Words
“Because even the smallest of words can be the ones to hurt you, or save you.” ― Natsuki Takaya
Ikem and Kiyi were gathering shells on the beach when they saw Azula sun bathing. Kiyi ran over yelling, "Azula, Azula, Azula"."You're blocking my sun," said Azula as she continued looking at the ocean.Kiyi moved behind Azula. "Do you want to help us gather seashells?""No.""Azula, I thought you went for a walk with Zuko and Ursa.""You thought wrong." Ursa and Zuko didn't tell her about their walk. They left her in the house alone. She had no idea where they were. Once again she'd been left out."Don't stand there papa. You're blocking Azula's sun.""Oh, ok, s-s-sorry." He moved to the opposite side."Azula, there you are I've been looking for you." Zuko ran over."Don't stand there Zuko. You're blocking Azula's sun." Kiyi had become Azula's sun blocking police.Azula smirked. "She's right Zuko"."I need to talk to you. Let's go so we can talk in private." Azula wasn't moving. "It's important." Zuko's brow lowered."Fine." Azula stood and stretched. Her stretching always got Zuko's attention. His eyes wondered up and down her body. Ikem noticed the way Zuko eyed Azula. Kiyi was too preoccupied with her seashells to notice. "Let's go, Zuko". The words moved his eyes from her body to her mouth. Azula started walking and Zuko followed.Zuko stopped her once they were out of sight. "Before you ask I didn't tell mom about us.” He saw her frown. “I have a good reason. I was going to tell her today, but we were interrupted. The family is supposed to have dinner with the director of the Ember Players tonight before the big fireworks show. ""Zuko, I already know about the dinner.""What you don't know is mom and the director are trying to set you up with someone."The distress on Zuko's face caused Azula to laugh. "Are you serious?""Yes, we ran into the director. I walked away for a few moments while they were talking. When I came back he said something about this guy being a great match for your beautiful daughter and that the guy had became smitten with her after meeting last summer. Then they got real quiet when they saw me.""Well he did say beautiful daughter so we know he's talking about me." Her lips curled into a smile as she ran her hand up Zuko's chest. "Zuzu, you're jealous of some unknown random guy.""I just don't want to sit through dinner watching some guy flirt with you.""Because you're jealous. Oh, and now you're doing your pouty angry face." Azula laughed."It's not funny" Zuko reached for her.Azula quickly moved out of his reach. "Too slow as usual Zuzu.""I’ll show you who" Zuko tried to grab her. He missed."I'm faster than you Zuko." A smug smile covered her face. "You can't catch me." She ran.Zuko ran after her. She was fast. Azula was as agile as she was fast. Her agility gave her a big advantage. She skillfully maneuvered over rocks, fallen branches, and any other obstacle in her path. Zuko’s navigation was clumsier. Trips and almost falls slowed Zuko down. He wasn't going to give up on catching her. His tenacity was something she admired about him. It made the chase more fun. It felt like old times. They'd chase each other for hours when they were kids. This chase was their first "just for fun" chase in years.Ikem saw Zuko running after Azula from the balcony. The sight worried him. He'd noticed Zuko's lust filled eyes running over Azula's body earlier. It wasn't the first time Ikem saw Zuko look at Azula that way. Last year he thought he saw Zuko lusting after Azula but it was only for a few seconds. Ikem told himself he was mistaken. Especially, after that Zuko got into an argument with Azula soon after the look. Azula and Zuko didn't speak or look at each other the rest of that day. Today Ikem was sure about what he saw. Zuko's eyes lingered on Azula. However, they weren't his children. Plus, they were legally adults. "Zuko wouldn't try to take advantage of his sister, would he?" He sighed. Ikem stroked his goatee."Is something wrong dear?" Ursa placed her hand on her lover's shoulder. "You're stroking your goatee something must be on your mind.""I was just thinking about Azula and Zuko's relationship. Look at them" Ikem pointed to Zuko chasing Azula."Oh that, they used to chase each other as kids all the time. Most of the time it was Azula chasing after Zuko. I guess things have changed." Ursa smiled. The sight of her children playing made her happy. "It's wonderful. It's been over a day and they haven't argued once. There is something different about their relationship. Can't you feel it?'The middle aged man looked away from Ursa. "There's certainly something different", he responded in a distant voice. Ikem saw Azula and Zuko disappear into the brush.Azula leaned against a huge palm tree. Victory was written arrogantly on her face. "I win Zuzu."
