In the living room Crys sat behind Lumar massaging his back muscles, he was extremely tense. "So tell me Lumar...what happened today at the Lair?"
“Nothing much…I received a promotion…Do you mind moving your hand a little more to the left?”
“Sure…” she did so. “Nothing else happened?” She inquired doing her best to pick the tiger’s mind.
“Not really…if you can call peeling potatoes and fetching meat exciting.”
Crys rolled her eyes in frustration seeing that she wasn’t going to get anywhere with Lumar but continued kneading his shoulders. This will take longer than I expected…She sighed to herself listening to Lumar’s contented purring…
***************************************************************** Schwenk squeezed Tee-Lara’s big toe and a long black, razor sharp claw popped out. "Whoa..." he was taken aback, "That's a serious claw..."
The tigress giggled. "What did you expect? Just be careful not to hurt yourself...I'm supposed to file my claws down."
"Why? But surely these are a natural part of your kit..."
"Well..." she drawled. "I'm just thinking that I might hurt you in the heat of passion...Look what happened the other night...I bit you as part of the mating ritual...I should have checked with you first…but I lost control of myself."
"Listen....we're mated, partly because I love you and I love your Siberian-ness...that includes your claws. Would you consider filing your teeth..." he moved up and gently opened her jaws, where an impressive array of sharp white teeth glistened back at him.
She placed her hand over his moving it aside. "I would feel funny filing down my canines...How would I tear meat? That's something I wouldn't do...Oh Gaston, would you help me with my grooming?"
"Your groo.....how?"
Tee-Lara laughed; she shrugged out of her dress, reached into the side table and removed a shedding brush. The tigress handed it to Schwenk. "I just need you to brush my fur to remove debris...I can't brush my back...so this is where you come in." She lay on her stomach and moved her mane to one side.
Schwenk started brushing the tigress’ back, going with the nap. "Is that OK?"
She purred happily. "Oh yesssss..."
"Harder? Softer?"
The tigress was purring loudly. "That's fine...not to soft...yes...a little harder...pppeeeerrrrfffect!"
He smiled as he gave her pelt a good brushing. "Move down to your arse?"
"Hmmmmm and the legs..."
"OK..." he started brushing firmly over her buttocks, "Nice butt, nice and firm...could crack nuts with these cheeks..."
Tee-Lara giggled and reaching behind her she swatted Schwenk's hand. "Behave yourself!"
He blew a raspberry on her butt laughing loudly.
She wiggled her butt giving a delighted squeal.
He beamed and then moved down to her legs, they were muscular and of formidable size. "OK, missy...tell me about you....tell me about your family, after all, I'm related now..."
"Oh...well what is there to tell?" The tigress raised herself up on her elbows. "I have no siblings...raised a single cub from a well-to-do family of Siberians...Ran away from home when I was sixteen winters...Took to the streets and to make money I decided to turn tricks..."
"Ah...but now you've settled...I'd love to meet your parents..."
Her fur bristled and she abruptly rose from the bed...
"What's up, hun...I haven't finished..."
Tee-Lara threw on a dressing gown. "Thanks Gaston...You did a great job."
"Tee....what did I say??"
She stood with her back to a bewildered Schwenk; the tigress inhaled then slowly exhaled. "My...parents...You said that you would like to meet my parents...It wouldn't be possible."
"Oh no.....wh...I'm sorry....have they passed??"
Tee-Lara shook her head. "No...I've been disowned...They want nothing to do with me..."
"Oh no, hun..." Schwenk went to her and put his arms around her. "How could they do such a thing?"
"They disowned me once they found out about me prostituting myself...I have shamed the family...They want nothing to do with me...Now you can understand why I couldn't believe that you would want someone like me."
"I'll speak to them...make them understand..."
She turned in his arms. "Oh no Gaston...you must not go anywhere near them! You're a human they would more likely kill then serve you up as a main dish! They absolutely HATE humans and I have gone and mated with one!"
"Well....I'm sorry...they need telling!!" he said firmly. "They can't just erase you..."
Tee-Lara sagged against Schwenk. "You’re so very brave Gaston...But you don't understand Siberians...My parents are brutal..."
