Chapter One: A New Face On Lyoko

Xana walked into the classroom and looked around. He felt…nervous. It was ridiculous, he knew, but for some reason he couldn’t help it. It was his human body, he supposed. Humans were weak in body and mind. Still, while he was in this form he knew he had to keep his new emotions in check. “Do you mind if I sit here, Miss?” He knew he had to be polite to the people around him, as to not draw much attention to himself.

Sissi looked up at the new kid, about to tell him off until, that is, she met his eyes. ‘He’s gorgeous!’ She blushed. “Well, I was saving it for Ulrich, but you can sit here if you want!” She said with a bright smile.

Xana’s breathe caught in his throat. “T…Thank you.” Inside, he questioned his reaction to her looks as he sat down. ‘What is this emotion? I’ve never heard of it before. I can’t breathe, my hands are shaking, my body is sweating. What is this woman-child doing to me?’

“My name is Sissi.” She extended her hand.

Xana stared at her for a moment. “I’m Xane.” He gave a confused look at her hand.

“Oh…” She paused, also looking at her hand. “Um, you’re supposed to shake it.”

Startled, he looked to her face. “Why would I do that?”

“You know…I don’t know!” Suddenly she started to giggle. “It’s just what people do when then introduce themselves.”

“Oh,” Xana nodded and shook her hand gently. ‘Wow, her skin feels so…soft and warm.’

“So, where are you from? You don’t seem like you’re from around here.”

Cocking his head to the side, he questioned, “Why do you say that?”

Sissi immediately blushed bright pink. “Well, your accent for one. It sounds…old English. And you look different too.”

Xana smirked on the inside. It was true, he did pick a very nice human form. His hair was a dark red and his eyes were a bright green. He kept his hair messy, letting it fall into his eyes, giving him a bad boy look. “I’ll take that as a complement.” He said with a wink. Sissi, in turn, blushed bright red and turned as the teacher came into the classroom.

“Everyone, we have a new student joining us today. Is name is Xane Karma.” The old women turned her eyes to him. “Mr. Karma, would you like to introduce yourself to the class?”

Xane shook his head and stood briefly. “No, I’m fine. Thank you.”

“Hey, Ulrich, have you noticed the new kid?” Odd asked from his seat beside his best friend. “He’s kinda…strange.”

Ulrich glanced up from his comic book. “Huh? The only strange thing I see is that he’s talking with Sissi.” Both boys laughed. “Maybe we should introduce ourselves to him.”

“Sounds like a good idea. Oh, hey Ulrich, I’ve been meaning to tell you something by the way-”

“Big Brother!”

All the students turned to look at the 16 year old girl standing in the doorway. She had blonde hair with amethyst strikes and her eyes were a light purple shining with a mischievous innocence. “Odd! I’m so glad to be going to school with you!” The young girl squealed as she jumped on her brother. “This is going to be so great! We’ll stay up late and tell ghost stories and eat smores…wait…we’re not camping…” She bust out laughing at her own joke.

“Um…surprise!” Odd laughed out, looking at Ulrich, who’s jaw was on the floor.

“Excuse me young lady! Just what do you think you are doing interrupting my class?” Mrs. Hertz growled, glaring at the girl.

The young woman sniffled twice then started to cry. “I’m so sorry, I just was lost and when I saw my brother I felt so much better. I’m really so, so sorry!” She covered her face with her hands to hide her grin.

“Oh…It’s alright dear. Just tell me where you’re supposed to be.”

The girl smiled and pulled out her schedule. “Um, I’m supposed to be in math with Mrs. Meyer.”

“Alright, dear. Odd, she’s is your sister. Why don’t you take her there and help her feel better, would you dear?”

Odd smiled and stood. Sure thing teach!”

“So, you never told us you had a sister. Can we ask why?” Yumi asked, crossing her arms over her chest. “I mean, really, Odd? That’s just rude you know!”

Odd sighed as he and his sister arrived at the lunch table. “Hey, guys, this is my sister Kayln. She used to live in America with my dad. You guys happy now?”

“So…” Jeremie started, “I’m Jeremie-”

“Oh, I know who all of you are! Odd talks about you all the time.” Kayln sat next to Hiroki. “You must be Yumi’s brother.”

Hiroki blushed and look at his plate. “I, oh, um, yeah.” He stuttered. ‘She is so pretty!’

“So, Kayln. How is America?” Yumi asked, who was sitting on the other side of her brother. “I’ve heard it’s nice.”

