The brothers held hands and gave each other warm, meaningful looks. Their pleasure was infectious; Lady Jaye felt a kind of warmth and happiness spread through her being. She was taken to an armory and fitted into a deep red uniform that was heavily padded and more like armor than what the guards in red wore. As the scarred twin handed her a staff, she couldn't help but take step back, wondering if he was passing it over with the same hand he touched his brother's ass with. She felt a surge of fear when their eyes widened in shock, and they gave one another a puzzled look. Oh shiiiiitt....they can read minds... she remembered. They didn't say anything about it, however, and she reminded herself that she needed to guard her thoughts better in the future. They explained how the staff worked in their usual way. "These staffs run off of our psychic energy..." "...they have the ability to open certain doors and expel a painful charge.." "...You will be connected with us telepathically so do not be startled..." "...if you hear us speak an order into your mind.."
The twins were so excited that they gave Lady Jaye her first view of the Temple of the Brothers of Light as they presented her as the foundation of their future army. She used her staff to open a door for the first time that led her to a stage where Tomax and Xamot talked about their glorious plans for world domination before a crowd gazing upon them in adoration, as if this insanity was their greatest desire. Behind the twins was an enormous statue made in their likeness with arms together holding a pyramid giving forth a blinding light. She averted her eyes and noticed Lola standing near the front of the crowd, eyes shining with happiness.
Later that afternoon, Lady Jaye managed to get a moment to herself. She gave Lola the excuse that the twins had an errand for her, then she went to visit Jacob. Two guards were nearby; she told them she needed to see him on behalf of the Masters. She was astonished when they took that explanation without question, even helping her with directions to the room he was being held in.
Upon arrival, Lady Jaye kept her staff ready and charged. She didn't want Jacob to flip out and attack her. When she entered the room, she called out his name. He was sitting in a chair looking subdued and didn't so much as look her way. "I'm not here to cause you any problems," she said, "I just got here a few days ago and want to know what's going on here. I was hoping to ask you a few questions."
Jacob looked up and replied sharply, "The Brothers of Light, they are demons with mind control powers. They have almost everyone here in a brainwashed trance."
"-But you don't think they are actual demons do you? -Like from hell?" Lady Jaye asked.
"I don't know..." Jacob said shaking his head, "I don't know what they are. I never even knew people with psychic abilities really existed. They can get into your head and read your innermost thoughts. It's all part of their game, to find out the best way to work on you and get you to like them. Then they subtly hypnotize you into being devoted to them, worshiping them. They claim to be divine angelic beings. If you resist and they can't dissolve your will fast enough, then they make a spectacle of you in front of all their disciples, pushing you in front of that light in the temple and forcing their wills into your mind immediately. They've done that to me several times, yet I've been able to snap out of it after a while somehow. I'm afraid one day either the mind control will become permanent or my confinement will."
Lady Jaye was chilled. Did those twins do this to Lola? She asked, "How were you able to snap out of the mind control?"
"I'm not sure. It may be something deep inside of me resists it all along. Sometimes I can get one of the other people to snap out of it by striking them." Jacob answered, then he lowered his voice and said, "It might be permanent for some people, the ones who have been here the longest. One time I thought it would be easier to kill the twins if I jarred one of the other disciples out of his stupor and convinced him to help me. I tried this with Brother Franz, who has been here the longest. It didn't work. He ended up blowing the whistle on me. He'll probably be a slave to them for the rest of his life. They have to be killed in order to free everyone. You could even do it if you got close enough to them. It would be easier than you'd think. All you'd have to do is get to one of them, maybe snap his neck with your staff or impale him. The other would fall down in shock and would be easy to do in. That's their weakness; one will always be overwhelmed by the experience of the other."
Lady Jaye frowned in concentration. The Brothers of Light were ridiculous assholes for sure, but they didn't deserve to die. She saw them as being like a pie-in-the-sky couple who were too wrapped up in each other to realize how absurd and insane their dreams were. Then they had the dangerous ability to con other people into going along. She remembered Lola telling her they wanted to make places like this all over the world, but she wondered when was the last time the twins had been out of this one? She imagined walking down any city street dressed as she was at the side the Brothers of Light in their getup and supposed she would die of embarrassment. The information about their sympathetic pain was useful, however, especially since she had seen it in action the day before. On this train of thought, she said, "My sister is having a child by one of them, yet they seem to have an unhealthy relationship with each other."