A winded Zuko slowly approached her. "You won that time." He moved a few steps closer. "I'll win the next time.""I am too fast.""Go", the word barely left his lips before he kissed her. The kiss was so passionate it took Azula's breath away. Now she was the one breathing heavy. "See,I won."His lust filled eyes seemed to burn through her clothes. "I think it'll best if we go inside...Zuzu."He tore his eyes from her. "Yeah, we should go." He took her hand. “Mom and I are going for a walk in the morning. I am going to tell her tomorrow, promise.”/////////////Ikem walked on to the porch. Ursa and Kiyi were waiting for him. They dressed in their best Ember Beach attire. Tonight's dinner with the Ember Players was important. The acting community was small and relationships between troupes were important. Troupes working together kept the acting community alive and flourishing."Don't you two, look wonderful." He kissed Ursa on the cheek. "I'm a lucky man to be spending the evening with such lovely ladies. Where's the third lovely lady?""Azula, has a headache. It's so unfortunate. Sai's son was so looking forward to seeing her again. Well, at least she won't be alone. Zuko said he's going to stay in case she needs anything. I think he's concerned about her being alone. Let's go we don't want to be late.""Are you sure we should leave them alone? If Zuko is worried about her maybe we should stay."
"Don't look so worried, Ikem. My son believes he can protect his sister. I believe in him. She'll be safe with him."///////////Zuko watched his extended family from the balcony. Soon they were out of view. A dinner with "those theater people" as Azula called them would have been uncomfortable for the royal siblings. The theater world was very different the world Azula and Zuko grew up in. It was one of the reasons why Zuko insisted he stay and take care of Azula. No matter how hard Zuko tried he could not relate to some of his mother's friends or their children. At least Zuko tried, Azula didn't bother. Tolerance for a short period of time was what the fire princess would give her mother's theater people."Are they gone?" Azula leaned against the doorway."Azula", he closed the distance between them in two quick strides, "what are you doing up?" His eyes showed his concern. "Do you need something?" He caressed her cheek with the back of his hand. Her lips curled upward slightly. "I am fine, Zuzu. The headache was ruse so we didn't have to go to that stupid dinner.""I thought you had a headache.""Oh, were you worried about me, Zuzu?" The question was laced with playful sarcasm."Of course I was worried." It wasn't a lie. Any medical condition with Azula worried him. He took her hand. "I'm glad you're OK.""OK and" Her fingertips danced over his bare chest, "well rested". She lightly touched the scar she'd given him.It felt as if he was struck by lightning but in a good way. The words well rested echoed in his head. For moment he thought maybe the words didn't mean what he thought they did. The desire in her eyes told him his first thought was right. He couldn't find the right words so he kissed her. The kiss would tell him how she really felt. The kiss started out soft but sensual. Her arms wrapped around his neck pulling him in closer. Her mouth opened to fully kiss him. Zuko pulled her in as close as possible. The closeness allowed her to feel is growing arousal."Let's take this somewhere else," she mumbled against his lips."Let's", he scooped her up in his arms before kissing her. The kiss continued until Zuko laid her on his bed. They gazed into each other's eyes. "Are you sure you want-"Azula pulled him in for a kiss. There would be no doubt on this night. They didn't have to hold back or hide their passion. This was something they both wanted. Zuko untied her belt as he kissed down her neck to her collarbone. He was taken aback for a moment after realizing she wasn't wearing anything under her robe. "Zuzu, you're staring.""I can't help it.” He gave her a coy smile. "I want to see you", he whispered, "all of you." He watched as Azula slipped out of her robe. The way he looked at her, heated her to the core. "I hope you don't plan on just staring." A naughty smile crossed her lips.It excited him. His rapidly hardening cock pressed against his shorts. "Slow" the word echoed in his head. Zuko wanted to take it slow. Tonight was going to be special. Tonight he'd erase the bad memories of their covenant consummation.