“Oh, it’s alright. I missed Odd too much though. Dad finally decided that if I missed my brother so much, he would send me here. And now, here I am.” Suddenly, Kayln’s bag started to move, and a strange noise could be heard. “Oh no! Odd Jr. be quiet!”

“Odd Jr.?” Odd asked as everyone started to laugh.

“Well, this is Odd Jr.” The younger sister reached into her backpack and pulled out a small purple kitten. “I found him a couple weeks before I was supposed to leave and I couldn’t just abandon him! And beside, he looks just like you! It was a sign! I swear it!”

“You do know you’re not aloud to have animals right?” Aleita asked. “You don’t want to get caught with him. They’ll throw him out.”

The blonde nodded her head. I know. I’ll keep him hidden.”

“Oh. That reminds me. Has anyone noticed the new students?” Odd asked.

“New students?” Yumi asked. “I haven’t seen any.”

Odd pointed to a group of kids coming into the lunch room. “The one in the middle is Xane, but I haven’t seen the rest of them here.”

“Oh, I know them!” Kayln exclaimed. “They helped me find my room. The older girl is Kasuka and that’s her sister Jamie. Kasuka is all bark and bite, and Jamie is kinda a brainiac. The oldest boy is Charbonneau and that’s his brother Rad.” Suddenly, Kayln’s eyes glossed over. “Rad is very sweet. He’s the one who told the others to help me!”

Hiroki growled. “He looks like a dweeb.” He commented, stabbing his salisbury steak angrily.

“Hey, Kayln.” Rad smiled as he passed. “Do you mind if I sit here?”

The young girl blushed. “Sure Rad! This is my brother Odd and these are his friend. Ulrich, Yumi, Hiroki, Jeremie, and Aelita!”

Rad froze. The girl looked just like the boy in the warehouse. “Hey, I’m Rad.” He sat next to the pink haired girl. “It’s nice to meet you. Um, do you have a brother by any chance?”

Aelita gave him a confused look. “Um, no, I don’t. Why do you ask?”

Rad gave a confused look and shook his head. “Um, oh, no reason.”

“Rad,” Charbonneau paused, looking at Aelita with disgust, “you should really keep better company. We’ll be sitting at that table over there, with Sissi and her friends. Join us when you’ve come to your senses.”

“Hey, just wait one second!” Jeremie growled, grabbing Charbonneau’s arm. Everyone in the cafeteria froze and stared at the two. “Just what do you have against Aelita! She’s done nothing to you!” His normally quiet voice turned into a venomous snarl.

Charbonneau looked down to his arm, then to Jeremie. A split second later he drew his fist back and punched the nerdy boy in the face. “Don’t ever touch me!”

Ulrich was on him in a second. He leapt over the table and tackled the other boy to the ground, his fist raised. He brought his arm down, however, someone grabbed his fist and held him still. Rad.

“Ulrich he’s an asshole but he’s my brother. If you hit him, I’ll have to hurt you.” He cast a look to Aelita, “And I really don’t think such a beautiful woman should be exposed to such violence.”

Ulrich growled as Rad released his hand and punched the floor next the Charbonneau’s head. “Don’t ever, ever touch one of my friend again. Don’t even talk to us. Do you hear me jackass?”

Charbonneau pushed Ulrich off of him nodded. “Yeah, I hear you, but I don’t care. I’ll do anything to protect my brother. Come on Rad, lets go.”

Rad left with his brother, looking back to Aelita as he left.

Jeremie yawned as he and his friends headed back to their dorms. His glasses had been broken and he had been forced to where his contacts, and his left eyes was black and green from where he had been hit earlier that day.

“Jeremie, you sure you’re alright?” Aelita asked, putting her hand on his shoulder. “It looks like it hurts.”

The blonde boy blushed. “No, no. I’m fine. Thanks for defending me Ulrich.”

Ulrich too blushed. “It was nothing. The asshole deserved it. I wonder what his problem was?”

“Dunno,” Odd said, his arms behind his back, “I think Rad only told you to stop cause he wanted to impress Aelita.” He said with a chuckle, making the girl in question blush bright red.

“Don’t be ridiculous Odd!”

The whole gang started to laugh as they reached Jeremie’s room. “Alright guys,” said the blonde, “I’ll see you later-” As he opened the door, he saw another boy sitting in his room. “Hey, what are you doing here, Rad?”

Rad looked up from his bed. “Oh, so you’re the person I’m sharing a room with. Sorry about earlier.” He sat up and looked to Aelita. “Are you sure you don’t have a brother?”