"Of course they do," Jacob replied in disgust, "Don't let the disciples fool you with that 'the masters need their afternoon nap because they are so exhausted from focusing their powers to hold this world together' nonsense. Late afternoon is their favorite time to whack each other off after a long morning of rubbing on each other. Sometimes they even take their obscene pleasure out in the open."
"Well, I need to snap my sister out of the mind control. Do you want to come with me when I leave?"
"No, I'd better stay. If I'm seen, people might become suspicious of you. Also, I'd like to enjoy my last days of mental freedom before I'm taken to the temple. Who is your sister, by the way?"
Lady Jaye told him; he looked at her sadly and said, "Lola might be a difficult one to bring back around. When she first came here, she had been grateful to receive sanctuary from the get-go. Tomax and Xamot didn't have to work hard to charm her. Some people are like that, especially women. You see it a lot with non-psychic cult leaders. They find people who are dissatisfied with their lives and want to be lead, then con them with the force of their personalities."
"I have to try," Lady Jaye replied, "This is no place to raise a child in."
"If you manage to stop the twins, don't forget about me in here," Jacob pleaded as she departed.
When Lady Jaye next saw Lola, she was very excited. "Masters are very generous today," she breathed, "They want to have dinner and spend the evening with us privately in my apartment!"
Lady Jaye wondered why for a second, then realized she knew damn well why, the mirror image pervs. They probably wanted to make number thirty in her. This would be the perfect time to jar her sister out of her trance. She pretended to be enthused but made plans. She hid her staff behind a sofa sitting within easy reach of most places in the apartment.
Later that evening, three disciples came in with carts loaded with platters of delicious looking food. They arranged it on Lola's dining room table, along with plates and cutlery for four. The twins arrived about twenty minutes later walking in their serene way. Lola ran up and embraced the scarred one. Lady Jaye gave them a warm smile, but it was more from amusement than anything. Here they were looking for a night of romance and they rock up in socks and sandals, and their usual garb that looked like a cross between a monks habit and a warlock's robe. Their hair was soft and shiny, beautifully feathered, and...feminine. A cloying smell of incense and scented candles clung to them. It was then she remembered she was supposed to be careful what she thought around them. Luckily, Tomax and Xamot were distracted enough by Lola's attention.
Lady Jaye sat next to the one without a scar, -Xamot- and enjoyed his company. In another life, she could see being friends with him because he wasn't a bad guy. It was too bad they couldn't have all met under normal circumstances, like if Xamot could have been the best man at Tomax and Lola's wedding. It would have been ideal if the brothers dressed normally and never once thought about screwing one another. Most importantly, of course, it would have been super great if they didn't have almost thirty children and the ability to mind-control people into worshiping them as gods.
After dinner, Xamot kissed Lady Jaye's hand and asked for some one-on-one time. Regretfully, she realized she would have to make her move before this debacle went any further. She got up and walked toward the sofa. Xamot rose and followed her. Everyone stared at her in mild surprise as she dove behind the sofa, grabbed her staff, then ran up and gave Xamot a good crack across his shoulders with the handle and shoved him forward. Reacting to his brother's trauma, Tomax fell out of his chair and smacked the side of his forehead on the corner of the table. Even better.. she thought as she forced a stunned Xamot's arms behind his back. "ALISON!! What are you doing?!" Lola shouted in the background.
Lady Jaye ignored her and thought fast. She yanked Xamot's outer robe down around his shoulders, hearing some snaps give, then straight-jacketed him by tying the sleeves together. Tomax's arms moved into position behind his back as he felt his brother's discomfort. Despite this, he struggled to rise. She ran up and slammed her heel into the center of his back, then tied his arms similarly. "Don't you feel your faith wavering from this attack?" she asked a shocked Lola.
Tomax grunted in pain from the floor and said in a strained voice, "If we had hard-ons, they'd sure be wavering. You're being a little rough. Why don't you untie us and we can talk about this?"
"Don't even think about working your charm on me, asshole," Lady Jaye replied, and she hauled him to his feet, then led him to the sofa where she threw him face down.
"How DARE you treat the Brothers of Light thus without our permission!" an indignant, wild-eyed Xamot hissed as she gave him the same treatment.
"Shut up you or I'll zap you one" Lady Jaye said, picking up her staff.
