Thanks SO much for the feedback once again! I love it when people review. *blush*
I was so terrible to Danny in my last chapter and I think I may have shocked a few people. ^^; I was a little surprised myself and a little disappointed. I think the last chapter was going somewhere and then it turned into crap. I could have done much better. U-U
There won’t be too much of Danny in this chapter but he’ll be the star of the next one. Along with happy slash smut! *Winks* And keep on the lookout for signs of surprise pairings from here on out. Please read and review!
Disclaimer: *Sobs* I don’t own any of the little darlings! *Glares* But the story’s mine! *clings*

When Jazz opened the door and didn’t hear the TV on, she knew something was up. Danny almost always got home before her on Fridays and headed straight for the TV. His new favorite show aired about half an hour after he got out of school and it usually took almost 25 minutes to get from school to home. Jazz liked to debate with her rival for the top student in her class when school got out rather than get in trouble for speaking during class. So she usually arrived home around twenty minutes later than Danny.
She put her books aside on the kitchen table and searched around the house for Danny, starting in the basement. Danny was spending almost as much time down there as his parents recently. It really irked Jazz that Danny might be beginning to believe his parents. Was she the only sane person left in the house? Still, she loved each of them, even if they did drive her crazy. The search through the lower half of the house provided nothing. Jazz took her search up one floor, then another. Maybe Danny was in his room.
Jazz knocked on the door softly. “Danny? Danny, are you in there? How come you’re not watching your idiotic show?” She paused for a long moment. She didn’t receive an answer but she heard faint rustling. Besides, Danny usually didn’t bother to close his door when he wasn’t in his room. He’d leave it cracked but he wouldn’t close it. She rolled her eyes and barged in. “Danny what is your problem. It’s not like I can’t tell…you’re…”
Danny winced at the expression on Jazz’s face. She looked at him as if he’d grown another head. And why shouldn’t she? His lower lip was busted, he had bruises and bites all over his upper body, and the left side of his face was bruised and beginning to swell. Danny didn’t even have to look in the mirror to know what a sight he must be.
“Danny what happened?” Jazz paced quickly across the room and bent down over him examining him with gentle hands. Oddly enough, her brother shied away from her touch. “Danny, tell me what happened.” Jazz said in a more demanding tone. Her eyes fell on the gold chocker she reached out to touch it. “And where did you get this?”
Danny shook his head. He didn’t trust his voice to betray him, not that he had an explanation for anything. Well, not one he wanted to tell Jazz. If anyone knew, or even believed him, he didn’t want to think about what would happen. No one would ever be able to look at him the same way again. He was tainted forever. A few tears slipped past his control and fell. Danny pushed Jazz away and rolled over on his bed so his back was to her.
“Danny, I’m serious! Do I need to call the police? Mom and Dad?” Jazz became frustrated and even more worried when Danny refused to answer her. She was about to reach over and try to make him face her when the doorbell rang. “You stay right were you are Danny.” Jazz ordered.
Danny was sure he couldn’t get up and go anywhere even if he wanted to. He could feel dried blood and painful tears in his rectum that would probably break open all over again if he moved much more than he was already. Nearly everything hurt. Even lying still in bed hurt. Now that he had full use of his body again, it did him litgoodgood. Images of Vlad flashed through his head every now and then.
Jazz rushed downstairs and opened the door. She was surprised to find Dash there. “Dash, we don’t have a tutor session today.” Jazz looked a little annoyed as she put a hand on her hip.
“I know,” Dash looked annoyed for a second as well as if he was sure that Jasmine was insulting his intelligence level. “I’m actually here to talk to Danny about something important…” Dash said looking more humble and rubbing backback of his neck uncomfortably. Jazz locked onto him like a hunter to prey.
“You did it didn’t you? Or did you put one of your patsy friends up to it?” Jazz looked like she was ready to hit Dash. The boy blinked looking uncertain.
”Well…I didn’t really do anything. But I guess I gave him a good scare…” Dash didn’t think Jasmine would know about Danny’s strange abilities.
“Gave him a good scare?! It looks like you came close to taking his life!” Jazz’s voice reached a dangerous tone. Dash frowned and shook his head confusedly.
“What? I just caught him off guard…what are you bitching about?” Jazz was stunned briefly by the crude language, but Dash didn’t care. Sure Dash had a fleeting crush on Jasmine but he had acted on it only to harass Danny further and get a chance to see his home from the inside for once. But the crush was long since gone for Jazz and all she was doing right now was irritating him and confusing him. It had beerd erd enough to gather the courage to come talk to Danny and every minute he wasn’t doing so he was loosing nerve.
