Chapter 1: Last Day
Note: ok my friends! Here's the next story for y'all and you're wondering why I'm making another Overlord/Rwby Crossover, well my friends. The first story 'Blood Moon' just wasn't what I was writing for so I decided to delete that and remake it again.
Ok, this story was made between me and my beautiful co author @unlimitedblades and beta read by my boy @ZergPsycho.
I hope you guys enjoy this story better than my previous attempt.
If anyone has ideas for story arcs then don't hesitate to submit them to me because I'm actually curious on what you dood have in mind.
Another question, and it's about Remnant, I'll be using an inter dimensional gate used from the anime 'GATE' to connect the new world with Remnant but I want you guys to think when this should happen.
Romance, if anyone has any romance either depending the Female OCs or the Females(Or male) from the new world then don't hesitate, oh and give some ideas for romance with Ruby and Velvet, also Ruby is a lesbian in this story.
Ok now then, with all that done! Let's move forward!
——
12 Years had passed since the online sensation of Yggdrasil: Crashing Dawn had first appeared in the commercial markets of Japan in the year of 2126AD and since then many memories had been maid, friendships created or rekindled, and many known records made and broken throughout the games past decade existence.
In the game, there were 9 Realms implemented in it; Niflheim, Muspelheim, Asgard, Midgard, Jotunheim, Vanaheim, Alfheim, Svartalfheim and Lastly Helheim.
Each with their own unique environment, scores of bosses, mini bosses and pop monsters, numerous dungeons to be claimed for guilds.
Throughout the game's existence many people congregated with each other to form guilds which allowed them to stockpile military and political strength in the current realm they are based in.
These guilds allowed many players to feel a sense of community that many would feel more willing to form bonds and partnerships with other players.
The more eager guilds increased their powers due to increasing their members personal power, acquiring and hoarding powerful magical items/gold and gaining world items.
Due to these methods, each of the nine realms has an individual leaderboard of guilds collected power. These leaderboards are separate from the national leaderboard that includes all worlds together.
Between the realm leaderboard and the national leaderboard is not the same because a top guild in one realm would be smaller than other guilds while another guild in a different realm could enter the top ten of the national list with the top guild of the same realm.
Niflheim's Top Guild is called 'The Frost Walkers' which is a guild widely known as a primary ice users guild with no exact restrictions on race but they must have an ice centered power base, be it race, items or magic.
Muspelheim's Top Guild is called 'Admiral Akbar's Trap Masters', it was named that because 80% of the guild and its guild master are primary thief players and known to be occasionally hired to steal from other guilds or top players.
Asgard's Top Guild is called 'Heroes of Valhalla' ironic due to the realm they are based in, The Heroes of Valhalla is a hero restricted guild of only warriors, any warrior class is accepted, any human is accepted so long as they don't have any non warrior job class. They are referred to as that because they are the top warrior guild in the whole game due to their immense physical attack.
Midgard's Top Guild is ironically 'The Republic of Midgard', the guild while still following a normal guild hierarchy, it's one of the 20% of all known guilds to have a democratic approach made up of its membership. And it's also known to have the strongest, near impervious guild base in the nine realms. It's motto is known as 'Self-Enhancement' which includes both members and the guild itself as many members spent thousands of dollars increasing the guilds defensive capabilities.
Jotunheim's Top Guild is called 'Tomes of Akasha', The Tomes of Akasha are a restricted guild like most, this guild is a Mages only guild and no other players with different classes were allowed to join, The Tomes of Akasha however had no restrictions on races which made recruitment fairly easy.
Vanaheim's top guild 'Atlas Punishment' is also the guild with the highest membership of all guilds especially since the game has no limit on guild membership, the guilds skyrocketed membership was due to literally no restrictions of entering with only loyalty that is asked from all its members. Because of this, it's membership reached a mind boggling 131 members.
Alfheim's top guild called 'We Float Here' was a guild that only accepts the fairy based racial classes, like fairies themselves and pixies, due to this. We Float Here has the lowest membership since it's founding 6 years after the games launch. It has maintained membership of 20-30 members throughout the remainder of the game's life.
Svartalfheim's Top Guild 'Diggy Diggy Hole' is quite strangely not a combat based guild from either Magic or Physical but instead is a mining and crafting guild. 75% of its guild is primarily crafters with the remaining of its membership was players with combat classes strong enough to protect the crafters whenever they are out on a quest or to claim materials.