The twins replied, "The staff runs off our psychic energy.." "..We will not allow you to use it against us."
Lady Jaye smirked at them and retorted, "Oh yeah? Well I can still beat you with it and then shove this wicked pointy end up one of your asses. It would be like sticking it up both your asses, amirite?"
Tomax and Xamot turned their heads and shot each other looks of tentative worry. They were pretty sure they wouldn't like that. In fact, on second thought, they were positive they wouldn't like it, especially considering their awkward experience together the day before.
"Please stop! You're hurting them!" Lola cried.
Lady Jaye looked around the room for something to tie their legs with. She couldn't see anything close enough to be useful, so gave up and thought it would be easiest to just yank their pants down around their skinny ankles, revealing two very hairy Corsican asses, as they hadn't been wearing anything underneath.
"Look at these jerks," Lady Jaye said, "They have you and everyone else here mind-controlled into becoming enthralled by them. You have to see that."
It's not true!" Lola replied, "I love them!"
"RELEASE MY SISTER FROM YOUR SPELL OR I SWEAR TO GOD I WILL KILL YOU!!" Lady Jaye screamed. She started whipping Tomax and Xamot's asses with the arm of her staff until they started shrieking. She looked over and saw that Lola had started to cry. She stopped the beat down and decided it was time to make a run for it.
"We have to go," she told her sister grabbing her arm.
"-Go where?" Lola replied.
"-To visit mom and dad. You want to see them again, don't you?"
"-But we aren't allowed to leave the sanctuary."
Lady Jaye ignored this and led her sister outside. Other disciples were milling around in the dark holding flashlights. "What's going on? I had a bad dream," a confused voice asked.
"-Nothing. I need to know where my car is parked," Lady Jaye responded, then she noticed Brother Daniel standing around holding a staff. "I, um, have to go out of the walls on a mission for Masters but my staff broke. I need you to lead me to the door and open it for me."
Daniel led her to where her car was being kept, then helped Lola into the passenger seat and climbed in the back. Lady Jaye started the ignition and away they went. After Brother Daniel opened the door for them, he got out and waved to them stupidly as they went on their way.
Luckily for Lady Jaye, she had had the forethought of putting cans of gas in the trunk. They had more than enough fuel to make the long drive back to the hotel where she had stayed the night before arriving at the twins' strange home. "I'll visit mom and dad for a little while, but you know I have to go back," Lola said softly, "It's my home, Alison. The Brothers of Light are my masters and fathers of this child and all future children."
Lady Jaye felt a surge of anxiety go through her. "You have to get over this hold they have on you," she replied, "You have to want to..."
She felt more than a little guilty, not knowing what to do about all the other people trapped under the twins' control, especially poor Jacob. If she reported them and told the truth about their psychic abilities, who would believe her fabulous story? If she tried to keep it real and reported them as ordinary cult leaders who brainwashed their followers, then anyone who went to investigate them, not knowing the danger, would be susceptible to their paranormal wills. She didn't know what to do or who to tell. One positive thing to come of this was that the whole experience gave her an open mind. She vowed that in the future, if anyone she trusted ever came to her with a crazy story, she would at least give him/her the benefit of the doubt.

Meanwhile, back in Lola's apartments in the sanctuary of the Brothers of Light, Tomax and Xamot were struggling to undo their bonds, more than a little embarrassed. "We really have to learn to control our fear, dear brother," Tomax said, "We could have called for help telepathically at any time."
"Shall we call for help now?" Xamot asked, frowning in consternation. They would have to call their most fervent disciples and allow them to see their masters with red, sore asses and their pants around their ankles. They weren't sure if they were ready for that just yet.
Suddenly, Tomax stopped his struggles and stared at his brother with wet eyes. He said glumly, "Why is it every time we get close to our dream of starting a Crimson Guard, something happens to fuck it up?"
"AHA!!" Xamot said, working an arm free of his sleeve. He put it over Tomax's shoulders and said, "There there..we'll have it someday. New people come to us all the time. Now let me get you free."
Xamot worked at the knot in Tomax's robes until he got his arms free. Then they put themselves together into a more dignified state. They knew their disciples would be confused, having felt a wrongness through their psychic connection, but an explanation could wait until morning. They decided to stay where they were for the time being. Throughout the night, the Brothers of Light comforted each other so hard that when they finished, even their most fervent disciples would have thought their masters were skeevy and in serious need of showers. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
