A Few Days Later…
Axel smiled happily to himself as he woke up; last night had been fantastic… Shark really knew how to make him cum. The two had been in each others rooms for the past four days continuously except when they had to work and the rest of the team seemed none the wiser. They spent more time in Shark’s room, that way they couldn’t hear Lioness and King engaged in similar activities. Besides, when they were in Shark’s room, they had agreed that Shark would be dominant, an arrangement that Axel was delighted with and the pool sex… It was said that love was not built on lust alone, but Axel was happy with it for now, maybe a few romantic dinners later would help enhance those other aspects. He rolled over to give his lover a good morning kiss only to find Shark was gone.
“Shark?” he called out quietly to see if the blond was still in their rooms. He quietly walked through the series of rooms that comprised Shark’s quarters, the cool morning air stimulating his naked manhood and his smooth muscular body. He gently ran a hand through his brown pubic hair and then through his normal hair, feeling the sticky spots where his or Shark’s semen had splattered there. This was not normal, Shark always woke up after him and even if he were to wake up before, he would still be in their room. Wrapping a towel around himself, he quietly ran out into the hallway, heading for the kitchen. Shark was not there either. Axel rushed back to their room, tears welling in his eyes as a sinking feeling formed in his gut, where was his Shark?
----------------------------
“Wake up.” a voice said as Shark felt a sharp pain near his rear. As he slowly came around, a chill ran through his body, he was still naked and the air was quite cold wherever he was.
“Wh… where am I?” he asked groggily, his voice almost seemed separated from his thoughts and his movements. He must have been drugged or something. He tried to stand up but found himself held in a kneeling position by handcuffs around each wrist and his ankles. The ones on his wrists were attached to a shoulder height metal bar on either side of him while the ones around his ankles appeared to be hooked to metal rings driven into the stone floor.
“You are in our little hideaway.” the voice said again as a large figure moved to block the dim bulb that was the only source of illumination in the room, “You didn’t think you could screw my worse enemy and not escape my vengeance did you?”
Shark groaned, even through the sedative- induced haze, who knew who that was. “Paine? How did you survive?”
“What? The whole falling into the mine shaft when you cretins destroyed my last hideout?”
“We saw you; you had a broken girder stabbing up through your chest.”
“So very true, how heroic of you to leave me there… remind me to thank Manning for that when he comes for you, and I mean that in an entirely platonic way, not in the way he has been for the past few nights at least. It’s true, I should have died down in that forsaken shaft but someone had a vested interest in my survival.”
“That would be me.” a new voice added in as another figure emerged from the darkness around the edge of the room, “Mister Paine has had so much experience fighting you and your compatriots already, it would be a shame if he could not contribute some of that experience to my organization. So I introduced him to some friends of mine, nanites as it so happens. They managed to keep him alive long enough for him to get some better medical assistance.”
“And here I am, thanks to you Lee.” Paine loudly announced, his voice echoing off the cold stone walls of whatever room they were in, “I must confess, I was surprised to here you and Manning had hooked up, how did that ever happen?”
“S… screw…” Shark managed to get out before he was cuffed upside the head.
“Nevermind, I really don’t care. Besides, it’s not like you are really going to be around much longer, Lee will see to that.”
“Quiet Paine, we do not want to scare the boy too much, it would make this all the more difficult. Ah well, nevermind… Ever since Manning and the rest of you destroyed my clone versions of you, I have been without my elite team of enforcers, but thanks to some research I acquired, I aim to correct that mistake. You might have met him before; his name was Recombo…”
“Oh no…” Shark groaned quietly to himself, anything but genetic experiments, “But he was your partner, why would you need to ‘acquire’ anything from him?”
“He was not really willing to share his latest advancements, said I was abusing his genius or some such. Besides, I got tired of paying him so I had to get rid of him before he talked and this research was well secured to prevent me from getting to it. No honor among thieves and all that, you know what I mean.” Lee said with an insane grin on his face.
“YoU’RE CRazy…” Shark gasped out as Paine hit him from behind with an elbow.
“Careful Paine, the specimen still has to be alive before the process begins.” Lee scolded before answering Shark’s challenge, “Yes, I suppose I am crazy, taking a rock to the brain would do that to a man. Of course the cybernetics I replaced that chunk of gray matter with are unstable at best, not really compatible with my real brain but I survived!”
“And he gave me a little upgrade as well.” Paine added, pounding a fist against his chest resulting in a metallic sound, “Nanites enhanced my durability a little you might say.”