Finally, Helheim's top guild is 'Ainz Ooal Gown', it is a heteromorphic guild that seems to have a specific hatred against humanoid players. While many of its players are incredibly diverse in skill sets, classes much like one of its players are a known world champion and item usage, they also utilize outstanding strategies and tactics to turn the tide of battle along with information gathering on specific enemies. 'Ainz Ooal Gown' is Helheims top guild indeed even if they don't rank high on the top ten in the national list.
These top guilds and many other guilds of the game had been formed for a specific purpose, some guilds like 'Heroes of Valhalla' specialize in combat and guild wars or 'Atlas Punishment' Known for Dungeon Raids.
Every guild as a purpose for its existence, be it to fight like Barbarians or to craft mythical items.
Some however choose to remain with their creations till the last second, such as the four original members of the Republic of Midgard.
-Location: Midgard, Vornfold, Seventh Floor; Forsaken Expanded Ocean, Pirates Port Town, Pirate Used Pub-
It was almost time for the remaining members of the Republic of Midgard, Almost time for the server that they spent a lot of time playing on, forming memories and near non shattering bonds that would last the remainder of their lives.
Because of that, Four members of the guild had agreed to remain till the very end, to the very last second before they all got forcibly removed via server ending.
Not that the other 46 Members could stay with them, some of them did come by to mingle and reminisce about the good times that they all had in the game along with the numerous arguments which got many to chuckle.
However they couldn't remain as they had their own lives to live which the guild leader, the player known as Jaune Arc or by his gamer tag 'Freedom Fighter' decided it would've been too selfish of him to ask anymore so he felt that all he and his three closest mates can do now is to remain until the end.
Inside of an old and creepy looking town pub, among numerous people, unmoving since they were living people but npcs created to be bar patrons.
*Gulp*
*Gulp*
*Gulp*
"Waaaaah! *Pant* Why are all men such douchebags!? Why can't one of them be a courtly gentleman that doesn't try to grope me at the first chance!? I almost got arrested today because the stupid guy at work!" A female player complained as she slammed a wooden mug of light brownish liquid.
The Female was a long brown haired woman with a pair of bunny ears on top of her head.
Her facial looks was unmoving though that's due to the fact that the game 'Yggdrasil' didn't allow facial movement since technology hasn't advanced that far yet and this also extends to heavily dulled senses and the removal of the sense of taste.
The shitty devs, as the developers were named for their sadistic tendencies and jokes, didn't want people to favor virtual reality instead of their own.
The Bunny Girl was wearing a blue militant-like outfit with a jacket and a white undershirt; she also has blue pants with black boots.
All in all, The Bunny looked like a military woman.
"Can't you agree with me!? You aren't a douchebag!" She yelled as she hunched over the table putting the girl's non-existent weight on the wooden table though an angry emoji popped up next to her form.
"Well Lass, you can't really compare scores of other men just due to the acts of one. I like to see myself as a chevalier or otherwise my mama would rise from the grave and give me a once in a lifetime ass whooping. She may have encouraged my mouth but she always said to treat women with the utmost respect or I will get the sandal" The male had spoken up after a half an hour of hearing through his friends complaints at her work.
The man was a long purple haired human-like person, his hair aside from the bangs that reached down to his chin, the main bulk of the hair was tied into a bun.
His outfit consisted of a white muscle top exposing a buff muscular form yet still lean enough and a black looking pants that was created to be giving passive magical effects.
"I know that Brian! But why can't all men be like you!?" The Bunny exclaimed with an exaggerated emoji popping next to her.
Brain as the lighter skinned man was named, seemed to chuckle at his friend with a laughing emoji "I can promise you Velvet, you don't want every men to be a proud drunk Irishman born in Florida"
Velvet who seemed to stay on the table motionless then gave off a croaking chuckle "Heh...thanks for cheering me up Bri, so what do you plan to do when Yggdrasil is shut down?" She asked curiously about the man's post game plans.
Brian shrugs his shoulders while raising his own wooden mug of light brown liquid to put it inside his own non motionless face with exaggerated gulping sounds as to mimic the act of drinking the beer then putting down the mug "I don't know, maybe I'll put more time on my bar. I've only closed it for today because of this. What about you?"
The Bunny Girl shrugged her shoulders "I actually don't know, I stopped traveling so I could have a steady place to play the game and since I've met all of you, maybe we could keep in contact?"
0:05.
0:04.
0:03.
"I'd like that lass" The Purple Haired Man said with a smiley emoji appearing as he was happy to have a new friend he could keep in contact with.