"I'll take Lumar with me..."
“But Lumar doesn't like Siberians...Would he really accompany you?"
"I'll make him!! He's my brother...what's the address..."
"I'll write it out for you...They live in the posh area on the other side of the Cat's Lair...high town."
"LUMAR!!!!" he bellowed.
Tee-Lara touched Schwenk's arm. "Are you really going to head out there...to see my parents?"
"Yes, darn tooting...worst case scenario is they continue to say 'no'..."
She kissed her man. "Thank you...I love you so much Gaston."
Lumar stood in the doorway. "Did I hear you bellowing for me? Oops…Sorry...I guess I've come at a bad time..."
"No, Lumar...we're heading to an address...OK..."
"Now?" He asked. "What for?"
"I'll explain on the way..." Schwenk grabbed Lumar and headed to a cab rank.
"But...I don't understand...you're dragging me off to who knows where and for what? Crys was giving me a wonderful massage...I was only now relaxing."
"Sorry, bro..." Schwenk then told Lumar the whole tale.
The tiger folded his arms. "I don't want to go..." he said firmly. "I don't want to be in the heart of Siberian County."
"Pleeeeeease....I need you!! You really want me going alone?"
"They would probably eat you as soon as you stepped outside of the cab...Siberians hate humans." Lumar sighed reluctantly. "I can't let you go there alone yet I am furious with you for dragging me out there...I have my reasons for not liking Siberians."
"Please tell me..."
“No..." Lumar growled. "I don't want to reawaken old wounds...You may be my brother but I can't share everything with you...You wouldn't understand plus you would blab to your mate."
"OK...I respect that..." he nodded.
"Well...where is this place? Are we there yet?"
"Not sure....Hey cabbie....we there yet?"
The cabbie, a sour-faced lynx glared at the human through the rear view mirror. "Keep yer britches on...I'll tell you when we get there! What's yer rush?!"
"No problem...just tell me when we get there..."
Lumar leaned back in his seat. "Why are you doing this?"
"If Crys had the same dilemma, would you not do the same?"
"Of course I would." He replied without hesitation. "I love her...But why would you risk yourself for the Siberian? Are you really that madly in love with her?"
"We're mated, Lumar....that is a real commitment..."
The tiger said nothing further; the cab stopped at an intersection. "This is it folks...end of the ride...You're at your destination High Street Wedge...That will be 35 Thunderian dollars please."
Schwenk handed forty over. They got out. "Whoa...nice pad..." he whistled. They walked up the long path and Schwenk knocked on the door.
The door was opened by a very petite mottled midnight black and white cat of a lower breed wearing a maid's uniform. "May I help you?" She asked glaring up at Schwenk and Lumar.
"I wish to speak with the master of the house..."
She glanced at Lumar, "The master gave specific orders to have the
Human butchered into manageable pieces and delivered around the back. He is not going to kill this fresh meat himself! Why is it that the butcher won’t listen to specific orders?"Schwenk gulped. He decided to go for broke. "Tell him his....son-in-law is here..."
"What son-in-law?!" She exclaimed looking Lumar up and down; the tiger frowned. "Not me...him...the human!"
The she-cat slowly backed away from the door and ran inside to find the master.
Lumar sighed. "You've done it now Schwenk."
"Get ready to run, Lumar..." Schwenk started backing away, very slowly. "If he comes at me....hold ‘im off for about ten seconds and follow me...OK?"
"Sure...just stand behind me, okay?" The tiger advised; they heard footsteps hurrying towards them. "Brace yourself."
Schwenk's heart pounded, wanting out from this loser's body.
A rather large Siberian came into view growling; he wasn't as tall or big in girth as Lumar. When he saw the huge Beni at the door, he changed his tactics. "Yes...what is it?!" He demanded. "What is this nonsense about being my son-in-law?"
"Hello..." Schwenk stepped out. "Yes...as it happens I am mated with your daughter, Tee-Lara. Custom dictates that I needed your permission....however, this was not possible and then I discovered that Tee-Lara is disowned, therefore permission is not needed..."