Azula rubbed her hand against his bulge. "I'm ready, Zuzu".He kissed her softly. The kiss became more passionate as he lightly squeezed and tugged her nipples. Her erotic sighs changed into moans as his mouth replaced his hands. He suckled each nipple leaving them taut. Zuko slowly kissed his way down her body. She was dripping wet with anticipation by the time he reached her pussy. The kisses continued. A lusty groan made it pass her lips as he stuck is tongue inside. Zuko licked her dewy wet rosebud causing her hips to buckle. He grabbed her firm buttocks pulling her closer to his mouth. His eyes darted up. The sight of her playing with her nipples intensified his hunger for her. Zuko ran his tongue rapidly over her clit. Azula arched her back as she screamed ecstasy. Her climax ran through her like a bolt of lightning.Zuko kissed his way back up to her mouth giving her chance to catch her breath. Azula's hand moved down to the waistband of Zuko's shorts. "Are you going to keep these on?""No". He quickly removed his shorts. Her eyes moved over his body stopping at his fully erect dick. She bit her bottom lip to stop from saying what was on her mind. She wasn't ready to let him know just how bad she wanted him. The look she gave him said everything she refused to say out loud.Zuko slid inside her slowly, relishing the experience. He started pumping in a slow rhythm. Her moans and gasps guiding him. Tonight was all about Azula. Her reactions determined what he should do and how fast he should go. He heard the word “more” twisted inside her moans. Zuko pumped harder and faster. The sight of his beautiful sister quivering and wriggling from ecstasy underneath him was almost too much. Will power was the only reason he did not come."Yeeesssss, Zuko, ye" the remaining part of the statement was lost in a primal moan. Her pussy clamped down on him as she came."Azula, I…" he clenched his teeth and groaned. He couldn't hold out any longer. The feel of her coming was too great of a sensation. Zuko unloaded inside her. He kissed her softly and sweetly before sliding out his cock. "Are you okay?" He saw her shake her head indicating "yes". "Good". Zuko gave her a quick kiss on the forehead. The fire lord wrapped his arms around his princess spooning with her. "I didn't hurt you, did I? Hurting you is not something I want to do.""No. You kept your word. It was better this time." Azula couldn't see the huge smile she put on Zuko's face. Her words made him happy and brought him relief. He wasn't sure what to say so he kissed her shoulder while she made herself comfortable in his arms. The contact with her body and the euphoria of the moment caused his penis to start to stiffen."Down, Zuko, the healer said we should take it easy at first.""I'm sorry. I've never had this problem before."Knowing she had this kind of effect on him brought a smug smile to her face. "I wouldn't say" she rubbed up against him, "it was a problem. A wife likes knowing her husband desires her."////////////////////////When Zuko first woke up he was momentarily surprised Azula was in his arms. Last night felt like a dream. They'd spent the night together as husband and wife. It was perfect. The warmth of her body lulled him back to sleep. A couple hours later, the sun brightened the room awakening Zuko and Azula. They had overslept."I am late", Zuko jumped out of bed. "Mom and I were supposed to go for our walk at sunrise." Zuko pulled on a pair of shorts. "I'm going to tell her about us this morning". He kissed Azula. "I'll be back soon". Zuko ran as fast as he could to the front of the house. His mother wasn't there. "Mom is probably on the patio. She loves the patio. "Zuko was right about the patio. However, Ursa left to find Zuko just as he made it to the front of the house. Ursa was at his bedroom door by the time he made it to the patio."Knock, knock sleepy head," said Ursa as she opened the door. There was someone sleeping in Zuko's bed but it wasn't Zuko. Ursa froze. She didn't believe what she was seeing at first. Azula was mostly covered with a sheet, but Ursa knew her daughter was naked in her son's bed. "AAAAZula"Azula sat up clutching the sheet against her body. "Mom, I ""How could you?" Ursa stared in disbelief. "What's wrong with you? Seducing your brother, do you need attention that badly?"Ursa's accusation echoed in Azula's head. Azula's face twisted. "How could I? You think I'm here to seduce Zuko.""Azula, I know things have been hard for you, but this""YOU DON’T KNOW ANYTHING!"Zuko heard Azula. He ran to the room. The two women he cared most about in the world looked at him. His mother looked at him with pained eyes. His wife/sister looked as if she was going to set the world on fire. "Mom, Azula". Zuko move to a mutual zone between them. "We need to talk.""She's a think I tried to seduce you, Zuko.""You're naked in his bed. What am I supposed to think?""You think Zuko didn't want this. You always take his side. Even if he's the one in the wrong you blame me. You left us you don't even know what either of is capable of. Yet you accuse me. It was Zuko who tricked me into marrying him under the pretenses of opening the Arc of the Avatar. He told me I'd help him better the Fire Nation by opening the arc with him. Instead he deceived me into choosing the center yin yang symbol. Zuko knew it meant we'd be joined together and not in a brother sister way. He knew we'd be joined in a Hemethi Covenant. It was his plan not mine." Azula's eyes bore into Zuko. " Tell her