Aelita gave him a confused look once again. “Yes, I’m sure. I think I would remember…” Suddenly her voice trailed off as her eyes glazed over. Was she sure? There was still many things she didn’t remember about her life. Could she possibly have a brother out there she didn’t know about?

“Aelita? Are you alright?” Yumi asked, putting a hand on her shoulder.

“Oh, yes, I’m fine.” She smiled at her friend, then turned to look at the strange boy once again. “Why do you keep asking me if I have a brother?”

“Oh, uh, I had a friend who also had pink hair is all. Nothing important!” Rad lied. He knew something was wrong. Charbonneau seemed to hate this girl for no apparent reason right after he met Xane, who Rad was beginning to think was really Xana. The pink hair boy did mention that Xana was tricking some people into helping him. Maybe, just maybe the warehouse he left his brother in was just like the one he had stumbled upon. And Maybe, just maybe, Xane, Xana, had tricked his brother into helping him.

“So, Rad. What’s up with your brother?” Jeremie asked after his friends left and he was alone with the new boy. “He seems like a jerk.”

Rad sighed, “It’s not that. It’s…something personal. I don’t really wanna talk about it.”

Xana growled as he typed at his laptop. He had successfully enrolled all of them into the school, his plan was going accordingly, except for the fact that he just found out his powers over anything electrical did not work while in his human form. Also, he found that he couldn’t get the female Sissi out of his mind. Her skin was so soft and warm, her eyes were as bright as any sun, and her smile could heal any wound.

Xana shook his head fiercely. He needed to find out what strange feelings he was having for her so he could purge his system of them. “Charbonneau, I have a question for you.”

Charbonneau, who was sitting on his bed reading a comic, turned to Xana. “Yeah, What’s up?”

“Well, see, there’s this girl, and well, I have these weird feelings for her, and I, well, I’m confused.” Xana sighed. This was very troublesome.

Charbonneau, however, started to laugh. “Oh, I get it. You were stuck in that virtual place for so long, you’ve never felt love, or lust, before. Just screw her. It’ll go away.”

Xana gave him a very confused look. “Lust? What is this emotion you speak of?”

Charbonneau sighed. “Give me your computer.” After Xana did, Charbonneau logged onto the internet, “Alright, let me just find a video…ok, here. Watch this.” He said with a smirk, handing the laptop back to his new ‘friend’.

The green haired boy took the computer and pressed play. After a few seconds, he could hear moaning and could see a man and a woman doing…things. Strangely enough, he felt a feeling in his chest and could feel a certain part of him reacting to the images. “Wha…What are they doing?”

“You’re 18 and you have no idea what sex is?” Charbonneau sat up, “Really? Just, look it up. Do some research and then seduce the girl you like,” He shrugged his shoulders, “I’ve done it with Kasuka a million times. To tell you the truth though, I like guys more then girls.”

“A guy can like another guy?” Xana’s eyes widened. He was starting to think that there was a major problem with his newest plan. ‘Wait…if Charbonneau likes guys…maybe…’ “Let’s start a new topic. We need to get those…poor kids away from that evil computer virus. You saw yourself how she has brainwashed them.”

“Hm, how do you think we should do it?”

“Well…you did mention something about ‘seducing’ someone? Explain this to me.” He commented, trying to hide his evil smile.

Charbonneau smirked and leaned back against the wall, putting a knee up. “Well, the easiest way to seduce someone, is to first dramatically catch their eyes.”

“Like…to save someone?”

“Yeah, that would do it. Then, to gain their trust. Talk to them, but act aloof. Like you’re not interested. The best game is when someone is hard to get. The chase is the best part. I’m the master at it too.” Charbonneau smirked, and closed his eyes. “So, what do you have in mind, and who would I be seducing?”

“Well, I have a suspicion that a certain Code Lyoko warrior might be interested in guys just like you-”

“You mean the one that hit me, right? Ulrich? I guessed it to by the way he was protecting the blond kid with glasses. That was more then a friend thing. I still have to get him back. What are you going to do?”

“Hey, Ulrich, I have to get off the phone now, my cousin is calling me,”

Ulrich sighed, “Alright, Yumi. I’ll see you later. Goodnight.”

“Goodnight.”

Ulrich gave another sigh of relief as the line went dead. He just couldn’t come out and tell the girl he thought he loved that he really was gay. It was a conclusion he came to when he began his senior year and his feelings for Jeremie started to grow and spiral out of control. He hated himself for it.

Ulrich’s phone rang and he answered it with a “Hello?”