"That's good! I know you and Jaune have each other's phone numbers, just ask jaune for mine and Ruby's ok?" The Bunny exclaimed with another happy face appearing next to her.
Brian nodded before leaning backwards with his eyes closed looking ready for the server to go down while velvet had a digital screen open that she was using to look through her inventory.
0:02.
0:01.
0:00.
And like that, the server was shut down.
Or it should've been.
Brian opened his eyes again and actually felt his lids opened, it was a bright red flag immediately which he then reached up towards his own face then touching its flesh, real feeling was registered.
The Purple Haired Man shouldn't be able to feel as the sense of touch was heavily downgraded in a sense of wearing winter gloves but now the gloves were off and he could feel his own skin like it was real.
Shock and Fear began to set in as well as panic so Brian looked up to find Velvet looking frustrated, physically frustrated as she was mutter complaining that her digital screen had suddenly disappeared which soon muttering devolved into a string of colorful language that even Brian, being a known vulgar language user, seemed to blush in embarrassment.
"Hey Vel...doesn't this seem odd?" The Drunk asked as he poured down some of the brownish liquid and almost had the desire to cough it up as the beer tasted like some of the best beer he could, yet taste didn't exist in Yggdrasil since that would've caused many to forsake their own reality.
Velvet raised an eyebrow only to grab the wooden mug until letting it go and almost fell off her chair at the sudden sensation "What the fuck?! What did that feel real!?" She yelled at her close friend who brought his own mug down to the table before raising his open left hand to tap his lips with the left index, Brian also shrugged his head slightly to his right prompting the bunny girl to move her eyes towards another section of the pub.
It took the young demi human engineer years of trained patience to not scream when she finds a table of human and fish demi human pirates having a good time talking about things even with her now enhanced hearing via new ears, Vel was also internally freaking out that she had gotten her former life's ears again and the function far superior than her original ears, they were talking about things that obviously didn't exist nor were they implemented into their created backstories.
"Brian? What is happening?" The Bunny Crafter exclaimed through gritted teeth while trying not to draw any attention from the pub of alive pirate npcs with little to no moral code.
The Purple Haired Guildmember only shrugged his shoulders, downing the remaining liquid "I don't know lass, but aren't you the creator of the gaming chair?" Brian asked curiously if the chair was the problem for their current situation.
"Of course I am! Even if our current situation could have been the result of an unforeseen glitch in my chair's digital matrix. The chances are that both of our chairs glitching is astronomical at best! If this also happens to Jaune and Ruby, the chances for that is the same chance as getting hit by a double asteroid. It just doesn't exist! Also assume that my handiwork is the cause for this and I'll drive my hammer into the back of your skull" Velvet informed her close friend on the chances of their predicament while attaching a threat to his safety and health.
Brian snorted at the threat and before he could retort to that, one of the bar patrons got slammed into their table, breaking it which the faith caster took note of before Velvet screamed at the suddenness to which said patron got up from their ruined table and charged back at his table prompting the whole place of pirates and scum to brawl out in a bar fight.
The Bunny Girl looked around seeing her creations becoming lifelike and managed to start a fight, She got up from her chair and charged at a nearby table joining the fight as if trying to prove something to her mental self.
Brian watched as Velvet slammed a wooden chair into the pack of a robed Demihuman shark pirate, The Magic Caster seemed to snort and chuckle just as he got up and left the building.
The Purple Man enters the relatively empty street of the pirate controlled along with the sky being pitch black with numerous 'stars' in the distance, The Irishman at that moment had almost thought that he was staring up at the genuine night sky until remembering that it wasn't real and was a fabrication that some of his guild mates managed to complete.
'Hm, this feels all too real...the NPCs are life-like, as if they were actual living creatures, the beer tasted like beer, the roads look extremely realistic...is this really the result of the gaming chair glitch or did the servers gone through with the shut down and we are stuck in Yggdrasil?...well first. I need to contact Jaune since I know he followed through with the whole 'Captain goes down with his ship' idea, so he would probably be in the throne room right now...' Brian starts thinking for a few minutes before his thoughts land on something else entirely.
How was the Faith Based Magic Caster supposed to access his in-game inventory along with the fact, Does Magic still exist? The purple magic caster seemed to hum to himself trying to figure out the answers to these questions.
So Brian does what he can to call on the digital screen, another thing he did was trying to utilize a GM call which didn't happen and the man somehow made himself look like an idiot to a group of passing human sailors who simply laughed at him while said mage just glared at them.