“Enough, the clues I had you plant for his friends should lead them here soon enough. We need to have him ready by the time they arrive for their funeral.”
----------------------------
The entire team had been woken up and gathered together in Shark’s room to look for clues as to what had happened.
“So how did you find out Shark was missing Axel?” Hawk asked in an annoyingly accusatory tone.
“I was up early and heard that there were some good waves down at the beach, went to his room first to see if he wanted to go and found out he was missing so I went to wake the rest of you.” Axel explained, fighting down the heaviness he felt in his chest. The part about the waves was true enough, although that had been true the entire week anyways. The rest… well, they didn’t need to know that yet.
Suddenly, King’s voice came from Shark’s bedroom, “Hey, I found something!” Everyone quickly rushed into the room to see what King had found. When they had all crowded around, King pointed to the window latch where a shred of an old map was tucked into the latch-hole itself. After gently removing it, King flattened the paper out to reveal a map of an older section of the subway system under Landmark City. There was a small red ‘X’ indicating one of the more ancient stations left over from the era when the city had first been built.
“Looks like he either took off for some subway surfing or he was kidnapped.” Hawk said in a sarcastic tone.
“This seems like a trap; no way would the kidnapper be that sloppy.” Axel said pensively.
“How would you know?” Hawk asked.
“No sign of a struggle.” Axel answered hastily; glad he had thought of it quickly enough that there was no suspicious pause.
“Regardless, we need to rescue Shark and this is our only lead.” Lioness interjected impatiently.
----------------------------
Shark awoke feeling like he had been beaten with a whale, only to find that he was in some kind of tube filled chest high with a highly viscous blue liquid.
“Hello, my soon to be mutated friend.” Lee said, his face distorted into a grinning demonic mask by the curve of the tube that held Shark, “You know, originally I wanted to help humanity but you and your team have helped me to realize that the best way to do that is destroy humanity. I’ll simply alter everyone in the world to become a hybrid of human and animal. Those I want to survive will become predators and the rest become the prey, humanity will purge itself, I only have to act as the catalyst! And you, you my friend get to be the first of the people I will turn. I was originally going to turn you into a shark since that fits your name so well, but no, no, no, no, no I don’t want you or your teammates to survive. So I decided to cross you with a bull and see it still works, you get to become a ‘bull Shark,’ see it works so well and you get to be the first of the prey, what a treat! Of course I could just kill you, like I will your friends, but Paine wanted Axel to see you like this so his last living memory will be of the man who was his lover being a monster. Not the way I would do it, but far be it for me to discourage any sort of subtlety on Paine’s part.”
“Can we get on with this?” Paine groused from a control panel a little ways down the room.
“Yes, yes of course… proceed at your discretion.” Lee said; evidently startled out of his rant by Paine. Paine made a simple gesture at Spydah and the latter threw a switch on the control panel. Above Shark a small sphere came alive with crackling electricity. The bolts arced out to form a ring of lightning around the top perimeter in the tube that turned into a sheet of electricity as the initial ring began to descend, increasing in depth as it went. At the same time, the blue fluid began filling more of the tube, quickly reaching the top and fully immersing Shark. He gulped for air after a second and found he could still breathe. The wave of electricity finally reached the bottom of the tube.
“Replacing genetic separation fluid with genetic primer.” Spydah said as the liquid inside the tube was quickly exchanged for a thin green liquid that the electricity immediately shot through. Shark cried out in agony, every cell in his body felt as though it were on fire. The pain dulled for a moment as the first wave of energy faded and the green liquid began draining.
“Adding gene extraction and cellular stabilizer fluids.” Spydah continued as a red fluid replaced the green liquid. Another wave of energy pulsed through the tube and Shark screamed in agony as he felt blood flow out of several of his orifices. Overwhelming dizziness came over him and he nearly threw up as he collapsed against the side of the tube.
“Adding neo-genetic structure compound, draining gene extraction fluid.” The cretin at the control panel continued as the liquid in the tube turned from red to yellow. Oddly enough, Shark felt no pain and no energy pulse coursed through the tube, although he still felt like he was going to vomit his insides out.