Zuko. You were happy about the covenant because you got what you wanted, me. "Ursa and Zuko's walk was going to be the perfect time to tell her. This was all wrong. Zuko had to figure out way to appease both women. Azula and Ursa were upset because of him. He had to find the words to make this right. The words didn't come in time."Please tell me what Azula says isn't true."Zuko heard the pain in Ursa's voice. He saw the desperation in her eyes. What Azula said was partially true. Both women would be hurt by the full disclosure. "Opening the ark was for the betterment of the Fire Nation. I believe that. " Ursa was looking at Zuko for more of an explanation. Zuko cleared his throat. "That's why I suggested that yin yang symbol" Zuko quickly rub the back of his neck, "in the middle". It was a half-truth.Ursa covered her mouth and gasped. "You're lying. I know I have been gone for years, but I still can tell when you're lying, Zuko." When Azula and Zuko were small Ursa told them if they lied to her a mark would form on the back of their necks. Zuko got into the habit of touching the back of his neck when he lied to his mother. It didn't work with Azula."Mom, I swear, I didn't know about the Hemethi Covenant.""I believe you. Tell me everything Azula said was a lie."His eyes shifted away from Ursa. He held his head down. Zuko transformed into a six year old scolded under his mother's glare. "I can't. Some of it is true. " Zuko looked up at his mom with pleading eyes. "But I can explain.""There's nothing to explain. How many more lies have you told me Zuko? Everything has been web of lies so you could have your way with me.""No Azula, it's not like that.""GET OUT", her yell could be heard throughout the house, "leave me alone.""Azula, we to need to talk.""I said leave." Azula hurled a pillow at Zuko. "Both of you leave now, or next time it will be lightening. "Ursa and Zuko read the anger on Azula's face. They left the room. Zuko sat outside the bedroom door. Ursa could see her son was upset, but she didn't know what to do. Zuko had hurt her and Azula. The pain she saw impeded her from becoming angry with her older children. However, if consoling them meant condoning their actions she couldn't do it. She headed for the patio and waited for Ikem and Kiyi to return from town.Azula lay back down. Her threat of lightning was an empty one. She was still tired from last night's activities. "So, I was right about the yin yang choice. Zuko, you'll have to be punished." Her frown changed to a smile as she lay down.//////////Two hours later, Ursa saw Zuko sitting by the bedroom door. He hadn't moved from the same spot. Zuko was a grown man, but all Ursa could see was her hurt little boy. "He looks the same, as he did that day," she whispered. Ursa remember Zuko waiting outside Ozai's office. Zuko wanted to show his father a note one of his teachers had given him. The note praised Zuko for the work he did on a school project. Ozai wouldn't make time to see Zuko. Zuko waited outside Ozai's office for hours. Ursa sighed. "Azula you're a lot like your father. You're not coming out as long as Zuko is outside of your door." Ursa walked down the hall to Zuko’s bedroom. "Zuko lets go for that walk. Azula needs sometime and we need to talk."The only person Zuko wanted to walk and talk with was Azula. However, he needed to fix things with his mother. "Azula, I'm leaving, but I’ll be back soon," yelled Zuko through the door. Zuko turned to his mother. She had an expression he'd never seen on her. It was a mixture of sadness, disappointment, and confusion. At least she wasn't angry.Ursa and Zuko walked in silence for nearly 30 minutes. Neither knew what to say. Learning her children married each other was something unexpected. When Zuko and Azula were very young they were really close. They grew further apart each year. Ursa desired that they become that close again. She never expected them to take their relationship this far. "Zuko when did you and Azula" Ursa paused, "open the Arc of the Avatar"? She couldn't bring herself to say the word married."We opened it on Azula's birthday."You been, huh, together that long.""I was going to tell you about the Hemethi Covenant today.""So you two will be together for seven years. Why didn't you tell me sooner Zuko?""I was afraid of what you might think of me, that you'd think I was some type of big brother predator. I didn’t want you to think I took advantage of Azula.”"Zuko, I would never think of you that way. I know you have a good heart. You're a caring person. I just don't understand why you'd choose Azula to open the Arc. She is your sister. ""Azula was the only person I could open the arc with, she was chosen by the white pearl."Ursa knew he was telling the truth. It brought her a small measure of relief. It didn't erase the picture of her daughter naked in Zuko's bed. "Did this happen because I left?"Zuko saw tears forming in Ursa's eyes. "Mom" he took her by the hands, "this happen because of me, not you. I''m the one who," Zuko started to talk about his feelings for Azula, but feared his mother reaction. "I'm the one that insisted she open the arc. I am the one who convinced her to choose the yin yang symbol, which joined us in the Hemethi Covenant. Azula was furious when she learned about the covenant. Please don't blame her for any of this. The reason she's living with me at the palace is because she wants to be a good wife.""Azula wants to be a good wife to you." The statement left an awful taste in Ursa's mouth.