"TEE-LARA!" The Siberian bellowed. "SPEAK NOT THAT NAME HERE--SHE IS A WHORE! I have NO DAUGHTER!" The Siberian extended his claws; Lumar snarled a warning. "Be careful there...think carefully about what you are about to do."
"She is not a whore, not anymore...she just needed a break. I gave her a break and she is a delightful young woman. I’d rather you didn't continue to disown her...but...if you must then it's your loss..."
Tee-Lara's father snorted. "You have the nerve to stand on my doorstep behind this freak and tell me I shouldn't disown my daughter? Look what she married--A HUMAN! She has truly brought this family to shame."
Schwenk walked up the steps. "Well, when we have your grandchildren your own blood relatives will be half-human...imagine that. Something your neighbors would love! Don't reject me because I'm human...embrace us as the happy couple and be proud you're so progressive!"
"GET OFF MY PROPERTY!" The Siberian yelled. "TAKE YOUR FREAKISH TIGER MONSTER WITH YOU!"
Tee-Lara's father couldn't possibly have known how much his words tore into Lumar's heart; the big cat reached out, grabbed the Siberian by his shirt collar and had the man nose to nose with him. "Listen to me, my friend." Lumar began. "I am not a freak...These are the facts…My tiger brother here has married YOUR daughter and has come on her behalf to ask you to welcome them with an open heart. I suggest you do so or else...do I make myself clear?"
Schwenk was about to intercede, but realized that Lumar was doing a fine job all alone.
Tee-Lara's father's mouth was flapping like a fish. "But...but..."
"No buts..." Lumar growled showing his very long and sharp canines. "Say 'hi' to your new son-in-law...and be NICE...Your daughter loves him very much...If I release you, will you give my brother any trouble?"
The Siberian shook his head; Lumar set the shaking man back down on the ground.
"Please...erm.....oh, I'm afraid I do not know your name even...." Schwenk said calmly.
Tee-Lara's father brushed his clothes back into place and took a huge gulp of air. "It's Selwyn S'Larr...Well you both might as well come inside then."
Lumar shook his head, "I prefer to remain outside."
"Selwyn...if I come inside would you guarantee my safety? My brother, Lumar gets very twitchy about my safety..."
"You don't have to worry." Selwyn cast a wary eye in the Beni's direction. "I guarantee your safety only if you can guarantee mine against him."
"Goes without saying..." he stepped inside. "Just keep an ear out Lumie...I'll be fine...Selwyn promised..."
Lumar bared his canines at the Siberian as a warning; Tee-Lara's father gulped and hurriedly followed Schwenk inside. "Please sit..."
Schwenk sat in an impressive drawing room. Tee-Lara's folks were clearly loaded. "Business must be good..."
"Yes...it is." The Siberian sat opposite. "So you are...mated to my daughter...For how long?"
"How long? Is there normally a time limit?" he asked.
"No...I was just asking out of curiosity but I suppose it doesn't matter. How is...Tee-Lara?"
"She is well...she seems to love me very much...she....she's upset about, this 'family' situation...I said I would try my best, but...no promises..."
Selwyn was about to speak when his mate appeared, she was tall and stately; it was obvious where Tee-Lara got her looks. Her mother frowned. "I heard from the maid that this is Tee-Lara's ...mate."
Schwenk stood and bowed. "Gaston Schwenk at your service!"
She sniffed. "Is that so? A...human?" She said with obvious distaste; Selwyn rose. "This is my mate, Sentina."
"A pleasure, Sentina..." he smiled warmly and held his hand out.
Tee-Lara's mother ignored the proffered hand and sat crossing her muscular legs. "So my daughter, the prostitute, decided to mate with a human...how interesting."
"My dear...please." Selwyn sat and had a pained expression on his face.
"I come bearing an olive branch. Your daughter is a wonderful female...Now, don't get me wrong, if any child of mine went into prostitution I'd be devastated, horrified....but....I'd never disown her...I'd just push her further into the grip of the low life. You're both lucky she has survived, and she's survived by being smart....she's a smart woman! We both love each other....and, besides, I will get her a job at....the Cat's Lair..."
Selwyn and Sentina exchanged surprised glances with one another. "The Cat's Lair? How on New Thundera do you expect to get a job at the Lair?"