“Adding recombinant fusion liquid.” Spydah said as he flipped another switch on the panel and the liquid in the tube turned a deep orange color. Another pulse of energy coursed through the tube and Shark doubled over, the pain so great that he couldn’t even cry out. He stared in shock as short blond fur started to cover his entire body. The hair on his head elongated so even though he was covered in fur the same color as his hair, he retained his hairstyle. His feet turned black and hardened, pain shooting through his lower legs as they reshaped themselves into hooves. He felt pain shoot through his bones as his frame expanded, making him taller and wider and his tail bone extended into a long tail with a blond “brush” at its tip. His muscle mass increased, resulting in massive perfectly toned human muscles, rather than bull muscles. Two white bull horns sprouted from his head and his ears became slightly pointed. Oddly enough, his face remained unchanged throughout this process, although it was now covered in the same fur that covered the rest of his body. His pubic hair straightened and grew longer, covering his manhood just as he felt his balls becoming heavier and drop lower as his scrotum enlarged. At the same time, he could feel his cock growing in size while his foreskin regenerated and formed a second layer of skin over his penis that then separated off from his dick to become a sheath that partially attached itself to his lower abdomen, allowing it to hang a little ways away from his body. He also felt his cock itself change shape slightly, the head elongating slightly and becoming more streamlined before it darkened to a deep tan. Even shorter and finer blond fur covered his sheath and ball sack and his hair/ head-fur, “brush” fur and pubic fur darkened to a more tan- blond color before the pain subsided and the transformation stopped.
“Adding genetic bonding enzymes.” Spydah said as a strange tingling sensation came over him and the nausea slowly passed and the last vestiges of pain faded from his body.
“Excellent work everyone!” Lee crowed from his observation deck, “Now quick, stun him before he breaks out!”
Shark had just enough time to pound on the Plexiglas tube once before the gas that filled the chamber rendered him unconscious.
----------------------------
Axel drove in silence as the ATOM team raced through the subways underneath the city, riding up onto the walls to avoid the trains that frequently raced through the tunnels. The map they had found was only a partial map and gave no useful clue as to where in the subway network this old tunnel was. When they found the right junction they would know, but beyond that there was little clue.
‘Poor Axel, he seems to be taking this pretty hard.’ Lioness thought to herself as they sped along the tracks. Then again, Axel really did feel like he alone was responsible so it was little wonder that he would be a grouch. This time though seemed different; Axel seemed to take it far more personally. Was it possible that Axel might have feelings for Shark? He had not seemed to take her choosing King over him so badly; perhaps he really was not attracted to her anymore. While she was glad that he had found another love, it slightly hurt that he had not even hinted as much to her. Well, he would probably tell them in time, it was best to wait until he was ready.
----------------------------
Shark awoke to find himself in the same stupid room he had started out in, bound in a way similar to before, although the handcuffs had been replaced with heavy chains and his wrist chains were connected to the floor now, forcing him to keep his upper torso near the floor and his rear sticking up into the air.
“Oh good, you’re awake, and here I was thinking I might not get the pleasure of your company again.” Paine said in a cruel tone from behind Shark.
“You…” Shark started to say before Paine chuckled darkly.
“You should enjoy what I’m about to do to you.” Paine said mockingly, “Spydah, if you please…”
Shark winced slightly as six pincers roughly grabbed his butt-cheeks and spread them wide apart. A moment later, tears welled up in his eyes as Paine stuck a hot brand on his left butt-cheek near his butt-hole. A second later and Paine removed the brand and a large bucket of cold water was splashed directly into Shark’s spread open crack, immediately soothing the pain from the burn.
“Now that you’re ready…” Paine said as Shark heard metal clinking from behind him and the pincers released him. A moment later he felt something warm at the entrance to his nether regions.
“Time to take you as my own.” Paine said in a sadistic voice as he thrust his cock into Shark, making the blond minotaur cry as the short fat cock penetrated his insides.
“Hah!” Shark managed to get out around his tears, “Axel is way bigger than you!”
“Shut up.” Paine said gruffly as Spydah snickered in the background, the little pervert obviously enjoying the show. Suddenly a loud rumble resounded through the compound and a moment later Lee rushing into the room.
“Ugh! Paine, you sick freak pull yourself out of him and get down to the entry floor! Axel and the others are here!”
“Let me finish!” Paine shot back, thrusting one last time before reluctantly pulling himself out of Shark and doing up his pants. As he ran from the room with Spydah in tow, Shark cried softly, relieved that at least Paine had not violated him with his fluids. Hopefully Axel would still accept him even though Paine had thrust his foul meat into him. Fighting off the tears for a couple minutes, Shark focused on breaking free of his chains, quickly realizing that one of the chains around his ankles had been worked loose by Paine while he was trying to claim Shark as his own. With a few good yanks, he pulled his hoof free of the entangling chain and was able to quickly yank himself free of the remaining chains, hitting his head on the seven foot ceiling as he did so. ‘Just how tall am I?’ he thought before focusing on the task at hand. He would need to work quickly if he wanted to save his mate and friends.