“Ulrich, it’s Jeremie. Xana has activated a tower. We’ve got to get to the factory.”

“Right. I’ll wake Odd and meet you there.” The brunette sighed as he hung up, then woke his friend. “Hey, Odd,”

“Just one more kiss, then we’ll go to sleep,” Odd mumbled sleepily, grabbing Ulrich and placing his lips over his friends lips.

Ulrich froze in place. This was his first kiss, he had no idea what to do. He wanted to just close his eyes and lean into it, but he knew that Odd probably didn’t know what he was doing. “Um,…” He mumbled instead.

Suddenly, Odd’s eyes snapped open. He flung himself away from Ulrich to the other side of his bed. “Oh, my god, I’m so sorry! I was having a dream about…well, I don’t want to compromise myself…”

Ulrich blushed. “It’s alright. I figured. Xana has activated a tower. We have to go.”

The two rushed out of the room and into the courtyard only to find Charbonneau and Kasuka in the middle of the grounds. “What are you guys doing out here?” Kasuka asked, glaring at the boys.

“We could ask you the same thing,” Ulrich growled, stepping forward. “You’re brother isn’t here to stop me from kicking your ass this time-”

Suddenly, a tarantula came out of the woods. In it’s mechanics, only two people were programmed for it to attack. Ulrich, and Charbonneau. It raised one of its lasers and pointed at the brunette before firing a beam at him.

Things moved in slow motion Ulrich. He had barely even computed the information that a Lyoko monster was on earth, and now all he could see was the laser beam coming at him and his body was frozen with shock. ‘Am I about to die?’

‘Here we go!’ Thought Charbonneau as he yelled out and jumped in front of Ulrich, getting hit with the blast and knocking into the other boy. Both of them rolled on the ground a few feet away and Charbonneau’s head started to throb, along with his chest. ‘Don’t pass out, don’t pass out, this is important!’

“You…saved me?” Ulrich coughed, sitting up with Charbonneau’s head in his lap. “Why would you do that? You could have died!”

Charbonneau chuckled, “I couldn’t let a cutie like you die. Besides, I’d be pissed if,-” He started to caught, “if I didn’t tell you that I was sorry for punching your boyfriend.”

Ulrich blushed and was about to comment when he heard Odd yell.

“Ulrich! Move!” He growled, picking up a branch and hitting the monster. “Run, get him out of here!”

“Alright, call Yumi. Get to Lyoko. I’ll take care of this thing.”

The teen nodded and threw his branch at the tarantula before taking off towards the woods.

“Looks like you’re girlfriend ran away,” Ulrich grunted, picking Charbonneau up and putting his arm around his shoulder.

“I don’t have a girlfriend. I’m gay.”

Ulrich blushed as he helped the other boy as they ran from the monster into the woods. “Oh, Jeremie isn’t my boyfriend. He’s in love with Aelita.”

Charbonneau coughed again. His chest really burned. “That must, suck for you…” He growled out. Suddenly, he lunged forward as he was shot again, this time in the back. ‘Xana, are you trying to kill me?’ Charbonneau growled as he took a knee. ‘You know what, I’m killing this thing.’ “Alright, how do we kill it?”

Ulrich set him down to lean on a tree. “The eye. It’s on the top of its head. You gonna be alright?”

Charbonneau smiled and stood slowly before stepping towards the creature that was preparing to fire away. “I’ll defeat him.” He took a knife out of his pocket. Xana had warned him he might need to do this. “Alright, don’t worry. I’ll save you,” He turned and winked at Ulrich, but it was a mistake. The monster fired again, this time a charged shot. Charbonneau flew backwards and slammed into a tree, knocking him out.

Ulrich pulled out his phone and ran to the other boy, taking the knife and then putting the other boy on his back. “Hello? Jeremie?”

“We’re in trouble here. What about you?”

“Charbonneau has taken three hits, one of them charged. I can barely feel his pulse. You have to deactivate the tower and do a return to the past. I…I don’t think he can make it much longer.” Ulrich heaved out as he ran, zigzagging through the trees. He knew if he ran in a straight line, the tarantula would be able to actually take a shot. But if he zigzagged, it wouldn’t be able to get on its hind legs to fire.

“It’s just Yumi left Ulrich, Odd just got devitalized.”

“Alright. I’ll try to get there as soon as I can. Ulrich growled before slamming the phone shut. “Alright Charbonneau, I’ve got to hide you somewhere safe.”