"Because I already have a job there....Lumar, you've met him, Selwyn...is Lord Lion-O's personal sparring partner..."
Well this news changed the entire atmosphere within the drawing room; Tee-Lara's parents' actually became friendlier towards the human. Sentina actually beamed. "Where are my manners? Gaston, would you like something to drink? It isn't often that Lord Lion-O associates himself with...well humans."
"Hang on, hang on...before we get all pally pally...I want you to call your daughter, speak to her...be nice to her....tell her she is NOT disowned and you made a mistake!"
Selwyn smiled. "But of course we'll speak to her...and may we extend an invitation for you and Tee-Lara to have supper at our house!"
He raised an eyebrow. "Certainly..." he nodded.
"Gaston, would you like to stay and have something to eat with us?" Sentina purred. "Perhaps you could tell us what it is like working at the Cat's Lair with his majesty?"
"I would like that...but...I did overhear the maid.....no human flesh for me please....one never knows who one is eating...may be a relative and Gods know my relatives disagree with me enough already..." he flash a quick smile.
Selwyn laughed. "I think we can make an exception, in your case and serve salad greens...Um...what about your bodyguard out there? Won't he come in for a bite?"
"Well....I can ask...but he does eat like a pig, I'm afraid..."
“Ask him." Sentina urged. "Please do!"
"Please call Tee-Lara first; she'll be worried sick..."
Sentina flapped her hand dramatically. "Very well..." She rose and went to the wall console which had a comm unit embedded in it. "What's your number Gaston?"
"Here..." he handed a piece of paper over to her.
She took it and punched the number written on it onto the comm; there was a slight pause and Tee-Lara's alarmed face appeared on the screen. "M-Mother? Is that you?"
"Of course you silly child--your mate is here, all is forgiven and I would like us to be one big happy family!"
"I want to speak to Gaston." Tee-Lara requested.
Schwenk walked over. "Hi Tee..." he waved.
"Gaston...can you come home...we need to talk." She said without preamble. "Please...as soon as you can."
"Tee? What's wrong?" he spoke more seriously now.
"Nothing...please...just come home."
OK, OK...I'll be home in ten, hun..." he soothed.
Tee-Lara appeared more relaxed. "Good...I'll see you soon...bye."
Sentina raised an eyebrow. "Now what was that all about? I thought she would be at least grateful that I called."
"She’s worried about me, poor thing. If you'll excuse me, I shall return to her and then contact you on the comms about supper..."
"Excellent!" Selwyn and Sentina walked Schwenk to the front. "Do that the minute you get home!"
"Of course...and it's been a pleasure to meet both of you....Sentina...I can see where Tee-Lara gets her looks from..."
Tee-Lara's mother gave a girlish giggle. "Why thank you Gaston...The pleasure was all ours...Please you must come back...We're quite anxious to hear everything that goes on at the Cat's Lair."
Selwyn beamed. "Imagine that...you work at the lair!"
"We'll see you very soon...take care..." he walked back to a hard-arsed looking Lumar. "Come on bro, let's get back home..."
"It took you long enough...why now the sudden rush to get home?"
"Tee wants me back for some reason..." he shrugged.
"Hmmm doesn't sound very good...why don't you take some flowers home to lessen the blow." The tiger suggested.
"What blow?"
He shrugged. "I don't know...When a woman tells you to hurry home, doesn't it usually mean you're in some sort of deep shit with her?"
"No....think she was more worried..." they hailed a cab and went back home. He ran up the stairs and into their apartment. "Tee??" he called.
Tee-Lara poked her head out from the living room; she came rushing out. "There you are!"
"I'm here..." he spread his arms and declared.
"I was really worried about you being over by my folks and I didn't like the tone in my mother's voice...She was too happy! What did you say to them?"
He smiled. "She said it all....all is forgiven, hun...you have parents again and they have a daughter and son-in-law..."
Tee-Lara shook her head. "No...It all sounded too easy...My mother...my folks are tyrants...You must have said something that got to them...They are social climbers, you know...people who like to brag about their station in life."
"...and that's where I nailed them, hun..." he winked.
