"If your winking, I'm blind." Toph said, ruining the little family moment they had been having

"I knew that.." Zuko said.

"The eyes are a dead give away right?" Toph asked brightly.

Instead of replying, Zuko reached up and grabbed Toph's pacifier, and poped it in her mouth.

"Wish I could of done that a few times back in the day."

Toph huffed behind her pacifier, but got off of Zuko.

"Fire lord Zuko, I'm afraid that your needed in the war room, General Ro insists." Roze said, handing him his new shirt.

"Ugh..He knows I wanted to be left alone. I swear, he's testing my no one gets exiled rule." Zuko complained, standing up, sliding the shirt on.

"So your leaving already?" Toph whined, having pushed the pacifier back out of her mouth, and crawled across the floor, hugging one of his legs.

"Sorry to say it, but yeah. Duty calls and all that jazz."

"If Ro's called you for a dumb reason, can you spank him?" Toph asked, breaking into a huge grin.

"Now there's a idea." Zuko said, reaching down and ruffling the top of Toph's head.
Zuko stormed though the halls, making his way to the war room, and barley kept from yelling as he found Ro with his feet up on the war table, in the big comfy chair that was meant for him, having a smoke.

"This had better be good." Zuko said though clenched teeth.

"Oh but I assure you it is my lord, I've obtained proof that your little earth bender friend is faking her lack of power, and really tried to help several prisoners escape earlier today." Ro said, smiling.

"Really." Zuko Said, crossing his arms. "Quite, It was about half a hour ago, she stuck out, but was noticed by a maid, and made her way to the prison. we can only assume she wanted to free Azula, but of course, she was scared off by my men."

"And I suppose you want a medal, and a promotion for this news? Correct?" Zuko asked, coming over.

"Not before I of course, provide proof to you oh great fire-"

Ro was cut off, as Zuko's fist landed square in Ro's jaw.

"You dumb son of a bitch, Half a hour ago I was PERSONALLY in the same room as Toph!" Zuko roared.

"B-But you said..you were attending matters of state.." The general whimpered from the floor getting up.

"What's important here isn't that I lied to you, what matters is that YOU lied to ME." Zuko said, moving in. "Your report to me better include how you've tracked down those escaped prisoners, and are returning them to jail."
Toph was laying on her belly, back in her play area.

Her butt was still a little sore, and as she laid her, chin on her fist and twirling a stuffed Badger mole back and forth, she felt the evilness that is boredom creeping up on her.

"No wonder little kids cry so much, This is boring." Toph complained, rolling onto her back, head on the stuffed toy now.

"To be fair, Little kids don't have quite the attention span you do." Roze said, fiddling with something.

"Is that MY fault If I'm so super smart." Toph asked, kicking her legs ideally now.

Well what did you play with when your were little?" Roze asked.

"Rocks, Boulders. that sort of thing." Toph replied, acting like it was nothing.

"I see. It must be..interesting to be a earth bender."

Roze came over to the play pens fence, and Toph sat up, shrugging.

"I didn't mine that part. whats up, you coming in to play too?" Toph asked, getting hopeful.

"Not quite dear, but I did make you a bottle." Roze said, trying to hand it to Toph who's arms went from being out sheathed to pulling back by her side.

"Not a fan of bottles?"

"I'm used to them..Mom and dad though that poor little Toph would spill all her drinks over herself. I just wanna know whats in it, and if you say formula.." Toph made a face, touge hanging out.

"It's Cow hippo milk. Don't tell me, Your parents thought your belly was too weak for anything but Formula and baby food for quite awhile?"

"Try till I was 7. Then I started throwing it up up all the time, due to the taste, and they were told to 'try' real food." Toph said, shaking herhead.

"It's a wonder your so well adjusted from the sounds of things."

Toph didn't reply back, but merely took the bottle from Roze and started to drink.
"M-My men have reported back, and say they're ready to bring the prisoners back in." Ro said.

the General was sporting a black eye, a bruised jaw and was currently tied down to a chair, two fire benders on either side of him.

"And do they know the full extent of this plot of yours, or were they merely following orders?" Zuko asked.

He wasn't a fan of either answer, He hated to think that his own troops would releases criminals under the right General's orders. Worse though would be if they were in on it. He'd heard about how the Dai lei had cost one king his kingdom, he wasn't about to let it happen here and now, when he had worked so hard towards the rebuilding.

"T-They were told it was a order from you, that the criminals where to be used in a attack." Ro said.

Well, that was good in a way..
Toph's eyelids started to feel heavy as she chugged down the milk, but she sat up, trying to fight off the sleepy feeling.

"I guess I should of mentioned warm cow hippo milk has been known to make you sleepy." Roze said, as Toph dropped the bottle and belched.

"I guess your not going to need to be burped." Roze said, chuckling a little.

"Always better out then in." Toph replied, a dopey grin on her face.

She didn't protest as Roze picked her up, and soon she was back in her bed, the covers being tugged up on her.

"I'm -yawn- going for a nap aren't I?" Toph asked, being handed the Badger mole from the play area.

"Nothing gets pass you." Roze said, leaning down and kissing Toph's forehead.

"Can I have a story?" Toph asked.

"I don't see why not..Once upon a time.."
"I've talked with your witness who 'saw' Toph. That girl can't be older than 15 and looks like she hasn't eaten in a week. what was her crime?"

"She was seen stealing from a shop."

"By more of your witnesses I bet." Zuko asked, not looking at Ro.

"C-Correct. I-I had her put in place." Ro said quickly, hoping if he came clean..

"I should reduce you to cinders right now." Zuko said, face full of disgust.

"Fire Lord please! Have mercy!" Ro screamed, the benders at either side of him moved back a bit.

""I should, but I wouldn't. As of right now you are no longer a Member of the fire nations army. You are a Member of it's prison though, and you'll be spending the next 20 years of your life In that jail. I hope for your sake that you haven't put too many people in there unfairly." Zuko said, then motioned for the crying and begging Ro to be lead out, still in his chair.

"Isn't 20 years a bit much sir?" An adviser asked him, on his way out of the room.

"He is a hero of the water tribe purge.."

"Which is something that we shouldn't be proud of Kul." Zuko said evenly.

"10 years for letting the prisoners escape, and five for each wrongful conviction he went for. If he had been younger I would of given him more time, But let's be clear on this. I don't expect Ro to survive his time in jail."

"Still, The people look up to hero's like-" Kul started again, and was stopped by the look Zuko gave him.

"Don't call that man a hero. In fact, don't call Ro a man. The days of us ruling the world is over, we're here to share it with the other nations. If you can't wrap your mind around that, then by all means, go find anther job." Zuko said, and then stormed away.

Kul wasn't a young man, nor was he a fire bender, but he was smart. and as he watched Zuko storm off, he stoked his long white beard.

"Perhaps I will find someone else to work for." He said softly.
"Don't even ask." Zuko grumbled, coming in and rubbing his eyes.

"You wouldn't even be-" he was cut off from his rant, as Roze put a finger to his lips, and then pointed over at Toph, who was curled up on her bed.

the Badger mole toy was under one arm, while with her free arm she had brought her thumb up to her mouth,and was now sucking on it.

She was snoring away, and a giant grin broke over Zuko's face.

"Ok, that is exactly what I needed to see." he whispered to Roze.

"I figure let her sleep for a couple hours, and wake her up for some playtime." Roze whispered back.

"Was she hard to get asleep?"

"Nah, Some warmed up Cow hippo milk, and a story,and she conked right out. just like her 'daddy' used to." Roze said, elbowing Zuko and then taking off.