Rad woke up to someone calling his name. Startled, his eyes snapped open and he sat up. It was the boy from the warehouse. “You! How did you get in here?”

The boy pointed it Rad’s backpack. “The laptop that you found in the warehouse. It is connected to that super computer. Where it goes, I can go. You have to go to Lyoko. They need you.”

Rad shook his head. “I can’t. I figured out how to vitalize someone, but I can’t figure out how to do it to myself. I need another person.”

The boy nodded his head. “I know. I’ve been in Lyoko a long time. I can teach you how to set a timer for the virtualization process. But you have to get there now! If you don’t…you’re brother might die.”

Rad jumped out of bed. “What did you say!? But I thought he was working for Xana!”

The boy nodded. “He is. Something…unexpected happened with Xana’s newest plan. You have to go.”

The younger boy grabbed his backpack and took off running. “Do you know the quickest way to get there?” He asked as he noticed the boy was running with him.

“Take the sewer. There is an entrance coming up in the woods. You will see a skateboard to the left, take it and go right. Go down, take the second left, the first right, then go up the 5th ladder on the right. Do you understand?” After Rad nodded, he added, “Aelita does not remember me, does she?”

“No,” The other boy huffed out as he started to descended into the sewer. “I’m sorry.”

“No, it’s not her fault. It’s Xana. By the way, my name is Eatali.”

“I’m Rad.”

After a seemingly long journey, the boy arrived at his destination. Once he was at the super computer, and Eatali showed him how to vitalize himself. “You need to be in the forest sector.” He informed him. After a few more instructions he nodded, “Alright,” Suddenly, he started to phase out again, “I’m getting weak. I need to rest. The last few things I told you to do will hide your face on Lyoko and will give you extra armor and hit points. You’re ready.”

Rad watched as the Eatali disappeared and initiation the countdown for virtualization. Then, he took the elevator up one level to the pods and stepped inside. This was it. His big moment. He couldn’t help but feel excited.

Suddenly, he felt a warm sensation; his body felt like it was being pulled apart, but it did not hurt. I felt…euphoric. Gasping, he closed his eyes, then was surprised when he felt himself falling and he hit the ground. “Ouch,” He rubbing his back as he stood. “Alright, where are they…and what the Hell am I!?”

His body was covered in green and brown robes that blended into the forest. He had leaves sticking out from behind his now pointed ears, and he had giant leaves sticking out of leather boots. “What the Hell? I’m a…sprite?” Sprite: A wood fae. “How lame is that?”

He looked around him and was shocked to see a wooden staff. He must have dropped it. Picking it up, he noticed for the first time the pulsations going through the ground and decided to follow them, running in the general direction. Suddenly, as he was running, his feet started to leave the ground. “Hold shit I can fly!” He yelled and cried out in joy, flying as fast as he could.

When he got there, it surely didn’t look good for the only Lyoko Warrior that was there.

She was surrounded by three tarantulas. She was barely able to defend herself with her fans. Then, Rad saw her, Kasuka. He couldn’t tell by anything except the fact that Eatali told him his brother was being brainwashed. Kasuka wore a red jumpsuit and a silver and red mask covered her whole head and hiding her hair. She had a ball of fire in her hands.

“Bye-bye, Yumi dearest!” Kasuka growled, throwing the fire ball and hitting the Japanese girl, who the disappeared.

Rad growled, and flew over to Aelita. “Hey, you look like you could use some help?”

Aelita backed away slowly. “Who…who are you?”

“I’m a friend. Trust me. Get on my back, I’ll get you to the tower.” After he spoke, he gave her a dashing grin. “Come on. You can trust me. I could never lie to a pretty lady.”

“Aelita, don’t do it! It could be a trap!” Jeremie’s voice rang.

Aelita waited and watched at the advancing enemies, then hopped on the new characters back. “Alright. I trust you.”

Rad smiled. “Awesome. Away we go then!” He yelled, flying into the air over the Lyoko monsters. As he pasted each one, he smashed his staff into their marks, destroying them with one hit. He went over Kasuka’s head, and she fired a shot at him as he hit her. She fell to the ground, but Rad, who was in immense pain, kept going, landing in front of the tower. “My lady, I believe we have arrived.”

Aelita blushed and nodded before entering the tower.

Ulrich looked around, wondering where to hide Charbonneau. No place obvious he knew, but where could he put him where the monster wouldn’t find him? ‘Wait, they can’t climb.’ The brunette look up to the roof and sighed before going around back. “If you’re awake, hold on Charbonneau,” Ulrich growled before climbing up the ladder. Absently, he felt the older boy grab around his neck and sighed in relief. It would be a little easier if the kid was awake.