"How? What did you say?"
"Well...who, socially, is the biggest on this world?"
"Aside from them? Well...the King of course."
"Oh? You mean the King that I personally work for??"
"Yes." She laughed. "That's the only person I can think of."
"There you go then...I am close to the King, therefore I'm less likely to get eaten....and...I'm getting you a job at the Lair..."
Tee-Lara blinked. "Me? You're getting a job for me at the Lair? Me--what could I possibly do there? Now I understand why my parents were so incredibly nice to you..."
"Oh please, you're very talented, clever, attractive...we'll get you something..."
"Oh...that would be so nice...” the tigress brightened. "Perhaps you could get a job for Crystalandra working at the Lair too! She would be all alone here at the apartment. Couldn't you get a job for her too Gaston?"
"No way!! Sh’iars hate the T-Cats and the feelings are mutual, so please...when in the Lair mention nothing about her, got it?"
"I-I don't understand...Why don't we ask her?" Tee-Lara bounded off against Schwenk's protestations in search of the elusive Sh'iar warrior.
"NO!!!" he shouted at her.
Crys was sitting in the dining room idly flipping through some magazines; she glanced up seeing the tigress. "What's your mate shouting about?"
"Gaston says he could get me a job at the Lair and I was thinking that maybe he could get you a job there as well...Wouldn't you like that?"
"Stop..." Schwenk skidded to a halt seeing that a conversation had already been started.
Crys set her book aside. "I don't think it is a wise decision to get me a job at the Lair."
Tee-Lara plopped herself down beside the she-cat. "Why not? It would be a great opportunity for you to get in good with the ThunderCats."
"Tee....just leave it, please. Crys has already said 'no'..."
The tigress shot Schwenk an annoyed look. "Crys...say yes...Think of it, you could be the first to repair relations between the Sh'iars and the ThunderCats."
"Repair?" he snorted. "Cause a war more like!"
The she-cat sighed. "Tee-Lara...you are sweet...It is very thoughtful of you to think about me...But believe me...Lion-O would not appreciate having me around the Lair...considering my recent actions..."
Schwenk's heart sunk. "Have you told Lumar yet?" He asked the Sh’iar directly.
"No...Why would I? It has nothing to do with him." Crys snapped; Tee-Lara's brown eyes were big with curiosity. "Crystalandra...what have you done?"
"She's an arsonist!" Schwenk filled the gap.
"I burned down his summer retreat, half of the forest, and his prize stock of royal deer...among other things." The she-cat admitted. "I did it of my own accord after being thrown out from the Sanctuary."
Schwenk paused. "What? The Sanctuary?? Why??"
"WHY?!" She raged rising angrily to her feet. "Because Argo is a goddamned liar, a user, and he sickens me! He and Lumar are both alike treating me like I'm some sort of trophy!" Crys rushed out of the apartment slamming the door in her wake.
Schwenk frowned and shrugged. "Well now we know..."
Tee-Lara grabbed Schwenk's hand. "The poor girl...But she has it all wrong...Lumar doesn't treat her like a trophy...he loves her."
"Of course he does...she's just a tough bitch who refuses to let him in..." he replied. "Now...go get showered and dressed. We have a dinner date..."
"Dinner date?" Tee-Lara asked somewhat puzzled. "With whom? Not my folks!"
“Yes your folks..." he smiled and squeezed her hand.
"B-but what about Lumar and Crys? We can't leave them alone...especially not with Crys in that state! Say...where is Lumie?"
"He was right behind me...Tee? This is about you and your parents....let's heal that rift then we can help those two...think about yourself for a change..."
She nodded reluctantly. "I'm sorry...I guess I have a soft heart...you're right I should think about myself but I'm not like that at all."
"I know...now...care to share a shower?"
Tee-Lara grinned. "I never knew you were so environmentally conscious...what an excellent idea but we might wind up being late for dinner..."
"Oh....I'll go run the shower; you call them back to say we're going..."
"If I must...I'll let them know." Tee-Lara walked over to the wall comms; Lumar came wandering in, he had a towel thrown about his shoulder and he was sweaty. So he had been out for a work out in the gym.
"Hey big guy....how are you?