"Yes, she returned from Hearth Island after deciding she wanted to be a good wife." Zuko's face tensed. "That's when she was poison. We were supposed to have tea together", Zuko looked as if the wind got knocked of him, "not Azula and Uncle Iroh.""So you and Azula aren't required to live together as part of your covenant?" There was a glimmer of hope in her eye."Well, " Zuko couldn't lie to his mother, "no”, mumbled Zuko."Zuko, that means""Look it's Ikem". Zuko waved at Ikem. The middle aged man strolled over. He gave Ursa a quick kiss on the cheek. "I was wondering where you two were. Azula made a joke about you hiding under a rock.""You saw Azula. How is she? I mean was she crying or upset", Zuko grabbed Ikem by the shoulder, "where is she?""She’s with Kiyi""Where did they go, Ikem?"Ikem was a little worried by Ursa's tone. "She and Azula just left the house to go sailing with Dr. Po's sons.""What," asked Ursa and Zuko in unison?"Is something wrong?""We argued earlier today," said Zuko with a touch of sadness in his voice."Oh so that's why she said she wanted to get away from the house for awhile. No need to worry Boizer is a sailing champion and" he turned to Ursa, "you saw how well young Link and Kiyi got along last night. Plus, I think Boizer is more smitten with Azula than".Zuko started walking away."Zuko""Mom, I'm going to find Azula." Zuko ran in the direction of the harbor. He decided to cut through the jungle. It was a shortcut but the thick vegetation slowed him down. "I can't believe she went sailing with some doctor's son". Zuko sighed. "Yes, I can. She did it to get away from me. Ugh, she might convince him to sail her back to Hearth Island. For the first time in my life I wish she were with Miso. Damn." Zuko kicked a tree disturbing a nest of bumble jackets. Zuko ran as fast as he could. He left a trail of broken branches and plants behind him. The bumble jackets were relentless in their pursuit. "Can this day get any worse? Noooo," he screamed as he fell into a hole. There was a loud thud as Zuko hit the ground. Luckily the hole wasn't that deep. Zuko used his bending to shed some light on his situation. "This must be one of the tunnels used at the beginning of the 100 Year War. The walls are too slick to climb". The sound of running water caught Zuko's attention. He followed the sound until he reached an underground stream. The stream had to flow out of the tunnels at some point. Zuko followed the stream for over 30 minutes before seeing light from the outside. "Finally". Zuko sprinted toward the exit. The frustrated fire lord looked around. "Where am I?"Zuko started walking. Most residents avoided the jungle part of Ember Island. The territory was rough to walk through. It was the only part of the island that was still natural. The jungle of Amber Island was small. Eventually he'd find his way out. After about an hour of walking Zuko saw the Pi'Ku Lighthouse in the distance. "If the lighthouse is over there then my house is that way", he started walking. The frustrated fire lord continued until he made it to a clearing connected to a small lagoon. Zuko looked around. "It can't be, this area looks almost just like the beach Azula and I were on. The only thing missing is the shelter. I'll build it. I'll bring Azula here and explain everything."////////////////Zuko worked on recreating their beach paradise for the rest of the day. It gave him something to focus on besides Azula's date. Azula's date was going nothing like Zuko could have imagined. It was more babysitting than a real date. Kiyi had a great time while Azula was bored. Boizer did his best to impress her. The muscular young man was a great sailor. He'd sailed around the world before he was 17. The ship was spectacular. It had all the amenities of a home. Kiyi was impressed by Boizer's stories, the grandness of the ship, and Link’s sense of humor. Azula wasn't impressed, which enchanted Boizer. Her nonchalant attitude made Boizier try harder. Boizer and young Link were the perfect gentlemen as they walked Azula and Kiyi to the house. Boizer even started serenading Azula. Kiyi giggled at Boizer's attempts to impress Azula.