Once they were up there, he laid the other male down and winced as the other groaned in pain. “Ulrich, I really am sorry.”

The brunette nodded. “Yes, I know.” He brushed a stray lock out of the injured youths face, marveling at how the rising sun set his features ablaze. “Charbonneau…have you ever been kissed before?” He asked with a blush.

Charbonneau coughed. Should he lie, or tell the truth? “No,” He lied, “Never before.”

“Would you…like for me to kiss you? I think it would be bad if you died without a first kiss.” Ulrich thought that, no matter what, there was no way Charbonneau would remember after the kiss. Whether he did die or not, because Jeremie was going to initiate a return to the pass.

“I’d…like that,” The other boy whispered, his eyes half open. “I’d like that a lot.”

Ulrich leaned down and cupped Charbonneau’s cheek before slowly leaning down and capturing his lips in a kiss. It remained innocent at first, until the black haired boy flicked his tongue out, asking for entrance to the younger’s mouth. He replied by opening his lips to him and their tongues fought for dominance before Ulrich finally groaned at the sensation and let Charbonneau dominate his mouth.

The older boy resisted the urge to smirk and grabbed the back of Ulrich’s head, forcing him to gasp and open his mouth further to the intrusion. As the broke away panting, Charbonneau’s eyes glossed over. Ulrich was a great kisser.

“That was…amazing. You sure that was your first?”

Charbonneau didn’t get a chance to reply, however as the return to the past kicked in and he found himself walking towards his brother in the lunch room. ‘This is when I punched Jeremie.’

“Rad,” Charbonneau paused, looking at Aelita with disgust, “you should really keep better company. We’ll be sitting at that table over there, with Sissi and her friends. Join us when you’ve come to your senses.”

Jeremie jumped up to grab Charbonneau’s arm. Apparently, defending Aelita was worth getting punched, however a blushing Ulrich stopped him. “What the heck Ulrich.”

“Hey, he doesn’t know what he’s saying. Just let it go.”

Rad, who was still sitting, blinked a few times. ‘This is…weird. I heard Jeremie say return to the past…but still. Why does no one else find this weird? I’ll have to ask Eatali next time he comes to me.’

Ulrich turned to face Charbonneau. “Look, whatever you have against us, I, um,” He blushed once again, “We don’t have to be friends, let’s just not be enemies.” He extended his hand to the other boy. He didn’t know why he was doing this. Maybe it was because for some reason, most likely the kiss, he felt connected to him.

Charbonneau resist the urge to smirk once again. “Sure. Hey look, I need some help in literature-”

“I’m your guy!” Ulrich smiled. “I’ll stop by your room tonight to help you.”

With a nod, Charbonneau and his friends, walked away. “And that, is how to make a guy fall in love,” He whispered to Xana, this time letting his smirk show through. “I’ll have him listening to my every command before to long.”
Kasuka growled. “I don’t like this plan.”

Charbonneau frowned and looked down at his girlfriend. He did love her, but this was not about him and her. This was about the fate of the world. “I know, but I have to. You know that. Why don’t you try to get Odd or Jeremie to join us?”
At this, Kasuka smiled. “Well, Odd is kinda cute.”

Back with the Lyoko Warriors, Ulrich tried not to blush as he sat down, ignoring the stares from the others. “Well, Rad. I think your brother would like it if you were with him,”

Rad nodded. “Yea, I guess I should go. Alright, see you guys later!”

After the younger boy left, Yumi turned to Kalyn, “Hey, what class do you have next?”

“Um, gym, why?”

Yumi smiled smally, “Hiroki, why don’t you show Odd’s sister where the gym is before class starts. I’m sure she’d appreciate it.” She watched the two talk as they disappeared, before turning back to her teammates. “Guys, I have some bad news for you.”

They all looked at her with a questioning gaze until Ulrich spoke, “Is this about the phone call from your cousin?”

Yumi nodded. “Yeah. My aunt is really sick, she has cancer. Yusuke is having a hard time taking care of her by himself and…I’m going to Japan to help him.” She look down at her tray of food. “I know this is going to be hard without me,” Her eyes tearred up, “And I’m sorry, but…they are the only family I have besides my mom, dad, and Hiroki. I have to do this.”

A/N: Yes it is a cliffy. I don’t know what the pairins will be for sure but I can tell you that Charbonneau and Kasuka will be paired together. Don’t worry, there will not be any of the main cast paired with my OCs
