Chapter Three-How The Demise Began
Evil-Lyn sighed. Darla’s telepathic messages were driving her mad. Ever since that memorable day, she’s been torturing her soul continuously, especially now, it’s become even more daily.
Evil-Lyn was hiding out, within a village. She was keeping her identity very secretive and tried to avoid close contact with anyone. She feared, if Skeletor knew she was still alive, he’d come and end it, in seconds. But she also knew she couldn’t keep this up. Sooner or later she would have to face the music and try to find a way out of her problems.
To conceal her appearance, she wore a black long fitting cloak, covering her whole body. She had lost her orb staff in her final battle and knew it may now be back at Snake Mountain. Somewhere she dare not go. But that didn’t bother her; it was just the fact that Darla had taken her place. She should be rightful one at Skeletor’s side, not her…
It all started at the beginning...
<<FLASHBACK>>
Evil-Lyn entered one of Eternia’s buried libraries. Destroyed to the very bottom. Only scattered remains of books and papers filled the grim pit.
“I need to find that book! It has to be here, I’ve looked everywhere!” Evil-Lyn rummaged through the dust and filth, searching for a priceless spell book. She threw a few aside and discovered an obscure gap under the floor. It was dark, not even a hint of light was visible, just completely pinch black.
“Hmm….I wonder what lies in there…” curious, Evil-Lyn created a ball of light from her palm and illumed the hole with it. Staring and searching her eyes widen at the sight. “The book!!!” she exclaimed. There it was lying right in the middle of the floor, all dusted, but still in somewhat, good condition. Evil-Lyn had quickly recognized it, by its golden trim, on its spine and with the dark scarlet red cover. But it wasn’t the only thing there, much more papers and debris laid along with it, which could have fallen there with the collapse of this library. In no time, did Evil-Lyn waste her chances. She knew it be death, if she tried climbing down there, instead she used her magic to retrieve her required object. One arm outstretched, she forced her mental strength to elevate the book towards her. This wasn’t as easy as it sounds, her magic, if used up could drain more than strength from her, if pushed.
“I need that book…” she focused strongly, even though she could feel herself try to let go. No, it wouldn’t happen, she came here for that book and wasn’t leaving without it.
In time, the book made it safely in her hands. Exhausted a bit, Evil-Lyn shook it off. “Yes! Finally I posses it!” without anymore words, she quickly left the premise before someone like He-Man, or worst Skeletor finds her here. Anything but that.
She mounted on top her griffin and stormed off. She had been gone too long. Skeletor might soon realize she was missing.
In mid-air, she gently ran her hands over the engraved imprints which read “Hecate’s Incantations-Spells &Presages”
she carefully opened the book, she smiled. “Ah…now I can introduce myself to some powerful spells that might even make Skeletor quiver before me.” She skimmed through the book, noticing that some of the wording wasn’t clear English, but no worries, she’ll translate the meaning and use later. She was approaching Snake Mountain, quickly brushing off the dust and she hid it under her cloak.
She carefully descended from the griffin, quietly. Using one of her spell to hide herself, if any of those nosy minions knew what she was up to, they might could have her head severed.
She quickly entered Snake Mountain by one of its secret passage ways. “Good no one in site…”
She walked up to her room, carefully entered and closed the door behind her. Safely, she sighed and placed the book onto her work table, tossing her cloak onto her bed. “Finally, it’s mine…” she sat in front of the spell book, flipping through the pages. She cast one of her translating spells over the book, decoding most of the spells. Her eyes cheered up. “Yes….perfect!”
The book, Hecate’s Incantations was a book concealed a long time ago. The book was thought to have been created by Hecate herself. All the most impressive spells were within these pages. The book was thought to have only been a legend, as no other book could be kept alive for this long. Yet Evil-Lyn did her research well and as a skilled magician, she was able to relocate it.
As the dark sorceress read through some of the spells, one caught her attention.
The letters in this spell bolded out and appeared clearer than the others. The other spells had faded over the years. Evil-Lyn’s eyes cleverly opened filled with curiosity. Really. It intrigued her. It was a demon incantation. “Huh, demons scripture, how interesting…” Evil-Lyn lifted the book to her view and read out the spell. The urge to read it out was too strong…
“Through dost inscriptions,
time and of life
I praise thou words
As forth, unlock Lucifer’s rights.
To crook and twist rules for lies,
Bend the lies and presage,
as I call onwards… towards…
Daemons way…!”
She looked up from the book, interpreting if anything had become of the spell she read out. But Nothing…
Nothing happened.
“How could that be? Something should have at least come about…” Evil-Lyn checked around from her desk. Confused a little. “Hmm… maybe I read it wrong…” she studied the spell again.
Focusing from her desk, only at the corner of her eye something was emerging from darkness…
The figure slipped through the gateway of pure darkness, eyes flaring bloody red. The ghastly figure silently reached over towards Evil-Lyn, when her eyes caught the figures attention. Evil-Lyn’s eyes now grew with disbelief. “WHAT….!” Evil-Lyn gasped stepping back out of her chair. “DARLA!” she let out.
The figure uncloaked herself from the darkness. She looked battered and unwell. Her eyes stabbed cold daggers towards Evil-Lyn. “You…you did this to me…” Darla grinded her teeth.
Evil-Lyn still shaken by her guest, she regain herself and looked Darla in the eye. “Don’t you dare blame me for what happen to you. You brought your penalty by yourself. You should have known better than to mess around with demons and their magic!”
Darla regained herself; she fixed her muscle into place and stood strong.
“Hmph! You could have freed me from my demise, but you didn’t, you’d rather have no competition, so you didn’t bother.”
Evil-Lyn soon became enraged. “Oh I didn’t bother, because screwing around with the underworld magic and century old demons that surpass my abilities didn’t appeal to me, I’d be getting myself into a lot of trouble trying to save you’re ass.”
Relaxing a bit, Evil-Lyn calmly smirked, stretching out her arm to examine her nails. She then glanced over at Darla, who was still mad. “Your magic could never compete with my own.”
“If it wasn’t for those demonic abilities you taught yourself you’d be nothing.”
Darla curled a smirk. “I learned from the best demons to become the demon sorceress I am today and besides that…..you did free me….now.”
Evil-Lyn completely forgot about the spell she read. “Yes, the spell I read must have freed you, but…”
“…How? You ask, easy. For all those years in that hell hole, my senses have gotten stronger.” Darla stretched out her shoulders leaning against a wardrobe. “So whenever someone tried to enter the Demon Realm, I could tell, so when you read that spell…” Eyeing the book Evil-Lyn had on her desk. “I was ready and manage to escape.” She flipped her hair back, while Evil-Lyn walked over towards her.
“So…you’re free now what else do you want?”
Darla grinned. “Oh just revenge…you’ll get what’s coming to you soon Lyn, or should I say Evil-Lyn my dear, dear sister Evil-Lyn, one of the strongest warriors of the Overlord of Evil Skeletor.” Darla raised her eyebrow intrigued. “Hmmm…yes I’ve heard what happen…the incident that broke you and Keldor up…. so sad huh? Well let’s just say revenge can be sweet, but also desirable at time…” she laughed and with that cloaked herself in darkness and disappeared, but would soon return…
<<END OF FLASHBACK>>
That was it. That was when all this hell started. Darla wanted her revenge for when she was imprisoned in the Demon Realm for betrayal of the underworld regulations, which was she dug too deep into the demon’s secret of power. Her punishment, she blamed Lyn for not helping her and took her revenge quick.
Evil-Lyn closed her eyes and sighed deeply. She was aching.