One person who was not giggling was Zuko. "I need to talk to you", said Zuko as he emerged from the shadows."Hey, buddy, I don't know who you think you are, but ", Boizer got in Zuko’s face, "you need to leave before I make you leave.""Move out of my way" Zuko bump Boizer's shoulder as he passed. "Let's go", Zuko took Azula's hand. She tried to pull her hand away. "Let go.""Azula""You heard her", Boizer punched Zuko as he turned.Zuko tumbled to the ground. His vision was a little blurry. Kiyi's voice was all he could hear over the ringing in his ears. The last thing he heard her say was she that she was going to get their mother. Zuko, tried to stand. He was surprised and happy to see Azula was helping him."He's your brother. Azula I didn't know.""Leave". Azula gave Boizer the coldest glare.Zuko turned and saw Boizer walking toward the beach house with his head down. Azula helped Zuko move to a large log. The woozy fire lord sat down. Azula sat next to him. They sat in silence while Zuko got his bearings."Azula, I am sorry", He reached out to touch her face. She moved away. "You being sorry is something I learned years ago. Tell me something I don't know "Zuko stood. "Come with me and I will tell you everything." He reached out his hand. She stared him. "Please". Azula took his hand. They walked in silence for 20 minutes through the jungle."Zuko, where are we going?""We're here. This is where I wanted to bring you.""You wanted to bring me to see where some homeless person lives." Azula frowned."No", he lit the lanterns outside the shelter as well as fire, "this is where everything changed."She recognized the place. The shelter Zuko built looked like it was going to fall apart. The lanterns were different. However, she knew he was trying to recreate that night in paradise. They’d had the same dream. His effort to bring it to life almost made her smile. "What changed?""Azula, I had a dream about you in a place almost exactly like this lagoon. When I awoke from it everything had changed. The way I saw you had changed because I could no longer suppress my desire for you. We almost made love in that dream. When I woke up I wanted to continue that dream. Thoughts of being with you were trickling into my real life. It worried me to the point where I didn't want to be around you because it was too hard. Then I learned you were the only one who could use Byakurai. The last thing I wanted to do was to bring you to the palace because I wanted to be with you as lover not as a brother. I was angry at myself,” He caressed her cheek as he stared into her eyes. "I took my anger out on you and am so sorry. I tried to push you away because I had issues.""If you wanted to push me away why did you trick me into marrying you?""I swear I did not know about the Hemethi Covenant." Zuko took a deep breath. He took her hands in his. "The yin yang symbol on the arc and the symbols around it were the same as the ones on the back of your shirt from the dream. I thought if ""You thought we'd have to have sex as part of the ritual to open the Arc of the Avatar." She snatched her hands way. Zuko reached for her but she moved away."I am not going to lie. I did think sex with you would be part of opening the arc. It was the only way I could have sex with you and it not be wrong. I never would have forced you to have sex even if meant not opening the arc. The ritual meant we'd have an excuse.""You mean you'd have an excuse. ""Yes, I'd have an excuse. That's why I was secretly glad about the covenant. I only volunteered to find a way to break the covenant so no one else would.""You were planning on hiding it from me, if you found a way to break it.""Yes", his voice cracked. His held hung low. "I'm sorry. " He looked up at her with sincere eyes. "I wanted us to stay together"."You certainly didn't act you wanted us to stay together.""It was front. I didn't want you to think I was some pervert brother. You already suspected me tricking you into marriage. Plus, I gave you a Earth Kingdom promise stone for your birthday.""The rock with the bug in it""It was a misunderstanding. When I talked to the guy about you. He assumed I was talking some I was interested in romantically. I didn't realize it until I read the detailed the description after it was delivered. It was too late to get you something else. I only told you part of the meaning.""A lot of things just seemed to happen in your favor. Hmm, too many coincidences.""It's not coincidence. Azula, it's destiny.""Destiny, that’s all you can come up with, Zuko.""I know it sounds strange but think of all that's happened. I have been trying to fight the way I feel about you for years. It worked for a while. Lately, everything has just fallen into place for us to be together. Think about it. Now that I have you I don't want to let you go. I'll tell you anything you want to know. I'll do anything to keep you. " Zuko dropped to his knees. "Marry me, Azula. I promise to be a good husband. We can have a real wedding after the Hemethi Covenant ends".The way he looked at her actually made her feel a little sorry for him. If she said “no” it would tear his heart out and she knew it. If she said “yes” she’d lose some control of the situation. "I'll think about it."His lips curved upward slightly. He kissed her hand. "Fair enough. I'll wait.""While you wait, you can answer some questions." She folded her arms. "Where did you go if you didn't go to the Earth Kingdom for a peace talk?"The question surprised him. He thought she'd be focused on the circumstances around the covenant. Tonight he was going to tell her the truth. "I went to Fire Fountain City with dad." He saw her raise an eyebrow. Her look told him he needed to go into more detail. His eyes shifted from her. "I couldn't find out who poisoned you so I went to him for help." He couldn’t read her reaction. "Dad had connections to a man Sōsuke. Sōsuke was the one to find Suigetsu. Before we