“Listen you bully!” Jazz regained her fiery and almost regal disposition quickly. “If I find any evidence that you harmed one hair on Danny’s head I’m going straight to the cops!” She poked Dash roughly on his chest and slammed the door in his face.
It was a few minutes later she realized that Dash had called Danny by his first name rather than his last…

When Jazz hung up on Tucker for the tenth time, the boy decided to call Sam. It was weird for Danny to not show up to school and then not call Tucker. It was just a thing they had going ever since they were kids. Danny knew exactly when Tucker got home, being the punctual freak he was, and would call him if he’d missed the day at school to ask about homework but mostly to shoot breebreeze. At this point, Tr war wasn’t very concerned, but he was worried. It was normal for Danny to act different and odd now a days, but Jazz was regular as clockwork.
“Hello?” Samantha’s familiar voice hummed through the phone.
“Sam? It’s Tucker. Have you called Danny at all today?” He asked her twirling his red beret around on his finger.
“No, that’s your thing. I got tired of the sig signal remember?” Sam deadpanned though she wasn’t upset about it.
“Well Danny didn’t call when I got home so I tried calling him…ten times. Only Jazz picks up. When I ask about Danny she told me he wasn’t well enough to speak on the phone and hung up on me. Every time. I think something’s wrong.”
“Or maybe she thinks you’re being annoying and overreacting.” Sam said almost as if she weren’t interested, but Tucker knew better.
“She sounds really tense, Sam. I think you should go over and check on Danny.” Tucker said patiently.
“Why me?” Sam snorted.
“Number one, you’re closer to his house. Number two, I’m grounded. Number three, Jazz probably won’t let me in or answer the door at all at this point. Number four, she’s always liked you better.” Tucker listed.
“So you do admit you were being a tad annoying.”
“Shut up.” Tucker said in a dangerous tone.
“Okay, okay I’ll go.” Sam sounded very pleased with herself. After a little more playful teasing the two best friends hung up. It was a good thing too because the doorbell rang almost immediately after he hung up the phone.
“Someone gonna get that?” When silence replied to his question he remembered his parents said they were going grocery shopping. Tucker groaned not wanting to get up but he did anyway, and took his sweet time. He felt crabby being grounded and worried about Danny so why should he jump at anyone else’s beck and call? If Danny was sand and he’d just gotten off the phone with Sam, there was no way the door was for him anyway.
“About freakin’ time!” An all too familiar voice greeted him irritably at the door. “What were you doing? Trying to find the cure for cancer?” Tucker looked up from the door handle he’d just pulled back to see Dash Baxter.
Hole-ee shit.
All Tucker could conclude from this unexpected visit was Dash felt he didn’t get enough torture in at school.
“Well don’t just stand there staring.” A snort from Dash snapped Tucker out of his fear trance. The shorter of the two boys put a fist on his hip.
“Well it’s not as though I’m going to invite you in.” This was HIS house. No way was he going to let anything degrading occur in here. Uh uh! Dash sighed as if impatiently bored and rolled his eyes.
“Look, is anyone else around?”
“No, for your information. But that doesn’t mean I can’t call the cops for harassment.”
“Geeze Tucker, I’m not here to bully you. Unless you give me good reason too. “ He added dangerously. “I stopped by D-Fenton’s house today but Jasmine wouldn’t let me in.” Tucker’s mouth dropped.
“You went to harass Danny in his own home too? When he’s sick?!” Tucker looked furious and dismayed. Dash growled and slammed his hand against the doorframe.
“Let me finish!” He snarled. Tucker quieted. “I know. I know that Fenton has something weird going on. I caught him the other day. I was going to talk to him at school today about it, but he wasn’t there. So I tried going to his house but something even weirder than Fenton is going on and she wouldn’t let me in. His sister accused me of beating him up to within an inch of his life. I couldn’t have since I was at school all day and he wasn’t.” Tucker’s mouth dropped yet again. Dash glowered at him and pushed the slender black jaw back up, much to Tucker’s discomfort.
“You…you know?! Holy fucking shit! Shitshitshitshit!” Tucker paused…then smacked himself in the forehead. “I just gave it away didn’t I?”
“Yep, you did. I didn’t know if you knew. Know I do. And now I want an explanation.” Dash crossed his arms. Tucker stared at Dash longer than he ever had. Directly in the eye even. He stepped to the side and pulled the door open wider.
“Just come in okay? We’ll see how much I’ll tell you.” Tucker said making no promises. It was then that it really hit Dash what a loyal friend Tucker was. He knew he scared the living crap out of the smaller black boy, but here he was only willing to divulge as much as he had to. The rest, Dash assumed, he would leave up to Danny. The quarterback brushed in by the techno buff and the door closed with an ominous thud.