"Okay..." Lumar replied. "What's going on? Where's Crys?"
"Sit down, bro..."
"I was going to have a shower...as you can see I'm all hot and sweaty." The tiger cocked his head. "What's going on?" He asked again.
"Sit..." he said softly.
Lumar sat rather reluctantly and waited.
"Crys burned the Summer House down, the forest and Royal Herd..."
"Which is why she smelled like smoke." The Beni sighed. "Why did she do it and why didn't she just tell me the truth?"
"Don't know to both...She feels you're trying to own her, not love her...she thinks you want her as a trophy..."
"T-that's not true!" Lumar wailed, "How could she possibly think that?! I love her! Wh-why can't she see that?!"
"Shhh..." he placed a hand on each of Lumar's sweaty shoulders. "First, you need to find her, secondly...apologize like never before...on bended knee maybe....then....we four go to T's parents for dinner...."
The Beni shook his head. "I will not break bread with Siberians...I will find Crys but I will not go back to Tee-Lara's parents place...You heard already what her father called me...a freak...no."
"Oh Lumar....please...I can and they eat humans...Better called a freak than a filling! Besides, you put him in his place..."
Lumar looked away growling. "How can I make you understand my feelings regarding Siberians...I've been taunted as a cub...called a freak...it hurts."
"Hurts? Of course it hurts!" he grabbed his chin and brought back eye contact. "Let me again say...to most cats I am food!! Don't snarl, don't growl and don't huff....spend ten seconds on how you think that makes me feel!!" he snapped back.
"...and how is that any different from being called a freak."
He raised an eyebrow. "OK, I call you a freak and you eat me....who feels worse?"
Crys waltzed in--she addressed Lumar directly. "Tee-Lara has insisted that we accompany herself and the monkey to her parents...get dressed." And out she walked.
"Go get her!! Remember what I said!!"
"She doesn't look as though she's in any mood to talk."
"Coward!" he snorted, trying to get a reaction.
Lumar snarled. "I AM NOT A COWARD!" And he blew a blast of hot air in Schwenk's face.
"Then go and apologize!!!"
The big tiger rose and went after the Sh'iar warrior.
Schwenk sniffed and screwed his nose. "Tiger sweat....gross!!" he went to find his own tigress, who appreciated the smell more..."
She was waiting for Schwenk in their bedroom; the tigress turned upon hearing his entrance. "Well...what's happening? I hope you're not upset that I invited them along. I feel there is safety in numbers."
"I'm delighted.....hey, sniff me..." he winked.
Her nose flared taking in Schwenk's alluring smell. "Gaston...you smell wonderful!" She purred.
"I know....it's a hard scent to get hold of as well..." he chuckled.
She aggressively pulled the human into her embrace and licked his face. "You don't know how much your tiger scent drives me...wild..."
"You...you do know...it's not me....right?"
"Not you?" The tigress asked confused. "But your scent is clearly that of a tiger...You are human but you have the strong scent of a tiger..."
"Lumar's scent..."
"I know what Lumar smells like...he has a distinct scent...I am not smelling his direct scent on you at all Gaston...Your scent is a unique blended smell."
“OK, that's cool...then I'm all yours!!" he winked.
“Yes...you are..." She nibbled gently on his ear lobe.
"But we have dinner to attend..." he licked her ear lobe.
"Hmmmmm...you're absolutely right...Let's shower, change, and get the dinner over with." Tee-Lara sighed; there was quite a lot of shouting taking place outside their bedroom and it was mostly Crys.
"Over with? I...I thought I would make you happy..."
"How could you possibly make me happy over all that shouting?"
"Oh..." he felt crestfallen. "Well...if you want to cancel...I understand..." he shrugged and flopped onto the bed.
"Oh no...I don't want to cancel, Gaston!" Tee-Lara sat on the bed beside Schwenk. "Oh please don't be like that...I really and truly appreciate what you have done for me!"
"You don't seem....well....happy, or bothered..."
"I am quite happy...I-I was just wondering if I did the right thing inviting Crys and Lumar...It sounds like a world war out there..." Tee-Lara squeezed Schwenk in a bear hug. "You're a wonderful man and I am so lucky to have you in my life!"