Lastly, he attempted to utilize the item box method which was a portal to get and store items much like the digital screen could though the screen was more efficient in looking for items.
Brian stuck his hand through an opened purple gate and pulled out a small metallic item called the 'Republic Personal Com Link' it was an item used to connect one to another from elsewhere in the base of the republic of midgard, the personal com link was the long range model that can reach to even the outside of the guild via com link array that's located on the sixth floor.
As opposed to the 'Republic Unit Com Link' which is the short range model but allowed up to 10 people to connect to it for quick issued orders.
These two models were one of the few items in the whole game that managed to expand and utilize a concept of non magical messaging which can be quite a problem for many who aren't Mages or have access to magical scrolls.
'Ok then, the item box still functions like it is supposed to, meaning Yggdrasil abilities are still usable. Does that include item abilities, magic, class and racial skills? Well I guess I have some experimenting later. But first, I need to inform Jaune of what's happening and he will find a way to either figure out what is happening or find a way home,' Brian thought to himself.
The Faith Caster pressed a few buttons then the big call one which a few beeps later, someone answered and sounded they just came up from a nap "*Yawn* Yeah?..." The Voice was fairly youthful which sounded wrong since the caller, who was the guild master Jaune, was an 80 Year Old Man in the real world.
"Jaune, something has happened and it affects the four of us" The Mage exclaimed though figuring he should probably expand on that "I know what I'm going to say sounds crazy but it's true. Jaune, did you feel anything odd about yourself after the scheduled time that the servers were meant too"
"Hm? Well now that you mention it. I don't feel as bad as I usually do after taking a nap. But shouldn't we have been force logged out since the servers shut down or were they pushed back?" Jaune said though still sounding tired but showed he was serious about their current situation.
Brian didn't know what to call their situation, a glitch to the chair or a problem with the game itself "I don't know lad, but what i do know is that we are perhaps trapped here" when the Magic Caster said that, it managed to fully awaken the guild leader and spoken with full seriousness.
"We are? You do know what you're saying right?" Jaune asked.
"Yeah, the evidence that supports this theory is that all digital aspects of the game have suddenly stopped, another piece of evidence is based on us. We can feel like normal people which the game itself gave us touch through winter gloves but that's not the weird thing, the weird thing is that I have the sense of taste again, I drank a mug of beer and it tasted like some of the best beer I've had which doesn't make sense.
"And another thing is that the npcs at the bar that me and Vel were in had all suddenly come to life, again. This doesn't make sense that computer generated NPCs managed to gain sentience" The Faith Caster fully explained his situation to the guild master, Jaune remained silent for the time until a sound of groaning was heard.
"Alright Alright, meet me and Ruby at the sixth floor in the meeting room, third layer, then we can fully discuss what we plan to do and if there's a way back home and if not meh. Imagine how many people my age would kill for a chance to regress in age. Anyway, Jaune Out" Jaune ended the call on the Com Link.
Brian sighed in relief that this situation would be properly dealt with when the remaining four members were working together, he turned around to poke his purple head back into the bar to find his close friend standing on top of everybody in the joint while she herself had blood dripping down her face.
Velvet was a Lv100 Crafter and yet she still managed to take down a bar full of Lv5-10 Pirate Patrons, The Angel Man almost howled in laughter that a bunch of grown men got their asses beat by an adorable bunny girl who is more used to wielding a hammer then a dagger.
"Vel! I just called Jaune, we are meeting on the sixth floor to fully discuss what we are going to do" Bri called out to the Bunny who looked over and nodded prompting her to jump off the meat pile and skipped over almost as if she had gotten her anger out of her system.
"Awesome!" She exclaimed prompting both of them to flash a brilliant blue and disappearing due to the use of the item called 'Ring of the Republic'
The Ring of the Republic was considered a divine rarity item that the bunny made for all fifty members of the guild, the ring itself was a golden ring with a beautiful red ruby gem so it's considered the badge of the guild and symbolizes their membership.
The ring's base use was unrestricted teleportation within the base of Vornfold within marker placements known as teleportation points, these points allow favorable teleport spots in the guild and effective movement within the nine floored base.
Another ability that the ring has is that it acts as a distress beacon that lights up the wearer's position to allies and other guild members.