----------------------------
The lowest floor of the subway station was in flames as the ATOM team forced their way into the little base that had been set up down here. Various fodder minions that they had not seen before filled the base, as if whoever was in charge of this place was building up their own private army down here. None of these people were wanted criminals of any renown, and few had ever served a significant jail sentence. One shot from a Tag-blaster Mark II was enough to knock them out and the ATOM team wasted no time in pouring fire into the enemy ranks.
“MANNING!” a familiar voice called out above the din of battle as Paine landed in front of the ranks of fodder, a personal energy shield deflecting the blaster shots away from him and into the ranks of the minions. Paine continued to advance, seemingly unhindered by the massed fire the ATOM team directed at him, a wicked grin on his face. Finally, Axel had enough and charged the advancing juggernaut firing his blaster at the common rabble to cover his advance. When he reached Paine, he leapt into the air, bringing down a massive kick that would normally crush a man’s skull. Instead, his kick seemed to only distort the shield around Paine a little bit before it bounced back, sending Axel flying upward into the air.
“Face it Manning, you’re outmatched, especially with Lee backing me up.” Paine said mockingly.
“Lee is here? Well, that’s almost as surprising as you surviving the destruction of your previous hideout.” Axel shot back, gesturing for one of the other team-members to throw him a specialized grenade. Developed to combat Lee’s hard light powers, this grenade eliminated photons in an area by attempting the measure them, thus changing their properties. It was horribly complex; Axel couldn’t even begin to explain how it might work. Feeling the grenade land in his hand, Axel stuck it to the shield surrounding Paine then jumped backward as the grenade detonated, creating an odd sphere of inky blackness as the shield around Paine collapsed. A quick series of kicks to the head later and Paine hit the floor, unconscious. A few minutes later and the small army of criminals supporting Paine were also in a similar state, taken out either by Tag-blaster or a kick to the head. The ATOM team hurried inside, realizing that they had to capture Lee as well before he escaped.
----------------------------
Shark ran down the hallways of the compound that he had determined to be an old subway station based on the tracks he had just passed. Pain shot through his body with every step, a remnant of the transformation he had just gone through. He had to get to the control center where he had been “altered” earlier, it was the only control area he had seen and hopefully he would be able to stop Lee from killing the rest of his team from there. After taking several wrong turns, he arrived in the lab center, catching Lee off-guard with his arrival.
“How did you get out?” Lee sputtered in confusion as he blocked a blow from Shark with his hard light armor.
“Persistence.” Shark responded gruffly as he kicked Lee with one of his hooves. If he could knock Lee against the walls, he could give the jerk whiplash and injure him without actually having to make contact with Lee.
“How do you plan on killing them!?” Shark demanded of Lee as he smashed the insane businessman against one of the walls, leaving a large hole in the wall.
“I will turn them into fish, the first test of the same process I used on you in open conditions! They will suffocate to death and you will survive because you’ve already been mutated by the process!” Lee replied mockingly, certain of his victory.
“You won’t live to see that happen!” Shark screamed at Lee as he smashed the smaller man full on in the face, sending Lee headfirst into a wall. After a second, Lee’s body went limp and slid out of the hole in the wall and his hard light armor dispersed. Shark didn’t bother to see if Lee was alright as he rushed to check the control panels, eventually finding one labeled atmospheric recombinant processes. A timer on the panel was counting down, although several minutes were left. Clearly Lee had left plenty of time for himself to escape. Shark desperately scanned the panel, looking for a way to shut the process down before it turned his teammates into fish. He found it quickly enough and was just about to push the countdown termination button when he was blasted from behind.
“Foolih mutat…” Lee said as he staggered back to his feet, blood running out of his mouth and a large gash on his forehead. As Shark watched, the cuts started to heal themselves as little silvery threads wove their way across the wound and them pulled it closed. The blood that had been streaming down his face before dwindled to a trickle and disappeared.
“You can’t beat me like that.” Lee continued as he stretched his neck and restored his hard light armor. Realizing that Lee was right for once at that he could not defeat him in time to save his friends, Shark decided to change tactics. He passed out.
----------------------------
Lee stood over the giant form of the unconscious minotaur, an expression of disgust painted on his face.
“It was easier to debilitate you than I had thought. Well, you always were better at dodging than taking a punch Shark. Good bye, I doubt you’ll live long after my plan comes to fruition.” The businessman said as he pressed a button on another panel and disappeared down a hidden elevator shaft.