The air was suddenly squeezed from his lungs. "Whoa...." he coughed. "Should we.....you know...try and help them?"
"I don't know how we can possibly assist?" The tigress sighed. "What do you suggest Gaston?"
"Gods only knows...at least Crys listens to you..."
"I suppose she does because I am a woman..." Tee-Lara and Schwenk bolted upright when they heard a loud crash. "That doesn't sound very good!"
"You lead...you're bigger than me..."
Tee-Lara rushed out of the bedroom followed by Schwenk; Crys and Lumar were facing off with one another snarling and hissing--the she-cat had thrown a huge table at the Beni. He ducked and it went out the picture window into the street.
"STOP!!!!" Schwenk pleaded and he went to restrain Lumar.
Tee-Lara fed up with the constant fighting between the she-cat and the tiger, marched over to Crys and backhanded her across the face. "STOP IT AT ONCE! STOP THIS PETTY BICKERING!" The Sh'iar warrior watched the tigress shocked by this onslaught.
Schwenk froze, disbelieving of what he'd witnessed. "Lumar...we need to go into another room to calm down...OK?"
The Beni wordlessly exited leaving the tigress alone with Crystalandra who was clutching her face still in shock that the Siberian had struck her.
“What happened to your apology?" he hissed.
"I didn't feel that I needed to apologize...I was demanding one from her." Lumar seethed, his tail was rapidly flicking back and forth.
"You idiot!!" he snorted. "Are you really that thick...we had this talk!"
"I am the dominant alpha male in this relationship...I have no reason to apologize." The Beni insisted pacing back and forth. "She became angry...you should have heard the filth that came flying out of her mouth!"
“STOP!!!" he commanded. "I'm the alpha male in this house!!"
The big cat ceased his pacing, turned, and gave Schwenk an incredulous look that said you-must-be-kidding..."Since when?" Lumar challenged growling, his green eyes flashed in fury.
"Right now, buck-o....now, march that sorry arse of yours back to Crys and, by the Gods...you WILL say sorry to her!!" he jabbed his finger at Lumar.
Schwenk knew what he was doing was quite dangerous but the most important thing was not to back down in front of this massive behemoth; the Beni's whiskers twitched...he seemed to be carefully contemplating the human's words. Schwenk stared defiantly into Lumar's face; the tiger sagged backing down. "All right..."
"Come..." he turned and sighed a huge sigh of relief. "Crys?" Schwenk walked right up to her. "Lumar has something to say to you..."
"I too have something to say..." Crys declared watching the tigress warily from the corner of her eye. "I-I'm sorry for my actions...I wasn't aware that your feelings ran that deep for me..."
"Lumar..." Schwenk urged and gave Lumar a steely look.
The tiger swallowed. "I-I also want to apologize for my actions...It was not my intention to make you feel like a trophy...You're not...You mean much more than that to me...Please accept my apology."
Schwenk backed away slowly, back to his tigress.
Tee-Lara nodded satisfied. "Now you two...go get dressed and I hope you will both be on your best behaviour with my parents."
Crystalandra hissed and immediately fled the room making a beeline for the spare bedroom; Lumar shrugged. "I did my best." He too left to change.
"What do you think? Will Crys forgive him?"
The tigress shrugged. "I don't know...I don't understand why she is so resistant to falling in love with him...She's quite a tough girl..."
"Putting it mildly...but at least she listens and speaks with you...you did good!"
"I was actually frightened! Gaston--I struck a Sh'iar warrior! I thought she was going to kill me for certain...But she froze and just watched me!"
"Hmm....just be careful with her, OK?"
"Of course...However did you get Lumar to listen without biting your head off?!" She asked.
"Erm....like you...I commanded him and did something I'll have to be careful of in the future..."
Tee-Lara clutched at Schwenk's arm. "You should always be careful with Lumar...You may be the alpha but he will challenge you when he is ready to show his dominance..."
"I know...when that happens I'll roll over and give it back..."
The tigress kissed Schwenk on his forehead. "Watch yourself with him..."
"Of course...now...we'd better dress and be ready for inspection..."