-Location: Unknown, Vornfold, Sixth Floor, City of Midgard; Downpour of Powerlessness-
The Purple Haired Drunk and a Bunny Girl had teleported inside the hanger bay which was a location most wouldn't care to remain in the room since the only objects were the games first non magical aerial machines known as LAATs which allows magicless flight and able to carry up to 12 Soldiers at once for easy entry onto the battlefield before quick lift off.
Unfortunately however even with 20 Known Aerial Vehicles created in Yggdrasil, the guild has never needed to utilize these ships especially since they were created two years before the servers went down.
Both of them leave the room and go down the metal hallway of the massive metallic city though they remain quiet as the anxiety of the whole situation to which they had quite literally gotten trapped from the real world and it's certainly weighing on their mind.
The two walk past a troop of 8 Pure White Armored Soldiers which the leading on that has a black lined helmet spoke up "Sirs" then went on with their usual programming or their current patrol.
Brian just nodded his head as he was unsure of how to respond to a living soldier, same with Vel especially her anxiety was visibly known since her ears flopping down, not effort to keep them up.
Brian spoke up suddenly that prompted the young girl to slightly raise her left animal ear as if to hear better, even if her ears still have good hearing even flopped downwards.
"Vel, don't worry. Jaune is the smartest out of all of us. If any of us could figure out this situation then it'd be him" He said trying to reassure her, which didn't really help as her ears dropped down even more along with an accompanying glare.
"And if he can't?" She said, almost daring him to say that they would be trapped in the hell of their own making.
Bri simply shrugged to his close friend unsure of what to say only to laugh as the girl punched him in his right arm, prompting the human angel to rub it soothingly.
The two continued onto their journey and going towards the third layer, floors on a specific floor had been renamed layers so as to not dispense confusion.
The three entered the third layer then walked towards a specific room in which two figures were standing beside the door on each side.
Their armor was pure white much like the soldiers the two members had come across but they were more defined, more metallic, more armored really while their helmets, obviously white except for the visor over their eyes, had a blue tint to it exposing that they were in use since they were worn.
The two had defined black pistols attached to their armored suits belt which meant for security, their hands behind their backs as they usually do to look more professional.
These two soldiers are Lv80 Human Clone Commando NPCs, two of 20 made Clone Commandos, one of three personalized projects that the Guilds Second in Command had undertaken throughout the guilds 10 year existence. The Clone Commando Idea had been a resounding success.
A Single Commando could overpower a squad of three players, how one could manipulate an NPC that can do such a feat alone especially when they aren't LV100 nor a floor guardian, only Ruby Rose aka Deadeye could give such an answer.
Brian and Velvet approached the door, both soldiers undertaking a right hand salute as if greeting a high ranking officer "Generals, welcome. General Arc and General Ruby are waiting inside for you" The Commando on the Right exclaimed as the bunny nodded and swiftly entered the room where the door slid open automatically.
Brian remained silent for a time then asked both of the clone soldiers their names as a sort of final confirmation to see if they truly are alive as well as remembering that Ruby Rose didn't particularly give any of the clones, aside from the Floor Guardian, a name.
"Troopers, before I move on. I need to know what your names are" The Magic Caster asked or in the soldiers ears, ordered.
"CT-2727 or Beta Sir, This is Delta or CT-4333" The one named Beta has introduced himself as well done the same to the clone in the left now named Delta, Delta gave a nod of confirmation.
Brian mentally gasped as these NPCs who had no name had just given names that didn't exist, Beta and Delta were both names specifically taken from the Greek alphabet though why that instead of any other normal name? Maybe to follow the theme of the floor guardian 'Alpha' which was the start for the Greek alphabet.
"I see...Thank you Commando Beta, knock on the door if anything important has happened if not then don't bother interfering" Brian ordered with authority hoping to lock down some time to properly freak out with the remaining members of the guild.
Beta nodded at him before assuming his original position allowing The Faith Caster to enter the room.
The meeting room was incredibly basic compared to other floors, a large white table and a white lit room with a window showing off the heavy thunderstorm on the outside.
Velvet was located at the other end of the table silently staring at the guild master himself while her bunny ears returned to their former height.
The Third Figure of the room was a red cloaked woman, her red full body cloaked covering her whole body even when she's sitting down, the woman's cloak's hood is down showing off her head.
She had long flowing black hair with streaks of ruby red along with her eyes being a beautiful and radiant silver that also exuded authority and power.
"Ruby, where were you when the server had shut down?" Brian asked the cloaked woman who's now known as Ruby Rose aka Deadeye, Ruby looked over and gave a tired but kind smile as she usually does so for many.