left I asked Dad to have Sōsuke to search for the men who robbed Tousen's Mirage. My men couldn't find them." He placed his hands on her shoulders. Their eyes locked. "I'm sorry for not telling you and for not being able to do this on my own.""Zuko, you should've told me. I am better at these types of things then you. I have experience chasing down criminals." She smirked. “Remember how many times I found you.”It may have been a joke or maybe it was a poke. Zuko didn't care. It wasn't angry Azula. "You're right. I promise to keep you in the loop from now on.""You said you've been fighting your feelings for me for years. How long has it been?"Again, Azula's question through him off, he tugged at his shirt collar. "Since the night of the Agni Kai with dad. You came in after they dressed my eye. The first time wasn't sexual. We were too young for something like that. I just wanted to kiss you, hold you. I remember how nice you were. You told me about dad's plans. You helped Uncle Iroh and I get a ship. Then before I left the palace you surprised me with a hug and joked I'd never see you again because not even grandfather could find the avatar. ""Yes, and you said you'd regain your honor and come home." Azula believed Zuko. The first year she waited for him to come home. The palace was lonely without him. Ozai was especially hard on her after Zuko left. She had no free time. The former fire lord insisted she spent her free time either training or studying. He'd told her daily that she had to live up to Azulon's legacy. She had to work twice as hard to make up for Zuko's failures. Zuko was a failure but failure was not an option for her. She needed to be perfect. She resented Zuko because she had to make up for his failures. Ursa loved Zuko more despite him being a failure, which led to jealousy on Azula's part. Even now Ursa still favored Zuko, but it didn't bother Azula as much.Growing up Azula knew Zuko hated her for being perfect. It was surprising to hear that the brother that resented her perfection secretly had feelings for her so many years. They pushed aside their sibling rivalry for a marriage. A marriage Zuko was desperate to keep. She had the advantage and it was enough. Azula didn't want play a game of make Zuko beg or miserable. There was no need he was already willing to give her anything. She was in control of their relationship.Azula hadn't commented on Zuko's confession. She just looked at him. The princess was thinking about her next move. "You think I'm some big brother pervert", blurted out Zuko. Her response would impact their relationship. She saw the worry in his eyes. "I am just surprised that you had those kind of thoughts about me." The length of time was a surprise, but Azula had her suspicions about Zuko in the past. It was time to level up. She placed her hand on his knee. "I had a dream about you once.""You did"."Yes", she moved closer to him. "It was a few months ago. We were on an island. You were supposed to find firewood, but you came back empty handed. It was okay because I'd already started a fire. I remember you hugging me. You wanted me to be happy. You told me you wanted us to be happy. Then you kissed me." Azula knew Zuko was putting the pieces of the dream together. She moved her hand up to the middle of his thigh. "We moved to the shelter. Let's just say you made me very happy Zuko." Azula read Zuko's face he'd finally figured out they'd had the same dream. She'd just leveled up his destiny theory. "I woke up before we could make each other happy.""Azula, we had the same dream. The dream I was talking about earlier was just like the one you described. We had the dream to bring us together. You can't say that was a coincidence." He smiled. "Everything, I said in that dream was true. I want us to be happy." He kissed her softly. "Azula, let me make you happy." He kissed again. His tongue brushed against her lips. She opened her mouth letting him kiss her fully. He scooped her up in a princess carry without breaking the kiss. They moved closer to the shelter."Zuko, the shelter was a lot safer looking my dream." The cloth Zuko used to make a back wall fell."Don't worry, it works better as a sheet anyway." He gave her a quick kiss. "I won't let anything happen to you." He recaptured her lips as he lay her down. Their hand explored each other's body over their clothes."Zuzu, I want you to make me happy like you did in the dream."Zuko moved his kisses to her collarbone. Using one hand he freed one of her breast from her top. She gasped as he slid the other hand between her legs. His tongue teased her nipple. Zuko began caressing her other breast with his hand."Stop" she gasped. She pushed the top of his head."What? Why? Is something wrong? Are you okay?" The lust in his eyes was replaced with concern."I'm fine." Azula adjusted her top. "I don't think she is."Zuko turned and looked. Ursa was standing about 20 ft. away staring at them. Zuko's cheeks became flushed with embarrassment. He froze in place."Get off me, Zuko". Azula's word's brought him back to reality. He moved. He helped Azula up. Ursa didn't move or say anything."I think she's in shock, Zuko"."We have to do something." Zuko walked over to his mother and Azula followed."Mom"Ursa was pale. "Azula, Zuko, I had to get herbs. A bumble jacket stung Kiyi. I'm looking for a panther lily. Yes, no, a purple spring," said Ursa in an oddly sunshine filled voice. She moved forward several feet. The purple spring plants grew a few feet from Zuko and Azula's shelter. "I knew I'd find them here. We should go back to the house before it's too late," there was a hint of anger in her voice.Ursa didn't speak again until she entered the beach house with Zuko and Azula. Her expression changed when she saw Kiyi and Ikem. The color returned to her face. She ran over to her youngest daughter. "I’m going to make the salve. Everything will be okay." Ursa kissed her on the forehead.