----------------------------
A few seconds later, Shark got back up and again searched the panel desperately, looking for the button to shut down the mutation process. At last, he found it… All he had to do was drain the tank containing the genetic separation enzyme and the entire process would shut down temporarily, allowing him to drain the other tanks. Without hesitation, he pressed the drain button and then proceeded to drain the remaining tanks.
----------------------------
After clearing out the lower floor, Axel and the rest of the ATOM team charged up onto the upper floor where the station normally would have connected to the surface. It was on this floor that the map showed a control center and likely that was where Lee was hiding.
“Ok, King, you and Lioness head over to the barracks and clear them out. Hawk, go with them and secure the power room. I’ll head to the control center and take out Lee.”
“Got it.”
“Got it.”
“No problem for a guy like me.”
Axel hurried on after the rest of his team split off, he Lee would tell him where Shark was, even if he had to beat it out of him. As he broke into the control center, he found it empty of life initially, but quickly reassessed as he saw the large blond Minotaur-like creature. Quietly sneaking toward the creature using the consoles as cover, Axel rolled out from behind the panel nearest to the bull-man and leveled his blaster at it.
“Freeze!”
“Axel!”
“Shark? Wh… What have they done to you?” Axel responded in shock. He felt as if his heart had just been stabbed with a knife made of glacial ice. His Shark was… was…
“Lee tested a new type of genetic alteration process on me.” Shark managed to get out as tears welled in his eyes. It hurt him to see such an expression of shock on his love’s face, it was somehow worse than the pain he had endured during his transformation. Axel let out a small sobbing sound and ran over, hugging Shark tight to him as tears streamed down his face and soaked the soft fur of Shark’s chest. Shark gently hugged Axel with one arm, gently stroking the shorter man’s brown hair with the other as tears of his own ran down his face, onto his chest and into Axel’s hair.
“I… I’m sorry; I had to let Lee escape.” Shark said and another sob convulsed Axel’s body, “I had to do it in order to save you.”
Axel looked up at Shark, tears still glinting in the corners of his eyes and tear marks still staining his cheeks, “It’s alright… you’re still alive and that’s what counts, I haven’t lost you.”
----------------------------
After having cleared out the barracks, Lioness headed up to the control center to help Axel, leaving King behind to make sure Hawk didn’t do something stupid. When she arrived at the entry to the room though, everything was quiet except for a subdued crying sound. Out of curiosity, she looked inside and saw Axel and a large minotaur embracing and both were crying softly. She quickly whirled back behind the wall, out of sight. It was true then, Axel did have feelings for someone else, although it was evidently for that creature, not Shark… Wait, they had not found Shark thus far… that meant that the minotaur in there was Shark! What had Lee and Paine done to him?
After a few minutes, she decided she may as well let Axel know that the base was secure, so she quietly walked a little ways down the hallway. A good distance away, she turned around and ran toward the control center, making sure her footsteps were especially loud so the two of them would know someone was coming. She rushed in to find the two of them at odds, Shark in a passive position while Axel had his gun pulled out and aimed at Shark. Knowing what she knew, it was obviously staged.
“Lioness, I’m going to need help here! Lee escaped but left this mutant behind to block us from finding him!” Axel yelled at her across the room.
“Lioness! That’s not true, I’m Shark! Lee mutated me and turned me into this!” Shark responded in a pleading tone, “You’ve got to believe me!”
Lioness decided to play along with the charade and quickly said: “Axel, we haven’t found Shark anywhere in the base so far, this creature might be telling the truth. At the least we can take it to Lee Industries and have Garrett do some DNA analysis. Are you going to come peacefully?” she finished, pointing her own Tag-blaster at Shark.
“Yeah, I’m not going to fight my friends.” Shark said with a heavy sigh, not exactly the welcome back he had wanted, but he kind of had expected it. Lioness quickly searched around, quickly finding a length of heavy chain.
“Just in case you decide to change your mind.” she explained as she bound his hands in a figure eight pattern then looped it several times around each wrist and finished with another figure eight. A lock served to hold the entire wrapping in place.
“Alright, let’s go.” Axel said, grabbing Shark’s forearm gently and leading him out of the control center.
----------------------------
King and Hawk were not particularly happy about having to escort the “monster” to Lee Industries for testing and the fact that Paine and Spydah had also escaped somehow didn’t help the situation. King, who had been experimented on before, was skeptical about whether or not the creature really was Shark; he was polite, but distant. It took nearly thirty minutes to get to Lee Industries using the back roads so no one would gawk at Shark. Shark would be happy to get this ordeal behind him.