"I was in the vault looking at the World Items when Jaune contacted me via com link and told me the exact problem of our predicament so what do we do? We can't remain here." Ruby explained her situation then asked for a solution which she turned her head to the fourth and final figure.
The Final Figure in the room was the guild master of the Republic of Midgard and often known as the Master Scout for the guild as he is always seen first before anyone from his guild arrives at any known location. Jaune Arc aka Freedom Fighter, a gamer tag inspired by his American blood.
The final figure has a dark grey metallic chest plate while the shirt underneath was a basic white t-shirt, the pants that no one could see was a specially crafted dark green combat pants that's tucked into combat boots that is worn by military soldiers.
The Man has a purple gripped katana located on his lap since the man was sitting and had to take it off of his belt, the other weapon he had was a red bo shortened bo staff that was located in a staff sheath on his back with the handle of one of its ends was shown behind his left shoulder.
The Guild Master had a mop of combed blonde hair which is the only identifying aspect of the man as his facial features were hidden behind a mask, the mask was called 'The Mask of Envy'
The Mask of Envy was an artifact item with literally no stats given by the people often referred to as the people who developed Yggdrasil, as the shitty developers or shitty devs or Jaune's personal favorite The Sadists.
The mask of envies looks mysterious to any who gazes upon it, it's design is similar to a barong mask with a red bass color, it's teeth looked sharp and mouth retracted to keep the 'teeth' exposed and two blue gem colored eye holes for the wearer to see.
Jaune remained silent for the time though waking up to the slight slurred voice of his friend didn't really do much to sooth his growing anger for being woken up, so upon hearing the theory that they were stuck in their own personal hell prompting the old crime investigator to begin thinking on an accelerated level until he theorized that what was happening, with the effect of turning their avatars real and their NPCs living, Jaune feared that death would soon come for them.
"Everyone" Jaune called out from behind his barong mask catching everyone's attention "This is a Phase 1 Directive, Ruby. Go to the vault and bring me all the world items we have." Jaune has ordered, causing the other room inhabitants to widen their eyes at the sudden declaration.
Jaune and the four original members, Brian, Velvet and Ruby had formulated Four Phase Directives, modeled after the American Government's use of the DEFCON emergency defense program.
Phase 4 Directive was the weakest as it pertains to terrorist events but such things aren't overlooked for the safety of the guild.
Phase 3 Directive is used to deal with guild security of both informative and physical fields, if either is breached then an investigation is underway to determine the cause.
Phase 2 Directive is primarily used during guild wars and causes many in the guild to situate themselves before fighting against another guild.
And finally Phase 1 Directive, something Jaune has never called on since the creation of the defense programs. Phase 1 is known as the worst case scenario; the absolute destruction of the Republic of Midgard.
Phase 1 is used to fully access every guild member's status, job class, race, items and so forth. The guild is on full lockdown that only the guild master and approved members were allowed to leave on a very shortened time frame lastly 10 of the most experienced members were to carry a world item in preparation of the worst case scenario.
Ruby nodded as she got up and disappeared in a flash of brilliant blue heading towards the ninth floor leaving Jaune with the other two members.
Velvet looked extremely worried at the fact that Phase 1 has been called into effect.
Brian looked concerned but also got serious so when he took out a bottle of beer from his in-game inventory but hasn't opened it nor drank any which certainly details just the severity of the situation "Jaune, are you sure Phase 1 Directive should be applied? Firstly, While we may have turned real and our creations had gained unknown sentience, we don't know if whatever is happening is a direct danger to the guild and or our lives."
Jaune would nod at this train of thought but gave his own reasoning "True but while you and Velvet were getting here, I did what I could to try and get out of the game, however nothing has worked so I believe that not only are we trapped here. We don't have a way to return after death so we are capable of dying which means we need insurance which is way I'm enacting Phase 1 Directive"
Brian nodded at his friend before beginning to think about the world items that will soon be given to the four of them.
World Items were known to be the strongest items in the entirety of the Yggdrasil Game, each one capable of shattering the games balance and anyone who managed to get their hands on one through whatever means gained them a spot on Yggdrasils official website.
The Republic of Midgard, their guild, got ten of these eyes throughout their guilds existence which is good but 4 other guilds had significantly more than them.
The Purple Caster continued to think until he landed on the detail that Jaune asked Ruby to bring them all, however the directive called for 10 Members and only four of them remained.
The Faith Caster spoke up catching the masked man's attention "Jaune, I remembered that the directive calls for ten members but there's four of us. What do you plan to do with the remaining six?"
