Grovy’s sentimental issues, sex only suggested for a change.
He doesn’t realize.
He doesn’t realize how cute it is that he keeps calling him Grovy, how he keeps being so cheerful and smiling around him, how he keeps winking and giggling and making faces and also those puppy eyes no one can resist.
He doesn’t realize he’s so cute, so attractive, without actually meaning it.
He doesn’t realize that Grovy cannot afford to find him cute and attractive, because he’s aboy, and Iops are warriors, they’re not gay, for fuck sake.
He doesn’t realize Grovy is in permanent conflict with himself, because sure he loves Evangelyne, but he finds in her the respectability he needs, because it’s only cool being a warrior when you have a damsel by your side.
Well, Eva is not a damsel for sure, but the point still stands. Without the social pressure maybe Grovy would make a different choice.
He doesn’t realize how he is, in himself, a problem for Grovy, a constant pain in his heart, because once in a while Grovy would love to give in to the gayness and stroke his soft skin and kiss his small lips and even more.
He doesn’t realize what a torture it is when he’s lying on the bed they share for the night with only his underwear (and his hat, obviously), smiling easily, chilling with his arms crossed behind his head, so carelessly and inadvertently desirable.
He doesn’t realize the look Grovy is giving him is one of pure envy and lust, but this is sowrong, so gay, and Grovy just looks away and tries to forget about it.
A little hand grab his arm. Grovy looks back into those large, storm-gray eyes, and the boy is biting his lower lip and Grovy feels like he’s gonna explode.
“Um, you know Grovy… if you want to, um… to do it with me… you can. I mean… I won’t tell anyone.”
There’s a moment of perfect stillness as they look at each other and Grovy has trouble to determine if this is really happening or not.
Maybe he does realize after all.
