face, as if Hephaestus, Aphrodite, and Pygmalion had taken turns in her divine creation. So bewitched, he couldn’t find the words to continue right then, for his eyes were listening to hers, a strange sensation running from his fingertips to his brain.
“Oh!” he shuddered suddenly, while the unknown lady raked her fingers through Pabu's fluffy tail.
“You okay?” she asked, with a new look of concern. Blushing, the young man nodded.
”Yeah, I'm fine ...considering,” he answered, shaking his head. He swore he’d seen those eyes before…the gleam, the dark elements that filled her irises that made them appear like chrome was a rare find in anyone…
”Miss, I'm not trying to sound corny, but ...have…we..met before?” he asked, rubbing the back of his neck nervously, his cheeks getting redder. “You seem…really familiar to me.”
“Of course, I should,” she answered matter-a-factly, pressing her lips together first, before smiling again, she gave Pabu, who was currently perched on her shoulder, a kiss on the nose.
”It’s good to see you, Bolin,” she began boldly, stepping closer to him, a curl falling into her face. “I didn’t think I’d ever see and you and Mako, again…until I heard you guys were on a Pro Bending team.”
Bolin, gasped, clapping a hand over his mouth. He knew those shiny chrome eyes could belong to one person, and one person, only...