Jaune gave his answer after a moment of thinking "Well, I've been thinking about the NPCs. I asked Beta some questions and aside from the name that Ruby never gave him. A lot of his memories and backstory correlates with the written backstory. So I asked for the name of science, might I add, would he give his life to defend the republic" Jaune explained his thought process and some of his previous actions pertaining to the NPC Beta.
"Then what happened?" The Angel Player asked inching closer to the grey armored swordsman, Vel also leaned in curious on the experiment.
"The crazy bastard took out his pistol and angled it onto his helmet claiming he'd kill himself right then and there if I so asked him too. I almost jumped at the soldier to grab the pistol" Jaune finished the story causing both the Angel and the Bunny to flinch at such a thing, someone so fanatical that they would kill themselves because one of them asked.
"So another question I asked is what he thought of me and the other leaders of the guild. He said that he viewed us as Gods, Gods who brought them to live, Gods unsurpassed in any field we undertake. And before he could say more, I ordered him and Delta to remain outside the door for you guys" Jaune said before shivering from that conversation as he typically didn't like being compared to gods nor seen like one however the masked fighter figured out very quickly that Beta and Delta's way of thinking could very well expand to every created NPC and Pop Creature in the whole guild.
"That's...disturbing...don't they know that we are just ordinary people like them?" The Bunny Engineer added her thoughts to the change of topic, Jaune shrugged his shoulders unknown.
"Not sure but I wanted to get away from that line of thinking as fast as I could. even if we did say that we weren't any different then them, they would naturally say we are being too humble. Trust me, during my job I've met quite a few cultists who thought precisely like that.
"However, back to your original question. I'll be giving the remaining five to guardians that best fit their abilities. All in One and Kalavera's Guild however will remain in the vault due to its supplementary abilities having no place in combat or crafting." Jaune finished his explanation and answered his friend's question on the world items.
Brian nodded at this as it was a good idea on guild defense, if someone did attack then the guardians had a secondary line of defense to fall on.
The steel door slides open revealing a red cloaked girl with two hands on the metal cart holding a variety of items, through the peak of inside the silver eyed girls cloak was a black and white version of the battle oriented JSDF Uniform, a pure white militant uniform, black fingerless gloves and black bulletproof vest.
It was Ruby's way of saying that her job as a soldier wasn't done even when she had retired from the military.
"Thanks Rubes, alright. I'll be assigning everyone a specific item that will be best used to compliment them. Is that acceptable?" Jaune asked which the three of them nodded at the idea.
Jaune began to distribute four of the ten world items that had been rolled into the room, Ruby remained by the cart as the opening of her cloak closed, hiding her outfit once again "Good, Brian. You're the guild's strongest Divine Caster and your racial class of Angel is at its highest peak so it's common sense to give you 'Mjubberichs Lightning Bottle' which is a magic use item."
Ruby grabbed what looked like a normal empty clear glass bottle with a cork then walked over to place the bottle in front of the purple magic caster.
Brian grabs the bottle and examines it by circling it around looking to see if there was anything special about this world item "Sorry Boss, but when was this acquired."
The Blonde Swordsmen looked up slightly while his grey gloved index finger and thumb touched his chin as if to think about his answer "Hmmm, if I remember correctly Akihito took a bunch of our friends on some magical quest in Niflheim and they came back with the bottle which they said it was a world item. She told me it was a item best used by a mage based on its flavor text"
"Well? What does it do?" The Angel Player asked curiously.
"I think she told me, that the bottle is used to store spells, you can store 1 spell per day which in theory the bottle can store an unlimited amount of spells. You can also stack spells for doubled damage such as double Lightning spells can double its power but using both spells.
"You can also mix spells for different effects depending on the spells used, those spells can also be modified utilizing alchemical components. That is the full strength of the Lightning Bottle and why only a mage could effectively utilize it" Jaune has fully explained the full ability of the Lightning Bottle World Item.
Brian whistled as he opened the bottle by taking off the cork and whispered underneath his breath and a bright blue translucent light then putting the cork back on it "Woah, it works. I just spoke a weak holy spell" The Angel exclaimed with a slight chuckle while silently worried that if he did try to seal in a spell then the bottle would break and so would his right hand.
