Please, Don't Squeeze the Charming
Trixie was standing by Timmy's open closet, wearing only her pink nightie and fuzzy slippers. She looked curiously at the short blonde Chester-style wig in her hands until a knock at the door startled her. She quickly tossed it back in the closet as the bedroom door opened. Timmy's dad entered and laughed nervously in his usual booming voice. “I just wanted to make sure you're comfortable. Is there anything that you need or can I do you, er, I mean, is there anything I can do for you?”
“No thank you, Mr. Turner,” she answered in a snippy tone. “I was just looking for something to read, but all I could find were these really old comic books that need to be thrown away. She pointed at the stack of comics on the desk, with Crimson Chin #1 being on the very top. “I think it's time to go to bed now,” she huffed.
“All right,” he chimed a bit too enthusiastically while stepping towards the bed. Her angry glare stopped him in his tracks. “Uh, don't you want me to turn down the bedcovers for you?” he asked, feigning innocence.
“Of course,” she sneered with a toss of her hair. “But you forgot the mint for my pillow. Oh, just go, just go!” she commanded while shooing the air with her hand.
“Are you sure you don't want me to warm the bed?” he asked in desperation just as his wife walked in behind him.
“Come along, honey. Let's let Trixie get some sleep,” she said while taking hold of his arm. She smiled at the annoyed little girl before turning her husband and half-pushing him out of the room. “Good night, dear, and don't forget to lock the door.” She turned her head back and shot Trixie a grave look, “Seriously!” Timmy's mom closed the door on the way out and Trixie could only hear muffled scolding until they were down the hall.
She picked up one of the comics and sneered as she flipped it open a few pages. “Hmf, Crimson Chin! That's so... Oooh, I haven't seen this one!” She read it as she walked to the door, locking it and then tilting Timmy's chair under the doorknob for good measure. Still reading, she turned the page while walking back to Timmy's bed, where she turned around and plopped herself down on it. “Ouch! This bed's so hard,” she complained softly, never taking her eyes off the comic. She kicked off her slippers and lifted her legs up, sliding them under the covers.
After an hour or so, Trixie finished reading and she put the comic book on the nightstand. As she reached to turn off the lamp, she thought that, for a brief instant, she had seen her name flash in the fishbowl. Perplexed, she looked closely, moving her head around until she realized that, at a certain angle, the glass and water was magnifying something on the door of the little castle. It almost looked like a tiny little yellow sticky note, complete with some sort of writing that she couldn't quite make out.
She sat up and thought about sticking her hand in to retrieve it, but she didn't want to risk leaving the room wash her hands afterwards. Instead, she took a pen from the nightstand and tried to see if she could scrape it off the model and bring it out. However, after trying for several minutes, she only managed mush up and get ink on whatever it was, so she decided to forget about it. After all, even though she knew that Timmy had a thing for her, thinking that his fish were taking notes on her wasn't just crazy: it was Veronica crazy.
Trixie laughed nervously to herself and then put it completely out of her mind. After getting under the blankets again, she turned off the lamp and went to sleep.