"Do you need any help?""No" said Ursa in a snippy tone. "I mean it's fine. Ikem stay with Kiyi."Ikem noticed Ursa avoided looking at Zuko and Azula as she left the room. He looked at Azula then Zuko. Bruises were forming around Zuko's eye. The older man wanted to ask about what was going on between the three of them. There was more awkwardness and tension than usual. Kiyi was his priority whatever was going on would have to wait. He took his young daughter's hand. "Momma is going to make everything better".Ursa quickly returned with the salve. Again she avoided looking at Azula and Zuko who were standing off to the side of the room. The couple hadn't spoken since walking their mother to the house. "Is that better?""Yes, mamma""Good". Ikem and Ursa breathed a sigh of relief.Boizer and Link entered the room with their father, Dr. Po. Link and Dr. Po ran to Kiyi's side. Boizer and Zuko are locked in a stare down."I'm came as fast I as I could", said the short stout doctor. He kneeled down and took a look at Kiyi's arm. "You removed the stinger which is good. I recognized the salve you used by scent it will really help with swelling. Give her this medicine twice a day for two days and she'll be fine."Boizer and Zuko were less than 5ft from each other. They had slowly approached each other. The tension between the young men thickened as space between them decreased."Azula, now that we know your sister is OK I'd like to finish our talk on the beach", said Boizer without taking his eyes off Zuko."She's not going anywhere with you." Zuko took a step toward Boizer."You're not the boss of her. It's her choice " Boizer looked Azula."You're right" Azula walked over and stood between Boizer and Zuko, "I choose Zuko.""What? Why? You're going to let your brother control your life.""He doesn’t control me. You were never any competition for him. He is my husband.""Wait, I thought he was your brother.""He is. We're really close.""YOU MARRIED YOUR BROTHER!"Ursa gasped. Ikem and Link stared at Zuko and Azula with their mouths open. Boizer and Dr. Po's face twisted. They also added grunting sounds."Yuck, that's disgusting. I can't believe I was interested in you, you weirdo.""That's it" Zuko stopped moving after Azula placed her arm across his stomach."Don't, he's clueless, and doesn't know who we are. There's been enough drama tonight.""I don't understand', cried out Kiyi."Baby”, Ikem took his daughter’s hand."Azula" the little girl turned to her sister, "you and Zuko are married.""Yes" Azula could read the confusion on Kiyi face. She sighed as she moved closer to the girl. "Do you know the story of Princess Hina and Fire Lord Ji?" Azula saw Kiyi shake her head indicating "yes". "Good Zuko and I are like Princess Hina and Fire Lord Ji. He's the fire lord and I am'"You're Princess Azula", added Dr. Po. He saw Azula frown. "Forgive me for interrupting Princess Azula. Forgive my son Fire Lord Zuko. We didn't." He bowed. "Apologize Boizer.""Sorry." Boizer bowed and mumbled something."We're leaving", said the doctor as he snaked away. "Good night, let me know if you need anything else". He grabbed his eldest son's sleeve and pulled Boizer out the door."Good night, I hope you feel better, Kiyi". Link waved good-bye.Kiyi broke the silence. "I get it now, Azula. You and Zuko have a bond that can't be described in words. That's what Princess Hina and Fire Lord Ji kept saying throughout the story.""You're right Kiyi," Zuko pulled Azula close to him. "We have a bond that can't be described by words", said Zuko as he looked at Azula."Wow, so Zuko you'd fight 1000 soldiers and your father to protect Azula, like Fire Lord Ji?""Yes," he held her a little tighter as he glanced over to his mother, "in a heartbeat"."Oh, that's so sweet. Azula would you marry a hairy, ugly, smelly man to free Zuko from prison, like Princess Hina?"Azula raised an eyebrow. "No."Kiyi gasped. Ikem and Ursa stared at the young couple.Zuko let her go. "You wouldn't". Everyone heard the disappointment in his voice.Azula placed her hand on his scarred face. "Don't worry, Zuzu, I'd rescue you."Everyone and everything else disappeared as Zuko stared at Azula. A small smile formed on his face. Her words were sincere. Zuko believed Azula would rescue him. She would be there for him. It didn't matter what anyone thought or said about them. Even Ursa couldn't come between them because he loved her. He wasn't sure if she loved him back or if she was capable of loving him as he did her. He knew she cared enough to save him, which was enough for now. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