The Bunny Girl stared in awe at the glowing translucent light that was emanating from the bottle "Woooow! That's so cool! Could you call on the spell you put in?" "Naturally, except the MP Cost wouldn't exist since I spent the cost itself on putting the spell inside the bottle. Hey boss, did Akihito say there were any restrictions on the item?" The Faith Caster informed then turned his head towards the guild master.
"Hmmm, well except that it can only store spells and therefore are still recognized as spells. Other than that. You'd be fine" Jaune said
The Angel nodded at this then looked back down at the glass bottle then putting it inside a black spiral portal that was connected to the purple haired casters item box.
"Now then, Velvet. With you in mind there's only one item that can be of use to you. The item 'Creation of Origin', I personally claimed this item several years ago. Do you guys remember that I was indisposed for seven months?" Jaune titled the item then asked a question from his time.
The three other members of the room all nodded as it was weird at the time that their guildmaster was gone for seven consecutive months "Well, this item is the result of a world quest that took 7 full months to complete. And so much money I spent on one use items to help mitigate the danger level and the constant attack from heteromorphic players. I was half tempted to just give up the quest and let someone else deal with it but Jaune Arc doesn't give up halfway. And I got that world item as a quest reward. Along with a gag item in the form of a t- shirt."
Velvet looked to her left when ruby came up and gently placed a small cube in front of the bunny crafter, the cube itself was sleek silver with no other identifying characteristics.
"The Creation of Origin is a supplementary item which allows the user to craft any item of divine rarity, pseudo guild weapons and even fake world items without the need of data crystals or materials. However Divine Rarity Items have an hour to cool down, Guild Weapons are a full year and a fake world item is obviously ten years. I believed it would be best to have the guild's master crafter have that one" Jaune explained what the silver cube was meant to do.
"How did you-" Velvet said only to be interrupted by the blonde man "I looked at all of the world items flavor text to best determine how to distribute them when Phase 1 has been enacted but it's been some time ago, I can't be bothered to remember all the information they presented"
Vel nodded feeling that was a proper response that no one had that perfect of a memory, not even the guild master himself "Right, thanks for entrusting me with this world item. I'll begin drawing up plans for weapons to be created and to fill our armory" she said, even producing her own divine rarity item called 'The Book of Infinite Pages', an item that is said to produce infinite pages to be used and written on. A good way to reduce the need for paper and parchment.
Jaune nodded then looking at Ruby who stared back unyielding "Now Ruby, I believe I know which item to give to you. Take Poet's Amnesty with you. Though you already know what it does but I'll explain to Brian and Vel" Jaune said while he turned his head to the other two, Vel looked up from her book to give the lecture her attention along with Brian.
"The basic ability of Poet's Amnesty is the ability to camouflage themselves and others, this ability is able to aggro any monster in a dungeon, and able to not trip any harmful trap or mechanism of any dungeon.
"It's a powerful stealth ability, however all of these items. I'm unsure of what changes they sustained as did we so if you find any sudden abilities that is different then inform us so we can know what has changed" Jaune had said which he watched the red cloaked girl picking up a slightly scorched book with her left hand and bringing it inside her cloak.
"Anyway, You guys can go. Get some sleep because tomorrow we begin to investigate the outside world outside our home. To see if we really are trapped in our own personal hell" the three nodded and began to leave while The bunny spoke up slightly as the sound of her voice started to weaken.
"So guys, want to have a sleepover in Ruby's room?" Velvet proposed to the fellow guild members only for ruby to shout "DONT OFFER MY ROOM!!" The door closed leaving jaune alone.
The blonde swordsmen got up from his seat while also grabbing the sword from his lap to walk over to the window watching the thunderstorm outside and the rising waves of the endless ocean.
He began to think of what was happening to him and his friends, they learned that his own npcs had taken on lives of their own then stuck in their own guild that may or may not be hell.
Now there's a possible chance that they could be killed by whatever was happening so he did what any leader would do, be ready for whatever is coming. "How Troublesome..." Jaune Arc said as he reached towards his mask to take it off exposing his face, piercing blue eyes and a three slash scar going horizontally towards the left down the right, it was so deep that it looked like that the claw that made the 'Scar' should've cleanly taken off the blonde man's face.
No one in the guild understood why Jaune wore the 'Mask of Envy' Item especially since he often claimed that he liked the look and added it to his avatar appearance.
Jaune stared down at the mask contemplating before putting it back on to walk over to the cart that has three items missing, grabbing the second book type item called the chronicle and putting inside his own item box.
The Guildmaster grabs the cart then begins pushing it out of the room silently as he had a purpose with the remaining items, minus two.
